Our Christmas starts early!

December 21, 2007 by thejessicat

I just returned from Dubby’s house and we had a real good time with the folks.

Pre-Christmas dinner was simple yet nice. Probably not one of Dubby’s best works… but to me, it’s still good nonetheless. Loveya boo~

Urmm… no need to peep and peer into what’s for dinner like what they’re doing.
I’ll tell ya’ll… fo shure!

We had Baked chicken with bacon and cream cheese stuffings, Potato salad, Fusilli (the helix pasta) and cheese, Aubergines, Wine, Lemon Meringue Pie, and Persimmons.

[below are just two pics of some of the dishes]
Goodness gracious, I can hear the gym beckoning my return!!!

We ate and chatted for hours – Myself, Dubby, Dubby’s mum, My mum, Dubby’s sis, Granny and Big Aunt. Some of us went to the living room to watch some telly and ta-daa! Santa was here early!

Our first Christmas present – from lil sis Rachel! Introducing to you, Octie and Octa. And yes Hunn, MY OCTIE IS CUTER THAN YOUR OCTA! period.

And.. more prezzies from Dubby’s mom!

Wonder what’s inside? *grin*

We cuddled up in front of the telly for a lil while and suddenly, loud guffaws were heard from the dining room. Seriously, their hyena-like laughter evoked my curiosity and I scrambled up to see what was the laughing stock all about.

oh. line dancing.. what’s so funny about that?
And when I thought it was all over, we were greeted to a shock of our lives!!

School girl meets harajuku cheese smile style!!

Tah ee, I applaud and marvel at you for being so sporting. Seriously, I personally would not dress up in.. say, a Mickey Mouse outfit and allow my picture to be taken at my expense. I guess, it’s back to school for everyone, huh?

Aight, our last picture before celebrating Christmas in different locations this year. Oh well, next Christmas will come by soon enough. Let today be our 2007 pre-Christmas celebration together!

Bringing Mass Commers together!

November 3, 2007 by thejessicat

A barbeque party by the beach with my fellow mass commers – juniors and seniors alike. Muneer had slaughtered this lamb (wait, or was it goat?) Whatever it is, like someone mentioned, “Dont ask what it is, just eat it!” Yeah, and I certainly did not regret savouring the flavours that those pieces of meat can hold. Muneer, the barbequed lamb/goat/whatever was great! Oozing with tasty juices and so fucking delicously  fattening till a point that I don’t bloody hell care how fattening it is!

I see Mr. Tan Kim Hock eyeing the lamb! Don’t worry Enrique, you’ll get your share =)

Simply fantastic.

The chicken was fab too; my guess is that the person who marinaded it must have very deft hands. And the one who barbequed it – credit goes to Joanna – it was very well cooked. YUMMY! Howard took over the Chicken-bbqing after that. Kim and I couldn’t get enough of the chicken. =P

must.have.chicken.
have. chicken. will. travel.

Had fun downing the Grouse too, came back for more! haha. But hey, the Raspberry Vodka tastes like antibiotics. No diffie at all.

And the best part was engaging in a Barter Trade with Jovan and Jazman. Kept Barter Trading till we had nothing left to trade! =)

I was so surprised to see Zam, Azah, Azman and Kevin there too. Looks like it ain’t just a Mass Comm gathering after all, as even Mia and Kim came too.
Loved the night scenery with a city skyline.
Will send you your picture Keira!

Some of us took walks on the beach and started chatting away. Then, strangely there were sausages that appeared from nowhere. Seriously, it wasn’t there when we first came! We stayed till all the way till Adrienne’s birthday striked twelve midnight. Jeeves tried to throw her in the sea! Drienne dear, every birthday girl gets thrown into the sea if she happens to be by the beach. But, you escaped! =0

Me up with the rest back and watched them play Chor Tai Ti for a while – winnings goes to Theresa! Just imagine, if it were to be played with cash…… *sniggers* Rich hollaback gurl of the nite then. =)

The dudes being dudes started to shuffle around
We had such a fun time and to Muneer: GREAT BARBEQUE PARTY YOU’VE GOT THERE. Congrats!

That’s not the lot of us. The others have either left early or sitting at the round stone-tables.
See ya’ll in college on black Monday!

5 days of absence

September 29, 2007 by thejessicat

Film Studies, Public Relations, Media Research and NewsWriting went great and are finally over… for the moment! It won’t be long until it all comes rolling back to us for our finals in another 7 weeks! *gulps*

What’s been happening, you ask? Too much. Just a lil glimpse or two would be good enough ey? =)

The day exactly after our Mid-Terms, I was introduced to some ganja-rous snacks!

Caution: highly addictive.

It’s those cheese-flavoured corn sticks which just oozes all the goodness of gastronomic sin with every bite you take. Try it, you’ll soon find yourself thronging through crowds of KDU students who have been succumbing to its hyponotism.

