you've got Melvin suicidal… suicidal… when you say it's over

November 16, 2007 by thejessicat

Wow.. the last time when I stayed up the entire night was some way back during camp and the other was one of those parties. And now, I’m having immensely-heavy eyelids, a migraine, runny nose and reduced to nothing but a daylight-walking zombie.

Nope, it wasn’t a hangover nor a camp.

It was the bloody final projects for this hectic semester. I’m so glad I’ve finally finished my MRM-Friendster research, analysis and report.. worked on the PR Suicide campaign’s report… and updating the progress of my editorial and layout work for our newspaper – The Daily Scoop

All these, and more caffeine for 8 consecutive hours until I had to leave in the morning for lectures in college. It’s another marathon tonight!  @_@

—————————————————————-
Attention: Attempted Suicide by Student in Depression.

Melvin Low Jin-Yi a.k.a Vegemaster’s suicidal plans had been foiled by his beloved classmates and Film Lecturer. He escaped the class premises by creeping out of Room109’s back window and onto the ledge. Scoping MGS schoolgirls as his final hormonal-driven activity, Low,18 decided that it was best to end his life tragically by plunging from the 1st Floor of  KDU College and into the vicinity of the young and innocent MGS girls’ compound.

Khaw Kenn Wee, also 18, came to his rescue. He managed to coax him into getting off the ledge and succeeded in luring him back into the class with a stick of Pika-Bika. Ruby Tan (inset) opened the window, thus allowing Melvin to re-enter her class.
Melvin, in a state of shock, was attended by paramedics and sent to his grandmother immediately after the incident.

Surprisingly, Ientered Film class all prepared to catch up on some sleep as I thought we would be watching some boring and dry documentary – I was wrong.

The movie shown to us was one of the French Impressionist films; where deft camera techniques were being used as opposed to the Classic Hollywood Narrative Structure. Irreversible, was the name of the movie. It’s pretty cool how they twist the plots and scenes to make you go, “What the…?” and finally go “ohhhhh!!!!” at the end of the movie.

and I DID NOT FALL ASLEEP considering the fact I was lack of rest.  Instead, I was kept glued to the screen. However, I found the rape scene particularly disturbing. It’s so beastly till I had to turn away.
Sorry to digress but, that French babe was a sizzling hot chiqita!

.
2nd movie -We’re now watching a German Expressionism silent & monochromatic film, ciao!

oh, and I hope you’ feel much better now Melvin. =P =P

Film Field Trip!

November 5, 2007 by thejessicat

The Korean Film Festival is here again!

All of us classmates hit Gurney Plaza’s GSC on our Film field trip to watch ‘ The Art Museum by the Zoo’
Yeah, I went ‘?????’ when I first read the title – half wondering what I’m deliberately sitting myself into.
LOng? and that isn’t even all our tickets yet! =0

That movie seemed pretty touching, comical and wasn’t bad at all. Okay, well, that comment doesn’t count for each time I nodded off! The thing is, it wasn’t at all boring; only that I hadn’t had enough sleep the night before and succumbed to the likes of comfort provided by that cosy seat in a huge cold theater. ahhhhh @_@ tried so hard to keep awake for the sake of the assignment…. ZZzZZZzzzZZZ

ah yes, speaking of which, assignments people!!!! *groan*

But prior to that, my buddies and I had a hard time choosing where to eat :

Joyce: I want Dome!

Ivan: Secret Recipe laaaa
Denise: Don’t want the new BBQ Chicken place!
Jess: Sushi King!
Melvin: *points to a non-existent food outlet*

In the end, Ivan won. *claps* So its Secret Recipe for us all!

Melvin wasn’t too happy with the Chicken Cordon Bleu that he ordered and muttered that it didn’t look as tempting as it does on the wallpaper. Earth to Melvin dear, the poster on the wall is obviously for ILLUSTRATION PURPOSES! lol.

We had also discovered that Ivan’s Mathematical skills were going round and round in circles. (that picture wasn’t supposed to look like ANYTHING ELSE) Firstly, Denise was so frustrated for all the confusing calculations and Ivan then became confused as well. Melvin was cussing due to the perplexity of who’s cash goes where and how much who-and-who should pay.

Finally, the bill was settled to the exact cent, paid (no tips) and we left for that Korean movie. *phew*
Now I see why you guys hate Math. lol

Out with buddies!

October 9, 2007 by thejessicat

Newsflash: I saw poor cows stumbling and trying in vain to balance themselves

atop a lorry, which was driven rather recklessly.

Hmm.. that wasn’t very relevant now, was it? Haha. Well, somehow it is… they’re probably gonna be slaughtered for someone’s family dinner.

