Loved the exclusive Johnnie Walker Black Circuit VIP raceparty @ 32 Mansion, Penang! The glitz, the glamour and razzle-dazzle of it all

September 1, 2011 by thejessicat

Yay finally!

I wanted to publish this blogpost earlier but decided to wait till the official photos were out by Johnnie Walker too!

And I’ve been collecting other photos that I was tagged in on Facebook by my friends too.

Sorry if this post took a while! I promise it’ll be worth the wait. Teehee.

So yes, I arrived at the premises with my invitation

Oh and I absolutely loved how they crafted the invitations. Such a classy feel!

It was in the form of a gold cuff/bangle in a beautiful shiny, black box.

Thanks for the photo, Minny!

They also gave a gold necklace to the ladies(which you will see me wearing) and a gold tie-pin for the gegentlemen as doorgifts.

This was the location – 32 Mansion – of which was decorated in a really elaborate manner!

So, are you ready to party with Johnnie Walker?

I sure am!

At the entrance

Camwhored  for a bit before stepping inside the Black Circuit

Oh and you can see the gold necklace rather clearly in this piccie!

The moment I entered the mansion, I was in awe.

They’ve transformed the insides into something so magnificent!

Was served Johnnie Walker cocktails the very moment I entered

Decided to give ALL the cocktails a taste!

The ones in the front row: Gold Rush | 2nd row: Black 75 | final row was my favourite, Black Circuit!

There were booths available for the whiskey tasting!

Guests were taught the RIGHT way of savouring it

And no, the trick is not to gulp it straight down….

Teehee.

The bar where mixologists were doing their thang!

I never miss an opportunity against the photowall 😀 😀

Thanks for the photo, Jun Fook!

There were a couple of booths for guests to ‘check-in’ our location to Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare too

After I was done mingling and drinking at the foyer, I explored further around the mansion

And found my table!

Thank you Johnnie Walker, for giving me a table and having it strategically right smack in the middle of the dance floor, facing the DJ console too!

They made my day even before the party started! 🙂 🙂

Before we knew it, emcees of the night Hanson and Hannah kick-started the event.

Lights, camera, action!

They gave us a very warm welcome and introduced the 1st DJ of the evening.

Hey homeboy DJ Reeve, do your thang & spin that shizz on the decks for us tonight! 😉

DJ Reeve from Malaysia!

My close knitted homies came soon after. Was so glad to see them again!

As I spend most of my days in KL, I always look forward to our hang outs everytime I come back to Penang

There’s more of us, but they’re laaaaate! 🙂

You’ll see them in a bit

My babes and I.  Loves!

Apart from my very own homies & other bloggers, I bumped into friends from the industry too

Throughout the event guests were served not only free-flow of Johnnie Walker Black Label, but also a torrent of delightful chocolates! A delicious assortment of white, dark and milk chocolates kept coming at me as though beckoning me to have more.

And you all know how much of a sucker I am for chocolates. Simply couldn’t resist!

Say whaaaaaad? 😛

Oh yeah. Chocolates galore. A generous amount was served to us!

I was made a very happy girl yet again.

Yes, chocolates make me happy, if you must know 🙂

Apart from all those awesome-pawsome things about the party so far, was the fact that I got to rekindle with some of my childhood and high school bunch of tfriends all over again.

Heck, I’ve not seen some of them ever since we left school!

Penang gurls in the haus!

Girl Guides of the same patrol back in 2005!

Classmates in primary school and squash mates in high school!

Convent girls of 2006/2007 all grown up

More of my fellow Penang peeps!

Wootwoot

I was psyched how the Black Circuit party brought together so many familiar faces; especially ones whom I’ve lost touch with. I was practically fluttering around to many different tables and coincidentally bumping into more and more old friends!

And Johnnie Walker was perfect as our toast to friendship!

Oh and ya know what’s also great during the event?

The fact that polaroids were given out to remember the night. Absolute WIN!

I’ve mentioned numerous times before; a party is never complete without a photo souvenir for keeps

That makes all the difference; compared to the usual digital photos uploaded online

We kept downing our drinks; but never fail to stay within limits.

