Loved the exclusive Johnnie Walker Black Circuit VIP raceparty @ 32 Mansion, Penang! The glitz, the glamour and razzle-dazzle of it all

September 1, 2011 by thejessicat

Yay finally!

I wanted to publish this blogpost earlier but decided to wait till the official photos were out by Johnnie Walker too!

And I’ve been collecting other photos that I was tagged in on Facebook by my friends too.

Sorry if this post took a while! I promise it’ll be worth the wait. Teehee.

So yes, I arrived at the premises with my invitation

Oh and I absolutely loved how they crafted the invitations. Such a classy feel!

It was in the form of a gold cuff/bangle in a beautiful shiny, black box.

Thanks for the photo, Minny!

They also gave a gold necklace to the ladies(which you will see me wearing) and a gold tie-pin for the gegentlemen as doorgifts.

This was the location – 32 Mansion – of which was decorated in a really elaborate manner!

So, are you ready to party with Johnnie Walker?

I sure am!

At the entrance

Camwhored  for a bit before stepping inside the Black Circuit

Oh and you can see the gold necklace rather clearly in this piccie!

The moment I entered the mansion, I was in awe.

They’ve transformed the insides into something so magnificent!

Was served Johnnie Walker cocktails the very moment I entered

Decided to give ALL the cocktails a taste!

The ones in the front row: Gold Rush | 2nd row: Black 75 | final row was my favourite, Black Circuit!

There were booths available for the whiskey tasting!

Guests were taught the RIGHT way of savouring it

And no, the trick is not to gulp it straight down….

Teehee.

The bar where mixologists were doing their thang!

I never miss an opportunity against the photowall 😀 😀

Thanks for the photo, Jun Fook!

There were a couple of booths for guests to ‘check-in’ our location to Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare too

After I was done mingling and drinking at the foyer, I explored further around the mansion

And found my table!

Thank you Johnnie Walker, for giving me a table and having it strategically right smack in the middle of the dance floor, facing the DJ console too!

They made my day even before the party started! 🙂 🙂

Before we knew it, emcees of the night Hanson and Hannah kick-started the event.

Lights, camera, action!

They gave us a very warm welcome and introduced the 1st DJ of the evening.

Hey homeboy DJ Reeve, do your thang & spin that shizz on the decks for us tonight! 😉

DJ Reeve from Malaysia!

My close knitted homies came soon after. Was so glad to see them again!

As I spend most of my days in KL, I always look forward to our hang outs everytime I come back to Penang

There’s more of us, but they’re laaaaate! 🙂

You’ll see them in a bit

My babes and I.  Loves!

Apart from my very own homies & other bloggers, I bumped into friends from the industry too

Throughout the event guests were served not only free-flow of Johnnie Walker Black Label, but also a torrent of delightful chocolates! A delicious assortment of white, dark and milk chocolates kept coming at me as though beckoning me to have more.

And you all know how much of a sucker I am for chocolates. Simply couldn’t resist!

Say whaaaaaad? 😛

Oh yeah. Chocolates galore. A generous amount was served to us!

I was made a very happy girl yet again.

Yes, chocolates make me happy, if you must know 🙂

Apart from all those awesome-pawsome things about the party so far, was the fact that I got to rekindle with some of my childhood and high school bunch of tfriends all over again.

Heck, I’ve not seen some of them ever since we left school!

Penang gurls in the haus!

Girl Guides of the same patrol back in 2005!

Classmates in primary school and squash mates in high school!

Convent girls of 2006/2007 all grown up

More of my fellow Penang peeps!

Wootwoot

I was psyched how the Black Circuit party brought together so many familiar faces; especially ones whom I’ve lost touch with. I was practically fluttering around to many different tables and coincidentally bumping into more and more old friends!

And Johnnie Walker was perfect as our toast to friendship!

Oh and ya know what’s also great during the event?

The fact that polaroids were given out to remember the night. Absolute WIN!

I’ve mentioned numerous times before; a party is never complete without a photo souvenir for keeps

That makes all the difference; compared to the usual digital photos uploaded online

We kept downing our drinks; but never fail to stay within limits.

As we keep in mind to drink responsibly – as advocated by Johnnie Walker!

The emcees took to the dance floor again to “check” on us and how we were doing! 😀 😀

Also, the next DJ was announced. DJ FM from our neighbouring country, Singapore

It’s your turn to crank up the volume, deejay!

From the window, to the wall

This party’s jumpin’ till tomorrow!

