An honest account – my experience at Carlsberg ‘Where’s the Party?’ 2013.

July 17, 2013 by thejessicat

Mystery solved.

We all know where’s the party now. wink

For days and weeks leading up to this year’s Carlsberg ‘Where’s the Party?’, I must say I was pretty excited.

They did a terrific job in hyping the party up! I too, shared the buzz and my excitement with everyone.

Goodies at my doorstep as early as a month before the party! A Nixon LED-silicone watch, a Carlsberg flashdrive

and six bottles of Carlsberg in a bag full of glowsticks, streamers and shiny tinsels!

The very week before the party, I received my invitation.

The bag contained earplugs, a neck travel-cushion, an eye-mask and a couple of Carlsberg bottles.

Granted, my enthusiasm grew as the days passed, but I was half wondering how exactly they were going to throw a “bigger and bolder” one this year, as last year’s epic tri-nation beach party certainly raised the bar to an apex!

Remember the teaser post I wrote for Carlsberg – Where’s the Party?

You can see plenty of photos of last year’s party there.

That being said, Carlsberg and team would most definitely have big plans to up their ante this year, in line with their claims of “Malaysia’s most epic party”, right? laugh

Wrong.

Unfortunately, ‘Where’s the Party?’ 2013 was, to many, nothing compared to last year’s mind-blowing instalment.

Don’t get me wrong.

This year’s ”Where’s the Party?’ 2013 certainly had its strengths, but not nearly enough to outweigh what it lacked.

Being an avid partygoer with a strong thirst for good celebrations, allow me to share my experience and elaborate my observations with an objective point of view.

Adhering to the time stated in the invitation, my partycrew and I adjourned to Serdang in the mid-afternoon.

Oh the suspense! I couldn’t wait to see what was in store for us at ‘Where’s the Party?’ 2013.

Where will we be taken to this year? Where will the location be this time round? laugh

Arriving at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) where we are to be transited to the party showgrounds.

Our transit bus.

So excited! Where will they be taking us?

The transit bus dropped us off at the registration area which was a mere 5 minute drive.

Arriving the grounds with my partycrew.

Up to this point, I predicted that this year’s Carlsberg ‘Where’s the Party? 2013 might most probably boast an aviation theme or incorporate in-flight characteristics to the party. Its tell-tale signs led me up to this assumption.

Goodie bags with neck travel-pillows, earplugs and eye-masks.

Chartering a transit bus bearing an airplane icon.

Hearing the familiar airport jingle

A welcome announcement by a female disembodied voice.

What else could it be? wink

Upon seeing the cabin crew/air stewardess uniform on the usherettes,

I knew for certain that I had predicted this year’s theme correctly. smiley

Then again, why wasn’t it held close to the airport if we were to be travelling somewhere (like we did last year)?

Hmmm.. maybe we aren’t going to be travelling anywhere this year then.angel

Konzy and I after receiving our “flight tickets”. smiley

BestiePam and I about to enter the party showgrounds.

And we were off!

Soon, it was confirmed that Carlsberg ‘Where’s the Party? 2013’ was all happening at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS). No, MAEPS wasn’t only the first location to assemble.

It was THE LOCATION – the very answer to Where’s the Party?

Though the location was no where as impressive as its predecessors, Golden Palm Tree Resort in Gold Coast Sepang (2011) and Hard Rock Hotel in Penang (2012), I was certain (and hopeful!) that this year’s party would be just as fun as the one held in Carlsberg Brewery in Shah Alam (2011).

After all, it doesn’t necessarily need to be in a resort hotel to ensure a good party in motion.

Good job in keeping the suspense on the high this entire time! yes

I was amazed when I saw the the giant signboard and entrance; very akin to the typical ones you see at airports!

WELL DONE yes

What’s even cooler, they had makeshift metal detector booths set up with “airport officials”

stationed to “scan” our bodies for any metal or weaponry before “boarding” our ‘flight”.

It’s the little things and effort paid attention to in enhancing a theme of a party, that makes me happy.

I loved how they utilized every opportunity to heighten our party experience from the beginning – a sign of a great night ahead I hope?

Cabin crew offering us cans of Carlsberg

The elevated DJ booth, resembling an airplane

Yup, the entire party was full-on, every bit of an aviation theme.

