Uplifting my weekend at ELEVATE : Feel the Difference @ PISA, Penang Island!

July 23, 2012 by thejessicat

If there’s no reason for me to visit my lovely island, I will find every reason to.

Fortunately, ELEVATE hit the shores of Penang last fortnight and extended me an invitation to be part of the happenings at Penang International Sports Arena (PISA) for a night of mingling, music and mayhem!

Headed back to the island to attend ELEVATE!

Before I begin, I would like to congratulate the winners for my contest once again.

Thanks for participating, everyone! ‘Till the next giveaway! πŸ˜€

Hope all 5 of you enjoyed yourselves!Β

I arrived at the party scene with both my plus-twos as early as 9pm.

As VIP guests, we were ushered to the front of the extremely long queue.Β :DΒ Thank you, ELEVATE!

Entering the venue

Cool set up at the podium!Β

Upon reaching the arena, it was great to have met and reunited with so many familiar faces – the party hasn’t even started yet!

Then again, it IS Penang Island after all, where everyone knows everyoneΒ

((Style of the Day))

TheJessicat wears : Two-toned tube dress by Forever 21 | Shoulder bag by Coach |

Blue tie-dyed scarf by moms! | Clinch belt by a bazaar in Singapore |

Blue slingback platforms by Forever 21

One of the 1st few things that caught my eye was a green screen where guests could have their photos taken with an image of your choice photo-imposed into the background.

Here’s another photo booth whereby guests couldΒ take photos and upload them directly onto Facebook!

LOL yeah, that’s me trying to take a photo of the photobooth taking a photo of me.

PHOTOCEPTION!

The result

Before the 1st act of the night was set to hit the stage, I scoured the arena and mingled about with some friends over free-flow of Carlsberg and scotch whiskey.Β

Some photos!Β :D

Usherettes were also seen walking around the arena inviting guests to play some interactive iPad games where we could win ourselves pretty cool prizes!

I had fun blasting green fireballs at the usherettes and…. I won myself aΒ lighter that emit green flames when flicked!Β

Before we knew it, the opening act had begun after the MC’s warm welcome!

We had the pleasure of having Korean born DJ Siera Lee, who is now based in Sydney, to spin for us tonight.

She played a good mash-up of R&B, popular pop hits and Electronic Dance Music.

We had fun dancing to her tracks!

Next up was the Mocha Girls, a dance group comprising 5 sizzling hot ladies from The Philippines

They were excellent in their energetic dance routines & sang very well too!

Totally reminded me of The Pussycat Dolls with their similar demeanour and styleΒ :D

Even the lead singer, Mocha, resembled Nicole Sherzinger somehow!

They were not only energetic, they were extremely flexible!

We were thoroughly entertained, especially the male guests methinksΒ :P

ELEVATE : FEEL THE DIFFERENCE

Continued mingling with my fellow partyhats!Β

Here are some more photos πŸ˜€

And the party doesn’t stop!Β

Everyone were all pumped up to watch the final 2 acts for the night πŸ˜€

Guess who was on the dance floor partying with us as well?

DJ Siera Lee! πŸ˜€

Group photo! πŸ˜€

Thank you for tonight, Don!Β

After a very elaborate entrance and a buzzing digital lightplay show on the panoramic screens, the walls of the staged spun 360 degrees and DJ Hiloco aka Nerodoll appeared before our very eyes! πŸ˜€

On to the decks!

A brilliant collaboration soon ensued.

8TV’s Showdown 2011 champions with a pretty epic group name – Elecoldxhot, performed a perfectly tight, synchronized and fascinating dance routine while DJ Hiloco spun her set.

Dressed smartly in their funky streetwear, they burst out and set fire to the stage

Turn up the heat, boys!

With their crazy popping, locking, breakdancing, shuffling and so many more dances,

it was no wonder they walked away as winners from Showdown 2011!

I was busy bobbing in unison as well!

Very awestruck, I was. Loved it!Β Β They’ve got so much swag

DJ Hiloco

After their mind-blowing performance, DJ Hiloco continued her set and raised the temperature even higher.