We drink the whole bottle but it ain’t over!

Errrbody’s jumping 😀

Day-O, me say Day-O

Daylight come and we don’t wanna go home 😀

We were the 1st ones to hit the dance floor, babeh!

Josiah and I 🙂

Geez duuuude, your complexion is way better than mine haha! *jealous*

With buddy Calvin

With my babe, Minny!

Oh yes, another family photo of my homies!

(Still incomplete LOL)

Ren and I!

Let’s let’s let’s get it started in here!

Flanked by Eric and Jun Fook

Emcees were back on the dancefloor!

I honestly couldn’t remember what they were saying cos I was having too much fun at the time.

But I jolly well knew when they welcomed the 3rd and final DJ of the night!

Let’s take it to the skies, DJ Teemaree!!!

Read about my interview with her: here

Had a chance to sit down for 15 minutes for a short but enlightening interview 😀 Check it out yo

Another family photo with the homies with DJ Teemaree spinning in the background!

Bumped into EVEN MORE friends that night!

Eric who pimps my Blackberry!

With Chia Li!

OMG I DID NOT JUST DO THE ASIAN “5” POSE. What’s wrong with me?! -__-” argh!

DJ keep it movin!

I raved so hard when she played the electro-house tracks.

Hell to the yeah!

Boss Selva and I

Ahhh…. Back in the days when I was the photographer for the Mois!

Smile for the camera! 🙂

Two very tired (and slightly tipsy) bloggers

THE PARTY WAS STILL ON FULL SWING TILL THE WEE HOURS OF THE MORNING!

Now that’s what I call a flippin’ awesome party.

No party shall end before midnight, in my books!

And most definitely not a night like Johnnie Walker Black Circuit parties!

My highlight of the night: I rubbed my eyes twice/thrice when I saw my best friend Joyce in front of me

She was supposed to be my plus one for the party; something came up so she had to pull a raincheck on me

Imagine my surprise when I saw her – with her invitation that I saved for her? Geez. How did she get it?

Found out that one of my homies took out her invitation from my box and passed it to her outside!

Apparently I did not notice while I was partying the skies down and my cellphone battery died on me

So, finally, FAMILY PHOTO COMPLETE!

(Except a few who weren’t at the party)

GUESS WHAT!!?

Also found out it was DJ Teemaree’s birthday!

So we’ve come to the end of this lengthy post. I hope it was worth the read!

Seriously, what’s there not to love about this party but it’s entirety? I’ve said all I needed to say and….

I give it a 5 star rating; very apt with its 5 star standard!

I went home with memories of arguably the most fantastic party of my life ever since I returned from Australia

Thank you once again, Johnnie Walker for bringing us an amazing night.

The Black Circuit Penang night was stellar; more than honoured to be your guest! See you around at the next party!

Keep Walking, you sexy beast of a Striding Man 😉

 Much love, TheJessicat

Hands up for hot female DJs! Up close n’ personal with DJ Teemaree (USA) in our exclusive interview!

August 26, 2011 by thejessicat

I'm typing this with a mad hangover right now.

But it's only because the Johnnie Walker Black Circuit event in Penang was THAT good.

And no, I'm not saying it's good just like any other good, ordinary party. It was stellar. Simply marvellous. Despite all the events/parties I've been attending to ever since I got back to Malaysia. the Black Circuit last night was unlike any other.

Anyway, more about the party in another blogpost, okay?

For now, let's get on to DJ Teemaree, one of the DJs that cranked up the party last night!

Hands up for hot female DJ!

She hails from Los Angeles, California and was flown down to Malaysia by Johnnie Walker to be one of the 3 DJs playing at the Black Circuit raceparty last night. I had a chance to interview her yesterday afternoon before the party began.

Jun Fook, Eric and I waiting for her to arrive City Bayview hotel

Let's get it on! 😉

Below is the interview that I've transcribed 🙂

Enjoy!

First of all, we'd like to welcome you to Malaysia!

(Bright cheery smile) Thank you so much!

So when did you touch down in Penang exactly?

Oh I arrived on Tuesday.. I think?

That means you've been here for 2 days already. I hope you've adjusted to the weather?

It's wonderful here! The weather is humid but its not cold. Although it's a rainy day now, it's not cold as compared to the states

What do you fancy about Malaysia so far?

Oh it's something new; very much different than the US. The food is amazing!

We're proud of that 😉 So what local delicacies have you tried so far?

