Feel like lemonade? Or… beer? Can’t decide? Have both. The all-new Tiger Radler roars its way to Malaysia!

December 3, 2013 by thejessicat

Speaking of lemons, I can think of an endless list of things that can be done with that sweet yellow ball of citrus and zest.

Be it marinades for roast, a fizzy lemonade, a hint to baked cheesecakes, a hot glass honey-lemon drink for the unwell, sauce dips and more.

But what exactly does lemon and beer have in common?

I wonder what you can do for my Tiger Beer, little guys?

Received a huge parcel last week from Tiger Malaysia.

Imagine my excitement when I unboxed the package! Laughing

Very coincidentally, I was having a rather bad day and the message that came with my surprise came at a perfect time.

How apt! Cool I couldn’t agree more.

Though I don’t particularly like lemons by itself – DAMN, SO SOUR I CANNOT BRAIN THIS.

But one has to make the most of everything that life throws at them!

At once, I could sense that a new range of Tiger Beer was imminent.

But all I could do was wait…

A week later, this package arrived from Tiger Malaysia!

Double refreshment, eh? Let’s check it out.

When you just can’t decide between an ice-cold beer or a tropical lemonade to cool yourself down on a hot day, the all-new variant of Tiger Beer – Tiger Radler – fills that how-now-brown-cow dilemma! Wink

Count me in for a picnic with a carton of Tiger Radler, please?

Package unboxed. WOW. Just… wow!

Tiger Radler is an all-new variant of Tiger Beer that combines the crisp and easy-drinking taste of Tiger Beer with natural lemon juice to produce a beverage that is doubles in refreshment.  Wink

With a distinctly cloudy look caused by its all natural lemon juice content, Tiger Radler is set to be the perfect beverage for almost any drinking occasion with family or friends.

Behold the power of the mighty lemons.

Malaysia and Singapore will be the first two countries in Southeast Asia to introduce Tiger Radler!

Although Radler has already been a massive hit in Europe over the past few months – be sure to get the first taste of Tiger Radler at the upcoming launch party. This sophisticated brew will be launched in Malaysia on December 6 at KL Live.

Combining the crisp and easy-drinking taste of Tiger Beer with natural lemon juice for a distinctive beverage, the new Tiger Radler is set to bring double refreshment to discerning drinkers across the country. Cool

See you at the party this Friday!

Raise your pints to Arthur Guinness as we kick off the month-long celebration of Arthursday music parties!

September 18, 2012 by thejessicat

Let's celebrate the legacy of Arthur once again… all month long!

GUINNESS Arthur's Day 2012,  themed 'A Celebration Made of More', makes it comeback for Guinness fans and music lovers nationwide.

I was glad to be part of it too!

Inspired by Arthur Guinness' bold legacies, this year's series of month-long Guinness parties pays tribute to the founder of Guinness, a man who dared to make bold choices in his time.

What exactly did he do, you wonder?

Well, while other brewers boiled their barley back in the day, Arthur Guinness made the bold decision to roast his, creating a brew with more flavour, more taste and more look, which we now fondly know as the iconic black brew – Guinness.

Uh-huh! That's the one right there

I was invited to usher in the Arthur's Day series of month-long parties at the official launch party.

Hey, ho… let's go! :D:D

Made my way to the party!

It was held at Studio Lounge @ Tropicana City Mall

Yup, there you have it… the remarkable man made of more!

Hello there, Arthur Guinness

((STYLESHOT OF THE DAY))

Jessicat wears : Tribal motif dress by Miss Selfridge | Hippie plait headband by Diva |

Brass Guitar Pick necklace by Hard Rock | Audrey Hepburn tote bag from a bazaar in Singapore |

Cream diamante wedges by Vincci + |

MC Serena C hyping up the party and giving us a warm welcome!

The party saw a delightful spread of a buffet dinner for all its guests.

I helped myself to their rendang chicken, satay, carved beef and so much more

Enjoying dinner with some friends!

The many faces of Jessicat X Guinness

3..2..1….

And the party kicks off with a bang!

Quite literally, as confetti exploded everywhere!

The lounge was filled with shimmery streaks and glitter :D

Local pop-rock band, Underheadlights, were amongst the band performing for us

A few local bands & artists vying for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity happening at the end of the month!

They are Underheadlights, Car Crash Hearts, Once Upon a Time There Was a Sausage Named Bob, Rhythm Nation, SonaOne and Busco.

