It’s 4AM here, Malaysian local time and yes, I’m not asleep. But well, neither are you! Teehee.
As at 30th November today, I figured it was finally a time where I can publish this piece I wrote 6 months ago. Yup. Believe it or not, I penned this piece on the 13th of May but never got round to publishing it.
Why? I honestly don’t know.
It could be a myriad of things, feelings and thoughts. A little ounce of doubt, some fear, a few drops of denial and a hint of bashfulness.
But now, I realize one’s reticence can sometimes be the only barricade to what your heart tells you to.
So here’s a personal piece that finally sees the light of day, tonight.
WHAT IF…?
What if the sun doesn’t go down, To give way to the moon? What if circuses neither had a clown, Nor fire-breathers to make us swoon?
What if lightning never strikes, And skies never echo a thunder? Would you then scale a mountain for hikes, Or venture its rocky plateaus over yonder?
What if we never spoke nor exchanged a word, Do you think a friendship would ever be conjured? What if we never got acquainted that night, Would you still remember me come the morning light?
What if I knew much earlier, That something felt rather peculiar? What if we didn’t notice the chemistry, Would you think this would be a mystery?
What if questions always had its answers, Would slaves still bow to their masters?
What if you waited a little longer, Would this thought still ever linger? What if my steps was a little faster, Would our night have ended a little later?
What if your owl got to deliver that message, Ever thought we’d be walking down a different passage? What if I came down to take that seat, What do you think would happen when we meet?
What if caves were never hollow, And loud voices could never echo?
What if I knew I would see you again, Would my memories of you still remain? What if we got to bid a proper farewell, What would time and distance be able to spell?
What if I hadn’t left as early as I did, Would this still feel as unfinished and incomplete? What if we had just one more sunrise and sunset, Would this be something I’ll eventually forget?
What if birds never sang their song, Would silence ever feel this long? What if bees never flew to pollen, And thoughts had always remain unspoken?
What if dewdrops and spring arrived in advance, Would you run with me to the meadows and dance? What if the end is near or threatens to be early, Would you stay with me and to listen to my story?
And the rest is still unwritten.
But I’m thankful for the starlight that shot through my sky.
Finally find / You and I collide.
Never, ever fight how you feel, for the force is not something you should ever battle with.
Maybe I should stop being such an idealist and a thinker who sees things through rose-tinted glasses. But I relented, at last… and trust me, succumbing to this was the sweetest glory I’ve ever tasted. Because finding out that this entire confession was reciprocated makes it all the more beautiful.
Today, I let the sun illuminate the words that I could not find the courage to unveil.
Release your inhibitions; feel the rain on your skin.
No one else can feel it for you; only you can let it in.
Goodnight, dear fellow night-owl readers of mine. Now, get some shut-eye and go to sleep!
It was a rainy Thursday night when I adjourned to a gorgeous enclave in Ara Damansara, aptly called Oasis. The occasion was… Secret Recipe’s Sweet 16th X WeChat party!
Ready for some delectable treats?
Like my new moustache? 😀
The party was an excellent kick-start for its latest promotion!
See the glorious cakes beckoning you? You know you want them.
Now, you can get two for the price of one! 😀
The view from Secret Recipe, Oasis’s top floor balcony.
How gorgeous is the vicinity?! I could get used to this.
Another scene of the water feature and surroundings.
A very pretty place for a date with your perfect one, overlooking an even more perfect view.
My seat on the upper deck throughout the night.
I didn’t want to budge from as I was enjoying the breeze and the buzzing outdoors from way up here!
Okay, enough gushing over the view at Oasis’ Secret Recipe. So let’s begin the night, yes?
Arriving punctually at 8PM – the traffic was surprisingly smooth!
In fact, I arrived at 7.45PM. Woots!
Walked up the staircase of the pretty garden-themed restaurant
Upstairs!
It took a while for the rest of the guests to come, but I was well entertaining myself with the galore of WeChat plushes strewn everywhere around Secret Recipe, snapping selfies with my bloggerbuddies and catching up.
So, it’s all good! I didn’t mind waiting. Traffic jams from different parts of the city can be tiresome. Tell me about it!
