Last week, I managed to catch Fast & Furious 6 with my buddies.
I could remember munching on popcorn furiously during death-defying scenes and laughing myself silly at witty, snark remarks often made. Here are my thoughts on the movie that I thought I'd share.
Cast-wise, I was stoked to watch Vin Diesel and Dwane Johnson a.k.a The Rock perform together.
Heck, I’ve been a fan of these two manly studs for as long as I can remember!
I liked how Diesel’s overtly masculine character was balanced by several romatically-inclined and “touching” love scenes with his female co-star – to which I must admit, had a body to die for. Gal Gadot who plays Giselle was such a pretty face that I wondered what a picture-perfect, delicate lass like her was doing in this rough and tough action-packed movie.
Oh and… Ludacris was cast as well!
The villains were pretty bad-ass. Luke Evans who plays Shaw was the epitome of it all.
Heist-gang leader, Shaw
Diesel with Michelle Rodriguez who plays Letty
Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock
Politically? Fast 6 has got itself covered.
Typically, the Whites dominated the movie followed by an almost-equal balance of Asians, Latinos and Africans.
Inter-racial romatic relationships spawned in this instalment as well.
Filming locations were also superb!
We were taken on a visual adventure to Canary Islands, Spain, London, Scotland, Hong Kong, Los Angeles and more. I had fun trying to identify which country they were moving here and there too.
The London Bridge in the background
The verdict?
Just like its prequels and sequels, Fast and Furious 6 was superbly action-packed with explosive, fighting, speeding and nail-biting scenes. Think planes on fire, race-cars catapulting over road dividers & bridges, army tanks speeding down the highway crushing oncoming vehicles to nothing but metal scrap, firing of bullet-to-the-chest shots, dangling from speeding cars and more.
Most of the scenes will leave you holding my breath and gripping the edge of your seat.
Despite boasting such heart-stopping scenes, this movie had its fair share of poignant and rib-tickling parts to dissolve the adrenalin rush it shot upon us.
There were several touching, moral lessons revolving around themes of family, friendship, loyalty and teamwork embedded into the storyline. Fast and Furious 6 also delivered excellent punch-lines and funny one-liners so frequently; bound to leave one shedding tears of laughter for.
If you’re one to fancy girls oozing with sexiness (legit, brutal girl fights included!), guns and fast cars, this might be just the movie for you. However, be prepared to leave your logic outside the cinema hall as a couple of plot holes and scenes hardly made any sense, neither were they scientifically nor logically accurate.
LOLOLOLOL
Before I go, here's the trailer get your speed on if you haven't watched it!
Like it? I watched the trailer four times before watching the actual movie LOL
I was THAT excited for the show.
Don't forget to catch the movie in cinemas! You'll love it just as much as I do
Despite being a nail art enthusiast, I am hardly the type of girl who would book herself a nail spa or manicure-pedicure session.
Why? You ask. Perhaps I prefer or am pretty used to doing it for myself, on my own, all this while?
But guess what? My visit to Amante changed my mind entirely.
My lovely french manicure with a pink twist courtesy of Amante Nail Spa & Body Care
TRIVIACan you believe that I used up my pocket money (meant for buying food in school) to buy myself a fashion magazine when I was only a kid of fourteen just learn how to do a DIY manicure-pedicure? I then forked up more pocket money to buy myself the kit and little tools needed for a home nail spa.
Yeah so that’s where all my money went. Sorry, mom!
Thanks to the lovely team behind Amante, I was invited to try out their Nailtek Spa Manicure and Pedicure session.
They were celebrating friendship that month itself. So I brought along bestieJoyce to enjoy this session with me!
I picked their Bangsar outlet as it was the nearest for both bestieJoyce and I
Walked up to the 1st floor where Amante’s outlet was located
The moment I entered Amante, I was wowed by the warm and subdued concept of its premises.
A Victorian interior design, mahogany flooring and ornaments such as chandeliers, floral armchairs, vased flowers and velvet footstools were in sight.
P/S The balloons and the strings were from the party Amante threw the day before.
