Fashion, music n' fun! The Underground Dominants of Project UNDO @ The Opera, Sunway

December 31, 2010 by thejessicat

One rainy afternoon on a Thursday, I made my way to Project UNDO.

LOL the tagline was something that goes along the lines of "too little time, too much to undo"

So kinkeh!

Anyway, its a series of Underground events which involves fashion and music. (Don't ask me why it's underground. It got me scratching my head in confusion too) And the dress code was 'UNDERGROUND'.

And! I had no idea in hell how to dress 'underground' so I resorted to wearing earthy, brown and ground colours. Thankfully, I found the one and only brown top I own. Looks like brown had never been my colour huh 😛

Yeah I was trying to look as brown and underground as possible.

Any browner and I'd turn into a mole or a pile of sand

Was there with my pals all the way from Penang and some of my gurls here! 😀

We all had lotsa fun and was treated to lotsa booze at the VIP terrace upstairs on the 2nd floor.

If i remember correctly, there was Johnnie Walker black label, Glenmorangie and beers throughout the night!

By the sofas & balcony

By the drinks bar

Finally, the show began. It took a good long 2 hours to start after its scheduled time.

The party was to begin at 7pm but it only began somewhere after 9pm. Grr! But issokay, good company and drinks kept us busy anyway

Cassandra Patrick was the MC while violinist Arthur Tan started the ball rolling for the night

Magic Show! See that girl lying on top of the sharp point? Insane.

Sorry fo overexposed shot but that's Rosen Roy the magician/illusionist in red

She could totally be a devotee for Thaipusam while she's at it, since needles and spears don't seem to hurt her.

Anyway, here's our view from the top terrace 🙂

Fashion show began and it showcased classic collections and some pretty unique pieces from local designers like Jimmy Lim, Joe Chia, Alexandrea Yeo, Allien Gan and MNEP 🙂

The gambit was instead of playing the same old "catwalk tracks" while the models are strutting down the runway, Project Underground saw local pop/punk/rock bands playing live for all of us.

Local punk rock outfit, An Honest Mistake!

And that's my friend Leonard playing right in front.

Can't believe he spontaneously followed suit and "catwalked" with the models as well LOLOL 😛

More and more performers took the stage and they were local DJs DJ Nas T and DJ Tareeq, Scottish DJ Dayshavoo, local rock band Underheadlights and 19 year old beatboxer Koujee.

Camwhoring and partying continues!

A tad off-focused but memorable all the same

We left somewhere past midnight.

It was a working day tomorrow yo! Can't stay up too late.

And just before I left, bumped into Andy at the doorway, and he took a shot of us.

One for the road babeh!

That was how my Thursday working weeknight was spent…. at Project UNDO!

The Daily Scoop – A success!

November 29, 2007 by thejessicat

Slavery never felt this sweet. Now that the publication is printed, over and done with, I can finally sit back and appreciate the fruits of a 3month harvest!

My insanity of staying up at wee hours of the morning and constantly bugging my team of reporters was certainly worth it. These 40 glorious pages of sheer hard work is indeed a proud asset to savour. Well done team mates, I’m so pleased with our final product. Lets give ourselves a big hand! =)

My preciousssssss… take it away and endure the retributions

My heartfelt appreciation goes out to:

1. The Daily Scoop team for putting up with me, your merciless editor. (muahahaaha)
2. Miss Ruby for allowing me to take countless pictures of her until I was satisfied. (Personality Profile)
3. Mr. Irwan, Ivan Cheah, Derry Lim, David Khoo, Joyce Ang, and Andrea Chuang (I photoshopped them for my advertisements)
Like it, Mr. Irwan? =P

4. DigiPress Print Centre for printing the newspaper
5. Kerry Chan for passing me the press release of Danzity’s Dance Competition
6. Every one else who contributed in one way or another

A perished mascara

November 24, 2007 by thejessicat

Guess what happened?? I bought  the latest Revlon mascara with glee, waiting to try it out tomorrow.

And when I got home, my hands were so full that I had to shut the door of my dad’s Merce with my arse. Lo and behold, it got caught in between, till the door smashed my precious new mascara and broke it in half!!!!!!!

*sobssss*

Benj called me dudu for that! Haha.. I planned to upload the abused mascara picture, but I just didn’t have the heart to. =( Anyways, enough with the pain of cash down the drain. =) Poor mascara, I really wanted to use you. I hope you rest well in the depths of the garbage. Amen.

My day was great (excluding the mascara tragedy). I finally finished the newspaper – The Daily Scoop. Phew.  Verdict: I like it!

My family and I went down to town to grab some yummy lunch and coincidentally, I spotted this ultra-hot dude across the table. And then when he stands, it’s the usual again. SHORT ASS. *horrified* Seriously, the growth hormones in the masculine gender is drastically deteriorating! Why is it that all the good looking guys cant actually reach 180cm?? Is it that lost in the gene pool? No offense dude. Don’t charge me for libel… I will comeback with a conditional defense under the common law and statutory defenses for just providing fair comment and criticism.

Ahh.. it feels good to be educated.

I have this insatiable drive for chocolates now.. since the beginning of the week. No idea why or how. Blame the stress lately for all the final projects and exam preps. It doesn’t help that my mum’s ex-boss bought us this RM158 box of Belgian chocolates!

Uhm.. I seriously demand to know the costing control behind this delicious box of gastronomic pleasure. RM158???
Get real. Is it made of gold or something?
It states that it’s 100% cocoa butter assorted in pure dark and fresh milk chocs, and filled with liquor, caramel, toffee and more. That means no cocoa powder, artificial flavourings or the usual junk they trash into cheap chocolates.. oh wait. I think I just cleared my own confusion. No wonder it costs RM158.