My partycrew and I walked to the first thing we saw – the games station.

Shot before playing.

This game was fairly interesting!

It was an action-memory game and we were supposed to imitate the airport runway security too.

Evidently I was having fun jumping LOL.

Final showdown between me and bestiePam as everyone else got kicked out LOL

Us players on the “airport runway”!

Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to play all the other games such as Loud Ludo, No-Sigh Flight, Turbalance and Safety Slide as I was asked to leave the game zone and head to the press conference which was to begin soon.

Ushered into the “departure hall” for the Press Conference.

Inside, I figured another reason why Carlsberg adopted the aviation theme.

It’s probably because winners will stand a chance to win themselves an opportunity to fly to Europe for the global ‘Where’s the Party?’ 2013 where Axwell will be performing. Hence the whole emphasis on a flight experience.

Isn’t that cool? cool

There was an enormous Antonov airplane inside the vicinity of the rave zone

I heard you could actually climb up and sit inside the cockpit to check it out! Dang, wish I’d known earlier! frown

But at the very least, I managed to get a picture with the propellers!

That still counts as something, doesn’t it? cheeky

The Managing Directors of Carlsberg Malaysia & Carlsberg Singapore making their grand entrance!

They kicked off the press conference in full swing

Mr. Henrik Anderson giving us, the media a warm welcome

The big bosses of Carlsberg making a toast! smiley

Jul 6, 2013 | At #Carlsberg #WherestheParty now! It’s fun so far. Lotsa games! Can’t wait to reveal tonight’s line up ❤ #WTP by imthejessicat on Keek.com

Up till this point, I was still in high spirits. How can I not? laugh I’m sure you can tell from the video above.

The amazing set-up, the whole ‘jet-set’ theme, the games – it was basically the entire initial excitement of the party that got me hungry for more of this year’s instalment!

….. until the line-up was announced.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not putting these fellas down; all I’m saying is that most media around me, including myself, was a little puzzled as to why this year’s line up was a far cry from last year’s eclectic entertainment.

During the interview session, a few from the media had also asked what was the reason behind the choice of this year’s line-up, being very different from last year’s.

However Carlsberg did an excellent job in presenting the line-up to us in airport shuttles! yes

First of the lot, popular local stand-up comedian, Douglas Lim

I was thrilled to have him as part of the line-up!

Local DJ Eva T

Eva T giving a short speech

Local DJ Funkzu

Offbeat rappers and singers, Nine Lives

3AM in the Valley, Big Skrptz from Australia and Joel Turner

MC Derrick and DJ Inquisitive

DJs Class and Ming Ming

German DJ Miss Nine

These girls got all the men wolf-whistling!

Korean ‘K-Pop’ girl band, Sweety.

And finally… headliners Swedish Dub House duo Cazzette

Tonight’s entertainment.

The view of the stage from afar

Funnyman Douglas Lim took the stage and cracked his usual arsenal of rib-tickling jokes up his sleeve!

Best part was when he sang his own rendition expressing his hatred for K-Pop

of popular Cantopop song, Beyond’s Hoi Fut Tin Hung.

It was my second time listening to that song now. I freakin’ love it! heart

Being Cantonese myself, and also despising the K-Pop craze, I could totally relate to his song!

For K-Poppers, don’t take offence, it’s just satire. laugh

Nine Lives on stage

They performed a good deal of classic rock and pop

My partycrew and I only stayed ’til mid of Nine Lives’ performance, before we headed out for a breath of fresh air, games and for a much anticipated massage.

To our disappointment, by the time we got out at 9PM, all the games’ booths and also the massage booth was already shut.

What on earth? frown We were barely in there for an hour and once we came out, it was a shame that all the fun, games and massages were over. I remembered back in 2011, the games and massages went on all night!

The iDarts booth was the only games booth that was open.

We had fun playing this, at least! smiley

The view of the stage from the crowd

It was well designed, it boasted a strong audio system, stage lighting, with both laser and pyro effects but ummm… the LED balloon container could do with a little more creativity as it looked like a giant corncob defying gravity, dangling in the middle of nowhere.