We arrived slightly late due to the Sunday traffic jams but wasted no time in choosing the colours we wanted for our nails.
There was a wide array of colours by O.P.I available but we bolted to the reds and pink hues.
After checking out all the palettes available, we decided on what suited us best!
I took my pick
The friendly staff of Amante then ushered us to the nail spa room.
It was spacious, warm and cosy.
We then took a seat on the giant armchairs and propped up our legs in sheer comfort.
Let’s begin with mine first, shall we?
Hello! This is Jessicat reporting to you from Amante.
STEP 1: Aromatic Salt Scrub
The first thing they did was to rub an aromatic salt scrub all over my hands and lower arms.
This aimed to remove all dead skin – leaving it soft and smooth.
STEP 2: Lotion
She applied a generous amount of lotion and began to massage my arms,
wrist, fingers, palm and the back of my palm so well!
This is to ensure all areas and parts of your hands are not spared from the moisturizing and calming lotion
STEP 3: Cling Wrap
My arms were then wrapped with cling wrap all the way to my fingers!
This is to lock in the moisure and the benefits of the hand lotion that she applied earlier
STEP 4: 15-minute Heat
My hands were inserted into two big warming mittens radiating with electric heat to allow better absoption of the lotion
I could feel that my palms were sweating inside! It was like a sauna – only for my hands!
BestieJoyce with her pampered feet (more about that shortly) and I (with my robotic hands)
STEP 5: Nailtek Anti-Wrinkle Lotion/Mermaid Mask
A cooling, creamy gel-like and bluish-green mask was applied onto the back of my hands
She carefully rubbed it in circular motions.
And peeled it off after it solidified into one sheet
This mask guarantees wrinkle-lifting effects! She showed me a before and after of my supple right vs my wrinkly left.
It was proven true. I was amazed!
My left hand’s turn!
By this time, she had already begun giving the fingernails my left hand a manicure as we were waiting for my right hand’s mask to dry.
Let’s get on with STEP 6: Manicure now!
After spraying softener and anti-bacterial liquid, she began clipping my
excess/hardened cuticles and pushing the rest of the cuticles in
She also got rid of any dirt trapped beneath my nails before
filing my nails down to a very neat squarish-oval shape
With the colour of my choice, she applied two coats of O.P.I’s Peru-B-Ruby nail polish onto my nails.
I observed the way she painted my nails. So meticulously smooth and quick.
Hey, I could take a lesson or two from her!
Empty nails vs pretty nails! And we’re not even halfway done yet
Applying it onto my right fingernails now
I opted for a French Manicure but I honestly dislike typical French manicures bearing a boring, nude colour which didn’t at all jive with my gregarious personality. So I asked if I could have a dark pink base instead of beige.
To my joy, she said it would be no problem!
Here we go!
She applied the white tips so neatly and swiftly that it was so interesting to watch her do it!
She then wrapped up the entire session with coatings of cuticle oil for better nail heath
Thanks Amante!
Now, let’s take a look at what bestieJoyce was occupied with the entire time I was experiencing my manicure.
She was experiencing the Nailtek Spa Pedicure session.
Hi! This was my view of bestieJoyce from my armchair beside hers
The pedicure procedures done on her feet were similar to the ones done on my hands during my manicure.
But here are the photos anyway! For the photos taken from Joyce’s angle, respective photo credits to her
I spotted her feet being soaked in lukewarm water in the very beginning and scrubbed with the
same aromatic salt scrub for dead skin and callus to be loosened and washed off
The next step, just like mine was to massage the lotion onto her skin
It was also wrapped with clingwrap and later heated up with electric warming booties
When it was all over, it was time for the manicure
Clipping, pushing in the cuticles and filing them to the desired toenail shape
It was time to paint her toenails!
She chose O.P.I’s Quarter of a Cent-cherry
A happy Joyce with to-be pretty toenails once its all done and shiny!
All done and cuticle oil was applied! Leaving it to dry now
Our colours are almost similar but hers had a more metallic shine to it
I loved my dark pink French manicure so much!