Her eclectic set of Electronic Dance Music comprising mainly trance, progressive house, techno, dubstep, brostep, electro and big room, made me want to never leave the arena!Β

She was fabulous!

After an exciting time out at a energy-driven party, I was all drained from the night.

Penang certainly never fails to bring me excitement and fun.. apart from the food of course πŸ˜›

Another Saturday night well spent!

Check out the links for ELEVATE KL and IPOH here that took place later this year.

My Hennessy Artistry Penang Experience + Press Conference with the artistes of the night

June 21, 2012 by thejessicat

My weekend went swell… it was a blast in every sense of the word!

Thanks to Hennessy Malaysia, I flew down to Penang on Saturday to attend Hennessy Artistry Penang.

At one of the many Hennessy bars during the press conference in the afternoon

As I've announced before in this blogpost, Hennessy Artistry is back with a bang this 2012!

The aforementioned party which I had the pleasure of attending, marks the very first of its trilogy of parties this year!

We arrived the airport as early as 9 o' clock in the morning, boarded the plane by Malaysia Airlines and had a pleasant flight towards Penang. Touched down safely just before noon.

Lunchtime at Blue Reef Fish & Chips @ Straits Quay

The grilled Chilean Sea Bass aka Cod with Prawns was delicious!

We were then ushered to Straits Quay Convention Centre for the Press Conference session along with a Meet & Greet with the artistes of the event.

They were Taiwan Mandopop boyband Lollipop F, UK Grammy-Award Trance DJ Andy Moor and our very talented local acts DJ Ramsey Westwood, DJ Ernest C and singer/vocalist Suki Low.

This way to the venue

At the Hennessy Artistry photowall!

Had a sneak peak into the venue before anyone else.

The moment I stepped in, I was in awe!

Loved how they transformed the convention hall into such a posh bar-lounge to mingle about

Heaps of tables, chairs & lounge sofas for guests to chill with their fave Hennessy drinks

Guests will have their photo taken at the Hennessy 360 Camera platform!

Love it! So much fun πŸ˜€

That, my dears, is only the beginning!

For behind the curtains is the stage, many bars, lounge sofas, podiums and more located within the enormous party zone capable of hosting more than 2000 party-goers.

Patience, pet! :D Patience!

The bar boasting Hennessy's signature long drinks :

Hennessy Apple, Hennessy Berry, Hennessy Ginger & Hennessy Soda!

I had my fave Hennessy Apple made by the Hennessy girls manning the bar

Dear Hennessy, congrats on your lovely new bottle again!

Before we knew it, the MC of the event, MTV VJ Rich, ushered us to gather around before he welcomed the artistes of Hennessy Artistry Penang 2012 to the venue!

Richard Herrera aka MTV VJ Rich. He's a bit of a looker, is he not? πŸ˜‰  πŸ˜‰

We had the opportunity to speak to them and find out what they think about this party.

Questions were posed and from there we got to know the stars a tad better πŸ™‚

Owodog from Lollipop F answering a question from the floor

Did you know that the 'F' in 'Lollipop F' represents their FOUR members? πŸ˜€

Now we do.

Local DJs Ernest C and Ramsey Westwood sharing their sentiments

Suki Low and Andy Moor listening attentively

Candid shot! Suki Low in smiles

After the press conference, I told her how I watched her grow since her victory as a 16 year old girl in 8TV's One in a Million reality TV show. She seemed rather surprised and bashful about my knowing of her since way back then! :)

I was excited to watch her perform ever since her debut in 2006.

DJ Ramsey smile for the camera!

Rams and I :)

Ramsey, a fellow Penangite, is a friend of mine since teenagehood

Looking forward to watch him play tonight as (let's be honest) I've never watched him play LIVE before! πŸ˜›

Andy Moor. My eyecandy of the night!

I couldn't believe I was sitting about 2 feet directly in front of Andy Moor.

