My 24th Birthday | Episode Four: Partying it up all thanks to The Pool KL!

October 1, 2013 by thejessicat

Finally! After all the urgent commitments to other more important posts, I can finally continue where I left off from my birthday series. Ladies and gents, today’s post will be Part 4 of my birthday celebrations.

Here are the previous ones!

Birthday Part 1

Birthday Part 2

Birthday Part 3

I did mention that I did not want to throw a huge smashin’ birthday party again like I do every year as it somehow always ends up an imperative that I get drop dead drunk.

However, The Pool KL so graciously decided to sponsor me a smaller party at their premises and even gave me a bottle of Smirnoff vodka to enjoy with my guests.

How could I refuse such a sweet gesture?

Thus, I found myself making invitations to give my closest friends outside my social media circle.

Only because if I were to include buddies from my industry, I would take up the entire venue!

So with all my guests RSVPing (despite the last minute invitation, sorry!) the plans for my small, cosy birthday party was ready to rumble! Let’s just hope it goes regardless of the number of pax – it’s the company that matters after all, not the quantity!

We arrived in style at and waited for the rest of our buddies.

The Pool KL was looking really pretty that night!

Couldn’t help but to take photos with the bar, the pool and the pretty lights while waiting!

Not too long after, my guests started to arrive one by one.

Cue the party photos!

Yay! Larry, my first guest arrived!

Gradually, more and more of them began trickling in. Second and third to arrive was Jeffro and Hisham!

Cheers!

Then my girlies Pam and Ning arrived! 😀

Not long after, my long-time buddies Anis and Sharlyn walked in!

Wheeeee reunion photo! We go back all the way to 2007

Sarah made it despite having troubles with the cab driver. Mwah!

The more the merrier!

Smile!

Apart from The Pool KL’s bottle of vodka, we also got ourselves more drinks!

All of us at the table!

Before we knew it,  we were treated to a “first class” full frontral view of a pyro act!

From fire-twirling, fire-eating, fire-breathing, fire-juggling and so much more.

What a daredevil act of bravery! I’ve always been intrigued by fire.

But little did I know that I would be picked by the folks of The Pool KL to join the stuntman for a fire performance.

As frightened as I was, I gave it a go. Performing with fire on my birthday? Heck, why not? Bucket list checked!

I recalled my similar experience fire-twirling back in Australia so I decided that I shouldn’t be as frightened anymore. Mustering all the courage I had in me, I then braved myself to lick the flames and to also do a little bit of fire-twirling – sorry, I was a tad rusty! It has been a couple of years after all.

Here’s a short video footage of my playing with fire in front of everybody!

I must admit, it was rather daunting but I hope I pulled it off alright.

Video credits: Jeff Ong

Thanks so much for the video Jeffro! x

After the fiery act, we continued partying!

I began to pour more rounds of neat vodka for my buddies.

Straight from the bottle!

(P/S: Damn I know I look quite cock-eyed here but alas, it’s the only picture I have of this!)

Pretty sure finishing this would be no problem, right guys? 😉

Bottoms up!

Selfie! Damn my huge fat face seems to take up almost half this photo.

Sarah love and I! xo

Big smiles to friendship and beyond!

Another one for the road!

Thank you so much, everyone for taking the time to come all the way here to celebrate my birthday with me over a couple of drinks, chit-chatting and music! Your company really meant a lot.
Thanks for the lovely birthday presents as well!

Last but not least, thank you The Pool KL for hosting me a great night and a great birthday experience.

Later into the night, we found ourselves moving on to Zouk for an after-party as I was given a 10 pax guestlist to fill in. Yay! So much for not wanting to party hard huh…

To be continued! 😉

How I celebrated a very merry Christmas of 2012 – with a twist and a perfect pint of GUINNESS® !

December 25, 2012 by thejessicat

Christmas has always been one of my top few favourites in my list of annual celebrations.