Mini WeChat plushies! I even brought them home for myself.
But what really caught my eye were these enormous WeChat plushies.
I already have the medium sized one in my car; can’t possibly bring this home too!
Selfietime with buddy Yeeing.
Group photo with fellow blogger girlfriends.
Selfietime (and a photobomb by Ryan) with buddyAshley
There was so much merriment and mingling in the building!
Before we knew it, it was time to be treated with Secret Recipe’s mouthwatering delicacies. Brownies for me, please?
I think they heard me – Chocolate Brownies with Cheese!
Time to dig in. This is my favorite out of the rest of the cakes! Muahaha.
Always loved Secret Recipe cakes; I even grew up with one directly opposite my house!
I remember whenever it was mom or dad’s birthday, I’d sneak to Secret Recipe and buy them their favorite slice when I was in high school. I do have a few personal favorites, being the White Dark Chocolate Cheesecake (I can’t repeat this enough!)
Bought an entire whole cake of that for my previous birthday celebrations.
Another one I absolutely cannot resist is their Espresso Cheesecake.
So you can probably imagine what music this brought to my ears upon hearing that all
WeChat users get a second slice for free upon buying the first slice of cake.
Which one would you pick? Too spoiled for choice, eh?
With the bosses of WeChat and Secret Recipe – flanked by models of the day!
So what’s the fine print, you ask?
Just be a WeChat user (duh!) and follow Secret Recipe at – SecretRecipeMY – on WeChat to receive your ‘BUY 1 GET 1 FREE’ coupon.
Promo ends this 30th November. Final chance to go get your cakes before the end of this week!
Feel free to check out my review of a cafe called Nooks that serves delicious cakes and meals, right here.
Whaddup! Hope the week has been fantastic for you!
Hellloo!
For me, well… I’m currently rubbing the giant purple bruise on my shin, stretching my neck, and fidgeting uncomfortably on my seat. I guess that’s the kindest effect I’ve ever gotten after what was undeniably an amazing rave party.
One can only expect such discomfort after a long night of insane raving!
Yours truly – before I slipped and fell down hard due to the rain LOL.
That certainly didn’t wipe my wide smile away though!
Many thanks to Wicked Entertainment, I got to watch the incredible EDM prodigy, Zedd as well as Axwell, our EDM kings of the night, in VIP style!
Full blog coverage about this soon! But for now, here are two shots off my Instagram posted live from Wicked Festival 2013.
Raving to Zedd!
Needing to recharge in the comfort of my home after a six long hours of hardcore rave partying, I spent the next day in bed (after running a few errands, of course).
I think I’ve caught the flu – not surprised, as we were all raving under the rain and the chilly wind.
With my little ball of fur.
And then, I decided to stop vegetating in bed all day as the OCD neat freak in me couldn’t stand the mere sight of my room being in such a windswept condition.
Maklumlah, jika tiada ruang kosong lagi untuk mencampak barangku, kurasa, sudah tiba masanya untuk mengemaskan bilik, kan? Haha.
My bedroom is usually very spick-and-span, neat and tidy.
But oddly enough, when you shut an eye to a pile of mess for one second, more mess just builds mountains around it before you can say – WHAT IS THIS DOING HERE??
BEFORE
AFTER
Satisfied, I made myself an omelette and jumped back into bed
to continue where I left off on The Big Bang Theory
For some reason, I seem to be wearing my glasses a whole lot more now.
I used to be a little shy of how I looked bespectacled – thinking that it would somehow make me look like an obvious geek or expose the nerd in me.
But I no longer am afraid to wear my glasses in public anymore!
All because… well a little bird said I look cute in it. Heh.
Embracing my inner geek! YAY
Received a lovely surprise from Tiger Malaysia.
Full blog post on this, soon!
I’ve been rather distracted lately… and busy with other things, which resulted in a lot less cooking and working out in the gym.
Guilty as charged. But for some of the readers who are here for the clean eating meals, here are two I managed to whip up this week.
Black Pepper Norwegian Smoked Salmon Omega Egg Omelette!
Roasted Chicken Breast with cajun spices & chili flakes with a side of blanched carrots and spinach!