A few things cropped up and there were 3 lessons to learn:

1. Blogs are never, ever private
2. Violence solves nothing
3. Assumptions are lame

Believe it or not, those were the 3 things I now have in mind after bearing witness to the tough ordeal of a few great friends of mine. it’s over gurls, let bygones be bygones okie? Harm no one! (refer to #2)

Mum and I went for our facials and massages after a strenuous week of emotions, uphill and downhill rollercoasters and the like.

Don’t worry, I ain’t posting our Ghost of Christmas Past pictures taken during our facial. Imagine: white zombie-fied faces with mud packs on eyes.
That won’t be very necessary now, would it? =)

My babes and I went down to Babylon @ UPR
just the other night to hangout and indulge
in some awesome margaritas and cocktails

*piccies coming soon*

Benj and I spent 2days together and yes, through the process of dinner as well.

We had some baked potato pasta and sausage thingy which Denise mentioned its slight resemblance to a shepards pie.

Hmm.. come to think of it, you have a point there, De! =)

All in all, my 5days had been a blast and a learning experience. The best part of it all is that through my stormy nights and sunny skies, I had my boo and gurlfens there for me to lend me a shoulder and to listen and be there just as my pillar of strength. Really appreciate ya’ll babes.

Gotta go get ready for David’s party now. Ciao!

A new day of fun!

September 21, 2007 by thejessicat

Whee! It’s Benj’s off day again! =)

We’re making an effort to see each other as often as we can now, as absence can be quite problematic at times, no? For all those fights we had, it certainly made us stronger by the day. Though much we have learned, still much to learn we have.

After PR class, we headed down to Gurney for a lunch at Sushi King with my babes, Steph and Joyce. The four of us chatted about anything under the sun! Nads, lets all go again with you after the Ramadhan month yea? hugs

Tug-of-pea

Lunch at Sushi King was rather enlightening, I must say. For Steph and Benj made me eat a reddish baby octopus and fried scallops which very much resemble ‘Char Koay Teow”. Thanks guys, it’s kinda nice… IF i DO HAVE TO ADMIT. =P

Trying hard to reach up to eat something non-existent =)

Oh, harsh effects of Wasabi unto a person’s facial expressions. Do note that it is indeed nasty. Just because i ain’t uploading Joyce’s Wasabi-fied face, doesn’t mean I can’t forewarn you =)

Happy Tummies

Benj and I then headed down to Cold Storage to do some grocery shopping for our dinner.

After much thought, the chef-instincts were at it again. A awesome hybrid of pasta and pastry! There you have it, Chicken and Pasta Pie – simply invigorating

So warm and delicious, oven-baked to perfection

Hubby, there’s no escape! You are to impress me and my gurlfriends next time! XD

Since it was my turn to do the dishes, I had a laugh of my life when i made Benj ask me to do so in Cantonese! Goodness gracious, your intonation and pronunciation of the Cantonese dialect drove me into fits of laughter. =) well… umm… not a bad attempt darling, you finally made me wash it in the end *grins*

But I made you dip your hands into the revolting wet mush to unclog the sink first!!

LOL See? Your Corningware is so clean, thanks to?? Thanks to? Ahahahaaa.. meeeeeee

Battle of the lards

September 19, 2007 by thejessicat

The last time I ate horrible lunch was just the day before yesterday, and I’m actually glad to say that history did not repeat itself. That statement was purely made without any hints of biasness whatsoever; you’ll see why in a while. =)

Yes, my bestie Joyce and I had lunch at Le’ Cafe, proudly stationed at our college. And I must say, those budding chefs have got quite a skill there! Again, I must reiterate that it’s of no biasness for I shall state objectivity and nothing less than that in this post. Side-tracking from this, my very own boyf is a budding chef himself! =P

Alright now, where was I?

Yes. Le’ Cafe’s lunch set, priced at only 10bucks!! We were full after the hearty main course but decided to chomp down the rather tempting dessert – lovely.
  *no touching*
great things always comes in a small portion! I’ll have the lion’s share =)

That’s our waiter for the day –
we welcome you, Palipalam!! (ps. That’s not really his name, when Benj referred to him as by that name, I actually expected to meet an Indian dude)

Ahh.. the contrast of it all =)
Taking the line ‘anyone can cook’ – literally!
Hey, no mice allowed in here Remy! (for those not in the know, watch Ratatouille)

Being the gym brat I am, we took off to CelebF immediately after class. Oh, when I said ‘we’, I meant Joyce and I. YAY she’s my new gym partner! Most of my previous gym partners turned lazy and hardly hits the gym with me now *sniff* Joyce dear, I hope you won’t turn out that way!! Imma make sure you stay! *grins*

*ahem*
laziness kills the dreams from materializing.

This is pure hard work Joyce dear, I’m proud of you.
Keep it up and you’ll be the bombshell!

Oh, and randomly, here’s a candid shot of my maid doing something I can’t possibly describe:

*warning* puasa does not aid a person in slimming down.
The living proof has met the eye