I feel blessed for being able to be grow up celebrating the love, warmth & the festive spirit of Christmas.

My first Christmas dinner of the year was an intimate party thrown by GUINNESS® Malaysia!

That evening at Dirty Nelly's Pub @ KL Life Centre was a warm and cosy one. :D

I was glad to gather amongst my good friends & associates (some of which whom I've not seen for a while!) for a delightful buffet spread of a Christmas dinner and of course…

unlimited pouring of a perfect, frothy pint of GUINNESS® draught.

Apart from chugging it, my favorite thing to do with my pint of GUINNESS® – the frothy moutstache!

During dinner, we were each given a little Christmas gift from GUINNESS® Malaysia!

It was a miniature snow globe with the GUINNESS® mascot, the iconic toucan inside.

There are three different variants altogether. Might wanna keep all three as a novelty collection, no? ;)

Limited edition snowglobes!

You can get yours by purchasing your GUINNESS® at participating outlets/pubs

Drinking more GUINNESS® & giving myself more moustaches!

Guess who was the special guest of the night?

It's local singer-songwriter-music producer, Vince Chong!

Vince Chong serenading us LIVE with certain selections from his new album

Several covers of traditional, classic Christmas songs like 'Silent Night', 'I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus', 'Winter Wonderland', 'When A Child is Born', 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas amongst others, were performed for us.

He also included his original track, 'With You This Christmas' as well. It was co-written by himself (and legendary local jazz artist Michael Veerapen's son, Daniel Veerapen!)

Congratulations on the release of your debut Christmas album CD, 'With You This Christmas'!

The songs were lovely. Those interested can get it via CzipLee Bangsar and CanaanLand Bookstore for RM28. It's also available on iTunes & Amazon!

Thank you, GUINNESS® for having me. I had a great time with good company!

***

Year in and year out, a typical, traditional Christmas celebration was something that my family & I never fail to organize with other friends, relatives & loved ones.

We used to have Christmas carolling, stuffed turkeys, home-cooked traditional Christmas fare, Christmas tree decoration, massive gift exchange, hanging Christmas stockings up for Santa, exchanging Christmas greeting cards, candy canes, wearing Santa hats and reindeer horns during our family Christmas dinners and more.

This year, we decided to do it differently ;)

For our Christmas eve dinner, we celebrated the countdown and gathered together for a…

Chinese Seafood dinner LOL

I know, how odd! LOLOLOLOL :P:P

But we still did have some strain of tradition left in us! Certain things will always remain.

We blasted Christmas songs at home the whole day and had a small gift exchange – sorry for my dreadful present-wrapping skills! It's what's inside that counts, right? HAHA

The lovely Christmas cake that mom decorated

Our Christmas tree at home!

Here's a close up

And some of the presents under our tree!

The next afternoon, we took a trip downtown to TAO Japanese Cuisine restaurant in located in Penang Times Square for our Christmas lunch. :D

Japanese cuisine to celebrate Christmas? Ummmmm… what?

I know, this is so unbecoming of us!  I really hope we don't go out on a tangent like this next year.

Surprisingly, that was all the photos I took. There were at least ten times more the amount of food on our table, but I decided to put my iPhone down to actually concentrate on my family lunch

Ever since the advent of smartphones and Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and others, I don't want our family mealtimes to end up like this –

HAHA. Guilty?

Some of us at the table! I don't know where the rest went LOL

With mom & godmom

Best grandmother in the world!

My series of Christmas celebrations ended with a couple of beer pints & cocktails; Killkenny, Guinness & White Russian

BestieJoyce, Konzy, Mike and I headed to Zenzi Bar @ Upper Penang Road with a few others.

BFF and I

With the boys Konzy & Mike

Drinkies!

And that wraps up my unconventional Christmas this year.

To be honest, I do miss the good ol' traditional Christmas celebrations my family and I used to hold annually without fail. Hmm… maybe I'll take over the plannings next year.

Move over. It's my turn!