Rather out of place, no? blush

For their fourth time hosting Carlsberg ‘Where’s the Party?’ series of parties, MCs of the night

Patricia Knudsen and Joey G were looking very fine in their pilot uniforms.yes

The ‘jet-set’ theme was kept alive throughout the party. After seeing the ushers dressed as air stewards

and air stewardesses, it was only natural to expect the hosts to be donning aviation uniforms as well!

DJ Eva T on the decks

She was good, as usual, but most of us were wondering why the DJ booth was

errected in a way that her back was facing the majority of the crowd indecision

When we adjourned from the Press Conference, we were told that there was a free flow of food served.

But as we made our way to the food section, we could hear varying complaints of “OMG the food sucks” rather audibly from the crowd. We ignored the tell-tale signs, and instead, decided to try it out and judge it for ourselves – to our utter dismay. crying

This year’s meal : pre-packeted food.

As glad as we were to chomp down something (gotten really hungry after a long day!), we were appalled when we saw and tasted this year’s preparation of the food. sad

In the past three instalments of ‘Where’s the Party?’, a sumptous buffet spread of delectable local and international cuisines, various courses, comprising the sweet and savoury, appetizers, mains, soups, desserts and what’s more, with chefs present to cook our meals right before our eyes. I’m not even joking; it was that elaborate! cool

In comparison to those dinners which were marvellously catered, this year’s dinner was a huge letdown.

In plastic pre-packed packets of tasteless and very bland Nasi Lemak, Bee Hoon, Nuggets, Burger and Satays.

We deliberately tried out ALL the food on the table but none even came close. Who are the caterers???

The only thing decently edible were the satays – the only ones which vanished each time the refills came.

At least we had lots and lots of Carlsberg to go around to make up for it.

One of the main redemptions of this party was that the number of guests doubled from last years ‘Where’s the Party?’.

I bumped into heaps and heaps of my buddies! T’was great to see them and catch up. heart  Cue the pictures!

Unfortunately, like many others who left, we did not stay for the hoardes of free lok-lok steamboat trucks when the party was officially over.

But that was a fantastic surprise for those who stayed till the very end, no doubt! yes

My biggest regret is that my partycrew and I probably did not stay long enough to feel the heat of the party which seemed to pick up quickly after 11pm (I was there since 5pm!). Neither did I manage to catch Cazette, which I was so keen on raving to!

I might not be feeling as live wired nor into the night as I was very, very much hoping to be.

I wouldn’t say it was a horrendous nor bad party, it just didn’t live up to the high expectations we had for this year (especially after setting such high standards in the previous years) and underdelivered its claims. indecision

Leaving as early as 10pm with mixed feelings about this years party frown

We had to queue up, as many others were also waiting for the shuttle bus to leave the premises

I’ve looked forward to Carlsberg Where’s the Party? 2013 for months on end and was pretty geared up for an epic night. Thus, It was no surprise when I was pretty disappointed as to why I didn’t quite enjoy myself as much as I thought I would.

I guess I really wasn’t feeling it tonight. blush

But we all made sure we adhered to Carlsberg’s responsible drinking and safe driving advocacy.

So to answer the question posed – YES, we did have a designated driver smiley He is right in front of me!

In a nutshell, I must say that in comparison to the previous three Carlsberg Where’s the Party?’ versions that I have attended, this year’s party is by far the worse of the lot. frown From track record, I jolly well know that Carlsberg and its crew do posess monstrous capabilities to throw us kick-ass parties!

Better up your game! wink

Despite this year’s disapointment, I do look forward to next year’s Carlsberg ‘Where’s the Party?’ and what it has in store for us! cool

Carlsberg ‘Where’s the Party?’ is back! Blasting from last year’s beach party at Hard Rock Hotel Penang, where will it be this year?

July 2, 2013 by thejessicat

THE FIRST LOCATION IS REVEALED! TO ALL GUESTS OF

CARLSBERG WHERE'S THE PARTY,

OUR MEETING POINT WILL BE IN MAEPS, SERDANG!

————————————————————–

Before I begin, I'd like to warn all partygoers that Carlsberg's 'Where's the Party?' (WTP) is certainly not for the faint hearted, tired-after-one-hour, wallflower or the I-need-my-sleep kind of reveller.

Question: Have you got your battery packs all recharged yet?

Premised on the unknown, Carlsberg's 'Where's the Party?' is for those who are bold enough to take on a party of epic proportions because long hours of suspense and surprises beckons this Saturday!