ANYWAY——-

Do we stay in or go out today? Haha.. Steph and I decided to stay in to watch a few DVDs – ‘Bratz’ and ‘Knocked Up’. The former made me reflect on true friendship ties and well, the latter seriously, it’s SO NOT happening in real life. I mean, hello? Earth to ladies? Which jerk whom you had a one night stand with from a club, would actually help you bring up the bastard child and eventually marry you?? Totally not in this world. Just look at society lately, one-night stands are just as equivalent to a fuck-and-run scene.

Oh and randomly, Steph’s aunt makes delicious cookies. My goodness. How I delightfully consumed those lil gastronomic sins are something you so don’t wanna know. =P So yeah, there we were staying in until we got tired of being tired. =) So out we went for some supper with Shino and Joyce.

We chatted and had some inaugural arm-wrestling matches. Oh, and… I don’t seem to know my own strength! O_o

Steph vs. Shino (stop pretending Shino!!)

Oh. And guess what? xP

I beat Shino. I beat Shino. I beat Shino. I beat Shino after a long and painful match. Muahahahahaaa. Or were you just giving me a handicap? I hope not.

We then continued chatting and emulating certain people till they had to shoo us out as it was already past the closing time at Subway.

The night was still young and we crashed into Shino’s crib to play some cards, and continued our pillow-talk. Well well… it seems that two of my very best friends had some misconceptions about each other. That was the day when they settled it and came clean… I hope. *gulps* But hey, it’s only human to have some lingering resentment lying within, ey? Just give it some time; it’s bound to heal. =)

two to four

October 8, 2007 by thejessicat

Benj had his day off again and we’re spending quality time together for 2 whole days again. Sweet ey? Then again, that’s not the sweetest thing this week. What surprised me most is that he requested for his off day to be on Monday as it has been a long time since he last saw me. It touched me so much when I discovered that you were making a resolution to be a better boyfriend to me in line with our upcoming anniversary. Love you lots dearie.

We stayed in on one day and went out on the other. Wow, talk about Resident Evil: Extinction. Benj didn’t expect it to be that good, but I knew it was so gonna be. Reason being, this was supposed to be the last saga and by the looks of it, I was quite certain it was to be mind-blowing. My favourite scene was the one with the gazillions of killer crows in it – all engulfing the sky with the massive flocks.

We decided to go for some dress-hunting for my prom later. I shop best with him; he’s an awesome shopping partner! But hey, we didn’t get around to it as WenHoong (an old friend) gave me a buzz in the middle of our movie, to go out for some dinner with the both of us. Yepyep, it’s BBQ Steamboat – just the four of us!

It’s all gooooooooood

Francis really made his buffet worth every cent!

It’s worth the cash, it’s really delicious! But umm.. you took too much stingray for me darling. =P

We headed up to Batu Fehringgi to purchase some DVD’s – I bought ‘Knocked Up’! Since it was nearby, we crashed into Benj’s house and surprisingly his house mates could still recognize me in their state of absolute grogginess. I was horrified when Clemence randomly said that he has all the while thought that I was incapable of conversing in the Hokkien dialect. HEY. That was ssssso last year man!

It’s goodnight for everyone!

Note to self: go clubbing more often with WenHoong & get him a chick.

Wings to fly

August 7, 2007 by thejessicat

Another day out and I’m lovin it! Imagine if my whole life was composed of that… *dreams* won’t that be merry? But then again, I would be like an uneducated and effortless person in life if that was to happen.

Anyhow, I love my semester break! Haha

Had even more shopping today! Hmm… If it weren’t for Nadiah I probably would end up buying more. She literally dragged me away from the shops  everytime I mentioned, “Hey, I kinda like that! Do you think it’s nice?”

I HATE YOU for doing that to me babe, but I love you for doing that. Thanking you all the way. That’s because Benj ain’t with me to do his job that you (horridly) took over today. =P

So let’s see, I bought more stuff and goodies! A pair of shades that has negative-positive motifs designed at the sides, a really cool Beadzone necklace and a ring, a Vince & Co. bangle, a psychedelic babydoll dress and a bottle of nail polish. That MNG belt is still waiting for me!!! =) We hit the movies after that and had a teabreak. Oh, by the way…

*drumroll*

DISTURBIA IS SUCH A FANTASTIC MOVIE

I mean, totally. No joke! That movie kept me glued to my seat and watching in anticipation with full of suspense. Even when I just had had had to go to the ladies’, I realised that I naturally opened every cubicle first and looked around my surroundings repeatedly. Gosh. It freaked us out and I have to say, it was original. Ain’t those kinda typical movies where it’s just all predictable and boring. The plot was simply creative and the scenes were fab. Hey, stop reading and go watch it this instant. I don’t care if you’re lazing at home or had popcorn stuck in your nostrils from any previous movie you’ve watched. I’ll say it again and I really mean it – go watch Disturbia. Now.

Oh well, time to hit the sack. Gotta have enough rest for another day out tomorrow. Schedule?  Busting it out at the gym during the day and hitting the clubs during the night.

Ahhh.. Sweeeeeet