After all, I'm pretty big on Christmas.

Plus, it gives me an excuse to make a perfect roast with plenty of stuffing, bake some amazing pies, puddings & desserts as well as wrap pretty presents that my family won't ever say no to ;)

Here's to hoping your Christmas was well-spent with warmth around the people closest to you!

Lest you forget the real meaning of Christmas, it is the spirit of unparalleled love, great joy and togetherness.

Mary's boy child, Jesus Christ, was born on Christmas day.

So Christmas, is basically our celebrating God's love to us all – the birth of Christ.

MERRY CHRISTMAS, DEAR READERS!

May your days be merry & bright! And may all your Christmases be white :D

(As you know, Malaysia doesn't snow… so.. fake snow will do for now)

A girls day out with bestie Joyce at the Samsung Super Sweet BFF party. I won the limited edition Samsung Galaxy Y Hello Kitty smartphone!

December 6, 2012 by thejessicat

When you hardly ever get to meet the people that matter due to a myriad of "excuses" such as busy schedules, distance, no money, can't be bothered dressing up, no time, don't feel like going out and the like, nothing beats spending a full day out with them when you finally get the chance.

For bestie Joyce and I, we don't hang out as often as we did (when we were both students/classmates) anymore, but absence only makes the heart grow fonder!

Remember my previous chapter about the Super Sweet BFF Hello Kitty party that we decided to go together?

I headed to her place last Saturday morning and picked her up for our full day out!

We were excited and gushed about what the day had in store for us.

Our plan for the day was to have a catch-up lunch together before pampering ourselves with a girly afternoon of manicures, make-up makeovers, hair styling, taking lots of photos together, airbrush tattoos, catching a movie and so much more.

My Hello Kitty look of the day (for a competition)

I don't usually portray the "act cute" or put on the whole "oh-look-at-me-I'm-so-Japanese-I-must-be-kawaii" look, but this afternoon was an image I went for to match the Hello Kitty theme of the event.

You know I never fail to go in accordance to ANY themeparty, right? :D This was no exception.

Arriving on the red carpet at GSC Pavilion KL

I signed my name on the guestlist, we got ourselves wrist-tagged and were ready to start our day!

But before that, I was given a baby pink Hello Kitty press kit.

Inside, it was packed with so many goodies that the girliest of all girls could only love!

A Hello Kitty facial mask, glittery faux gems, custom-made Hello Kitty raspberry-flavoured candy,

bling decor-stickers & a Hello Kitty notebook all in a matching Hello Kitty baby pink goody bag.

Despite being already inside the event vicinity, we could not stop enthusing over the first thing that greeted us at the entrance. It was life-sized and probably the LARGEST decoration set-up of the party.

See it for yourself!

It was an enormous Hello Kitty arch made of baby pink helium balloons!!

Apart from that, we were totally blown away by the rest of the carefully-thought out decorations and interior

It really set us in the perfect mood for an all-girls day out!

One section of the venue was set in a Hello Kitty tea-party theme.

There was a delightful display of assorted pastries, candies, Hello Kitty cupcakes, strawberries and other desserts all in pink! How adorable

Even the drinks were pink. Check it out!

Sipping on a milky rosewater syrup drink,

popularly known as the 'Sirap Bandung' to the locals

We continued exploring the area and took even more photos as the time passed.

Just a little heads up, I'm going to regurgitate almost all the photos that of Joyce and I took of ourselves in this blog post. We will not be responsible if you get sick of our faces after your finish reading this :P:P

At the official photo wall of the Samsung Galaxy Y Hello Kitty Super Sweet BFF party!

After some thinking, we then decided on what to treat ourselves with first.

As the manicure booth had a lesser queue at the time, the first thing we did was to get our nails done! :D

At the manicure booth

As I liked all the colours, the manicurist decided to give me a mix of all!

Done! She even stuck diamante blings and tiny Hello Kitty stickers on some of my nails

Next up, we headed to where all the dressing tables with huge & brightly-lit mirrors were!

