The Sunday Times IV : Sights, sounds, adventures & eats! My week in a flash ♥

September 16, 2012 by thejessicat

Happy Sunday lovelies!

My past seven days were likened to a happy breeze kicking up colourful leaves on an Autumn evening

I was back in form. Cheerful &  brimming with smiles, compared to last week's dreadful crawl of a week

Out and about on a sunny afternoon!

Oh and to my fellow Malaysian people, HAPPY MALAYSIA DAY!

Yup, for you non-Malaysian readers, today is Malaysia's birthday and we are 49 years old.

———-TRIVIA ———

Malaysia Day is NOT to be confused with our National/Independence Day,

which was celebrated some two weeks ago on the 31st August.

Today, 49 years ago, the formation of four independent nations :

Malaya, Sabah, Sarawak & Singapore gave rise to a new nation….

and that new nation was Malaysia.

16th September 1963 was the very day we became a country of our own!

HAPPY 49TH BIRTHDAY TO MY BELOVED COUNTRY MALAYSIA

——————————–

Anyway, what made my week this time round?

We'll see :

Headed to The Pool KL in Ampang for a food review of their Japanese restaurant, Kyoto Lab

Being a Japanese food enthusiast, the excellent quality, taste & choice of meals exceeded my expectations!

Full blogpost coming soon!

Slowly regained my appetite again and indulged in some comfort food

Traditional American Pancake Stack by Paddington's House of Pancakes @ The Curve

For some reason, those pancakes that I had above tasted like cardboard & had a rubbery texture.

What happened to the soft, fluffy, melt-in-your mouth pancakes I always used to have?  This makes the avid pancake-fan in me, sad :/

Had some retail therapy to make me happy.

Hey, who doesn't love pretty things in pretty boxes? :D:D

Char Tang Hoon in SS2 Pasar Malam (night market)

Only RM3.50 and was superb!

Dinnertimes with the magician boys Andrew & JB :D

We hung out at Delicious @ Mid Valley Megamall and I'd fully recommend the…..

Pumpkin Soup with chopped almonds!

It's a new item in the menu. It was flavourful, not too creamy & just the right texture

Party time at NSFW presents : 12th Planet all the way from Los Angeles, USA!

I jumped right onto the podium (and made bestie Pam join me up there!) and I shooked 12th Planet's hand!

Thanks for the photo Pam xx

The heavy dubstep-DnB artist shot our faces to full colour once he took control of the party

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HOLr0jqnCI&feature=player_detailpage

Song of the week! I love Zedd, 'nuff said

This was the song that 12th Planet boomed and catapulted me to rave on the podium!

Just a lil SELCA again

Headed out for dinner with my suede grey fedora & a buttoned American flag blouse!

Made some dinner. Inspired by popular Arabic dish, Shakshouka

Baked eggs, tomatoes, onions, black pepper and cumin!

Got a little SELCA crazy whilst stuck in a jam. How narcissistic, I know

Found something extremely relevant whilst I was caught on the LDP traffic jam

Why that highway is congested even at 3PM is beyond me. But that's something to think about, no? :P

Spent my entire Saturday with theboyfie in Borders-Starbucks, The Curve.

He was reading the new book he bought, The Great Mortality by John Kelly,

while I was working away on some of my blogging & photo editing.

Attended another one of the Arthur's Day celebrations in Sid's Pub @ TTDI today

Gee, I love the month-long celebrations! So much merriment

To Arthur!

Dinner at TGI Friday's @ Sunway Pyramid!

For the non-health conscious, I'd recommend the Deep Fried Mac & Cheese balls

Should you prefer a healthier meal, I'd recommend the Stuffed Mushrooms with ground beef!

It's served with bruschetta toppings and pretty damn delicious too

Dennis & I :) Just came back from Youth Jam, held in Sunway Pyramid!

I was the judge for the blogging competition by Youth Jam-SONY's National Blogger Festival

So happy to be able to lend my support to the movement and youth empowerment

And that wraps up my seven days this time round.

It was a pretty average week, with some good news (still a secret at the moment!) to share very soon!

Just a little secret (well, not so secret anymore!) I'm pursuing magic & aim to learn a new language.

A while back, I promised a certain French magician that when I go to Paris one day, I'm going to impress him with my magic performance and a particular mentalism/illusion trick. And I will.

That being said, have an awesome seven days ahead dearies.

And to my Malaysian readers, enjoy tomorrow's public holiday thanks to Malaysia Day! :D:D

Much love,

Jessicat

This Berjaya BCARD has been with me for a month : it gave me rewards & discounts aplenty!

April 13, 2012 by thejessicat

Say hello to my new buddy who's been tagging along everywhere I go!

This new addition to the family of cards in my wallet is none other than this bright yellow fella right here.

Introducing the new Berjaya BCARD!

I received it almost exactly a month ago and today, a month later, I find this BCARD Reward Program very useful 🙂

So what does this card do?

It's basically a Reward Card launched by Berjaya Group where you can collect points & redeem even more points and rewards exclusively from participating brands & outlets. The BCARD is a lifetime membership with no annual fee.