As we keep in mind to drink responsibly – as advocated by Johnnie Walker!

The emcees took to the dance floor again to “check” on us and how we were doing! 😀 😀

Also, the next DJ was announced. DJ FM from our neighbouring country, Singapore

It’s your turn to crank up the volume, deejay!

From the window, to the wall

This party’s jumpin’ till tomorrow!

We drink the whole bottle but it ain’t over!

Errrbody’s jumping 😀

Day-O, me say Day-O

Daylight come and we don’t wanna go home 😀

We were the 1st ones to hit the dance floor, babeh!

Josiah and I 🙂

Geez duuuude, your complexion is way better than mine haha! *jealous*

With buddy Calvin

With my babe, Minny!

Oh yes, another family photo of my homies!

(Still incomplete LOL)

Ren and I!

Let’s let’s let’s get it started in here!

Flanked by Eric and Jun Fook

Emcees were back on the dancefloor!

I honestly couldn’t remember what they were saying cos I was having too much fun at the time.

But I jolly well knew when they welcomed the 3rd and final DJ of the night!

Let’s take it to the skies, DJ Teemaree!!!

Read about my interview with her: here

Had a chance to sit down for 15 minutes for a short but enlightening interview 😀 Check it out yo

Another family photo with the homies with DJ Teemaree spinning in the background!

Bumped into EVEN MORE friends that night!

Eric who pimps my Blackberry!

With Chia Li!

OMG I DID NOT JUST DO THE ASIAN “5” POSE. What’s wrong with me?! -__-” argh!

DJ keep it movin!

I raved so hard when she played the electro-house tracks.

Hell to the yeah!

Boss Selva and I

Ahhh…. Back in the days when I was the photographer for the Mois!

Smile for the camera! 🙂

Two very tired (and slightly tipsy) bloggers

THE PARTY WAS STILL ON FULL SWING TILL THE WEE HOURS OF THE MORNING!

Now that’s what I call a flippin’ awesome party.

No party shall end before midnight, in my books!

And most definitely not a night like Johnnie Walker Black Circuit parties!

My highlight of the night: I rubbed my eyes twice/thrice when I saw my best friend Joyce in front of me

She was supposed to be my plus one for the party; something came up so she had to pull a raincheck on me

Imagine my surprise when I saw her – with her invitation that I saved for her? Geez. How did she get it?

Found out that one of my homies took out her invitation from my box and passed it to her outside!

Apparently I did not notice while I was partying the skies down and my cellphone battery died on me

So, finally, FAMILY PHOTO COMPLETE!

(Except a few who weren’t at the party)

GUESS WHAT!!?

Also found out it was DJ Teemaree’s birthday!

So we’ve come to the end of this lengthy post. I hope it was worth the read!

Seriously, what’s there not to love about this party but it’s entirety? I’ve said all I needed to say and….

I give it a 5 star rating; very apt with its 5 star standard!

I went home with memories of arguably the most fantastic party of my life ever since I returned from Australia

Thank you once again, Johnnie Walker for bringing us an amazing night.

The Black Circuit Penang night was stellar; more than honoured to be your guest! See you around at the next party!

Keep Walking, you sexy beast of a Striding Man 😉

 Much love, TheJessicat

Where it all began

March 23, 2008 by thejessicat

When I was back in high school…..

*

is what every school leaver would say.

But hey, not me. Because I am in high school. Not was. Am.

lawl
if only.

But technically, I am back in my high school grounds.
Or was?

okay nuff with the crap.

After sending my lil bro off to NS, I headed to my alma mater with my good friend, Vincent the Mamak. It sure felt familiar just like how it was back in the old days, with the cacophony of CGLians chattering & laughing about.

I owe it to my high school junior, Clarissa, who never fails to keep me updated with the school’s ongoings every year. Huggss babe! Oh and, when I was back, she treated me some pizza. Such a sweetie. =)

Another junior whom I never knew existed (and perhaps vice-versa) was Cara Ooi. How we became friends was through the strangest means! Ya know the old blog of mine, from LiveJournal? Yeah, that was how we became friends. And goodness me, we were from the same high school and in the same uniform body! Amazing how the WorldWideWeb can bring people who are so far yet so near, to get to know each other.