Oh wait, wait! (Refers to jottings of food) I had it written down. So far, I've tried Teh Tarik (Yummy yummy!) Roti Canai, Ice Kacang, Mee Sotong and Roti Jala. Nice. *<——-Rather accurate pronunciation of Bahasa Malaysia!*

We've read up on you; you're a mother, an actress, a DJ, and also a model. How do you juggle between all your different roles?

Oh, you need lots of organization, don't ever give up. When u begin, you're on your own but as you progress you will have a team/organization that assists you to your bookings/appointments. So yeah, right now I do.

Having 2 children to occupy your time with does your kids know what you're doing and are they supportive of it?

Yes my kids are very supportive of me, I'm really glad! 🙂

How old are your little ones?

Oh my kids are teenagers; my daughter is turning 19 and my son is 17.

Oh they're in their teens. Would be pretty cool for them to say that they have a DJ mom!!

How did DJ-ing for you come about anyway?

I went to a club for the 1st time and I loved the music cranked up by the DJ so much. I told myself, "I want to do that." The equipment was kinda pricey, but I managed to get my 1st set-up at home. Then I learned from my fellow DJ friend and then I started doing it on my own!

That's pretty cool, starting from scratch just like that. Tell us more about your music?

Oh I play mainly electro, hiphop, R&B, Pop and some 80s

That's a nice combination of mambo jambo. So what will we be expecting from you tonight? 🙂

Well, I'll be playing some electro, some pop and throwing in some things that you guys hvnt heard!

Could you share with us some of your fave DJs?

I enjoy listening to Doc Martin and Kaskade

Oh, I absolutely love Kaskade! My personal fave would be his collabo with Deadmau5 in 'I Remember'.

Ah yes, Kaskade and Deadmau5! Yes!! Their showmanship is wonderful.

Describe a routine day in the life of DJ Teemaree.

I wake up in the mornings, get ready for my day, do some admin work from myhome office, check on my schedule, oh and there's some gym involved somewhere haha! After that, I head off to my appointments, sometimes I have auditioning projects, interviews. All my days vary. There's never a day that's the same.

Oh gosh, that's a really long day!

Yeah, my day lasts up to 16 hours!

You must be real busy then. But if you weren't DJ-ing, what would you see yourself doing?

My heart is creative, I'm passionate towards creativity. But if I weren't a DJ, I'd act. If not, I'd be helping people. My latest passion philanthropy at the moment.

Oh, dabbling into social community projects and philanthropy. Another Angelina Jolie in the making, ey? 😛

(laughs loudly) Probably, but I don't adopt children though!!!

Where has DJing taken you around the world?

Oh, I've been to various parts of the United States. Also, Mexico and Bahamas. This is 1st time in Asia thanks to Johnnie Walker!

That's really nice. You must be excited. When do you leave back to the States?

Tomorrow morning 🙁

Already??? 3 days isn't quite enough in Penang!

I know!!! 🙁 There's still so much to see. But I just hope I'll have a good time tonight. I'm really looking forward to it.

Also, how would you describe your style; fashion wise?

Oh I'm a bit of hiphop, rock and bohemian.

Yeah, I can see the bohemian streak in you by that earring you're wearing right there. Did you wear only one on purpose?

(Giggles) Yes. I sometimes wear 1 earring and sometimes both earrings will be different.

Yeah, I can relate to that. It's nice being fashion forward in a different way!

Thank you for your time DJ Teemaree. To save the best for last. Give tonight's party people a shout out!

Oh! Okay cool, I really hope you have an enjoyable time tonight. Thank you Johnnie Walker for giving me this opportunity to play in Malaysia. To al the partygoers out there, I hope you visit me in the USA or online! Visit me on my site too, www.teemaree.com. I really hope to come back!

We hope to see you back soon too. It was a pleasure talking to you!  We look forward to seeing you tonight on the DJ console 🙂

DJ Teemaree, flanked by Jun Fook and I

DJ Teemaree, in my opinion, had a really friendly demeanour and bubbly personality.

She also had this very down-to-earth aura about her when she spoke and shared her stories with us

T'was a pleasure to have spoken to her personally. I was especially thrilled when she caught sight of me, waved and grinned at me on the dancefloor while she was spinning the decks at the party!

Also, your music was amazing, babe! As much as I could remember from last night, I absolutely loved the electro-house tracks that she was playing. I somehow remember raving to those of Afrojack's, Skrillex's and a few others. Or did I not? 😛

Till then, wait for the massive blogpost on Johnnie Walker Black circuit party!

