Fun times at Cosmo's World Indoor Themepark @ Berjaya Times Square | Nuffnang Glitterati Plus outing

November 28, 2010 by thejessicat

So I asked myself… When was the last time I ever had fun in a themepark?

Only to realize that the last time wasn't that long ago.

Remember when I was at Genting Highlands' outdoor themepark with the homies? That was tonnes of fun!

So naturally, I was rather eggcited when Nuffnang invited me along to join a day out with them on a sunny Sunday morning

Be prepared for the adrenalin rush!! 😀

However, it was more than I could take at one point. I could literally feel my ass being thrown out of the seat, while clutching on to the metal bar as tightly as I can, hanging on to dear life!!! ;(

But hey, it's all part of the good fun ain't it?

My point in case 🙁 🙁

God knows what speed I was spinning at, but it sure had me feeling a little woozy and seeing stars thereafter

Oh and if you were wondering why I'm dressed like that to a themepark, it's because I wasn't home since yesterday.

Was at the 7aste Monte Carlo event the night before (as you can see from the same outfit) and bunked over at a friend's place after a houseparty. Felt so inappropriately dressed to a themepark full of physical activities!

Thankfully, I had a pair of sneakers in my car.

Random shot with a random Ironman on stilts

I hardly ever get a chance to feel short and tiny when I'm out with my peers but taking photos with these tall men allowed to to somewhat feel midget-ish for a second. Remember these massively tall dudes when I was down in Singapore for Formula One? 😀

They were double my height!

Riding carousels and merry-go-rounds makes me feel like a child again, really. Especially colourful ones!

I picked this rather strange-looking seahorse

Don't know why but I look uberweird in this photo

🙁 Perhaps it's the distortion. heh

Didn't take long for it to start! Natalie and I had such fun making silly faces along the way.

Thanks for all the pics in this post, gurl

All of us then proceeded to more rides…

Oh this was the aggressive ride that we went on which caused the 2nd photo above

I bet everyone's arms and legs were sore for the following days after today!

Mine certainly was 🙁

Went on the train ride which toured the entire Cosmo's World

It was pretty fun as we got to see the whole place in one ride!

Like eggcited little children after a choo-choo train ride

There is a child in everyone! I don't see anything wrong with embracing that inner child in us

Actually, we didn't ONLY go on kiddy rides. All of us sat on much, much more aggressive rides than these chilling ones, but no cameras were allowed up there. See the rail tracks of the rollercoaster below? *gulps*

I don't think anyone wants their gears to be flung out skyhigh and land on someone's head (or someone's ice cream) below :P :P

Although that would be quite a sight to see! Hee.

Camwhoring with Vivien as we take the escalator down to the next zone 🙂

I love this zone, for they had Bumper Cars!!!

The one and only reason why I love Bumper Cars so much is because…

This is the only time I FINALLY get to be the speed demon I am, make illegal turnings, drive on the wrong direction, be a road bully, park everywhere I please and hit other drivers without getting into the long arm of the law! 😛

Thank you Robo Crash for making us all feel like road criminals for 10 minutes!

Had fun crashing into XinXian, Kak Mira and her kid, Michelle, Karen and the other Jess (in pink)

So my Saturday morning ended pretty swell, thanks to a fun-filled outing!

I reckon this is was the reason why I'm actually awake so early on a Saturday morning. Also, had good day shopping at Chic Pop fashion bazaar in the afternoon

That kept me a happy little girl throughout the day

A day out in the sun flying kites by the lakeside at Taylors University! Thanks to Churp Churp

October 19, 2010 by thejessicat

Okay okay!

I reckon I have blogged enough about my maniacal never-ending nightlife for the time being already LOL 😛

So here's something a little different for the day. Something fresh, "healthy" and sunny – completely not dripping with booze of any sort!

I went kite-flying in the humid – yet windy – afternoon sun!

By the lake with ze huuuge kite! Pretty & colorful. Loves!

Having returned from another night of mayhem at Zouk the night before, I was surprised I didn't wake up with an after-party hangover.

Thankfully I managed to get outta bed, freshen up & got out the door in record time! Didn't wanna be late for Nuffnang's Glitterati+ meeting in the morning and subsequently, this Churp Churp 'Fly Kite' outing.

I see my Twitter profile pic on the Churp Churp bunting! 😀 😀 Do you?

If you don't have me on Twitter yet, it's @imthejessicat hehe

So yes, the Glitterati+ meeting was good. The word is finally out and open to the rest of the Nuffnangers. I've been one of the pioneer members of Glitterati+ for quite some time now and it has been a fun ride indeed. Hence, I do urge all active Nuffnang bloggers to join as well! 🙂

Right after the open meeting, we had a short campus tour around Taylors University Lakeside Campus. No wonder they're so proud of their Uni! It's omfg-outrageously-fabulously-impressive.