Yup, they will be battling it out for a chance to be the opening act for Creed at the Arthur's Day concert in Indonesia!

All the best! May the best band win

Need another pint for good luck? :D

No party is complete without its photographic evidence, yes?

Well… here they are!

Soon after, theboyfie and I decided to check out the much-talked about Arthur's Lounge.

It looks like a huge container/caravan thingy from a  distance.

Let's enter and find out….

Guinness draught stations were all lined up for guests to learn how to make their own pints!

One of the Guinness boys taught me how

I've always wondered how they made a pint so smooth, frothy and foamy!

Finally, my question was answered as I was taught how to make my own pint of Guinness.

Success! My very own frothy Guinness and I

Theboyfie had a hands-on experience too!

Both our perfectly made pints of Guinness!

Thanks Guinness, for imparting the art of making one of your draughts

Here's to a successful series of celebrations throughout the whole September.

To Arthur! :D

Speaking of which, my Sunday afternoon (Malaysia Day) was spent at Sid's Pub @ TTDI.

Headed there to attend one of the series of Arthur's Day month-long parties! :D

Jessicat wears : Black Camisole by GUESS | Cream High-Waisted Shorts by PDI |

There was so much going on, Guinness revellers buzzing all over the pub vicinity :D

Local bands served as our entertainment for the afternoon as well.

Just as I was entering Sid's Pub

Warm & cosy pub setting. Perfect for an afternoon of mingling over deep dark Guinness

Love their bar! I bet with the amount of alcohol stash they have, it could feed all alcoholics for a year!

The bartenders were such a friendly bunch

Pretty Guinness usherettes were present too

Decided to have lunch there too soon after.

We had an assortment of Chicken, Tuna & Cheese double-stacked sandwiches, Chicken & Pork Hotdogs

They were pretty damn good! :D

Thanks for the photo, Wilson!

Really? Allow me to have another sip then

Good food & good company!

Serena & I enjoying our pints!

The more the merrier!

A perfect frothy pint of your favorite black brew for a perfect sunny afternoon

Wanna have just as much fun as I did? Don't miss the next ones then

There are 5 more Arthur's Day music parties being held :

Dirty Nelly's @ KL Live : 21st September 2012

Backyard Pub @ Sri Hartamas : 27th September 2012

Beer Factory @ Sunway Giza : 28th September 2012

SOULed OUT @ Sri Hartamas : 28th September 2012

Laundry @ The Curve : 28th September 2012

You can always make your way down to any of those outlets to enjoy pints of Guinness at special discounts all throughout this month! :D:D

Thank you Guinness for a fun Sunday afternoon!

Perhaps it was love after all *winks* ;);)

Heineken New Bottle launch party with Ferry Corsten LIVE in Malaysia!

August 2, 2012 by thejessicat

The world's #1 international premium beer now has a new facelift!

To commemorate their new iconic bottle design, Heineken decided to throw an epic new bottle launch party and fly world-reknown Dutch DJ/Producer Ferry Corsten down to Malaysia to shoot their party to the skies even further.

Being an avid fan of Ferry Corsten & a frequent raver, Heineken's invitation to this party

just made my mid-week more awesome then ever!

After registering my attendance & getting the stamp on my wrist, it was time to go inside the party scene

I was all set to rave to the progressive trance beats and bombs of Ferry Corsten with my mates.

What could be better than raving with ice-cold Heineken to give you that boost of rejuvenation you need?

((STYLE OF THE DAY))

TheJessicat wears: Graphic cropped top by Forever 21 |

High-waisted skirt by a bazaar in Singapore | Red bangle by Diva |

Dreamcatcher by a bazaar in Singapore | Wristlet by Burberry

Gold Winged kicks inspired by Jeremy Scotts by Adidas |

The moment I stepped inside, I caught sight of the gorgeous new Heineken bottles in a glass enclosure.

Such a beautiful, sparkly display! :D

Heineken's new iconic bottle design

I wrote all about it here if you wanna know more! 🙂

My party-mates for the night!

By the time we stepped inside, the party was already in full-swing.

The music was resonating everywhere, the lights were bouncing back and forth & the crowd was pumping!

Partying to the opening acts of the night

None other than local DJ duo DJ Blink & DJ Xu of LapSap fame!

Sipping on my ice-cold beer while LapSap turns up the volume!