Trust me, the wait is worth it.

Jessicat at last year's Carlsberg 'Where's the Party?'

2013 marks Carlsberg's forth installment since the first Where's the Party and we can only expect another bigger and bolder party this year. cool

I remember how I was taken for a long, mysterious ride with 1200 other invited guests from Malaysia, Hong Kong and Singapore for hours down the highway, up the mountains, around the winding roads just to experience Carlsberg's beachfront extravaganza!

The mystery was unraveled as we finally arrived and stepped into the famed Hard Rock Hotel on the shores of Penang island as the the party ground for Carlsberg's first ever tri-nation 'Where's the Party?'!

Wrote a bit about it last year! Read it – here.

And today, my doorbell rang. Guess what it was?

My invitation to this year's Carlsberg 'Where's the Party?'! wink

I know what this entails. Racking my brains for the answer, oh yes.

My being clueless on the venue and every other aspect, yet completely hyped about the endless possibilities that the unknown holds as the journey progresses.

Konzy and I tired after the long travels but energized once again

as we imprinted our feet onto the sandy partyground!

Ready for a flashback on last year's Carlsberg 'Where's the Party?' wink

I definitely don't need to be reminded of how terrific is was; but for memories sake, let the good times roll!

Water rides at night!

We had Kelis of 'Milkshake' fame right in the same room as us!

Internationally acclaimed acts and local powerhouses on stage

during the press conference with the top guns of Carlsberg.

A wide spread of a buffet dinner for us!

Konzy / Jessicat

Bok / Kon / Jessicat / Simon

Becky / Jessicat

Shawn Lee beatboxing up close and personal.

Watch him go!

Our hosts for the night, Patricia Knudsen and Joey G!

Mad August

Rubberband!

With former MD Soren. I wish you all the best in your Carlsberg endeavours in China!

Jessicat / Kim

K-Pop girl band Love Cubic

And again… for the lads wink

Oooooooooooooh bubbles!

Konzy and I at hanging out with some new friends after shooting some darts at the iDarts booth!

Twilight Action Girl spun the night!

Don't stop the music!

Jessicat / Ashley

With my party peeps for the night!

 Jane / Jessicat / Nana

We girls we going nuts where the music took us!

So did we! heart

Kelis' milkshake will bring all the boys to her yard, no doubt!

Such a diva and star-studded performer!

Ben / Shin Yee / Jessicat / Leonard

Kon / Jessicat / Ash / Ash (LOL. Sorry I had to LOL at this) cheeky

To top it all off, ice-cold Carlsberg flowed all night long. Who could ask for more?

Cheers!

French DJ Norman Doray took the night by storm with his house and progressive-house tracks!

Beach raves! Oh how I love! heart

By the end of the night, we found ourselves likened to beached whales on the shore.

My vision became exactly this after all that hard partying and madness. LOL

After a year-long break, I'm more than ready to take on this year's Carlsberg 'Where's the Party?'.

Are you? cool

Remember, what happens at WTP, stays at WTP!

While Carlsberg's lips remain tightly sealed, I only know that 'Where's the Party?' will take off on the 6th of July 2013, which makes it this Saturday. Only three more sleeps to Asia's most unique and raved about party!

Aside from that, I can also tell you that Henrik Juel Andersen Henrik Juel Andersen, new Managing Director of Carlsberg Malaysia, and Carlsberg Malaysia's Marketing Director, Juliet Yap, will play host to the epic party together with an array of international artists and DJs.

Last year's shower of Carlsberg balloons.

Who will be our entertainment of the night?

It's expected to be worldly this time around, with stars from the local and global party stage congregating under one roof. I trust their taste in music and performers, as Carlsberg always delivers on its promise of making it an epic experience. It better not dissapoint! wink

But the main question remains a mystery… where will it be this 2013? We shall see.

Rocking Club Miami Asahi in my beloved Penang island thanks to Asahi Malaysia!

June 28, 2013 by thejessicat

When you have neither the leisure nor luxury to jet-set yourself to world-touted party centrals like Las Vegas, Miami, Ibiza and more, you'd be a fool to miss Club Asahi parties transported right to your doorstep.