Makes you go, whaaaadd have I been missing in my tertiary education years?

Why was I born so early? This campus is magnificent! *jawdrops*

Here we are by the lakeside at Taylors Uni. See those buildings on the left? One of it is their library.

And on the opposite side, there's the "commercial" area of the campus. Here I am standing by the walkway. Can you believe that beside me lies a Starbucks, Subway, Old Town, Wong Kok Kitchen & Face2Face Noodle house, among the many others?

(pic credits to Simon)

Looks like im standing on a pier right? 😀 With the whites, the balcony & the water in the background

Waiting for my ship to arrive LOL!!

Lady luck was on our side today as the weather was just perfect for a kite flying activity!

I was a little paranoid though, fearing that it would rain or end up being all dark and stormy ;(

BUT I WAS WRONG! Look at how merciful the weather man was to us?

Pretty kites Green Octopus, Smiley Bat and Rainbow soaring up, up and above! 😀

And what's that dangerous creature below I see still alive in Year 2010???

Dood, you're like supposed to be waaaaaaayy extinct with the other bros and hoes of your kind 😛 😛

Wrong era, dragon! This is 2010!

Not 800 b.c or some ancient milestone where you giant lizards belong

It was plain to see that almost everyone was having fun playing outdoors – instead of  ramming their fingers on the keyboard – for once!

Kite flying. Such a classic! Prior to this, the last time I ever held a kite was with my late grandpa when I was 6?

I would scan my 6 year old self flying a kite for you if I could but I don't have it with me as we speak 🙁 bummer.

 (pic credits to Mohd. Zaid)

But here's the me flying a kite 15 years later! All grown up 😀

Hey! Kite flying is not easy okay!! You think DOTA only need strategy ah!? 😛

Skills are needed to recognize the direction of the wind, how much force used to pull the nylon string and so much other kite-technicalities I don't wanna even go there LOL.

I took forever to beam with pride upon seeing my rainbow kite soaring higher than the buildings! 😀 😀

hahahah yes Tim, I know it was hard to get it up & to make it stay up 😛 😛 ahem.

For girls hard also! *giggles* XD

I do admit though, I had problems with my kite! ;( I can haz emo kite. It kept tangling up all over my hair, my wrist, my body & even my shoes! Maybe my kite was the black sheep of the kite family, who prefers to be dragged on the ground instead of flying high in the sky.

WEIRD KITE.

sucks to be you kthxbai.

But nothing stopped my attempts! In fact, I ran like sorhai (madp*ssy) all over the place while yanking the nylon string of the kite trying my utmost best to let it stay up in the air!

LOL Simon was also running like sorhai trying to get his Smiley Bat kite flying in the air

While I was struggling after numerous attempts (my kite never stayed up above for more than 30 seconds!) I decided to pop into Starbucks for an ice-cold Java Chip. Perfect for a sunny day! Was drenched in sweat you would never believe me! 🙁

"Ima happy kite!  Smiley kite! Nothing can ruin my d…a..yy.. uh oh. wait.

I'M CRASHINGGG INTO TAYLOR'S LIBRARY! I shall put Osama bin Laden & his Al-Qaeda clan to shame!"

Haha. What can I say? I had an amazing Saturday afternoon despite only having 3 hours of sleep.

As expected, I headed home to zonk out for a couple of hours before heading out and about again 😀

(pic credits to Simon)

THANK YOU CHURP CHURP FOR SPONSORING US SUCH A FUN-FILLED DAY!

Much love

Our short weekend getaway @ Langkawi Island! Of booze, chocolates & fireworks. HOLIDAY!

August 29, 2010 by thejessicat

Heyyy!

How was your weekend everyone? 😀

I headed back to give my family a visit and while I was browsing through some piccies, I realized that I long for another well deserved holiday so much! Well, MATTA Fair will be up and running next week and I just can't wait to choose the awesome packages there.

So lemme recap my weekend in Langkawi with the boyfie Josh some time back 🙂 Realized that I haven't blogged 'em yet!

Departed from Swettenham Pier in Penang Island with the ferry.

Camwhored like crayyyyzeee!

When we reached, the first place we hit was the beach! 😀

And decided to photobomb each other in the midst of narcissism

it wasn't planned! Bwhahaha

What a coincidence

Fast forward!

After playing in the sand like lil kids, it's time for some extreme sports 😀

Motorboating yo!