It was a delightful treat for all the guests tonight as the Heineken came in torrents of a never-ending flow!

Everybody loves Heineken!

Some party piccies of my buddies and I at the Heineken Progressive Tour.

Let the happy faces of the partygoers roll

Soon after, our MC of the night –  MTV VJ Utt, welcomed us all again and gave a toast to Heineken!

HIP HIP.. HOORAY! To a successful bottle launch party!

Cheers! Let's clink our bottles & savour the goodness

We were then shown a short introductory video clip on Heineken's New Bottle.

I was enticed. It was really well done!

It was a lovely insight on the new Heineken iconic bottle design.

After the video showcase, it was time for the main act of the night

Sparks from the fireworks broke through the air and guess who finally made his appearance?

Ferry Corsten!!

Specially flown down to spin for us at Heineken's party,

Ferry Corsten's 2 hour set was roaring to go!

The entire party scene transmorphed into a massive indoor rave party in a flash!

It was insane. Totally reminded me of how good Ferry was!

The last time I partied with him was at the christmas party in Zouk!

Podium dancers then appeared with their rather flashy, neon outfits

and entertained us with their eclectic moves

Here's a close-up on the dancers! Epic costume, ey?

We be getting our kicks on to the lights of Electronic Dance Music!

While we were raving close to the stage, the security guards & bouncers kept ushering us further away from the stage and shoo-ing us to retreat.

We thought they were just being anal and a bunch of party-poopers but we were so wrong!

Giant spurts of fire burst out from both sides of the stage periodically

No wonder we were being shoo-ed away!

They just didn't want us to get charred by the immense flames!

Safety first! Why, thank you so much for making sure us guests weren't prone to danger :)

Okay, back to the party!

Ferry was as good as ever that night.

He played his well-known tracks such as Punk, Radio Crash, Sweet Sorrow, We Belong, Into the Dark, Brute as well as remixes of other DJ/Producers tracks such as Tiesto, Marcus Schulz, Swedish House Mafia, Avicii and many more!

We went absolutely mad headbanging and shuffling to his tracks

Stopping for a photo!

Taking a short break!

Draining our bottles of Heineken was a perfect way to cool down before raving again

Indeed.

Ferry continued escalating the party momentum to infinity and beyond!

Towards the end, confetti burst out everywhere

It was truly an event full of jubilation, celebration and merriment

Congratulations on your spanking new iconic bottle again, Heineken!

Thank you, I had a fantastic time being a part of your celebration tonight

Heineken ‘Progressive’ Tour: HEINEKEN launches their new iconic bottle with Ferry Corsten LIVE in Malaysia!

July 11, 2012 by thejessicat

Heads up, party people!

Tonight is the night where Heineken will be throwing a party to commemorate their new bottle launch!

Heineken's new iconic bottle features innovative details that provide a

contemporary appearance & enhance the overall drinking experience.

And guess who's who's coming down to Malaysia to turn up Heineken's party dial?

He's the world's number 18th DJ specially flown in to party with us….

*drumroll* Dutch DJ Ferry Corsten!

Ferry Corsten when he last flew down to Malaysia!

I've personally been to one of his gigs before and I've gotta say, he's really good.

My fave songs from him are 'Punk', 'Sweet Sorrow', 'Feel It' and 'Live Forever'

Ferry Corsten & I while he spins!

Bad photo, I know. But that's the only one I've got! :D

Tonight's exclusive invite-only party is all happening at KL Live, Malaysia from 8.30PM onwards

To score passes to this event, log on to Heineken's Facebook page to try your luck!

SO……. HEINEKEN'S ICONIC BOTTLE.

WHAT'S NEW?

The new bottle now has an embossed curve – inspired by the label 'racetrack' – on its neck & back.

The back features the same curved motif set above an embossed Heineken logo & the iconic star

A slimmer body & an elongated neck appearance

And here's my fave part –

The curve acts as a thumb groove, perfectly placed to meet the drinker's fingers as they grasp the bottle

I'm all set to party with Ferry Corsten & the World's #1 international premium beer!

See you there party people! 😀

Sum 41 LIVE in Malaysia 2012! A special Rockaway Showcase: Screaming Bloody Murder tour makes a stop at KL Live on 14th April 2012

May 16, 2012 by thejessicat

It was the day where punk rockers, who grew up in the 90s could relish with hardcore joy.

It was the day where 2000+ fans queued all evening and gathered with one sole motivation.