—Hey Cara! I know you’re reading this!! ♥
Glad we finally met up in person! —

I was so glad to see Yellow House dominating the first place again. We’re the defending champions for many years in a row! *beams*

Anyway, this was the tug-o-war match between yellow & blue. *boo* to the latter. OOPS. Did I just say that out loud? =P

And when the event finally ended, there was the marchpast by all the sports houses & the uniform bodies. Just like it was back in high school! =)

Oh, and for the record, I actually managed to capture a picture with Christmas Tree. I mean, Pn. Salmah. =P Yeah, that’s her. Looking as descriptive as the nickname depicts.

Christmas Tree & I

And I hate to say that I was the one responsible for that nickname she now holds.
>_< *SHH*

CGLians rock!!
.Simple in Virtue.
.Steadfast in Duty.

In reminiscence

October 6, 2007 by thejessicat
PMR is now over. All third formers rejoice
However, the battle shall continue; haunting fifth formers in schools near you.
————-SPM———-

I remember how insanely focused I was prior to SPM – I wanted my string of A1’s more than anything at that moment. If I set my mind onto something, there’s no way it’s gonna leave my head. My revision preparations were enough to put Spartans to shame (haha) but once I entered the battle field in the school hall, it wasn’t as tough as I thought it would be. Hmm.. I remember freaking out big time after the Biology paper as I wasn’t in the right state of mind. Yes, I was riding through the turbulence of rough seas a day before the Bio examination, don’t ask me about it, history will not repeat itself. =) Benj, I’m sure you know what we went through. ugh. haha.

Whilst at Secret Recipe yesterday with my babes, throngs of 3rd formers came storming into Gurney Plaza and many were seen idling around the al-fresco area.

Hurrah for you people! Half the battle is won.

Picture this:

Young girls in trainers with huge backpacks
and
young boys in baggy jeans with sling bags strapped across them.

What gives? Travelling in flocks and making a cacophony of jabbers
Pardon me. If you’re a 3rd former and none of the descriptions suits you or your friends.
Good on ya. But hey, I’m just generally relating what I saw for real.

I clearly remember what I did immediately after PMR. I headed to the bus stop with two seniors to meet up my dad; he was to drop us at Benj’s house for our Combined Training Camp patrol meeting. I spent my entire two months working my bloody arse off with my patrol members. In the midst of all the pressure and effort, I found wonderful friendship and discovered love.
Then – 2004

Indeed, that was when our paths crossed, Benj. ♥ We never looked back ever since.
Now -2007

How time passes so fast when we’re together.
May God shine upon us forever and ever

Classmates or old friends?

August 13, 2007 by thejessicat

After Felicia’s class was postponed, woo-hoo! We headed straight to fill our tummy with some scrumptious and cheeeeesy foodstuff. Those delicious dip-its? Yupyup. =)

But what was cool is that we took SO MUCH salad.     Scratch that, a mountain of a salad. Hey, I wasn’t involved in the building process! Only the eating process was my part to bear. I take distinct pride in stuffing myself with cheese and not feeling bad about it. (until very much later, that is) We had so much fun visualizing gory descriptions of how it would be like to torture people in all sorts of ways. An example to share would be skinning a person by using a blunt knife and then pouring lemonade on our sweet victim. After that is over and done with, salt will be rubbed on every part of their raw flesh. ooh! And all of that was crapped up while enjoying our pizza.

Here we are – such a motley crew, no?
The masterminds behind the torture procedures

And what’s best is, I had a chance to meet up some of my old and not to mention, almost forgotten friends. Those were the days where we were all close back in high school. Even in kindergarten! We exchanged lotsa stories and pictures too

                      Jess and Wei Mei

Lai San, Kuen Mun and Jess

After that, I hit the gym and got myself a free cap for signing up my buddy Janice. Ya know, member-get-member scheme? Yup.

Poor Benj contracted my chicken pox and I went up to his place to pay him a visit. When he was busy showering, his mum and I snapped a few piccies.