That thing can go almost 300km/h yo

Took a ride! The seas were vicious but we still managed to squeeze a piccie

Thankfully, the speedboat didn't topple over!

We were speeding ala too fast too furious! Right in the middle of the rough waves

Take a look!

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyNCQbHK1Bk

Josh superfreaked out lest I drop the camera into the deep depths of the sea

Nyehehe

But I didn't lor!
 All safe and sound

Here I am acting all macho like I own the waves!

Bwaaaahaaha 😛

All done with riding the seven seas :P

What an adrenalin rush!

This overdue holiday was done at the start of 2010!

That time, my red highlights of 2009 had faded off already

Let the rain fall and wash away our writings in the sand!

Chilled out more at the beach and walked along the stretch of bazaars! I went absolutely bonkers shopping for sun dresses, bikinis, hair clips and whatnot!

And then nightfell. Had a good night's sleep back at the hotel

And before we knew it, it was the next day! A whole new day of activities lies ahead of us

Went for a traditional Chinese massage!

I did the reflexology! Ima fan of foot massages, in fact in every island I visit, the reflexology is a MUST do! 😀

Here I am getting tortured LOL

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hc0g_tTqidA

When you're laden with stress, I'm certain it'll hurt pretty bad!

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsBzVcGo5HM

And here's Josh getting himself tortured as well

I mustered whatever Mandarin I can to get the masseur to massage him harder! 😛

Did some shopping and dinner thereafter

Awwwwwww adorable max!!

And how can we forget, chocolates!

Here are some of my faves… Guylian's seashells

Dinner at a seafood restaurant! Langkawi's pretty fehmes for its seafood

Loved the Pineapple rice there too! We had calamari, fish, soft shell crabs and much more

Our last night at the beach.

Thought it would be nice to sit warmly by the bonfire

And it was huge!!! 😀

Not to mention extremely glaring too

A beautiful arsenal of fireworks made their way through the nightsky

The display lasted for almost 5 minutes!

Headed off to the Bird Paradise park the next day

So much birds! I had fun feeding 'em too

Cockatooooooooooooo

And it was time to go off already!

Time seems to stop whenever you're on a holiday ey. 🙁 🙁

Goooooooodbye Langkawi!

We'll be back again for the fun, the booze, the beach and the seafoooood!

Short weekends trippin' are the best way to renergize yourself for a brand new week ahead.

This year, I'll be heading to Pangkor Island, Tioman Island and Bali if everything goes smoothly as planned!

*crosses fingers*

When two adults play at night in a deserted playground, what do they actually do?

July 26, 2010 by thejessicat

Hahaha. So the title caught your attention, didn't it?

Well as suggestive as it sounds, we all know what goes bump in the night. Many a time, I've driven/walked past playgrounds only to find two heads bobbing up and down behind the park bench or the bushes. I bet you -at some point in life- have heard stories or saw it for yourselves too.

The last time I ever stood in a playground was more than 10 years ago.

How sad.

So one fine day after dinner, theboyfie Josh and I decided to walk around to ease our bloated stomachs. Apparently, digestions seems quicker that way LOL! Not long after, we spotted a playground.

oh yes. A full-fledged colorful playground!

Have you actually sat down to reminisce, what was your favorite plaything at a playground?

Or in fact, can you even remember each and every single equipment that a playground has?

I don't know about you, but I certainly do not.

We're gonna find out tonight … and if we're lucky,

we might even get to see some unorthodox "activities" there too *wiggles eyebrows*

Okay so there were the swings. We played on them for a little while, only to find out that the soles of our shoes scraped the pavement below so hard that all the friction spoiled any bit of fun we had on the swing. Bah humbug!

We then proceeded to the huge equipment with lotsa playthings jutting out from every side. Totally reminds me of that big bulky equipment in the gym where the body builders always hangout! Guess this is the kiddy version of it huh

It was relatively high. Probably about 6 steps above

But it had safety bars there in case anyone falls

Got photobombed by theboyfie again. RAWR. Anyway as you can see, there were lotsa platforms

Enough for 20 kids methinks!

FLASHBACK!

When I was little, my playmates and I made it our "station" especially when we played Catch. The "it" wouldn't be able to catch us if we had any contact with this safe station. LOL memories! One of my friends in pre-school burst into tears because we refused to move from the station.

Poor girl didn't like being "it" for so long. 😛

And then there was this tunnel thing which may look pretty big from this angle

but believe me, we couldn't actually crawl through it

Not that we actually got ourselves stuck inside to testify that

But well, we did TRY crawling in

And of course, there was the age-old slide. I reckon no playground is complete without it, really.

FLASHBACK!

