FREEZE spellbounds us upon the stage of ice, magic and entertainment @ Genting International Showroom!

January 10, 2012 by thejessicat

Just before we ushered in the new year, I was invited by Resorts World Genting to witness their new resident show: a multi-million ringgit production of Ice, Magic & Entertainment aptly named 'FREEZE'.

I haven't been to Genting Highlands in over a year so I thought, hey, why not?

The journey up to the 'Fun City Above the Clouds' was a winding one.

T'was cold when I arrived (to my surprise!) and a hot cuppa from Starbucks was all I needed

I brought my buddy & housie Pamela to the show with me as well

As soon as we got up there, we started dolling up for the show

As I was booked into First World Hotel, it was quite a fair bit of a walk for us. But no matter!

'FREEZE' was to be held at Genting International Showroom, in the same building as Resort Hotel.

YAY Finally arrived the showroom!

But first, we decided to dine before the show to avoid being cold & hungry in there!

So we went for the buffet dinner at Coffee Terrace Genting courtesy of Resorts World Genting! Thank you 🙂

At the entrance of Coffee Terrace Genting

Inside

There was a plethora of food available during the buffet. We were delighted to find a host of both international and local delights.

Alright, dinner beckons us! :D

Here, lemme show you some of what we had

Watching Chinese people cook really, really intrigue me.

Just look at those oppressive flames amongst the food –

Frying food with gigantic flames inside the wok for so long without burning the meals!

Cooking level : ASIAN

We were spoilt for choice looking at all those food and more!

Here's something that got me ticking :

Not just an ordinary chocolate fondue fountain… it's a

A WHITE CHOCOLATE FONDUE FOUNTAIN!

Here were some of the choices we recommend from Coffee Terrace Genting :

Roast Turkey ham slices

New York Cheesecakes

And from our plates:

Butter Fish, Grilled Dory, Chicken & Beef Teriyaki, Seafood Aglio Olio, Tempura, Fried Soft Shell Crab

Tiramisu, Sushi & Maki, Chicken Sausage, Bread & Butter Pudding

Fresh Garden Pasta, Black Pepper Roast Beef

Other food worthy of not (which we didn't snap photos of) were :

Carrot Soup, Nyonya Chicken, Teochew Siakap & Century Egg Broth, Baby Prawn & Red Snapper, Lamb Kurma, Chocolate Chip Ice Cream with White Chocolate Sauce, Thai Green Curry & Beef Rendang.

A definite must-try!

We adjourned to Genting International Showroom at sharp 9PM

Ready?

Too excited to be spellbounded by world-class performers!

Behold, the never-been-staged-before production is about to begin

The showroom has turned into one of the largest ice entertainment venue in Malaysia

This million-pound ice-rink was specially constructed for 'FREEZE', operating at a permanent -8°C

We were entertained with a vast array of magic, entertainment and acrobatic stunts all on ice!

It was stupendous, to say the least

Apart from stunts and whatnot, there was a musically inclined performance

on the violin and graceful dances from a fusion of performers from Ukraine, Europe & Asia

Introducing the enchanting illusionist Anastasiia Birch from Ukraine!

She appears through an empty crystal box

Captivating us with her brand of illusion

We were wow-ed by many of her talents

Anastasiia performing her double levitation act

Anastasiia performing the World's Largest Turbine Illusion

So dangerous my heart sank when I saw her disappear into the turbine and emerge from the other side!

To think that it has sank enough, I was so very wrong.

I literally gritted my teeth and had my fists in a gridlocked clench the moment I saw this –

Anastasiia performing the World's Largest Drill Illusion

 ohmy.

Loved it when everything was set in flames

The Huachen Acrobatic Group from China induced a jaw-dropping and eyebrow-raising reaction from me

These flexible and limber daredevils blew me over with their agility, energy and nimble movements!!

They spun so fast and in so many degrees and angles I was seeing stars after they were done

Don't know how yall do it but, bravo!

They have most definitely set the bar as they fluidly contort, perform aerial trapeze acts, silk aerial acts and high-flying acts.

Wish I could've shown you more pictures but my eyes were really concentrating on their insane, rapid movements

The cast

It was such an amazing 75 minute production, it left us not only starstruck and beyond impressed.

'FREEZE' is one I'd truly recommend.

The photos and the experience I've just shared simply cannot do it justice!

If you wanna watch it for yourselves, details are as below:

It's often a full-house show, so log-on to www.rwgenting.com or call

for availability and booking to avoid disappointment

And if you wanna indulge in the buffet just like ours, look here :

That's all for now. An amazing experience, no doubt.

My housies and I had so much fun at the themeparks and the casino thereafter.

'FREEZE' You heard it from me!

Don't miss any of those never-seen-before acts! 🙂

The only club with a Buddha concept! Partying by the sea at Alumbra | Central Pier @ Docklands, Melbourne

July 19, 2011 by thejessicat

I've always liked the sea/seaside/beach concept of things.

Complemented with awesome music, bass, drinks & crowd, you can never go wrong; which is why I was convinced that Alumbra was my favorite club in Melbourne!