Can anyone say, hello superstar?

Reminds me of an actual make-over studio! You know, the kind you see in movies?

We couldn't resist taking a selfie with it

I had my make-up touched up and got the make-up artist to draw pink whiskers on my cheeks…

… while bestieJoyce got her hair done in a pretty, fancy do!

Here I am waiting for my turn!

I waited for almost half an hour only to realize that I probably wasn't going to get my hair done anytime soon

The crowd was massive, particularly in the hair and make-up booths! Everyone was queuing up to get themselves snazzy new hairdos

Look how busy all the stylists were with the throng of enthusiastic girls!!

In the end, I didn't manage to get my hair done.:/  But no matter! BestieJoyce did :)

Look at her really cool Roman princess-like hair braids! I absolutely loved it

It was sectioned & braided into several parts, tied down, twisted into buns, bobby pinned into place

and all jazz that can only professional hair stylists could comprehend!

Having so many tattoos (real ones, mind you!) you would think that I am disinterested in airbrush tattoos

But you're wrong! I was really keen and even queued up for it. :D:D

Unfortunately, I didn't manage to get my Hello Kitty airbrush tattoo done as well!
I shall tell you why, in a bit. But first, photos with my friends

Jojo & I

Kate & I (thanks for the photo, babe!)

Yeeing & I (thanks for the photo too, babe!)

bestieJoyce and I

Audrey, Cheesie & I

So many of my other girl friends were there; it was near impossible to take a photo with ALL of them.

Anyway, bestieJoyce and I continued with our day's activities…

Live Facebook updates of the Hello Kitty event!

The huge screen was in the form of the Samsung Galaxy Y Hello Kittylimited edition smartphone!

How smart of Samsung to decorate it as such, instead of just a boring black screen, ey?

And guess who was on their Facebook live updates? *wink*

Thanks for the photo, Samsung!!

Hello Kitty usherettes showcasing the said limited edition Hello Kitty smartphone

I got to take a look & play around with the Samsung Galaxy Y. I liked it a lot!

An even closer look. Look at the cute interface, the icons and the wallpaper!!

I think this smartphone is a really cool entry-level phone for female, girlish youngsters who likes being online, virtually & socially connected and of course, one who loves pink and Hello Kitty!

Oh yes, which reminds me! If you purchase one, you will stand a chance to win a trip to the much talked about Hello Kitty Sanrio town! Details: here

Not too long after, our emcee of the afternoon,

Jojo Struys, had begun announcing the nominees of the 'Best Dressed' competition.

Guess what? I got nominated :D

Thanks Audrey!

Here I am with some of the fellow nominees for the Hello Kitty 'Best Dressed' competition!

Remember when I said I didn't get to do my airbrush tattoo?

Here's the story : I was queuing up for it for a long time until it was almost my turn! But suddenly, my name was called out to go onstage as a finalist for the said competition just before I began my airbrush tattoo! Bye bye tattoo :/

But everything turned out better than expected, for I was one of the five winners of

the 'Best Dressed' competition and won myself that Galaxy Y Hello Kitty limited edition smartphone!

As this was a BFF party for best friends, Samsung also gave the prize to the winners' best friend!

So by association, bestieJoyce won a Samsung Galaxy Y Hello Kitty limited edition smartphone too!

The first thing I said to her was, "Chehwaaaaahh. Very lucky to be my friend, hor?"

LOL I'm kidding!

SO HAPPY. I WON I WON I WON!!! :D:D

Thank you so much, dear judges and to Samsung!

Us being on film!

After all the hullabaloo was over, the final activity took to the stage.

The usherettes made sure the runway was completely clear of people, as a bevy of five beautiful Hello Kitty models sashayed into the venue and gave us a brilliant catwalk show, displaying all things girly & their Hello Kitty ensemble, of course!