14th April 2012. It was the day where Sum 41 rocked our Malaysian stage!

Sum 41 LIVE in Malaysia 2012

Yes. I am certainly one of those punk rockers at heart.

My teenage years were the most significant memories of my punk rocker demeanor.

Sum 41 was a band that I remember rocking out to – on my own – within the confines of my bedroom

And now here I am at the upper deck of KL Live watching my teenage idols perform LIVE

Remember I ran a Sum 41 contest here? Well, I'd like to congratulate the 3 winners of my contest again!

Hope ya'll enjoyed the concert as much as I did 🙂

Bumped into one of my winners for the Sum 41 contest.

Congrats Melissa! 🙂

My lovely assistant for the day – buddy Pamela

8PM | Bunkface kick-started the party as one of  the opening acts of the night.

They sang 4 songs altogether.

Bunkface on stage!

Rocking out with their guitars!

Playing 'Extravaganza'!

And 'Silly Willy'!

Those two are my favorite songs from them 😀 Too bad they didn't play 'Through My Window'!

I loved that song heaps!

8.30PM | One Buck Short took to the stage 😀 😀

They sang '10:04'. Hurrah! I remember singing to it last year in my car all the time when it played on radio.

Don't wake me up! This is our love song!

t

Rahul, lead guitarist of OBS! 😀

He was amazing and definitely a man of talent

They performed a slow rendition of  'Puppy Love' as well

What I found really impressive was their cover of Katy Perry's 'Last Friday Night'.

It was such a brilliant metal version, complete will all the growls

OBS introduced a violinist who played LIVE! It was a terrific accompaniment to their songs

10PM | No sign of Sum 41 just yet. We had been waiting for an hour!

People were starting to get a tad restless after the long wait but there was still merriment in the crowd.

Pam and I camwhored our boredom away!

What I found really amusing was the way people find such delirious ways to entertain themselves!

The audience from the upper tier started throwing free drinks to the audience below.

While everyone else started to freeze and sing our national anthem, 'Negaraku' and bursting out into random sing-a-long songs.

10.30PM | Finally! Sum 41 broke the frustration with a sudden grand entrance

All the dissatisfaction and rage immediately transformed into high levels of energy from the crowd!

Stealing the show with their Screaming Bloody Murder tour with 'Screaming Bloody Murder'!

Lemme introduce you to the band members of Sum 41!

Lead singer & guitarist Deryck Whibley!

Bass guitarist and backing vocalist Jason McCaslin!

Lead guitarist & backing vocalist Tom Thacker!

Drummer Steve Jocz!

Over 2000 fans queued up as early as the afternoon began! Talk about some die hard fans here.

And hours before Sum 41 rocked the stage, the entire KL Live was packed with crazy punk rockers coming from all over Malaysia and even foreigners who made their way here to watch them live!

Left side of the stage!

Right side of the stage!

When Sum 41 began playing their signature songs from the earlier albums, both the upper tier and lower tier were roaring with people all ready to rumble!

I had my fair share of yelling (singing) along to my fave songs

Derryck and Jason giving the crowd one they'll never forget

They continued with 'Reason to Believe' and brought the house down with 'Hell Song'!

The crowd began to crowd-surf amongst each other.

There's a video at the end of this post! We managed to capture a guy surfing away 😀

Throughout 'Hell Song' , Derryck began cherry-picking people from the crowd

Picking out another one!

Bet it was hard to choose; everyone would kill to join Sum 41 onstage!

The crowd was yelling, screaming and jumping as much as they can to be THE CHOSEN ONE 😀

Just keep choosing and bringing 'em people to your stage, Derryck!

He brought up not one but FOUR people up on stage! Saw some of them giving Derryck a big hug.

Everyone got real jelly when they saw that and went 'HEYYYY!!!!' but it soon changed into an 'AWWWWW!'

Turning the mic towards the crowd so we can sing the bridge for him!

NOW I'M IN OVER MY HEAD!

FOR SOMETHING I SAID!

COMPLETELY MISREAD!

I'M BETTER OFF DEAD!

The crowd got into the zone and began to whirl up a massive circle pit in the mosh!

Their next song on tonight's playlist was 'We're All To Blame'

Performing a beautiful rendition of 'Walking Disaster'

I must say, eventhough I haven't been catching up or keeping myself up to date with the latest songs off their latest album Screaming Bloody Murder, I truly enjoyed their newer numbers.