Wished it could stay like this forever. Maybe I will return for a gel manicure for a longer-lasting one?
Two very contented girls. Thanks for a wonderful Nail Spa experience, Amante!
We headed off for lunch nearby soon after our session to continue our girly day out
We’re darn busy people. But we do make time to meet up! I’ll be seeing her again for dinner tonight
At night whilst at dinner with theboyf Konzy, I couldn’t help but to vaingloriously admire and show off my lovely nails
Hey, it isn’t everyday I walk out of the house with beautifully done nails, right?

If you ask me, this year flew by really swiftly. Before I knew it, we're already almost halfway into the year 2013.
Where did all the time go?
Hmmm… maybe getting starting my new job made me feel like time had fleeted by so fast.
Cold days at work. When the advertising industry debilitates me whole by the end of the day, all I can do is to curl up with my fave mug of hot chocolate
As keeping busy takes up most of my time, my days aren't as dreary and long as it would probably feel if I were to be jobless or bored at home with absolutely nothing to do. To be honest, I do miss being bored sometimes.
I could only wish for more hours in my day.
My life is so fast-paced, especially this year, that I don't even have the time to feel bored anymore!
Ahhh, wishful thinking at best.
Anyway, this week was relatively mundane with a sprinkle of colour towards the weekend. Okay, recap!
Daily trainings and awesome post-workout meals.
It was upper body: chest, shoulders, back and arm day
Made organic fusilli pasta bake with honey glazed eggplant, carrots & tomato,
tossed with grapeseed oil, basil and cottage cheese.
Rolled wholegrain oats with soy milk, banana slices and golden kiwi
Organic brown rice with chicken chunks, button mushrooms & flax seeds,
steamed in spring onion, garlic-ginger-onion-herb paste made from scratch!
Tonight's outfit of the day.
Was invited to Longchamp Paris' Exclusive Preview of their Fall/Winter collection.
Randomly, just randomly, I'm vaguely aware of how my sense of dressing has mellowed so much. Ugh.
Although sexy tops, tight skirts, mini dresses and belly bearing tops still appeal to me, I noticed a paradigm shift in my taste in clothing as of late – probably since the beginning of the year. I have to admit, this "change" scares me a little.
I think this means I'm succumbing to the ravages of time and age. OH NO.
Aku rase aku sekarang nih dah makin tua. Jadi, tidak hairanlah apabila aku semakin berpaling kepada cara berpakaian yang lebih klasik ataupun sedikit sebanyak konservatif, jika berbanding dengan fesyen yang biasanya aku dilihat memakai.
Nowadays, classy high-cut tops, demure outfits, long dresses, classic, elegant pieces and the corporate OL (office lady) look strikes my fancy. Umm. really Jess, since when?
What happened to that wild, partygirl look you often portray?
Date night out in the city. We chose El Cerdo KL Spanish Restaurant, Changkat Bukit Bintang
We had tapas. Gambas Al AjilloCalamares (above) and A La Plancha (below)
Loved its freshness and mild but delightful flavours!
We also met up with some friends for a bit of Wednesday night partying
One person is missing from the picture! I guess I'll have to photoshop bestiePam's head in LOL
Bumped into an old friend, Anu, from Penang!
We were squash players back in high school
Excuse my vanity. I don't usually have the time to doll up
Take two.
I have a new addition to my arsenal of gadgets now. Say hello to my new sexy white thing.
The SAMSUNG Galaxy Camera
Fancy some cat pictures for the start of the week?
What you are about to see is my furkid, Chivas, in compromising positions
The weekends finally loomed closer; about time it did!
Friday night saw me packing my bags and heading up to Ipoh to spend some time with the family for the weekend.
We had a sumptous family feast. Japanese dinner at
Zento Sushi @ Festival Walk which left us full to the brim and beyond satisfied.

Full blog feature/review coming soon!
Being away for the weekend didn't deter me from carrying out my routines.
Here's a makeshift circuit I did at the porch of my home.
Oh, this Ipoh trip marked my first time boarding the Electric Train Service (ETS) from KL Sentral Railway Station.