Such was the case for thousands of Malaysian hardcore party-goers as Club Asahi's series of parties returns this year after its debut instalment of Club Asahi Tokyo in 2012.

Today, I bring you Club Asahi Miami by Asahi Super Dry, Japan's No.1 beer!

On Friday afternoon, I was whisked away on a chartered roadtrip up to Penang island to experience a weekend of the infamous Miami heat. Let it burn, baby!

Already feeling the heat before I even arrived the shores of Penang

Brought Konzy along with me.

By late evening, our entourage arrived Penang and checked into our hotel for the night. heart

I was given a lovely suite in Northam All-Suites Hotel Penang sponsored by Advertlets Malaysia!.

More about my weekend experience at this hotel and a room tour in the next blog feature.

After taking a short nap (one can get pretty lethargic after a long journey on the road!) a hot shower and a quick dinner, we started getting dressing to the nines for the night ahead of us.

Candid mirror shot Konzy took of me fixing my hair

Sophisticated glam rock was my intended look for the night.

How did I do? wink

Just a closer look.

Made a short Keek video before I left my hotel room.

Yup, community service message included hahaha! I have done my part cheeky

Jun 21, 2013 | I still prefer #keek over #instavideo so here's my keek too! 🙂 See ya party Penangites at Club Asahi Miami! xo by imthejessicat on Keek.com

We headed out the door to wait for our chauffeurs to the party venue!

Arriving Soju Room, Penang Times Square

It was impossible to miss the party venue for Club Asahi Miami as the entire forefront of the underground Soju Room was plastered with decorations, red carpets, spotlights and of course, the booming music that can be heard from a mile away! wink

With the Asahi SUV!

With buddy Casey at the enormous ASAHI 3D signage

My mandatory photowall shot wink

As it was my first time partying in Soju Room, Penang (Don't chide me! I usually party in the clubs lining Upper Penang Road), I got a little lost in this meandering underground passageway full of escalators, turns, routes and rooms.

I'm not complaining! It heightened a sense of suspense in me! cool

Where to? Obey the signs ahead!

We finally got closer and closer!

We followed the sounds and it lead us to the heart of the party.

The Asahi crew passed me my VIP tag upon arriving. International Superstar Jetsetter: Jessica Tan?

Why, thank you. Ya' got that right, Asahi! Hahahahha. cheekycheeky

I'm ready to sizzle with this infectious Miami heat.

Upon entering.

We headed upstairs to the VIP zone where our table was. This was my view from the top!

Let's roll out the first batch of party pictures I took upstairs with my buddies, shall we? laugh

Olivia / Jessicat / Rosalyn

Daniel / Jessicat / Grace

Amanda / Jessicat / Audrey

Jessicat / Erica / Rosalyn / Josh

We clinked our bottles of Asahi, took in the headbanging music and turned our party dials on.

Actually, my party spirits had already began soaring high the moment I stepped into the partyzone.

The crowd was kept growing and growing as the night progressed

Hot Russian stunt-dancers literally filled the air!

I shot to euphoria and started headbanging vigorously when the live band started performing a very impressive vocal version of my all-time favorite drum and bass track, Pendulum – Watercolour as well as heart-throbbing heavy dubstep, hardstyle, liquid dubstep, complextro, trap, glitch hop, drumstep and more drum and bass! yes

Well, well, I was beyond impressed that such niche EDM music sub-genres were the choice of entertainment at Club Asahi Miami as most events I've attended are almost always catered to mass music listeners and permeated with remixes of more popular and mainstream, American Top-40 songs.

Now, THAT'S music to my ears. Good job, Asahi!

You just shot my night above and beyond even before I got started.

This ripped bad-ass guy covered in tattoos in the red mohawk?

Who is he? Gosh, he was the man! heart

He had a voice to die for. It complemented those fast-paced electronica tracks so well! yes

More performances and dances ensued by performers brought in from Miami

He and his bevy of dancers fed us with a deep and booty-shaking performance – serving after serving!

We were partying really hard upstairs until I decided that I'd join some the rest of my buddies downstairs!

Yeah, you guessed it. I'm a sucker for the dancefloor cheeky

I hope you're ready for another batch of party pictures!