I've been listening to his works and remixes for a couple of years now and this British trance & progressive music DJ/Producer is nothing short of talented!  Take a listen to his tracks, it's really good πŸ˜€

I asked Andy a question : What will we partygoers be expecting from you and your set tonight?

To which he answered : I'm very excited about tonight. Expect a whole lot of groove.. and energy!

Andy Moor and I  My day (life) is complete πŸ˜›

Here's a group photo of all the artistes of Hennessy Artistry Penang 2012!

Cheers! Tonight's gonna be a good night πŸ˜€

Managed to steal a photo with MTV VJ Rich before everything was over πŸ˜›

When the Press Conference was over, we were left all pumped up and excited to partyrock on tonight with free-flow of superb drinks by Hennessy, a stellar line up, good music and many familiar faces!

You know there's always a good party with the world's leading cognac, Hennessy VSOP, around!

We were then chauffeured back to our crib for the night, G-Hotel along Gurney Drive!

I took a short rest, had a piping hot shower and began dolling up for tonight's event.

My room

Dubbed Penang's Most Stylish Address, it was a pleasure to have stayed in this seafront hotel that comes with a breathtaking coastal view. Except though, rather unfortunately, it wasn't the most breathtaking view as I had imagined due to the low tide of the sea.

Bummer! πŸ™

My workspace for the weekend.

Had only very little time to bask in the comfort and spaciousness of my room during the day, a little bit during the night and the morning after, but I made sure I did! :D

But my love for my King Sized bed knows no boundaries!

Giant mirrors too. I approve! πŸ˜€

Now excuse me, while I put my best foot forward for tonight

Just before the event began, we had dinner at Hisago Modern Japanese Restaurant @ Straits Quay

I had cod again, but with Soft Shell Crab Maki and Sashimi this time!

After a satisfiying meal at Hisago, it was time to turn up the party dial!

Hennessy Artistry Penang 2012 was just about to begin…

Stay tuned!

See you at the super clubbing phenomenon! H-Artistry Trilogy begins at Hennessy Artistry Penang 2012 Straits Quay Convention Center (SQCC)

June 13, 2012 by thejessicat

Phew!

Now that the exam season is over and done with, I can finally bid farewell to life in university goodbye

Unless I return for a post-graduate Masters degree, that is.

But for now, I'm all roaring ready and looking forward to the weekend already!

If you've been following my blog for long, you would know that I frequent Hennessy Artistry parties often dating all the way back in 2009

LOL My 20 year old self back in the first few Hennessy Artistry parties ever

Oh and remember this epic one held at Bukit Kiara in 2009 featuring Fat Man Scoop & the Ying Yang Twins?

Yup, was wicked indeed.

But before you whine WHY DO ARTISTRY SERIES OF PARTIES HAPPEN IN KL ONLY!?!

Fret not

The premier, super-clubbing phenomenon is back and ready to rock your socks off.

Get ready for three explosive parties!

The first of which is all-set to begin in Penang Island this 16th June at the

gorgeous waterfront of Straits Quay!

A turnout of more than 2000 revellers are estimated, making Artistry the biggest party to be held on the island

The first instalment of H-Artistry 2012 will feature an all-new Art of Mixing zone, signature Hennessy V.S.O.P long drinks and the trademark Hennessy Artistry party atmosphere

(Epic as ever. I can certainly vouch for that!)

Artistes who will be our entertainment for the night

The sensational line-up features chart-topping Mandopop sensation Lollipop F, UK grammy-award nominated trance DJ/Producer Andy Moor (YAY!!) as well as Malaysia's local talents Suki Low, Ernest C and Ramsey Westwood

Being an electronic dance music enthusiast, I certainly cannot wait for Andy Moor

to drop some of his sick beats and bring the house down!

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7idRTKiQUlM

Here's one of my faves, 'Fight the Fire'

How do you attend?

This is an invitation-only event. If you want to attend this party, head on to H-Artistry's Facebook page

Alternatively, you can purchase a bottle of Hennessy VSOP from these outlets to redeem your invitation

Hope you're just as excited as me to tear up the night this weekend in Penang!