We can use the BCARD at more than 300 stores nationwide, which includes my all time faves : Starbucks, Krispy Kreme, Kenny Rogers, Wendy's, Papa Johns and heaps more!

Buddy Pam & I at Starbucks KLCC one day after our shopping sesh

We've always wanted to try the new Cocoa Cappuccino, so we got it!

Best part is, the points are rewarded in both ways – when you spend as well as when you redeem!

Upon signing up, members will receive a gift pack with 40 vouchers worth over RM1300

Kate & I at Kenny Rogers for dinner!

She had her Black Pepper Lamb Steak & I had my original Kenny's quarter meal

We used the discount vouchers given & our BCARD!

If you have pre-loaded credit in your BCARD, it can be used like a Debit Card to pay for your purchases/meals/services wherever you use it at. Or, you can redeem points to use as credit/cash! Every 100 points = RM1.

Had Papa Johns for lunchies!

The boyfie & I used the BCARD & the discount vouchers

We decided on two different half-half pizzas due to the awesome promo!

I had the Fisherman's Catch/BBQ Chicken & Beef while he had Super Papas/Texas Heat

As you can see, I certainly made full use of the gift pack vouchers, as my friends and I kept patronizing our fave outlets to enjoy the benefits! Teeheehee. It sure was fun, and certainly rewarding!

Used my BCARD & vouchers again at Starbucks Pavilion!

Did some catching up with the bestie Joyce over our fave Starbucks!

Guess where theboyfie and I went yesterday for lunch?

No surprise here – it's WENDY'S!

I used the voucher and the BCARD to get us more yummy food

*burp* See that? Yep, that was really satisfying :D

MOAAAR STARBUCKS ANYONE? 😀

It's fun to keep collecting points & redeeming them for rewards with the BCARD

If you’re interested to get a BCard, contact BCard call centre at 03-21192999 or email to enquiry@bcard.com.my

Hey ho, let's go! Get ready to spend & get rewarded, just like I did! 🙂

My weekend in a bottle : Post-examination freedom, serial partying n’ gettin’ my Starbucks fix!

November 14, 2011 by thejessicat

And so the final examination season is finally over.

All the exam fever has subsided and it's time to rev up; full gear ahead!

Apart from the outings with the friends & family, I've been letting my hair down and turning up my party dial

So yeah! A short update, here's my weekend encapsulated in photos! (Photos courtesy of my homeboys, thanks!)

Barsonic @ Zouk night outs – OMFG Party

Going insanely supersonic folks!! 🙂

The music put us in a state of trippy trance! It was pumping beyond words, headbanging wasn't ever enough

DJs that spun for the night were DJ Blink of LapSap and the Bass Agents : DJ GanjaGuru & DJ Didjital

Pub-crawling/bar-hopping @ Changkat Bukit Bintang

Twenty.One Kitchen & Bar, Finnegan's Irish Bar and a few others of which I don't remember 🙂

Music was diverse, as we patronized many different outlets along that belt of vibrancy

The night ended pretty swell. Was fun and smexy! 😉

House-party with the bunch @ PJ8 Suites

Because there is simply one rule set by our host : No one goes home sober

Almost finishing the grim concoction of the King's Cup.

Why do I never have any luck? 🙁

You know the night starts to get trippy when you see your friend talking to your cat

Truth…. or dare? One for the boys!

So the houseparty was mad, think Vodka infused watermelons, King's Cup… and others.

It kept going till the morning light and ended with some Hong Kong Dim Sum breakfast!

If you were wondering, yes I have been pretty much nocturnal for the past week.

Apart from that, I did indulge in the occasional daytime activities.

Kicked back a simple day of grocery shopping with my housies

(I know I look extremely plain and kiddish without make up)

Shopping and getting my usual Starbucks fix with my gurls

Plus, I got myself the Starbucks christmas edition of their Loyalty Card!

It's lovely and comes with heaps of perks too 😀

Ta-daaaa. All 3 cards (look at the pretty limited edition red one!) You jelly? 😀

Go get yours now at your nearest Starbucks! Hurry up cos the red one is extremely limited.

I *almost* chose the red one but I was too enticed by the adorable snowman!!!!

RAGE!!!!!!! #firstworldproblems

That being said, have a great week ahead ladies & gents

July 7, 2011 by thejessicat

Yupyup, I haven't been updating for 3 days just because I've been too occupied!

But yeah, here's a recap on the stuff that I've been up to ever since my comeback.

1. Hennessy Artistry event at Sixty9ine Mansion @ Batu Fehringgi, Penang

Spent time with the homies and partied the skies down.

2. Being able to wear my summer clothes again after freezing myself silly during Australian winter

Just because it's ALWAYS SUMMER IN MALAYSIAAAAAAA!!! 😀 😀

No more being all wrapped up in thick jumpers, overcoats and woolly boots! 😀

Spent time with thefockers at home & during mealtimes too!

3. Spent some girlytime and did heaps of catching up with the bestie Joyce

The BFFs reunites!  Best Friends since the beginning of college days and counting!

Chilling|Shopping|Starbucks|Hangin' out – Just like old times!