Okay, I didn’t make this but here’s what I had for breakfast one morning when I was there.
Bacon! (Halal, of course)
Check out a part the Superior hotel room of the Royale Bintang Damansara!
What makes me happier than spending time with my family?
Spending time with my family…. AT THE ICE CREAM STORE!
A shot of eternal peace.
Just a thought. I’ve always felt a certain sense of serenity within the confinements of a graveyard.
While most people would be afraid to approach tombstones or urns full of ashes, I oddly derive tranquillity from it. There’s just something about graveyards and their quiet nature – wispy, fallen leaves breaking into the surface of the otherwise still lake, and the cold, crisp air that cloaks the atmosphere and surrounds you the moment you enter.
It’s a rush… of life after death.
OKAY! I SHALL STOP HERE LEST YOU ACCUSE ME OF BEING SECRETLY PSYCHOPATHIC LOL.
Let’s talk about happier things on a Sunday night, shall we?
My baby ball of fur, Chivas!
A souvenir from my colleague who just returned from Beijing, China!
Too adorable.
Tuesday saw me warping from an average Plain Jane into a… not-so plain Jane scheduled to attend an event. It was pretty overbearing as I had a long day on Thursday, full of meetings and a back-to-back workload schedule.
And as nightfall descended, no time’s a’wasting!
I got dressed in the car and did my make up while driving. No, I didn’t just say that.
Anggaplah bahawa anda tidak baca ayat di atas, boleh? 😛

So off I went up up up high to Play @ The Roof!
It was another one of Asahi club parties again. Remember this epic one – Club Asahi Miami– I blogged about a few months ago?
Tonight edition featured: Club Asahi Moscow.
Thank you very much Asahi Malaysia and The Roof, for the invitation!
Blog about this soon, okay? Stay tuned.
Another sleepless night comes around again and I only have to depend on my new blood – coffee.
Oh and… this trip to the coffee joint was pretty flattering. Heh. Heh.
Why, thank you!
But one coffee will never be enough… so here’s another for the day.
Life is a drag.
No it is not, at all! It was just the caption I thought was pretty apt for the photo above.
That was a super candid hahaha! I was just resting against a brick wall chilling and yeah, this happened. I thought it looked like a quite an excellent candid, in my natural non self-conscious state so…. here it goes, on the blog!
An afternoon at DOME – one of my favorite to-go places for good food and good coffee.
Saying byebye to BuddySarah as she will be leaving Malaysia soon. Gonna miss you, love!
See you when you are back!
Wednesday night saw me heading to Secret Recipe’s Sweet 16 X WeChat event.
It was such a gorgeous building in Ara Damansara.
On a cold, rainy Friday night… I wound up in Lavender Cafe for a very pretty dinner date.
Probably 1 Utama’s sweetest spot, its very exquisite restaurant, L. Table is hidden deep inside. You’ll see it once you elbow your way past the jostling crowd thronging the bakery up front.
Our table.
Loving the high ceilings and humongous pillars.
Pretty candles amidst the wine collection.
Caesar Salad with Pulled Chicken
Just your usual Caesar salad done perfectly right, not too much nor too little dressing too!
Pappardelle with Duck Stroganoff
The duck chunks were heavenly, when paired with this hearty sauce!
Fritto Misto.
Not a fan of deep fried food but his assortment of lightly battered seafood and onion rings was tasty.
Nama Chocolate Cake
This delightful half-baked chocolate cake was packed with copious amounts of decadent
moist dark chocolate and topped off with strawberries, blueberries and cream. Yum!
Chocolate Caramel Clafoutis *Note: this takes an extra 20 minutes to prepare*
Not sure if I’d already hit my chocolate quota for the day but this warm French bread pudding with
melted bitter chocolate and home-made caramel seemed a little too rich, sweet and overwhelming.
Perhaps I should try it on its own next time.
Geek alert high on coffee with partner-in-crime Putra!
Black VS brown. Our usual.
Boo!
Roaming the city streets of Bukit Bintang at night.
Had a good laugh!
Another black VS brown night at Espressamente ILLY, Pavilion
Oh wait, this time it’s brown VS brown.