Will be flying off to Penang this Saturday morning for a press conference with the artistes & party at night!

Let me know if you want to ask any of the stars anything! πŸ™‚

SEE YOU PARTY PEOPLE THERE! x

Something sleek & sexy has landed at the Hennessy V.S.O.P New Bottle Launch! @ Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, KL

June 7, 2012 by thejessicat

When I was extended an invitation to celebrate the official launch of the all-new shiny and curvaceous bottle of Hennessy VSOP, I could hardly contain my excitement!

Witnessing something of such grandeur – especially the evolution of the World's #1 cognac, a new Hennessy bottle – meant a lot to me as my family (dating from the days of my great grandparents) frequently open bottles of their favorite cognac, Hennessy for all family occasions.

My plus-one for the evening & I

Which goes to say that I've seen previous designs on the older bottles belonging to my grandparents, all displayed beautifully in the cabinets of our bottle collection.

Cannot wait to put this spanking new one beside its predecessors!

Here, I arranged all the 4 different types of drinks I had

We were served Hennessy's signature long drinks upon arrival

There were (L-R clockwise) Hennessy Soda, Hennessy Apple, Hennessy Ginger & Hennessy Berry

My favorite one of the lot was the Hennessy Apple!

Loving the distinctive taste of Hennessy VSOP cognac with a hint of sweet, apple flavour

We were ushered to the foyer to mingle about before the event began.

I was told by the awesome team behind this party that the celebration will be divided into two parts :

The WHITE Room & The BLACK Room

But before that, some photos of my friends & I at the foyer sipping on delightful Hennessy VSOP cognac!

There was so much merriment in the house!

Catching up with my friends & having a drink of Hennessy VSOP cognac with more lovely people totally set the mood for the evening

We were served an array of finger-food to complement our drinks too!

Good god, those miniature pies were delicious!

But not as delicious as my favourite Hennessy Apple, of course! ;)

The beautiful Hennessy girls then ushered us into The White Room to witness the launch of the new, elegant Hennessy VSOP Cognac bottle and new packaging design! :D

More food & drinks were in store for us too!

The peeps behind this event sure know how to keep our tummies happy & satiated huh πŸ˜›

Drinks were served in abundance and I must say, how could I resist? They were simply divine

The bartenders were friendly and entertained me with their bartending stunts before making my drink!

Theboyf and I in the White Room

Outfit of the Day! TheJessicat wears :

Dress by Dorothy Perkins

Belt from Bangkok

Netted long cardigan by Jaspal

Bag from an online boutique

Peep-toe glass wedges by Aldo

Upon settling down at the table, I caught sight of 2 very familiar bottles on stage.

How time has passed! Hennessy's unchanged personality has been enjoyed for almost 2 centuries now

Hennessy's old bottle designs!

If you didn't know, the legend of Hennessy VSOP began on 7th October 1817 when the future King George IV of England requested the great French cognac house to supply him with a very special cognac described in the record with the words "Very Superior Old Pale".

Legends are shaped over time. And for a premium cognac that has been celebrated worldwide for 7 generations, their secrets of selection, aging and blending has been passed down over the years till today!

With an old buddy, this charismatic lad, Will Quah :)

He's the emcee of tonight's event as well!

Will welcomed us all and made a celebratory toast to Hennessy VSOP's newly launched designs.

He then announced that we were going to have a very special guest appearance……

?

ANY GUESSES ON WHO IT IS?

None other than the MAN behind these gorgeous new Hennessy bottle designs!

If you're into cars (especially BMWs) you would recognize him with just one glance. The Hennessy V.S.O.P new carafe is his first masterpiece outside the automobile industry.

Chris Bangle, from the United States of America, was flown in specially for a guest appearance & to give a (simplified) LIVE demonstration of his work.

Chris Bangle and I

We were pleased to have designer Christopher Edward "Chris" Bangle, the legendary figure in the automobile world, of BMW and Rolls Royce fame, to commemorate the evening with us :D

He is best known for his daring design and far-reaching influence in his works as Chief of Design for BMW Group, where he was responsible for the BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce motor cars from 1992 to 2006

The mastermind stood beside his brainchild and spoke about his experience behind this bottle design.