4. Spent time hangin' out with Konzylove

Being with each other all the time online; thank Science for technology! Countdown : 63 more days

5. Ate so much local food you have no idea.

AND NOT HAVING TO PAY OVER 50 BUCKS IN MY CURRENCY FOR MY OWN LOCAL FOOD!

Nasi Lemak? Hell yeaaaaaaahh

Feels great to be back; but still anticipating my return to Ozzie nonetheless

A day out in the sun flying kites by the lakeside at Taylors University! Thanks to Churp Churp

October 19, 2010 by thejessicat

Okay okay!

I reckon I have blogged enough about my maniacal never-ending nightlife for the time being already LOL 😛

So here's something a little different for the day. Something fresh, "healthy" and sunny – completely not dripping with booze of any sort!

I went kite-flying in the humid – yet windy – afternoon sun!

By the lake with ze huuuge kite! Pretty & colorful. Loves!

Having returned from another night of mayhem at Zouk the night before, I was surprised I didn't wake up with an after-party hangover.

Thankfully I managed to get outta bed, freshen up & got out the door in record time! Didn't wanna be late for Nuffnang's Glitterati+ meeting in the morning and subsequently, this Churp Churp 'Fly Kite' outing.

I see my Twitter profile pic on the Churp Churp bunting! 😀 😀 Do you?

If you don't have me on Twitter yet, it's @imthejessicat hehe

So yes, the Glitterati+ meeting was good. The word is finally out and open to the rest of the Nuffnangers. I've been one of the pioneer members of Glitterati+ for quite some time now and it has been a fun ride indeed. Hence, I do urge all active Nuffnang bloggers to join as well! 🙂

Right after the open meeting, we had a short campus tour around Taylors University Lakeside Campus. No wonder they're so proud of their Uni! It's omfg-outrageously-fabulously-impressive.

Makes you go, whaaaadd have I been missing in my tertiary education years?

Why was I born so early? This campus is magnificent! *jawdrops*

Here we are by the lakeside at Taylors Uni. See those buildings on the left? One of it is their library.

And on the opposite side, there's the "commercial" area of the campus. Here I am standing by the walkway. Can you believe that beside me lies a Starbucks, Subway, Old Town, Wong Kok Kitchen & Face2Face Noodle house, among the many others?

(pic credits to Simon)

Looks like im standing on a pier right? 😀 With the whites, the balcony & the water in the background

Waiting for my ship to arrive LOL!!

Lady luck was on our side today as the weather was just perfect for a kite flying activity!

I was a little paranoid though, fearing that it would rain or end up being all dark and stormy ;(

BUT I WAS WRONG! Look at how merciful the weather man was to us?

Pretty kites Green Octopus, Smiley Bat and Rainbow soaring up, up and above! 😀

And what's that dangerous creature below I see still alive in Year 2010???

Dood, you're like supposed to be waaaaaaayy extinct with the other bros and hoes of your kind 😛 😛

Wrong era, dragon! This is 2010!

Not 800 b.c or some ancient milestone where you giant lizards belong

It was plain to see that almost everyone was having fun playing outdoors – instead of  ramming their fingers on the keyboard – for once!

Kite flying. Such a classic! Prior to this, the last time I ever held a kite was with my late grandpa when I was 6?

I would scan my 6 year old self flying a kite for you if I could but I don't have it with me as we speak 🙁 bummer.

 (pic credits to Mohd. Zaid)

But here's the me flying a kite 15 years later! All grown up 😀

Hey! Kite flying is not easy okay!! You think DOTA only need strategy ah!? 😛

Skills are needed to recognize the direction of the wind, how much force used to pull the nylon string and so much other kite-technicalities I don't wanna even go there LOL.

I took forever to beam with pride upon seeing my rainbow kite soaring higher than the buildings! 😀 😀

hahahah yes Tim, I know it was hard to get it up & to make it stay up 😛 😛 ahem.

For girls hard also! *giggles* XD

I do admit though, I had problems with my kite! ;( I can haz emo kite. It kept tangling up all over my hair, my wrist, my body & even my shoes! Maybe my kite was the black sheep of the kite family, who prefers to be dragged on the ground instead of flying high in the sky.

WEIRD KITE.

sucks to be you kthxbai.

But nothing stopped my attempts! In fact, I ran like sorhai (madp*ssy) all over the place while yanking the nylon string of the kite trying my utmost best to let it stay up in the air!

LOL Simon was also running like sorhai trying to get his Smiley Bat kite flying in the air

While I was struggling after numerous attempts (my kite never stayed up above for more than 30 seconds!) I decided to pop into Starbucks for an ice-cold Java Chip. Perfect for a sunny day! Was drenched in sweat you would never believe me! 🙁

"Ima happy kite!  Smiley kite! Nothing can ruin my d…a..yy.. uh oh. wait.

I'M CRASHINGGG INTO TAYLOR'S LIBRARY! I shall put Osama bin Laden & his Al-Qaeda clan to shame!"

Haha. What can I say? I had an amazing Saturday afternoon despite only having 3 hours of sleep.

As expected, I headed home to zonk out for a couple of hours before heading out and about again 😀

(pic credits to Simon)