Some of the models posing for countless cameras on the bright pink podiums

Want a closer look at ALL EIGHT of the Hello Kitty models?
Yup, I thought so. Here you go!
:D

The beautiful, lanky and feminine Hello Kitty models of the day onstage!

BestieJoyce and I loved their whole Hello Kitty get-up! Such creative outfits, not to mention adorable too

Our favorite was the one on the right, with the long, flowy gown comprising a lacy, satin corset with frills and ruffles for a skirt that bounced everytime she took a step forward. It was elaborate yet very chic! :D

Another one of, what felt like, three million photos we took that afternoon :P:P

Our final selfie before we adjourned inside for the premier screening of 'The Rise of the Guardians'

Upon entering the cinema hall, we saw that we were supplied popcorn (in a Hello Kitty box) and a drink!

I must say, well done to the team behind today's event! Everything, from the start of the event right till the very end, was done in the minutest details to make us feel special and pampered

Yay! Hello Kitty popcorn for all of us ;)

Before the movie began, we had a little time to selfie again :P

'The Rise of the Guardians' was a brilliant animated movie!

I left the cinema filled with fond memories of my childhood, of fairy tales and believing in the magic of Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman, the Boogeyman, the Easter Bunny and so much more.

The movie was not only hilarious at so many parts, it was laden with moral values and the spirit of friendship, love and adventure too. Oh, and not forgetting, lots and lots of snow :D

Here's to a wonderful start to December!

As we go on, we remember, all the times we, had together…

and as our lives change, from whatever, we will still be friends forever!

Yes, it's a song, if you didn't already realize

Thank you Samsung, for having us today. As if it wasn't obvious enough, you made us two very happy girls indeed!

When in Melbie down under, here are some of the top things I miss back in Malaysia

February 16, 2011 by thejessicat

Okie since today is the 14th day of Chinese New Year (we have altogether 15 days!), I reckon it's still somewhat relevant to share some more piccies of my CNY celebrations with thefockers and some homies whom I caught up with before my departure to Melbourne.

Happy Year of the Rabbit 2011 again to the fellow celebrators of CNY!

I hope you fellow Chinese folks enjoy tomorrow, which is 'Chap Goh Meh'  (15th and final day of the Lunar New Year). Legend has it that if young, unmarried ladies throw tangerines into the sea, their future spouse will be the one who pick it up. LOL

Perfect excuse to throw 'em oranges at people ey 😛 Whooops!

Taken with a plushie of 'Choy Sun Ye' (God of Prosperity)

Unbelievable as it may sound, one of the many  things I miss about Malaysia is our constant (but absurdly hot) sunny weather. We can head out from home wearing anything we want without a care in the world.

But ever since I've been here for the past 5 days, it's been freezing cold for half a day, freakishly hot for the next few hours with torrid sunlight and cool for the rest of the day.

Now I've no choice but to bring at least a jacket or cardigan – if not my coat – out with me

Yup, the weather here IS indeed as unpredictable as they say and as weird as it may sound, the question, "How's the weather today?" is actually something substantial to talk about.

Unlike back home in Malaysia, it is practically a joke if someone actually asks you that -__-"

I miss putting on my sunnies throughout the whole day and wearing a sundress out in Malaysia

Thankfully, I bought a long coat here to keep me warm already. It's made of cashmere & wool and I actually look very different in it! I like it very much as I somehow imagine myself as a Gossip Girl character trudging down the streets of Manhattan in the cold when I put it on 😛 😛

Okay, time to burst my bubble of fiction. Will show you piccies of it soon, ye?

P/S : shopping is lovely here!!!!

So yes, apart from missing the insanely tropical weather in Malaysia, I miss the food too.

No way in hell imma spend AUD $18.90 (RM57.60) on a plate of Wan Tan Mee, Nasi Lemak or Char Koay Teow! The prices of food is so hefty that I had to bleed from my nose paying for it ;(

aaahhh. Malaysian Chinese food. Never thought I'd miss them all

Some of the Chinese New Year food I ate early this month!