I swear I don't remember painting my nails pink?

Alumbra's tagline is Music, Life, Culture.

It was pretty apt for a club of its kind, as you will see soon enough.

Located along a harbour, it's no wonder you can see heaps of boats, ships and yachts around

The canopy walkway before we arrived the entrance

Good for rainy days

Okay, so what's with the culture part of the tagline?

I was shocked upon seeing this MASSIVE BUDDHA HEAD inside by the bar

WOW.

Although I doubt this club as anything to do with or affiliated with Buddhism, the concept just blew my mind.

Apart from the bar, there were more statues and heads of Buddha at the main dance floor too.

But it's fairly awkward, no? It's like, the Buddhists would probably think "oh no, Buddha is watching me drink"

Likewise, I'd feel uncomfy if a statue of Jesus was watching me drink and party away.

Get ready for some shots!

There was just an amazing variety of drinks to choose from!

Tim was awesome enough to bring me here!

Thanks heaps 😀

Met some really cool people too. Culture fusion indeed!

Italian guy on my right, Japanese guy on my left.

Thank you for the fabulous evening, Tim!

I enjoyed myself.

If you guys happen to be in Melbourne, do remember to make a stop at Alumbra.

You won't miss it! It's by the pier, just follow the sea and it'll lead you here 😀

Melbourne in 12 hours! Shopping at Melbourne Central, Queen Victoria Street Market n chillin’ at Southbank

July 16, 2011 by thejessicat

On one of my voyages to Melbourne city during my first week in Australia, I hit up the ever-popular Southbank aka Crown Entertainment Complex.

Heard so much about it prior to my arrival, and now, I'm right in the heart of its vicinity.

The sights are even prettier at night all lit up! 😀

I could still remember being like a little kid lost in the big city on my first day in Melbs.

But thankfully, a few awesome people showed me around…

Aunt Ket included! She brought me ALL around Melb city

At Melbourne Central.

It had a Metro Train beneath the mall! Wait a sec — I shouldn't be surprised. There's an LRT Train underneath our famed KLCC Twin Towers too.

.

Shopping at FCUK. Gawd I love this brand. Nice play of the acronym too 😛

Always works for me! (Besides the gym, of course)

We kept walking and Aunt Ket wanted to bring me to a picturesque spot on top of Burke Street Mall (or was it still Melbourne Central? I don't recall) to take pretty photos of the city from an aerial view.

And so we went to this rooftop garden!

So pretty! 😀 😀

I also reckon it's a place where heat is conserved at an optimum temperature for the plants.

The moment I stepped inside, I felt so warm! Almost like in Malaysia hehe.

Part of the city on a Saturday afternoon

We just kept exploring the city until evening.

Oh and, funny how the sun begins to set around 5.30pm in Australia!

And by the time it hits 6.30pm, it'll be dark already

Nawwww horses along the streets of Melbourne!

There were horse carriages around. Just like the olden days.

I didn't ride it for some reason; reckon it probably costs a bomb

Liquor shop!

Oh sorry, I forgot to warn you about this PG-13 photo,

Too bad you've already seen it! 😛

Shotbuckets on sale! Perfect for parties.

Tried on a coat with busy motifs. Liked it. Didn't like it

Liked it again. Changed my mind. Liked it again. But didn't buy it

Stopped to grab a lunch break!

Continued walking till we reached Southbank.

So pretty, right? T'was a great idea to go just before sunset.

Breathtaking

By the time we crossed the bridge to the other side, we were greeted by lots of buskers!

Some were singing, dancing, painting, juggling and all sorts of different things

Impressive street art!

Sat down inside Crown Entertainment Complex to have dinner

Yes, if you're wondering, that's all I'm having for dinner

Can't help that the Australian currency is triple times that of mine. ;(

How sad! It sucks always feeling like a pauper overseas. I finally how it feels like to be poor.

Artsy shot 😀

And before we realized it, it was nightfall

We were just in time for the fire flamethrower show!

For those who don't know what I'm talking about, Southbank boasts a display of flames every weekend at a specific time. I think I was there at 8pm? It lasts for about 10 minutes, tops.

Yeah, if you're ever in town, try to catch it with your very own eyes!

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WWRLqEgil4

Here's a short snippet of it.

The heat was so intense at some points that you can feel a very mild burning sensation!

Everybody (especially tourists) stopped and watched it in awe

Just a nice silhouette 🙂

Southbank was buzzing with people even late at night!

Now that's what I'm talking about 😉

Lovely sights!

Stopped by the bridge to take picture but was constantly photobombed by drunk boys

OMG leave me alone! They insisted a picture anyhow. Reminds me of what one of my readers once commented, "You always seem to attract weird men huh" LOL. That made me laugh!!!

ZOMG! Trying not to ruin my smile.

Ok photo over. You can go now kthxbai

Gave up trying to take a solo picture as they wouldn't leave me alone unless I joined their nightly drunken crusades or left the spot.

Obviously, I politely declined their offer with an awkward smile and chose the latter. We adjourned home soon after. Phew.