"Designing for Hennessy gave me the same sensations as working on

designs for fast BMWs or a great Rolls Royce.

It is that experience of a unique emotion,"

– Chris Bangle

He demonstrated LIVE on big screen before our very eyes,

how he redesigned the contours to emphasize its sleek silhouette

A presentation was held to showcase Hennessy VSOP's new bottle design & packaging.

Guests witnessed its appearance in awe πŸ™‚ It was simply exquisite. Here they are!

Introducing a more refined & dramatised new look of the Hennessy VSOP Cognac

I will share more secrets & beauty of the bottle in my next blogpost! πŸ˜€

After the presentation in The White Room was over,

we were ushered by the Hennessy girls to adjourn to The Black Room

Wow.

Just.. wow.

Here in The Black Room, it was Hennessy's own private party thrown for us in celebration of their new bottle!

The spacious room with amazing surround sound & bass, defined a clubbing experience with Hennessy, complete with comfy lounge sofas, free flow of Hennessy VSOP long drinks, a dance floor, a 360 camera photo-shooting raised platform, 2 DJs dropping electronic dance music for us party people and more!

Are we ready?

Me at my umpteenth number of Hennessy Apple! πŸ˜› πŸ˜›

Renowned local DJ, Eva T dropped the bass for us with great mash-ups and remixes of epic EDM tracks

Chilling by Hennessy's circle wall which proudly displayed all the new bottles & new package designs!

So Lionel tried to photobomb me but I caught him in time.

Still, can't help but to publish this photo though. It's kinda funny! πŸ˜›

We posed and had so much camlovin' at the one-of-a-kind Hennessy 360 camera!

Props were given, theboyf & I chose the electric guitar and as many new Hennessy botles we could grab

We saw ourselves at the LCD television display!

There were also interactive games for guests to entertain themselves – if they weren't entertained enough

But just my two cents : seriously, how can anyone ever be bored at a party like this? πŸ˜›

Mad love for fluffy red pillows strewn all over the lounge sofas!

Bring it on! πŸ˜€ I had tremendous amount of fun and we were only halfway

More photos of my friends & I having a ball of a time at the Hennessy VSOP new bottle launch party!

The music of the night was spun by not one… but TWO DJs!

This was the next DJ that brought the house down with lots of electro, house & dubstep for us :D

Keep it going down!

By the end of the night, I think I was a wee bit out

Some instant photos I tweeted whilst at the party

I managed to sober up in time before the party ended.

Drink responsibly! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

With buddy Ash at the photowall just as the party ended

Taking my last shot with an artistic piece of King George IV

It was you, who begun the works of the finest cognac ever!

The evening ended in full swing, just as it did when it begun

Warmest words of congratulations again to Hennessy for a successful launch of their more modern & futuristic 21st century new bottle & packaging design!

Check out Hennessy Malaysia's Facebook page here and show 'em some love!

Sum 41 LIVE in Malaysia 2012! A special Rockaway Showcase: Screaming Bloody Murder tour makes a stop at KL Live on 14th April 2012

May 16, 2012 by thejessicat

It was the day where punk rockers, who grew up in the 90s could relish with hardcore joy.

It was the day where 2000+ fans queued all evening and gathered with one sole motivation.

14th April 2012. It was the day where Sum 41 rocked our Malaysian stage!

Sum 41 LIVE in Malaysia 2012

Yes. I am certainly one of those punk rockers at heart.

My teenage years were the most significant memories of my punk rocker demeanor.

Sum 41 was a band that I remember rocking out to – on my own – within the confines of my bedroom

And now here I am at the upper deck of KL Live watching my teenage idols perform LIVE

Remember I ran a Sum 41 contest here? Well, I'd like to congratulate the 3 winners of my contest again!

Hope ya'll enjoyed the concert as much as I did πŸ™‚

Bumped into one of my winners for the Sum 41 contest.

