Hennessy Artistry is back for 2010! Bunkface, DJ Sarasa, DVJ G Mix & Beatboxer Shawn Lee this 19th March, 9 PM @ The Opera, Sunway

March 11, 2010 by thejessicat

————

JUST GOT WORD THAT THE RSVP LINES WERE FULL WITHIN 20MINS OF ITS OPENING!

IF YOU STILL WANT TO ATTEND THIS PARTY,

OPEN A BOTTLE OF HENNESSY (ADMITS 2) OR OPEN 2 BOTTLES OF HENNESSY (ADMITS 5).

Hurrryyy!!

————–

One of the most awesome parties of the year is back in style! After attending numerous Hennessy Artistry installments throughout the past year, I'm definitely looking forward to the 1st showdown of the Artistry series of 2010!

Party hard – the world is your dancefloor πŸ˜€

For those not in the know, the Hennessy Artistry series is a global music phenomenon blending the East & West talents of music. Malaysia's not the only one celebrating it! We'll be partying with Hennessy Artistry in Shanghai, New York, Taipei, London & Berlin – albeit not co-currently πŸ™‚ A pretty damn huge scale of a party yo!

Check out some of the piccies of the previous installments of Hennessy Artistry in various locations and clubs with ma party people πŸ˜€

Music powerhouses like Fatman Scoop, The Ying Yang Twins, Caprice, Starz Angels Flo Rida, Joe Flizzow, Boys Like Girls, Lap Sap,  and more, they brought down the house and whipped the crowd into raptures! Like c'mon… who wouldn't be partying their arses off with talents like these?

i.e : Fat Man Scoop & Starz Angels

So this time, book your dates for 19th March 2010 and make your way to The Opera located in Sunway. It's adjacent to Sunway Pyramid and standing very conspicuously along the main road πŸ™‚ Ya won't miss it! Lemme prove it to ya

Told ya you wont πŸ™‚ Ya gotta be visually challenged to miss an impressive club like this

Oh and since we're on the topic of the club itself, lemme show you around The Opera so you can get a better idea of how it is inside. This was when I was there on the launch of this new club. It's pretty damn awesome if I'd say so myself πŸ™‚

Don't ask about the reindeer horns – I went there during Christmas πŸ™‚

Oh and, It's not called The OPERA for nothing. Check out the similar interior design you would normally see in a real opera house

View from the bottom

On each of the bar tables

Pristine royal-like armchairs!

The mainroom

Some shots of the ground floor and the crowd πŸ™‚

As you go upstairs to the next floor, you will be greeted with a really cool (pun intended!) ice bar! πŸ˜€

Love the relaxing blue theme.

Oh and.. hunky foreign bartenders served me on my last visit *cough*

Another section of this floor would be this red hawt area with balconies over looking the ground floor. Ya know how traditional opera houses will have artistic performances and such? Likewise in The Opera, expect to see artsy performances too πŸ˜€

Yup, that's what the balconies are for

Anyways, as I was saying about the 2nd floor ….

Check out the bar πŸ˜€

On the highest floor is the Conservatory, it's open aired too! Hows that for al-fresco chillaxing over some ice-cold Hennessy on the rocks πŸ™‚

Love the lights! Pretty sight of Sunway city from up above πŸ˜€

Promising a colourful blend of music right in that very club which you visually toured, delectable Hennessy VSOP long drinks and an expected crowd of 2,000 sophisticated clubbers, the astral party will raise the bar once again this year to provide fans with more interactivity and fun.

Psst.. there will be 2 brand new cocktails in addition to their 3 popular ones

We welcome the new Hennessy Citrus & Hennessy Berry!

Setting the tone for the party at The Opera is the Hennessy Mixing Zone which gets a facelift and will feature 4 new and improved zones – the Hennessy Mix Master, Hennessy Mixing Bar, the Hennessy Digital Light Art Effects, and a Hennessy Live Twitting Zone. Heard that?

This means you can tweet live from the event itself and your tweet will be broadcasted throughout the evening!

This time round, the stellar line-up includes musical talents from Malaysia and Japan. Highlighting the party is Tokyo based DJ Sarasa (also known as Silverboombox) whose one of the most acclaimed Japanese DJs. This turntable kitten will bring the house down with her blend of highly-energetic Hip Hop, Funk, Disco, Soul, Breakbeats and House music.

Joining her on the H-Artistry stage is local rock quartet, Bunkface whose catchy tunes coupled with their addictive energy and fun filled performances have captured the attention of everyone tuned in to the local music scene. Their hit 'Silly Lily 'ranked #1 on Hitz.FM’s Malaysian Top Ten for 8 weeks. Their latest single, ‘Through My Window’ garnered much attention of the online realm

Revelers can also expect to be blown away by DVJ G Mix, one of the few individuals in the country with the ability to ‘visualize sounds’ and to provide audiences with hypnotic, head-turning visuals. He has performed as the closing act for the Bangkok Invaders and most memorably, as the guest DVJ at Korean superstar Rain’s concert VIP after party in Kuala Lumpur.