Pool tourney! Time to pocket that 8 ball hard 😀
Not many people challenge me in pool… but you sir, are a pro!
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is now in cinemas!
I posted this shot on my Instagram. Nampaknya macam seolah-olah bergaya, kan?
But here’s the not-so-glam equivalent. HAHAHAH.
I look like I have a dire need to pee.
The One and Only Bukhara Briyani at Syed Bistro!
And that’s when I spotted a Najib Razak lookalike!
Looks like this is how he will look if he wasn’t our PM, eh?
Just an average Joe eating at a mamak store like everybody else, sans the bodyguards.
On a random note, two more stickers before I get to collect all 3 of my fave superheroes
from Tesco’s pen-top Marvel collection. Spiderman, Captain America & Ironman.
Sorry, Hulk. I’m just not into you.
WOOOOOOOHOOOO! Now I can’t wait to go to drop by Tesco already.
Is it grocery time, yet? /Makes a mental note
Thursday came around and I was so honoured and happy to be invited to Sheena’s wedding!
It was held at Grand Palace, Pavilion.
With the beautiful blushing bride, Sheena.
It’s my first time at any of the IMBI Palace Group restaurants!
Check out the 6 course wedding dinner spread they have at Grand Palace:
Lobsters!
Eel!
Shark Fin Soup
No, I simply cannot bring myself to consume this.
Heard of how animal cruelty is at its peak in the making of shark fin soup? Google it.
Steamed Grouper Fish!
Abalones!
Roast Piglet
No, I just can’t consume this too. Just look at its… expression of despair 🙁
Sitting beside colleague Joey! No, there wasn’t Starbucks coffee at the wedding, obviously.
This shot was taken before the wedding began! 😀
After bride & groom, Sheena & Raymond’s grand entrance.
With buddies Veron & Chris during the wedding dinner!
Random selfie. Ready for a brand new week ahead? Boy, I sure am!
I’ll end this post tonight with a beautiful song that’s been on my head for months now.
You make me smile like the sun / Fall out bed / Sing like a bird /
Dizzy in my head / Spin like a record / Crazy on a Sunday night /
You make me dance like a fool / Forget how to breathe / Shine like gold / Buzz like a bee/
Just the thought of you can drive me wild / You make me smile /
Dedicated to you.

This Saturday will be the day that I’ve been waiting for!
What else do you think it will be?
Let’s get wicked this weekend!
Hahaha. The organizers sure got themselves some humour there. LOL!
It came with a very sweet letter too. Thanks, Wicked Entertainment!
There had been rumors in the wind and shadows shifting in the dark. Tales of all things wicked, creatures of the night and music coming alive.
Two legendary EDM superheroes from a land faraway will lead hordes of insane electronic music lovers come this Saturday night.
Heed the words of caution as this is not for the faint-hearted. Rumors, they are certainly not.
One more sleep till Axwell and Zedd blow our minds to bits as our very own Malaysian EDM music fest has descended upon us – Wicked Festival 2013 is finally happening! Deets as follows:
WHAT? WICKED FESTIVAL 2013
WHERE? SEPANG INTERNATIONAL CIRCUIT, MALAYSIA
WHEN? 23RD NOVEMBER 2013 6PM TILL LATE
Saving the world and bringing us back to life is Axwell, of (now defunct) Swedish House Mafia fame.
In my mind, in my head, this is what we’re waiting for!
Watch Axwell’s full set at this year’s Tomorrowland 2013 in Belgium, Germany!
Can you believe he’s coming to play for us? Well.. BELIEVE IT.
Showing us some clarity for the night will be young EDM prodigy, Zedd!
It will be a spectrum of havoc, for sure!
Zedd’s amazing set at this year’s Ultra Music Festival 2013 in Miami, USA!
So there you have it.
Leave the world behind and stay the night, for they will be headlining the party, full speed ahead.
The magnitude of talents will melt your brains as No_ID from Amsterdam takes the stage along with local heroes – DJ Nikki, BATE, Hightech, Ramsey Westwood and Captain Ed.
The punches will come, blow after blow, one after another, all in a single night.