Congrats Melissa! πŸ™‚

My lovely assistant for the day – buddy Pamela

8PM | Bunkface kick-started the party as one of  the opening acts of the night.

They sang 4 songs altogether.

Bunkface on stage!

Rocking out with their guitars!

Playing 'Extravaganza'!

And 'Silly Willy'!

Those two are my favorite songs from them πŸ˜€ Too bad they didn't play 'Through My Window'!

I loved that song heaps!

8.30PM | One Buck Short took to the stage πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

They sang '10:04'. Hurrah! I remember singing to it last year in my car all the time when it played on radio.

Don't wake me up! This is our love song!

t

Rahul, lead guitarist of OBS! πŸ˜€

He was amazing and definitely a man of talent

They performed a slow rendition of  'Puppy Love' as well

What I found really impressive was their cover of Katy Perry's 'Last Friday Night'.

It was such a brilliant metal version, complete will all the growls

OBS introduced a violinist who played LIVE! It was a terrific accompaniment to their songs

10PM | No sign of Sum 41 just yet. We had been waiting for an hour!

People were starting to get a tad restless after the long wait but there was still merriment in the crowd.

Pam and I camwhored our boredom away!

What I found really amusing was the way people find such delirious ways to entertain themselves!

The audience from the upper tier started throwing free drinks to the audience below.

While everyone else started to freeze and sing our national anthem, 'Negaraku' and bursting out into random sing-a-long songs.

10.30PM | Finally! Sum 41 broke the frustration with a sudden grand entrance

All the dissatisfaction and rage immediately transformed into high levels of energy from the crowd!

Stealing the show with their Screaming Bloody Murder tour with 'Screaming Bloody Murder'!

Lemme introduce you to the band members of Sum 41!

Lead singer & guitarist Deryck Whibley!

Bass guitarist and backing vocalist Jason McCaslin!

Lead guitarist & backing vocalist Tom Thacker!

Drummer Steve Jocz!

Over 2000 fans queued up as early as the afternoon began! Talk about some die hard fans here.

And hours before Sum 41 rocked the stage, the entire KL Live was packed with crazy punk rockers coming from all over Malaysia and even foreigners who made their way here to watch them live!

Left side of the stage!

Right side of the stage!

When Sum 41 began playing their signature songs from the earlier albums, both the upper tier and lower tier were roaring with people all ready to rumble!

I had my fair share of yelling (singing) along to my fave songs

Derryck and Jason giving the crowd one they'll never forget

They continued with 'Reason to Believe' and brought the house down with 'Hell Song'!

The crowd began to crowd-surf amongst each other.

There's a video at the end of this post! We managed to capture a guy surfing away πŸ˜€

Throughout 'Hell Song' , Derryck began cherry-picking people from the crowd

Picking out another one!

Bet it was hard to choose; everyone would kill to join Sum 41 onstage!

The crowd was yelling, screaming and jumping as much as they can to be THE CHOSEN ONE πŸ˜€

Just keep choosing and bringing 'em people to your stage, Derryck!

He brought up not one but FOUR people up on stage! Saw some of them giving Derryck a big hug.

Everyone got real jelly when they saw that and went 'HEYYYY!!!!' but it soon changed into an 'AWWWWW!'

Turning the mic towards the crowd so we can sing the bridge for him!

NOW I'M IN OVER MY HEAD!

FOR SOMETHING I SAID!

COMPLETELY MISREAD!

I'M BETTER OFF DEAD!

The crowd got into the zone and began to whirl up a massive circle pit in the mosh!

Their next song on tonight's playlist was 'We're All To Blame'

Performing a beautiful rendition of 'Walking Disaster'

I must say, eventhough I haven't been catching up or keeping myself up to date with the latest songs off their latest album Screaming Bloody Murder, I truly enjoyed their newer numbers.

Sum 41's new release of tracks felt darker, deeper, less punk-rock – routing slightly to the metal rock genre

Sum 41 performing 'Time for You to Go'

The next two songs were 'In Too Deep' and 'Motivation'. Boy, I swore I could feel the reverberation throughout the whole upper deck!