I came to a conclusion that I didn't want to drive two hours to Ipoh and another two hours back. I just can't be bothered, really.
The train ride was incredibly smooth and gave me a pleasant experience!
It was punctual – arriving on the dot!
The carriages/coaches were clean, spacious, comfortable and had on-board entertainment (hurray for Mr. Bean!) to boot.
Instead of spending a taxing two hours squinting into the distance when I drive at night and speeding (being me, admittedly) down the highway at 140km/h, all I had to do was to get to the railway station, board the train, pop up my laptop and do my work or leisure for the entire two hours.
Arriving with zero stress.
Sounds like a much better option, no doubt!
Thumbs up to Malaysian public transportation!
Architecture-wise, I was pretty impressed by how the railway station looked.
Fringing the railway tracks were high-rise horseshoe and orgee arches plastered in white. It had this British heritage look and feel to it.
You know the concept of crisp-looking whitewashed buildings of moorish designs, pairs of columned porches, symmetrical windows flanking the main, arched entrances?
Yeah the whole train station boasted that entire notion; and I loved it.
It felt as though I was stepping out of the Hogwarts Express train into London's King's Cross railway station.
Before I got too carried away in my reverie, I stopped myself from running into the wall in hopes of traversing into a secret, hidden platform to Hogwarts HAHAHA.
This photo does no justice to the deep vermillion, purple and crimson hues that illuminated the evening sky
Theboyf and I decided to pig out and grab some Mexican cuisine for dinner upon arriving KL.
Actually, it was his idea. We were starving by the time we arrived the city.
Chilis Grill & Bar Restaurant, Bangsar Shopping Centre

The Chicken Club Tacos were superb!
Wrapped inside the tacos were grilled mesquite chicken breast, ancho-chile ranch dressing, diced tomatoes, mixed cheeses and lettuce served with chopped beef bacon and black beans.
Eating it left me wanting more. It came so juicy, the chicken was tender and it was a perfect burst of Tex-Mex flavour with every bite.
We also tried their new starter, the Spinach Queso.
Those tostada chips were warm and crisp, to be dipped into a spinach-cheese dip and house-made salsa. Just heavenly!
So that's a wrap! Here's to hoping your weekend was just as eventful as mine.
Have a good seven days ahead
I'm going to leave you with a song that's been stuck in my head for as long as ever. Sharing is caring
Much love,
Jessicat

The Sunday Times is a weekly series; published every Sunday night to recap the highlights of my week, capture what piques my interest and to briefly highlight my recommendations for to-go and to-eat places!
Here’s a short announcement that I’d like to share.
I was recently invited to attend the LIVE LIFE LARGE LG Blogger event this Saturday morning at The Curve to check out LG's latest and coolest invention yet!
This is held in conjunction with LG’s roadshow to promote the world’s first 84-inch Ultra High Definition 3 Dimensional TV.
Wait, what? Not just the regular Full HD that we all know but ULTRA HD? And… 3-DIMENSIONAL as well? Whoa. Technology's certainly soaring in this television right here.
From the looks of it, I reckon the new LG Ultra HD TV has the technology and looks to put all televisions to shame.
What I look forward to the most is of course, the vivid and crisp visual display it is capable of producing.
With a finer resolution (4X higher than existing Full HD TVs!), I foresee my series and movies to be coming to life with the loud, built-in speaker system as well as ultra-details and ultra-clarity from its 84” gigantic screen.
Can't imagine what It'll be like watching from FOUR SCREENS conjoined!
Gee whiz! And here I thought a 42” TV was as big as televisions can get!
I can’t wait to get up close and personal with LG’s impressive 84 inch HD 3D TV and witness its wonders with my very own eyes.
Imagine watching National Geographic on this new TV. Whoa!
I can only imagine how crystal clear and sharp those animals and nature will look on its display.
Looks like I’m all geared up for a cinematic experience this Saturday already!
Pretty excited, as there will be fun activities, games and prizes by LG to be won.