Sum 41's new release of tracks felt darker, deeper, less punk-rock – routing slightly to the metal rock genre

Sum 41 performing 'Time for You to Go'

The next two songs were 'In Too Deep' and 'Motivation'. Boy, I swore I could feel the reverberation throughout the whole upper deck!

Imagine 2000 people, upper and lower tier, jumping and headbanging at the same time.

We be causing our own tremor in KL Live!

Sum 41 letting Steve Jocz have his moment!

He definitely stole the limelight throughout his drum solo!

The continued their performance with 'Sick of Everyone', a number off their latest album as well.

Despite it being one of their newer songs, die-hard fans knew all the lyrics by heart.

Now that was impressive… and so much undying love for Sum 41!

ROAARRRR WHO WANTS SOME HEAVY METAL!!!?

To our surprise, Sum 41 gave us a few short performance-covers of some really popular metal songs.

They covered songs by Ozzy Osbourne, Iron Maiden, Metallica and a few others.

After 'Underclass Hero', another twist was in store for us.

Derryck then passed the mic to Tom and he gave us a stellar guitar solo and vocal performance!

Woooootwoooooot!

Tom's guitar solo

Derryck's guitar solo

T'was great seeing how all the band members of Sum 41 were so cooperative and supportive of one another onstage.

Such wonderful showmanship! Their transitions and performances jived seamlessly

Jason and Derryck began picking out more people from the crowd to join them onstage

"I choose you!"

Performing 'Still Waiting' off their 2nd studio album Does This Look Infected?

SO AM I, STILL WAITING?

FOR THIS LOVE TO STOP HATING?

'Still Waiting' was another one of my favorite Sum 41 songs and I enjoyed headbanging and yelling throughout the song.

It was mayhem! Another circle pit started in the mosh again and more crowd-surfing soon ensued :D

It was so insane till a point where security had to come and keep things back to an orderly manner LOL

Don't want anybody to get hurt, ey? 🙂

Keep moshing but be safe, fellow punk rockers!

The boys of Sum 41 performing a cover of 'We Will Rock You' originally sang by Queen

(encore)

After that performance was over, the crowd was already soaked with perspiration and brimming with their own heat.

The temperature rose and many people were seen pouring bottles of water over themselves.

Some even splashed their water on Derryck!

Oh you wanna play huh?

Let the games begin!

WATERFIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Derryck then grabbed his waterbottle off stage and splashed it towards the audience in retaliation

Derryck was soon outnumbered. The waterfight just kept going! 😀

Sum 41 proceeded to perform their final song of the night, 'Fat Lip'.

For those of you who have been listening to them back in the day, you would know that 'Fat Lip' was the very first single released off their very first album, All Killer No Filler, back in 2001.

Geez, how time flies!

The final twist of the night : drummer Steve Jocz takes the centerstage and wows the crowd on the mic!

There you have it, the boys of Sum 41!

This was the first time in all the years of my covering gigs/concerts that the drummer actually got down

from his drumset to steal the show with the microphone instead

It was impressive no doubt!

Sum 41 then threw out guitar picks and drumsticks to the crowd.

Everyone flocked to wherever those goodies were being thrown to! Now, I wish I was at the mosh too 😛

They gave us a bow after their stunning two-hour performance

Although it was a pity that they did not perform 'Pieces', which was a crowd-favorite (I could hear people chanting Pieces! Pieces! Pieces! as early as 10PM!), we enjoyed their live performance and all that wait to see them perform in the flesh right in front of our eyes proved to be worthwhile.

Only a true fan would wait for hours (rain or shine)and still support a band to the end and back.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npZja2Iaagk&feature=plcp

Here's the video of the night

Thanks to Pam for the footages & thanks to Kon for helping me edit them!

WATCH EEEEEEEEEEEEET 😀 😀

You've made these two girls very happy and proud of the music we grew up with

I'm sure the entire crowd of 2000 exuberant fans can vouch for what I said

Freddy Mercury approves 😛

Sum 41 made us, punk-rockers so proud tonight!

We wish you all the best for the remaining stops of your Screaming Bloody Murder tour

A major shout-out to Rahul of One Buck Short and Livescape Asia and for putting together this amazing one-night-only show for us and making it happen!  I had a terrific time, thank you!

Tonight's special Rockaway showcase was indeed, brilliant.

Can't wait for the Rockaway Fest this year!