Louuuuuuu Saaaaang!!

Steamed white pomphret fish and demonic-looking roasted piglet below

"U will have no sweet dreams if you eat me"

Which is why I usually cook my own simple meals now, microwave certain food, drink soup or eat a sandwich instead, healthier and more affordable! (here's to hoping it helps in my diet har har har 😛 :P)

So when in Ozzieland, I totally subscribe to my new-found principle:

"Eat like a pauper, shop like a Queen & party lika rockstaaar!"

But I love the fact that I'm brisk-walking more than usual now.

The nearest tram stop is about 8 minutes away from my doorstep and the closest railway which is the Hartwell train station, is 15 minutes away. Gone are the days where I can just hop into my car and speed off to where ever I intended to go, back in Malaysia.

Everything is different now.

But that's what adapting is all about.

Here are some more of the things I miss back in Malaysia, it is impossible to name all!

I miss…. my family

whooops I think I just slayed my mom with fire

cousin Maddy 😀

camwhoring at the table with mom in the background

Mom joins! 🙂

Some of thefockers 🙂

More of thefockers

Even more of thefockers!

Happy birthday granny!!

70 years old tomorrow 🙂 and she's having fun in Genting Highlands as we speak! $$$$

I miss…. home

In one of the busy but small town of Penang island… is where I call home!

I miss… my friends

Some of the homies!

On the way to Belissa Row to meet the rest of them

I miss… my dogs

Penny the silky terrier and Rocky the labrador-retriever

*tickles Penny*

Although I'm living with Ruffey, a Japanese Chin and occasionally Kiko, the pug mix (pics of them soon!) now, nothing compares to Penny and Rocky whom I've come home to for many years.

Everything's still abuzz… likened to a bright colourful whirlwind of excitement.

What can I say? It has only been 5 days.

I guess the dust hasn't settled yet when I'm out and about; bounding the city and the suburbs all the time.

And when it does, it's time to go home. 5 months will go by in a blink… I'm certain

Graduating with MTV world stage live

August 16, 2009 by thejessicat

Malaysia had it rockin’ this time round as MTV World Stage was held at Sunway Surf Beach for the veryberry 1st time. This round, we saw the likes of Kasabian, Estranged, Pixie Lott, Boys Like Girls and my all time fave, The All American Rejects.

If I’m not wrong, the stats had 30K people in the house raving hard to these fabulous MTV rockstars. And guess what? For once, I wasn’t part of it – choosing to make my parents proud and attend my graduation ceremony instead of rockin my head off at this prestigious gig 🙁

DSC_0191
Rockin my graduation when
MTV world stage was flying high

I’m somehow glad I made this decision though. You toiled through 2 and a half years & are finally at the end of the tunnel, don’t you want to receive your scroll on stage proudly in a proper convocation? I do. And so do the rest of my classmates.

DSC_0090

With this, I bring you KDU Penang’s Graduation Ceremony 2009 held in Traders Hotel, by Shangri-La. It was to me, more of a Harry Potter fan club gathering than a convocation as we all had those wizardry cloaks to wear.

similar much?

I arrived the earliest (haha righhttttt) and luckily Nadia and Ms. Felicia helped me out with my Harry Potter cloak graduation robe. Gosh, I had no clue that it was that complicated to put on. Oh and FML my robe kept slipping off and the safety pins kept popping out for chrissakes.

Thanks muchie!

The students were all rounded up into the holding room – where no parents walk the earth. LOL anyway, what else could we do in that room other than to adjust our robes, chat, adjust our robes, make-up, adjust our robes, camwhore, adjust our robes and adjust our robes.

Darn those oversized garments!

That’s me on the left if you hadn’t noticed.
heh.