After all, what's a party without your buddies? wink

Minny / Wayne / Jessicat / Kon / Lin Chong

With the bestieJoyce heart

Ken / Jessicat / Kon

Jessicat / Erica / Rosalyn

Mr. Nasty and GuruGuru took over the revolving decks!

My favorite notorious local DJs took the party by storm as they helmed the night with their deep, dark sounds of hardstyle, electro, dubstep and big, experimental 150 beats per minute sounds. yes

It's no wonder I absolutely love them. My partymates and I had our fists pumping the air like we just don't care!

Party punters armed themselves with glowsticks and committed their souls to the dance floor

Drop it nasty like you always do, you wicked, dynamic duo cool

And we be partying till the morning light!

Jason / Jessicat / Kon

Minny / Jessicat / Kon

Aptly named Club Asahi Miami, what would this party be without Miami's popular DJs?

It would be incomplete without tonight's headliners – DJ Henrix and Kyroman straight from the US of A.

DJ Henrix' lush melodies, pumping beats and funky tunes took Club Asahi Miami to another level!

Talk about versatility. Hell yeah.

Dressed to represent, DJ Henrix came decked in a red Miami Heat basketball jersey!

Dear Asahi, I wish to personally tell you that the music for tonight was impeccable.

Hands down! I was flying that night; high on Miami's music, remixes, sets and tracks!

Towards the end of the night, we began having fun with the photobooth.

Here's photographic evidence cheeky

If you thought the temperature couldn't get any higher, Club Asahi Miami certainly proved us wrong.

For another energy-driven, party spirited performer had us in raptures. Let it flow! yes

Kyroman joined DJ Henrix on stage!

So honoured to have watched the half-man half-robot himself in the flesh, Kyroman.

He has always been the link and energy that ties the artist with the audience. Such an entertainer!

Spectacular sounds, electrifiying energy and the true spirit of Miami's party scene was on the high that night.

Although we were treated to the best of electronic dance music, ambience and entertainment according to the Miami theme, tonight was probably just the tip of the iceberg of how they actually do it in Miami, Florida.

Looks like I gotta go there for myself if I wanted more! wink

Thanks to Asahi, I now know how hard the Miami partygoers drive their weekends at the very least – and I'm loving it!

Taking a short rest on the very comfy armchairs at the patio of the VIP deck

Let's party again until the sun comes up!

Brace yourself for the final batch of party pictures wink

Jason / Jessicat / Kon

With my babe again, Minny! heart So happy to see her everytime I return to Penang

Chonke / Joyce / Jessicat / Kon

Amanda / Jessicat / Audrey

As our entourage were about to adjourn for a late night snack before returning to our hotel,

the party was still roaring to go! I too, wasn't ready to leave just yet!

Many thanks to Asahi Malaysia for having us at your night! heart

I had a great time letting my hair down, chucking my high heels to a corner and jumping along to the fast-paced beats resonating from all corners of Soju Room.

Wow. I haven't partied this hard and nor have I taken the meaning of clubbing to such an apex during a glamorous night in a while! yes

June 20, 2013 by thejessicat

I’ve just returned from my beloved island from an immensely hardcore party!

But no, I’m not going to write about that just yet.

Instead, I’ll be sharing with you a star-studded and posh night made of all things glamorous.

Just a quickie blog feature though. Enter: Hennessy Artistry Penang and Hennessy Artistry KL!

Ahhhh yes that oh-so-familiar bottle of rich, smooth blend of cognac

My fave blend amongst all Hennessy cocktails.

Unlike the previous one held at Straits Quay Convention Centre, Hennessy threw this party with equal force at the other end of the island instead, at the Subterranean Penang International Conference & Exhibition Centre, or fondly (and conveniently!) known as SPICE Penang.

Again, I looked forward to returning to my quaint yet exciting island for another round of epic parties.

Arriving SPICE Penang for Hennessy Artistry.

As I reached the venue rather late into the night, I missed the earlier performances and only got to watch the two DJs of the night, Andy Murphy and Nicole Chen. But hey, I was cool with that! Electronic dance music has always been my thing. heart

DJ Andy Murphy on the decks with his thumping electronica set

I was lucky enough to have a word with him when I spotted him sitting on the couch beside mine at the VIP Zone. What are the odds?

Usually, DJs hangout backstage. But he was also given a table to party and host a bunch of his friends who came.