I'm also glad that a friend of mine, Beatboxer Shawn Lee will be pumping up the crowd as well! He's the small boy with big sounds that you will definitely want to throw your hands up in the air to. No joke at all – take it from me. He's ranked #9 in the entire world in the recent international Beatbox Battle World Championships in Berlin! Ya gotta see him in action to believe his vocal boombox amplifiying from the speakers!

Don't be fooled by his innocent looks – every crowd he performed at  jawdrops at his performance

To know more about past events or to receive updates on the upcoming party, visit the official Facebook fan page: www.h-artistry.com.my/facebook or follow H-Artistry on Twitter: www.h-artistry.com.my/twitter. The party is strictly opened to non-Muslim guests aged 21 years and above only. ID verifications will be carried out at the door.

Log-on to www.-h-artistry.com.my to obtain your invites and passes to the Hennessy Artistry event!

You can check out photos of the artistes and even download exclusive desktop wallpapers and tunes too πŸ˜€  Go go go get ready to parrtayyyyy!

If you spot me amongst the crowd, do say hi! πŸ˜€

At The Opera, Hennessy Artistry 2010 will leave you seeing stars – oh how I anticipate!

January 16, 2010 by thejessicat
Heyyoo! Weekend’s here again and sore, aching limbs from Thursday’s session isn’t really a good way to end a weekend. Sniff.

They feature 10 rising stars from various fields – only one of which will be entitled the Martell Rising Personality Award. Who could it be this year? I only personally know 1 of them, which is Will Quah. So I was already rooting for him since the public voting season!

Yes I’m bias towards a friend, why not? You would too, fo shure!

Hence, the Martell Rising Personalities Awards is recognizing these 10 aspiring young individuals who have risen above the competition to achieve a certain measure of success in life, while embodying the spirit and values of the Martell VSOP brand.

For those not in the know, Lara Bangsar is actually a huge bungalow located along Jalan Maarof. It’s really spacious with a nice rooftop floor with a jacuzzi! One by one, the guests arrived in limos and dashing cars parked at the valet.

Visiber’s Bible of Numbers unleashed! | Royal Chulan Hotel

December 14, 2009 by thejessicat

Now who would’ve thought the world and its latent energies were actually revved up by numbers, symbols and so on? Well, I kid you not! No it isn’t a new religion neither is it a strange propaganda.

bible

It is a natural phenomenon which I have just learned today. Every being or soul owns some form of potential energy within it, and numbers are able to heighten one’s natural aura surrounding it.

powers

Liberal splashes of red, gold and other metallic colours were in harmony in every nook and corner.

welcome

Visiber founders Dato David and Dato Patrick

Thanks to Crescent Edge Consultants, I was invited to the Grand Launch of the Bible of Numbers, the first installment to many more books to come.

photowall

When I stepped into the al-fresco area and ballroom of Royal Chulan Hotel, I was simply impressed with the entire set up and interior decor!

insidesinsides2
behold

To be very honest, the entire launch of the Bible of Numbers was magnificent! Such an event held on that grand a scale with hundreds and hundreds of invited guests, various overseas celebrities, VIPs, scrumptious food, performances, special effects with flames and mist, 3-Dimensional videos and so on.

Charity is such love!

The food presentation itself was a class of its own! Very impressive indeed. We were served with a 6 course Chinese dinner throughout the night, alongside many mind-blowing performances

poplock

There was a dance group that caught my eye though. If I am not mistaken, they are a group of dramatized dancers from SMJK Sam Tet, Ipoh. When I first thought that it would be just another performance, I was thoroughly wrong.

jacksons
presley

This dance group kept my eyes fixated to the stage and at times, got me into fits of laughter! There was a cultural dance revolving around all types of eras around the world.

chaplin

18thcentury

We feasted our eyes on the ancient Ming Dynasty, Shanghai Nightclub scenes, Charlie Chaplin’s silent era, Elvis Presley, the Jackson 5 Breakdancing HipHop styles and so much more!

battle

Hands down! It’s the most energetic and eye-opening performance I’ve ever seen.

There was also a magician flown all the way from China!

tada

She made our jaws drop as she effortlessly changed from one costume to another in a blink of an eye and whipped out decks and decks of cards from her bare wrists. The chinese fan was another prop that was seen deftly being thrown and flown in all directions resulting in huge roses appearing outta nowhere and more!

Visiber also showcased their jewelry products, whereby your number (calculated from your birthdate) will be made into forms of diamonds and paired with your colour (also demoninated by your birthdate). My number is 8 and I would need a 7 to make my combo.

After more performances by magicians and very talented people, the event came to its closure. All in all, I was very pleased to have witnessed the (very) grand launch of The Bible of Numbers and learnt so much from there!

None of this would have been made possible without the founders of Visiber cum authors of the Bible of Numbers. I’ve already flipped through the very huge hardcovered book and its chapters, to find that I’ve taken quite an interest to know more!