I could get lost in my television
By the way, everyone is invited to the 3-day roadshow. Yes, it is open to the public!
What? LG Ultra HD 3D TV Roadshow
Where? Piazza @ The Curve
(That open air space beside the fountain in between The Curve & E@Curve)
When? 7-9th June 2013 (10am-10pm)
So drop by this weekend to check out and admire LG’s magnificent, new 84” Ultra HD TV for yourselves… especially if you’re thinking of getting a new telly for your crib or replacing your ratty old black box of a television.
See you there!

That Saturday night was a series of back-to-back partying for me.
After blogging about this event, I figured that I'd publish the sequel to the previous post I wrote on the Heineken Kick-Off to Ibiza party today.
I made my way to Mines Wellness Hotel KL in Seri Kembangan in anticipation for a night of good food, good drinks, good company and to watch 30 contestants battle it out to win themselves an all-expense paid trip and VIP experience to watch the screening of UEFA Champions League (UCL) Finale.
Hello from the beach!
I arrived a little after 7pm at the hotel. It was my first time at Mines Resort City!
Aku tidak pernah berkunjung ke kawasan ini sebelum tu! Jadi, malam itu bagai penjelajahan baru untuk aku!
The registration booth
Arriving Mines Wellness Hotel lobby. Now, where's the party?
The drinks bar
To get to the beach, I had to enter a cave-like passage way
There was so much excitement by the seaside and adrenalin was on the high!
A myriad of activities were ongoing the moment I arrived, coupled with quizzes, hunts and a mind-boggling Question & Answer session for the participants to outdo themselves for a spot in the Top-3! 30 of them has come this far to the finals, and today's challenge was the only barricade to their victory.
If you hadn't already guessed from the title yet, they be watching the UCL in VIP-style at…
No where else but the heavily celebrated party capital of the world – Ibiza, Spain
Imagine that! What I'd give to be flown VIP-style to the party central of my dreams!
With a combination of intelligence, imagination and inventiveness, three Malaysians emerged as winners.
They are: Yeoh Keng Meng, Lim Sze Hue and Joel Hoshea Munjan
Congratulations to the three of you! You deserved it.
Beer showers anyone?
They will be joining more than 200 Heineken fans from around the world in an ultra-luxurious VIP experience at the UCL Final viewing event in Ibiza — which will see the best of football and music culminating in one spectacular event.
Wish I could be there too!
Have a great time in Ibiza, you guys!
After the announcement of winners, dinner was served.
We were treated to a generous buffet of both local and continental delights spread across long tables.
Let's eat!
I remember enjoying a delightful array of food for dinner.
From seafood spaghetti, roast lamb, & chicken to fish, noodles, crabs & ice-cream, they had it all.
There was even a satay corner where beef and chicken satay were made fresh off the grill for us!
For the sweet-tooth in all of us! My favorite was the cheesecake
Buddies Casey, Nath and I getting our foodies on
Spotted an awesome chillout spot made of wooden crates! How ingenious.
Needless to say, that was where I spent the rest of my night with Heineken!
The partyheat was steadily rising as the night progressed
Hurrah! More of my buddies arrived! Don, Yuki and I
With my gorgeous girls Zana, Karmun and Yuki
Yuki and I with our Heinekens
Boooooo!
Hailing from Penang and now residing in KL – hear us hollllaaa for Heineken!
The party was thrown on a much smaller scale this time but I had a good time partying with my mates.
And of course, indulging in several helpings of drinks, cheesecakes and satays.
Guilty as charged! But hey, they were too good to pass…
Went home with some limited edition merchandize as well.
Thanks for the gifts, Heineken!
Winners Keng Meng, Sze Hue and Joel will set sail this month for the Heineken Ibiza Final and will experience the best of football and music in the world’s party and nightlife capital – Ibiza, Spain.
Is there space left in any of your luggage to slip me in? Genuine question. Haha!
Congratulations once again!
Have fun on your ultra-luxurious VIP experience at the UCL final screening in Ibiza
Thank you, Heineken Malaysia and the team for a great night
More good times ahead!