When I was 5, there was a protruding nail on the wooden slide and when I slid through it, you don't exactly want to know what happened to my shorts and the back of my thigh. Ugh. Nasty!

At least this one is made of plastic. Childsafe! 😀

The huge colorful "station" was really huge that it even had TWO slides adjacent to each other.

This slide was somewhat different from the typical wooden and diagonally-down slides.

This one was spiral! Hey. I didn't have that as a child.

I actually thought of giving the slide a try after more than 10 years but decided against it because theboyfie said we'd prolly get stuck inside and the management would have to oil/grease us out of there. LOL!  Hey, we're not thaaaaat huge!

We climbed up higher and found this…

There was this steering wheel which practically steers…

nothing.

Unless this is some playground from the movie UP and when it rises up with helium balloons, I could steer us all the way to South America! Now that would be fun 😛 😛

So we continued exploring and found this Tic Tac Toe thingy on the other side of the playground

I think we played about 3 times and nobody won!

🙁 🙁

I guess old tricks die hard! 😀 Little did we know that we spent almost an hour at the playground. A fun way to spend the late night!

And if you were wondering, no we didn't see any spooky beings nor incorrigible acts. Whoopeedoo!

Watching the live streaming of 2010 South Africa FIFA World Cup now! Streamyx please don't lag on me

June 17, 2010 by thejessicat

Yayyyyyyyyy!!!! Greece beat Nigeria to a 2 – 1 !! 😀 😀 😀

I won back the money I lost on last nite's matches

Now show me your sexxayyy pose yaw!

Arrived in Penang today just coincidentally when Korea vs. Argentina began! 😀 😀

Funny how I was standing by the curb watching it outside Austin Chase, Queensbay Mall upon touching down via Aeroline

hohoho!

Yet another exam, Contemporary Worlds I (International Studies) has just ended today! Brought in 3 ball pens with a quarter ink left and came outta the exam hall with 3 empty pens. Gosh! That's an immense waste of ink like I illustrated on my previous blogpost – no joke!

Random photo taken today on the way back from Uni after exams 🙂

So it's 3 down, 1 more deadly paper to go! Authorship and Writing next week, now I bet my other Monash seniors who took this subject can quite agree with me that it's a fatal one 🙁 🙁 oh noes!

ANYWAY

I told myself that if I don't zonk out early today, Imma watch Spain vs Switzerland for the full 90 minutes! 😀 😀

GO SPAINNNNNNNNNNNNNNN #esp

I'm rooting for Espanyol babehhhhhhh!! Placed down a bet of 50bucks! Hope my predictions are true! Yeah, THAT'S for missing so many matches during the past few days due to exam revisions… bahhh humbug.

Anyway, goddamnit! Switzerland just scored a goal and it's now already down to the last 10 minutes. COME ON SPAINNNNN! DO YOUR THANGGG! Let the Swiss stay famous for their watches alone, don't let it be the same for football!

Oh and from another point of view, here's some funny moments during the Spain vs Switzerland match that I'd like to share :

Ouch. that must've hurt

nasty! But sometimes, I reckon ya gotta fall in style

"I reckon if I stiff my pits 8 times in a row, we'll defeat Switzerland. Fo shizzle!"

Me encanta mi axilas! Vamos a ganar 😛 😛

Dude, I like your Puma socks.

They're in my favorite color

the Spanish Sergio. 'Nuff said 😀 😀 *shy*

and don't you dare lecture me on my messy desktop!

Thanks to Shitmyx connection, my browser froze and all I got was this scary person

staring back at me in a tiny window for 10 whole minutes

I swear if you fell any further forward you would taste some neat Suisse 😛 😛

*wink*

It's Bromance time! 😀

Let's hold hands tightly and dance around in circles hehe

"I think I just let out gas. Oh that felt good"

Let's hope the photographers behind you think so too, shall we? 😀

Another thing I noticed,

Why do all coaches have to look like a typical oscar the grouch?

grumpy in any angle any shot at any given time

And bald too.

It's a must, really. Just like school headmasters

and Indian Malaysian politicians.

(that's a wig if you don't already know) oops.

Anyways, i gotta run! Watching the game now.

PLEASE DO NOT LET ME BE 50 BUCKS POORER

BY THE END OF THE MATCH!!!

Update:

ohnoes. this result doesn't look too well for my wallet

alaaa. Congrats anyway

but I still support your Swiss army watches anytime than your players 😛

I reckon the whole world lost a lot of money too after Switzerland's win. BUT COME ON!! Spain lost? For real? No shit? How is this possible? No waaaayyyyyy… to Switzerland, of all countries? That's really strange.

Could it be rigged?