MC Asia Music Factory “The Beginning” | KL Live, Life Center

December 12, 2009 by thejessicat
Remember the event announcement which I blogged about [here] ? I made my way there immediately after a loooong tiring day out in the hot sun, shooting away. Was looking forward to just wrap up my day with an ice-cold beer and some techno boomz!

So there I was at the M.C Asia Music Factory “The Beginning” event at KL Live @ Life Center. It was an after party following the educational workshop on making DJ-ing a professional career, the revolution of digital music, evolution of music labels and music production.

change
Crystal and I went courtesy of Mypartners Communication
who extended us the invites

I didn’t expect to see her there, and neither did she. We bumped into each other at the photowall and went “HEYYYYYYY!!!” haha. Love your poncho-like top, gurl πŸ™‚ Also, I brought some friends in under my guestlist to enjoy the turntablism for the evening too.

So let’s take a look at who they are

joshuaaaron
BWAHAHAHAAH Joshua and Aaron’s expressions
How can you not love ’em?

bokjunjoshua
Brought Bok, Jun and yes, thats the same Joshua as the earlier photo
Here we are upstairs at the VIP area to grab our drinks
Eventually went downstairs because it’s much more fun there πŸ™‚

wilsonrach
and Rachel & Wilson too!
Check out the amount of Tuborgs on our table LOL

ken
and Inariprawnello Ken

I managed to catch local DJ Affiq and Funko Munky spinning when I arrived. As it was still way too early into the night, the crowd was dissapointing. People only started pilling in gradually towards midnight.

marcus
This Swedish DJ and electronic music producer spun his magic
fingers at the decks from 10pm for an hour plus

He played well and it got some of us to the dance floor letting our hair down! Sadly, I was wearing booties that very night so wasn’t mobile enough to join the doods shuffling πŸ™ Hah! I remember old buddy Rachel and I used to kick off our high heels and just shuffle and jump on the dance floor whenever we clubbed together

preach
Next up was DJ Preach all the way from Canada!
His beats were faster and incorporated some r&b rhythms

By 11.30pm lotsa people were there raving about right in front already. I was amazed at the amount of diverse people in this club. There were African-Americans, Brits, Australians, Pinnoys and of course Malaysians too.

alexjacken
Got tired from dancing and sat down with
Alex, Ken and Jacque at the table πŸ™‚

Couldn’t stay till the very end as I had an early day tomorrow morning, So I MISSED DJ MARCEL WOODS! /sob I was actually anticipating him all night though. But lets just hope the shufflers and poppers dancing right under the DJ console enjoyed themselves for me! Woots

Took a final piccie at the photowall before I left!

photowall
Thanks to Alex who shot this which
made me look apparently very tall and thin
(one of those rare pics which doesn’t make you look fat!)

Oh and just yesterday out shopping with Erin, I spotted something which looked really adorable. Silly things! Lady Gaga hairbows are all the rage for lazy peeps or peeps who ain’t got that long a crowning glory!

gaga2

Lady Gaga wannabes, she’s sucha freak ya just gotta love her.

But I ain’t blonde, HOW? πŸ™

MWAH!
I wonder if I will ever be a psychotic enough
to emulate her look one day πŸ™‚

Juara Music Video | BRANDS Generasi Hebat

December 3, 2009 by thejessicat

Just got back from an extremely short trip to Penang for an appointment with Hard Rock Hotel’s Communication Manager Elisa Saw, over lunch. I had a Salmon Steak and Chocolate Ice Blended – which were my top faves in Hard Rock Cafe!

meelisa

Can’t believe she only had Wild Mushroom Soup and a bowl of French Fries, like seriously babe, that’s all? Coolios. She kept yammering about needing to go on a diet, well the only person that needs dieting is certainly not her! It’s me LOL πŸ™‚

Thanks for the awesome meal yo!
Cheers

Anyway, remember the BRANDs Generasi Hebat launch I attended with Jaclyn and Cheesie [here]? Well the video is finally out for us to see!

After seeing the vibrant, fresh and talented ambassadors in the flesh, I was more keen than ever to watch the entire MTV video of it! Once again ,they are Hafiz, Aril, Akim, Black and Choo Hou Ren who were performing on stage during that launch!

Happy to share it with you guys πŸ™‚

It’s in Malay and Mandarin – love how it all jives so well together. Oh and, I simply adore Hou Ren’s popping, locking and dropping moves! Smooth criminal yo, especially with his Mandarin rap verses. Totally owns! πŸ™‚

Heyyy did you also notice that the dudes in the video has something in common? No it’s not their gender duh, it’s THE GREEN TIE which I blogged about [here] !

So you know what to do if you’ve read my blogpost on The Green Tie. You’re just a Green Tie competition away from a trip to Hong Kong Disneyland. For more info and to check out their Facebook App, clickety click [here]

Anyway folks, I’m back in KayElle already and I’m ready to rumble
Heading to a shoot for Martell for tonight. BRB! πŸ™‚