Once we sat down, it was the series of long speeches by the principal, a minister of something-something, the president of the IMI Switzerland thingy and many other VIPs. Sorry for not remembering as I completely tuned out during the formalities – having only 3 hours of sleep the night before. FML

Then we were signalled to turn around and give
a welcoming applause to our parents
One by one, names of students were called out from various diploma/degree programmes under many departments such as the school of Engineering, Science & Technology, the school of Hospitality, Tourism & Culinary Arts and the school of Arts & Social Sciences to receive their scroll.

The next moment made mom & dad proud.
One student will be chosen from each school to be called on stage to receive an extra award. With joy, I was selected to be the receipient of the Book Prize from the Department of Mass Communications. Couldn’t have done it without my lecturers Mr.Mark, Mr. Ken, Mr. Irwan, Ms. Felicia, Ms. Ruby, Mr. Shen-Hoei, Mr. Aaron, Ms. Goh and Mr. Soohoo. My grattitude goes out to all of you!

This is for my family, my lecturers and myself bwahahahha.

Looks like being a nerd in college paid off!
I know a few of our juniors are reading this right now too. Heyya loves, you’ve only got a few more semesters to go, so ace your exams and get that boom boom pow going! Work hard while you’re at it. But don’t forget to party harder! Woots

Quote of the Day
by Mike’s Mom

“Mike, before you return your gown you better make sure
you take picture with us first ah!?! I want ah!
Remember, you know? Must ah!”

Okay, must must auntie.

We were all then rounded up like sheep again to the stage for a
large group photo with the principal and the VIPs
Can you see me & Abigail posing?

Once I exited the grand ballroom, there were big smiles plastered across my face the moment I saw mom, dad, goddy, both my grampers and my kakak. They showered me with two bouquet of flowers and an enourmous graduation teddy!

I swear I will build muscles by the time I get home. Carrying this everywhere I went was an uphill struggle as dad wanted agazzilion photos of me with the family, lecturers & friends.

DSC_0146
I had to walk everywhere like this
… no thanks to dad!

I was touched, as grampa came all the way for my graduation – being a person which prefers to rest at home 24/7. I hardly express the soft side of me but… I love you gung-gung! Shuddup don’t laugh wtf.

DSC_0179
Always loved you and always will.
Your presence at my graduation means so much.

Out of so many photos of me with both my grampers, I chose this one. Why? Because it thoroughly depicts their individual characters which are so fascinating, yet ones which I’m so fond of. Lemme show you what I mean –

Gramma always seem to have something to talk about
Grampa always looks elsewhere when his photo is taken

Both my folks & I
Living under the same roof & tuning in to nag.fm for 20years of my life
I’m more than ready to face university now, thanks mom & dad!

The Godmother, affectionately known to me as Goddy.
A prominant maternal figure in my life &
one who whips the asswipe outta me.

Fierce at times, but adorably cute when she’s tickled.

Thanks for piling academic pressure on me yet
approving of my constant partying
You never thought I could balance both – and I proved you wrong didn’t I?
If any mom rocks harder than her,
I’d have to pierce my nipples & tattoo my nose

The nanny, of which I call ‘kakak’
She’s been with us since I was a kid of 3.
That makes it 17 years now, can you bloody imagine that?
Definitely part of the family – love her to bits.

The motley crue.
Wished Uncle Mike was here to complete this wacky tribe!

DSC_0192
I have an idea, let’s just all say ‘hello’ to Uncle Mike
in a form of a teddy.

SPOT MEEE! SPOT MEEE!

All’s well ends well. I’m glad I’ve finally graduated from the school of hard knocks! Well truth be told, college life wasn’t really that bad. It was fun at the same time. I will never forget that carpark Uncle who scratched people’s cars & our Maggi Goreng in that mamak store at the open aired carpark. Damp & oily noodles but still loved by our batch of Communication students.

I honestly wonder why.

Next stop – Moving my sweet and sour arse into The University of Melbourne to take on a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications (Hons.) majoring in Journalism. Let’s rock Down Under yo. G’dday!