DJ Andy Murphy and I

Upon posting up this photo on Instagram, an Australian DJ friend of mine told me that Andy is really one of the nicest DJs he has ever met and spoken too. I couldn’t agree more!

Not only was he talented on the turn-tables, Andy was such a sweetheart! So easy-going, friendly and fun to talk to! We managed to strike a decent conversation that night. laugh

I had a brilliant time raving to his music while catching up with my homies from the island!

Here are some party photos with my Penang buddies and I.

Ivyonne and I

Chris and I

Krystal and I

Alton and I

and a whole lot more whom I didn’t manage to take photos with! blush

I think this shows how much everyone was enjoying themselves that night.

The final DJ of the night Nicole Chen

I actually had heaps of fun with her music!

Her set was versatile with much emphasis on Dutch-house, slightly wicked and very progressive.

More party photos anyone? wink

Here are some I managed to snap with my KL buddies!

The night was a fantastic one; lots of catching up over good music and Hennessy’s signature cocktails.

I personally had a lot of fun for those good few hours with all my partymates and even bumped into old friends. Yup, you tend to get that a lot if you’re from such a warm and cosy island like Penang – where everyone knows everyone LOL

May 25, 2013 | Thank you @HennessyMY for another great #party! I had a great time ❤ #hennessyartistry #penang by imthejessicat on Keek.com

With that being said…

Three cheers to Hennessy for a fun night! Hip hip.. hurrah! yesyesyes

Moving on to Hennessy Artistry KL!

Though it’s pretty late to post this now but since we’re on the topic of  Hennessy Artistry Penang, I figured that I’m not gonna skip making a quick post about it at the same time. wink

Arriving KWC KL with my fave partymates of the night! heart

BF & the BFF.

Haha adapting a totally different style than I did for Hennessy Artistry Penang!

As compared to one of elegance in the latter,I was decked out in a more edgy look tonight.

Hosts of the night, Julie Woon and Nadia Heng giving us guests warm welcome!

The line-up of the night was undeniably a stellar, show-stopping one of international recognition.

I could remember not putting my drinks down as I rode high on the waves of all the performances!

The performers of the night were:

Mr. Nasty and GuruGuru

They’re arguably my fave DJs in Malaysia!

Playing a deep, eclectic, bass-jacking and much faster electronica beats like techno, hardstyle, hard trance

and the like, this dynamic duo certainly got me fist-pumping all night.

Beatboxer Koujee takes the stage pumping up the atmosphere with his vocal beats!

The dancers were off the hook as well!

I loved their outfit for the night! So simple yet dark and speaks a volume of attitude.

When Dutch powerhouse Eva Simons took to the stage, the crowd came to a near rapture!

She literally took over control of the night as she belted out her collabo track with Afrojack, ‘Take Over Control’.

We continued dancing and partying hard to Eva when she sang

‘This is Love’ collaborated with Will.I.Am of Black Eyed Peas fame.

Don’t stop the partaaayy!

My party levels shot to an even higher scale when Angger Dimas blasted his two-hour set.

Told you. I love listening to deep, electronica acoustic sounds of DJs of all sorts.

He performed, as usual, a hard and progressive set which nailed it completely!

Progressive trance, electro-house, big room and dubstep permeated the scene that night.

Angger Dimas / Jessicat

Just like the previous Hennessy Artistry parties, I got to grab a quick photo with the DJs that made my night.

Mad respect for you! Such talent and impeccable taste in remixing fresh sounds of original tracks.

Also stole a picture with the boys of B.A.T.E

The night went on and partygoers were seen brimming with energy even in the wee hours of the morning. I was no exception! Angger Dimas’ music kept me going all night.

It was like fuel I was feeding off from. yes

Make way for some party photos with my buddies before I head off to bed!

Jessicat / Rob

My boy. No introduction needed heart

One drink too many? laugh

Pammy / Jessicat

Jessicat / Kevin

There were so many other partymates and friends whom I bumped into but didn’t manage to grab a quick photo. Perhaps I was enjoying the music too much by the middle and towards end of the night! yes

Once I was on a row, raving to the music and downing shots of Hennessy was all that mattered.

Thank you Hennessy Malaysia, for having me at all your Hennessy Artistry’s since 2009!