Back at Flinders Street Station

So that was my 12 hour day out at the city.

Didn't feel so lost anymore when I went downtown again the following weekend!

Can't wait to go back. Countdown: 55 days!

Of sexy hot strippers & erotic dancers! A Chippendales concert @ Singapore F1 Grand Prix entertainment

October 1, 2010 by thejessicat

If ANY of you do not know who or what the Chippendales are, you obviously haven't done your natural, inhibited selves a huge favour.

*winks* They're world-famous and tickets to watch them LIVE costs a few high hundreds!

During the weekend when I was in Singapore for the Formula One Grand Prix race, I was thrilled to know that there was a free Chippendales showcase ongoing. WATCH ALL THE VIDEOS I CAPTURED BELOW, OKAY? 😀

When the show began, it kicked off with energetic and macho dance routines… all in perfect coordination and timing!

It's the cowboys from the era of the Wild Wild West!

There's just something about watching very masculine men pumping to the beat of the strong bass.

And I like tattoo-ed men.

This touring company of male erotic performers come from across the globe, in all SHAPES AND SIZES (Yes, I'm insinuating something. Go figure) There were Caucasians, Africans, Asians, Europeans and other exotic mixed races.

So much breakdancing, crumping, popping, locking and dropping!

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mo0ZJwOTnWg

Usher's OMG with these sexy thangs in formal attire

Their well choreographed stunts were amazing! Those hip hop moves certainly found their way into these men's muscular and very flexible bodies.

Yes take that shirt off for us, hotstuff 😉

Touch yourself in places, we cant!

Errr.. yes. Something like that 😉

(Sans the clothes)

The Chippendales did not only just dance, but they sang as well. Very well, in fact!

Here's my fave video of the night. Hunky, topless & muscular men performing to Akon's Sexy Bitch (some striptease!)

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zxzzU5hJuQ

Love their dance and Bryan Chan in his F1 racer suit!

Popular songs such as Down by Jay Sean, Harder to Breathe by Maroon 5, Hero by Enrique Iglesias, OMG by Usher, among the many others too

Their role-play was simply top notch as well! Astounding, if I do say so myself.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKFcZs7o394

Buffy aircraft cleaners, anyone? 🙂

So much so that I wonder if my gardener, butler is secretly as hot as them underneath their immaculate uniforms? Their clandestine self intrigues me. Hmmmm… 😉

MAKE WAY FOR THE PILOT, CAPTAIN OF YOUR FLIGHT TONIGHT!

So… when smart and desirable pilots in their full uniform slowly take everything off one by one, what happens?

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cugjUMtR5c

Down till their American flag boxers babeh!

Among the roleplays they presented were pilots, lumberjacks, carpenters, firemen, janitors, construction workers, policemen, cowboys and lots more.

Ya know those typical masculine jobs 😀 😀

Construction workers HARD at work with their tools of trade

Obviously, throughout all their singing and dance routines, they weaved in their expertise to complete this full-blown show.

Little by little, they take a bit of their clothes off. Teasing and igniting your senses until they're down to their undergarments.

I've honestly never sat in a concert hall with this amount of immense screaming and cheering by the ladies before!!!

A STRIPTEASE AND EROTIC MALE DANCING was on the prowl!!

Seriously ladies, do yourselves a favour and watch them LIVE if you can. You'll feel more of a woman after that!

You don't know so many ladies volunteering to go up on stage with them when these hunky men asked for a representative of the crowd.

Such irresistible eye candies at your pleasure.

Have an open mind and embrace your natural instincts, I implore you.

And, if you think all these are too explicit for you to compute, I'm so very sorry that you don't have normal, healthy female hormones.

Every girl has her fantasy, likewise, every man. If men can treat themselves to a collection of erotic material and be proud of it, I don't see why straight girls can't indulge in this and celebrate their sexuality as well!

The Chippendales are professionals and they perform excellently at what they do.

Do you see your man doing this in bed to turn you on and ignite your senses? Pffftt.

So shut up, sit back and relax.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2xFyc7B2P8

Howzabout hotstuffs in glow in the dark underwear spreading luminous paint all over themselves?

Loosen up and acknowledge that femme fatale in you. Muahahaha. And while you're at it, ride that cowboy. Yeeeeee hawww!

And I'm not only speaking for the ladies, gay men… REJOICE!! :D Coz this post is for you too.

It's really fun to see such an attractive man all fully (and well) dressed with a coat, vest, tie and fedora….

……..bare it all down to nothing but a kinky bowtie and skin.

OBVIOUSLY he has jeans on in this photo la!

The best bits are meant to be watched LIVE with your very own eyes.

They're indeed one talented bunch, hats off to them! (or clothes? :P)

A STANDING ovation, in every sense of the word. Thanks again, Maxis & Lotus Racing

To save the best for last, here's a permanent fixture I'd see on my bedside every night *winks*

(yes I was given a framed-up hardcopy)

And these were the words my favorite one said to me – "How're doing baby? Bet you loved our show didn't you? Come park your ass right here on my lap."

I think I just died and went to heaven.