Aight, gotta run. Have some Irwan assignments to complete. Ciao

This love is unbreakable

April 9, 2007 by thejessicat

Wise men from all walks of life one said,” Blood is thicker than water”. I find that extremely true; not just literally, but metaphorically as well. Born into a close-knit family, I was raised and nurtured by my grandparents until the age of four. Everything would be nothing without something called family and friends.

These are the people who makes, or at least made, an impact on my life. Because of you, I’m blessed. For anybody that was not featured here, a BIG appreciation to you as well; you know who you are. Thanks a million… this post is a tribute to ya’ll.

On the top of the list, is well, obviously, God. My Lord and saviour. My friend yet my guiding light.

My loving momma then comes along with my ‘fairy’ godmother. The awesome women in my life.. pillar of strength and oh wow. Everything!

Sizzling uber cool Uncle Mike! Laughter wouldn’t be laughter without you. You spoiled me like no other man can, with you I feel part of royalty.

 -oh, and yes-
My mother’s husband. Thank You for the venom. I’m mentally stronger than you think I am. Enough said.

Grandma=porpor. You looked after me at a tender age; taught me my Mandarin. (but too bad I can’t remember much) Taught me how to behave and the hard and fast rules of life.
Grandpa=kungkung. My sand castle fantasy was brought to life with your effort of bringing the sand from the nearby construction site. We played so much ‘house’ and mopped the floor together- indelible.

My favorite couzzies, Shaun & Meng ahhh… my childhood was spent  with such fun playtimes with ya’ll.
 Three musketeers forever!

You mean the world to me, hubby Benjamin Tan taught me how to love and to be loved in returned.  Made me feel like a beautiful woman inside out. Love you always.

My 15 years with you was a bliss.
Kakak
my so-called mother, don’t you dare return to Indonesia!!!!

Rachel my sis-in-law… hehe not so perasan lar. My lil godsis thats brimming with attitude now. So glad she’s interested to go to my former school which I miss so much! Love being like an older sister to her… which I never had all my life.

Uncle Phillip & Auntie Karen-
Such close family friends till I often forget how we were all related in the first place! Looking forward to your every visit.. hugs.

My CGL mates who made my 11 years of school fabulous

and never can I forget Janice a.k.a Jano. My former tuition mate, classmate, bus mate, squash mate, whatever mate and even lives in my neighbourhood!

My dear classmates who made my college life worth livin’. Together we stand!  Love ya’ll.

Ladies first—-

Nadia– My 1st classmate I befriended. The calm & composed one, much as opposed to me. Level-headed too.. unlike me. Bubbly and fun to be with too!
Stephanie–
My 2nd mate I befriended. Sweet & cute, thanks for being a great listener.
Joyce–
A good friend to ‘buat lawak’ with. Our ‘lemma’s’ seriously ada oomph!
Lynn-
A fantastic shopping partner. It’s funny how we crossed paths again huh, old pal? Now, braceface! =)
Andrea–
Used to be known as Nadia’s friend. Now, she’s ours as well! An excellent public speaker… you’l be wowed.

Move over, here’s the dudes!———-

Cedric– Oh my goodness. Is that enough? Nahh. A blatantly frank person with an excellent sense of humour. Oh, and yes, stop dreaming about being Wang Lee Hom. (in the picture, he’s pretending to be gay)

Ivan– Always ‘lost’ in conversations. Pay attention and you’ll be fine. Nice person to bully though and thanks for making my dull classroom moments interesting. (he’s wearing a KDU tee in the pic above)

Alvin– A new addition to the our bunch of wacko’s. Known as ‘Badak’ which means rhinoceros in Bahasa Melayu. Loves conversing in Cantonese with me and quite gentleman, I must say. haha. Thanks for carrying my bag of rocks that was hurting my shoulder! *lol*

Melvin– A silent killer. Quiet at times, but packs a punch! Love hanging out with him. Lot’s to say deep down inside.. umm, but maybe not now…he’s on snooze mode at the moment!

All in all, thanks for being my part of my world!