The party of the year is back: Johnnie Walker Black Circuit Lounge party hits the shores of Penang Island!

August 18, 2011 by thejessicat

Ohhh finally!!! *jumps for joy*

Guess what, guess what, party peeps?

This red-head fan of Johnnie Walker Black Label is overjoyed because…..

I've just got word that JOHNNIE WALKER®, will continue their iconic and successful series of glamorous Black Circuit VIP race parties by launching the first event of its kind in my hometown, Penang!

It will be held on Thursday, 25th August at a secret location (hush hush!) to be revealed only a few days before the party!

If you didn't already know, JOHNNIE WALKER® is

the world's leading Scotch whisky and the #1 whisky in Malaysia

Exclusively for loyal JOHNNIE WALKER ® fans, aficionados and society high flyers, the BLACK CIRCUIT PENANG will whisk guests into the luxurious lifestyle of international motorsport.

Here are some pics of the previous Black Circuit party :

Entrance to the party before it begins!

Get ready, raise your glasses, party people!

Nothing better than god-awesome music + a hot female DJ spinning at the decks

After everyone's pretty much pumped up with Johnnie Walker, time to hit the dance floor!

Now who's ready to party with me at JOHNNIE WALKER®'s Black Circuit party at the end of this month?

ZOMG I can't wait!!!! :D

I've always had my moments with JOHNNIE WALKER®, so much so that it brings memories! 😀

Whenever I'm partying, at least ONE bottle of Black Label will be on the table.

Don't believe me?  Wanna see some of them? Pay attention to the bottle. Let the good times roll –

My 19th Birthday party

We'd down it all before you can say, ohmygawd! 😀

Last year's Merdeka party

My 20th birthday party

My 21st birthday party

Oh and here's a fun fact!

JOHNNIE WALKER® is the global partner of Formula One team VMM since 2005 because they both share the values of innovation, winning and leadership.

Pretty damn sleek

I've been quite the race junkie at Formula One races as well.

Apart from being dubbed the speed demon by my friends on the road, I could only wish to be just like Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button, both equally successful F1 drivers for the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula One ™ team.

Check out a screenshot I took of the Formula One press conference when I was down in Singapore!

That's Lewis Hamilton on the extreme right

Who wouldn't wanna be them? They enjoy the fruits of  high-flying lifestyle.

Geez. How I wish I could experience it for myself. They live life on the fast lane – just the way I'd like to see my life as. Drifting, negotiating sharp corners on the race track, accelerating not only their cars but their adrenalin as well. (And not getting a speeding ticket for it LOL!)

Here's a picture of Jensen Button I shot at the Singapore F1 Grand Prix @ Marina Bay Street Circuit

And one of Lewis Hamilton at the Malaysian Grand Prix @ Sepang Race Circuit

Anyway!

Watch the video below! It'll pretty much give you a sneak peak on what you'll be expecting at the race party:

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y73FBQw-y34

So how can I not adore and look forward to the Black Circuit Lounge party so much?

It's the time to celebrate – in style

Oh and here's something important before I go.

Johnnie Walker® have always been encouraging people to stay in control, including joining the pact to never drink and drive (www.jointhepact.com).

Responsible drinking is important to me as I personally feel we ought to do everything-including partying our hearts out- in moderation. There should be a limit to everything we do and drinking excessively will not only cause you to be a party pooper but it will also make you not remember what a blast you had the night before; that sucks big time! 🙁

Drinking responsibly will also ensure you're aware of your behaviour (or lack thereof) instead of "doing stuff" or other actions you might regret when you are sober.

To effectively get everyone to take the message seriously, I suggest that every group of friends/partygoers should make it a habit to appoint at least 2 people responsible for the night to watch over each other to not cross a limit of 4-5 standard drinks (a unit that measures the amount of alcohol in mililitres) and they should definitely be the ones driving.

You don't wanna be known as the BAD DRUNK among your friends, right?

So be smart.

Plus, you'd get such a bad hangover the next morning and it will pretty much ruin your mood.

And yes, I speak from experience; never again! I've learnt it the hard way, so I'd like to advocate a message to all my fellow partygoers out there:

NEVER DRINK AND DRIVE!

pretty please?

Are you ready? You better be 😉

Cos I'm all geared up ready to fire away!

Also, while you're at it…

Join the JOHNNIE WALKER® Malaysia Facebook page at facebook.com/JohnnieWalkerMalaysia

Cheers & make sure I see you at the party!!