Imagine 2000 people, upper and lower tier, jumping and headbanging at the same time.

We be causing our own tremor in KL Live!

Sum 41 letting Steve Jocz have his moment!

He definitely stole the limelight throughout his drum solo!

The continued their performance with 'Sick of Everyone', a number off their latest album as well.

Despite it being one of their newer songs, die-hard fans knew all the lyrics by heart.

Now that was impressive… and so much undying love for Sum 41!

ROAARRRR WHO WANTS SOME HEAVY METAL!!!?

To our surprise, Sum 41 gave us a few short performance-covers of some really popular metal songs.

They covered songs by Ozzy Osbourne, Iron Maiden, Metallica and a few others.

After 'Underclass Hero', another twist was in store for us.

Derryck then passed the mic to Tom and he gave us a stellar guitar solo and vocal performance!

Woooootwoooooot!

Tom's guitar solo

Derryck's guitar solo

T'was great seeing how all the band members of Sum 41 were so cooperative and supportive of one another onstage.

Such wonderful showmanship! Their transitions and performances jived seamlessly

Jason and Derryck began picking out more people from the crowd to join them onstage

"I choose you!"

Performing 'Still Waiting' off their 2nd studio album Does This Look Infected?

SO AM I, STILL WAITING?

FOR THIS LOVE TO STOP HATING?

'Still Waiting' was another one of my favorite Sum 41 songs and I enjoyed headbanging and yelling throughout the song.

It was mayhem! Another circle pit started in the mosh again and more crowd-surfing soon ensued :D

It was so insane till a point where security had to come and keep things back to an orderly manner LOL

Don't want anybody to get hurt, ey? πŸ™‚

Keep moshing but be safe, fellow punk rockers!

(encore)

After that performance was over, the crowd was already soaked with perspiration and brimming with their own heat.

The temperature rose and many people were seen pouring bottles of water over themselves.

Some even splashed their water on Derryck!

Oh you wanna play huh?

Let the games begin!

WATERFIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Derryck then grabbed his waterbottle off stage and splashed it towards the audience in retaliation

Derryck was soon outnumbered. The waterfight just kept going! πŸ˜€

Sum 41 proceeded to perform their final song of the night, 'Fat Lip'.

For those of you who have been listening to them back in the day, you would know that 'Fat Lip' was the very first single released off their very first album, All Killer No Filler, back in 2001.

Geez, how time flies!

The final twist of the night : drummer Steve Jocz takes the centerstage and wows the crowd on the mic!

There you have it, the boys of Sum 41!

This was the first time in all the years of my covering gigs/concerts that the drummer actually got down

from his drumset to steal the show with the microphone instead

It was impressive no doubt!

Sum 41 then threw out guitar picks and drumsticks to the crowd.

Everyone flocked to wherever those goodies were being thrown to! Now, I wish I was at the mosh too πŸ˜›

They gave us a bow after their stunning two-hour performance

Although it was a pity that they did not perform 'Pieces', which was a crowd-favorite (I could hear people chanting Pieces! Pieces! Pieces! as early as 10PM!), we enjoyed their live performance and all that wait to see them perform in the flesh right in front of our eyes proved to be worthwhile.

Only a true fan would wait for hours (rain or shine)and still support a band to the end and back.

Here's the video of the night

Thanks to Pam for the footages & thanks to Kon for helping me edit them!

WATCH EEEEEEEEEEEEET πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

You've made these two girls very happy and proud of the music we grew up with

I'm sure the entire crowd of 2000 exuberant fans can vouch for what I said

Freddy Mercury approves πŸ˜›

Sum 41 made us, punk-rockers so proud tonight!

We wish you all the best for the remaining stops of your Screaming Bloody Murder tour

A major shout-out to Rahul of One Buck Short and Livescape Asia and for putting together this amazing one-night-only show for us and making it happen!  I had a terrific time, thank you!

Tonight's special Rockaway showcase was indeed, brilliant.

Can't wait for the Rockaway Fest this year!