Ready to get wicked?
Full artiste line-up!

So the night was Halloween and just like every year without fail, I would dress up as something from your worst nightmare; the type that you would expect to crawl out from your old, black & white butchered television.
Hey, actually that’s a great idea. I’ve never dressed up as Ju-On before. I should try one day when my hair gets long again.
Here’s a flashback on Halloween 2013, Halloween 2012, Halloween 2011!
This year round, I decided to go as a zombie Playboy Bunny.
BOO!
But let’s talk about the day first, before we descend into the night.
My colleagues and I celebrated a mini Halloween celebration in the office!
Lunchtime!
Trick or treat candies, Halloween cake and I went to work as an alien.
But by night, all hallows were released and I transformed into a.. wait for it…
ZOMBIE PLAYBOY BUNNY!
Creepy?
Final shot before I head out the door
Kon and I. He went as the Joker! I’ve always thought he pulls the Joker off really well!
We headed to Changkat Bukit Bintang for some bar hopping and Halloween pub crawling!
Went to so many bars till I don’t even remember which bars we went to, by the end of the night.
The Joker and the Zombie Playboy Bunny waiting for the rest of our mates
Grace as the sailor girl, Shahada as the naughty nurse and I
Take two!
Bob as a gremlin monster and I
Chris as a zombie and Charmaine as.. I don’t recall what she said she was.
Take two!
Lydia as the devil and I.
Shahzul as a weird creepy ape LOL
Creepy indeed. His dripping boogers and cross eyed face was enough to creep me out LOL
Chris as a Spartan King (nice bod, eh) and Samantha as the Catwoman
Anita as the devil and I!
Iranian buddies as a myriad of things!
Lemme see… Count Dracula, Wonderwoman and a pirate.
Taking a break after the party mayhem and the roll of photos.
And before I could catch a breath to rest, there were other Halloween folks on the street which wanted to take photos with us!
Of course I relented! I wanted photos with them too 😀 Amazing how crazy costumes bring party people together, eh.
In the middle of the busy street with a wizard and another Count Dracula
We were so busy taking photos that we almost got run over by a drunk driver LOL
And this uhhmm… I don’t know what he was.
But since he took a photo with me, I figured I should take one too. Cool make up, right?
With a werewolf and a… horse. LOL. So hilarious!
More friendly Iranian people who asked for photos!
They’re such a fun bunch!
At one of the bars we ended up that night.
I was so out of it that I’m really sorry I don’t recall which bar this is.
The DJs were shooting the party to the skies!
Suddenly, I was called up to the stage – which was as high as a bar-top table.
Whuuuuttttt was going on? Apparently, there was a ‘Best Dressed Halloween’ contest ongoing. Wowza!
Coolbeans. Haven’t danced on podium/bar-top since what, I was 19?
Mooove it, mooovve it!
Amongst 5 females and 5 males, I was selected as a finalist.
The other girls’ costumes rocked! I was having too much fun to a point that I couldn’t care less if I won or not. I didn’t even know what the prize was!
Since well… track record shows that Lady Luck has never been on my side as I never win in anything I participate in anyway LOL.
SUDDENLY MY NAME WAS ANNOUNCED AS THE BEST DRESSED HALLOWEEN FEMALE.
I won a bottle of Absolute Vodka!
Wow. Okay… winning the night came as a very pleasant surprise but – WOW! AWESOME!
This made me realize something absurd. Whenever I’m all out to win something or aim to win anything at all, I don’t. But when I don’t bother putting my heart and soul into winning or when I least expect it, I win. Oh, the irony.
With the rest of the finalists!
Why I do I look like such a dreary, dead zombie here?
Maybe it’s because it was 4AM and I was fully aware I had to wake up for a conference at 8AM.
I reckon I’d trudge into the meeting room the next morning looking like a real zombie LOL.
Best Dressed Female and Best Dressed Male!
He won a bottle of Jack Daniels. Hey, I want JD instead LOL.
That marked my Halloween 2013, another kick-as Halloween party! Wonder what I’ll become next year?
With my current addiction to The Big Bang Theory, maybe I’ll go as a severed Doppler Effect. Haha!