It’s a party I’d never want to give a miss wink

Check out the other places I have went to such as Zouk and Envy if you want more of my adventures.

A wicked trance night with Cosmic Gate live in Malaysia! | Wake Your Mind Asia Tour 2013 | Club Neverland KL

June 8, 2013 by thejessicat

It was yet another wicked night of uplifting and progressive trance anthems setting the mosh-pit on fire.

Despite being a rather wet night, it proved no wet blanket for ravers and EDM party punters to continue storming ahead to Club Neverland for a cosmic blast to kick-off their weekend.

It certainly didn't stop me from making my way there, that's for sure.

Thank you, Wicked Entertainment, for the invitation! heart

With my other half, all ready for a great party ahead!

Destination: Club Neverland! devil

Upon entering its premises, I spotted pretty cool rave gear being sold by Rave Kandy!

(((STYLESHOT)))

Jessicat wears: Toga top by SUB | Bandage skirt by Forever 21 |

Accessories by Diva | Tote bag by Prada | Peep-toe booties by NOSE

As I arrived rather early, I got to catch the opening acts for the night.

Our very own rising nu-breeds, B.A.T.E (Brains and the Eye) as well as Captain Ed (C.Ed) in action.

Our opening acts did a great job in turning the temperature up as early as 10pm.

With their booming sounds of disco, techno, big room and electro, they blasted various tracks from the likes of W&W, Hardwell, Zedd and more!

Ethan Curzon of B.A.T.E doing this thing

B.A.T.E and Captain Ed set the mood amazingly well!

More and more people began to fill the dance floor as the night unfolded.

I took a step out for a breather and managed to take some photos with my buddies. heart

Us at the entrance, where all the activities and games were ongoing.

We didn't manage to win ourselves anything though… boo!

Kim and I at the entrance

We went inside and back upstairs at the VIP deck again and grabbed another round of drinks.

With more of my buddies Ryan and Sam! heart

Anytime now. Here we are, waiting for Cosmic Gate's set. laugh

At 1am sharp, it was time to turn our party dial a notch higher.

Our superstars of the night, Cosmic Gate took over the decks in style and rocket-launched us to euphoria.

Say hello to DJ Bossi and Nic Chagall heart

The dance floor was packed as ever.

Even upstairs, where I was, was full house! surprise

These German duos really know how to kick a party into immeasurable levels,

especially when they played 'Be Your Sound'.

The energy was infectious and kept building like there was no tomorrow!

Our World  #39 Top DJ-Producers definitely made sure we had fun cool

Pretty sure everyone present would agree!

Jun 8, 2013 | A lil snippet of my fave song 'Be Your Sound' from @realCosmicGate live at #ClubNeverland last night! ❤ by imthejessicat on Keek.com

Nic driving the crowd wild

When their set hit a halfway mark at a little past 2AM, a loud bang was heard followed by a burst of confetti filling the air with streams of shiny paper and colourful bits. laugh

It was raining with colours and sparkles for a good one minute!

A thunderous applause and wolf-whistles were heard from the mosh-pit!

The music was not only superb, but the lighting and sound system were flawless! yes

I absolutely loved their remix of Above & Beyond's 'Thing Called Love' and Hardwell's 'Spaceman'.

It was brilliant! yes

Jun 7, 2013 | Awesome remix by @RealCosmicGate of #Hardwell's 'Spaceman' and Above & Beyond's 'Thing called Love'! ❤ Rave on! by imthejessicat on Keek.com

Fist-pumping all night long!

We left a little before 3AM to avoid the massive lockdown at the carpark.

But as we came out, we saw that here were very efficient RELA cops (for my non-Malaysian readers, these are paramilitary civil volunteer cops!) there to assist with the traffic, ensuring that partygoers were able to leave the premises without much delay. yes

Tonight's entertainment was brought to you by Wicked Entertainment and Club Neverland KL.

Thank you for giving us an great  time heart

It was progressively hard-hitting, as it was vocally serenading.

I felt like I was taken to different spheres of the universe! Here's a short video I made of the night. cool Enjoy!

Track ID: Cosmic Gate – 'Be Your Sound'

Leaving the club at a little before 3AM

I could still feel Cosmic Gate's bass-jacking, heart-stopping tracks on my way back

It was indeed, a night to remember.
