Fun times at Cosmo's World Indoor Themepark @ Berjaya Times Square | Nuffnang Glitterati Plus outing

November 28, 2010 by thejessicat

So I asked myself… When was the last time I ever had fun in a themepark?

Only to realize that the last time wasn't that long ago.

Remember when I was at Genting Highlands' outdoor themepark with the homies? That was tonnes of fun!

So naturally, I was rather eggcited when Nuffnang invited me along to join a day out with them on a sunny Sunday morning

Be prepared for the adrenalin rush!! ๐Ÿ˜€

However, it was more than I could take at one point. I could literally feel my ass being thrown out of the seat, while clutching on to the metal bar as tightly as I can, hanging on to dear life!!! ;(

But hey, it's all part of the good fun ain't it?

My point in case ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™

God knows what speed I was spinning at, but it sure had me feeling a little woozy and seeing stars thereafter

Oh and if you were wondering why I'm dressed like that to a themepark, it's because I wasn't home since yesterday.

Was at the 7aste Monte Carlo event the night before (as you can see from the same outfit) and bunked over at a friend's place after a houseparty. Felt so inappropriately dressed to a themepark full of physical activities!

Thankfully, I had a pair of sneakers in my car.

Random shot with a random Ironman on stilts

I hardly ever get a chance to feel short and tiny when I'm out with my peers but taking photos with these tall men allowed to to somewhat feel midget-ish for a second. Remember these massively tall dudes when I was down in Singapore for Formula One? ๐Ÿ˜€

They were double my height!

Riding carousels and merry-go-rounds makes me feel like a child again, really. Especially colourful ones!

I picked this rather strange-looking seahorse

Don't know why but I look uberweird in this photo

๐Ÿ™ Perhaps it's the distortion. heh

Didn't take long for it to start! Natalie and I had such fun making silly faces along the way.

Thanks for all the pics in this post, gurl

All of us then proceeded to more rides…

Oh this was the aggressive ride that we went on which caused the 2nd photo above

I bet everyone's arms and legs were sore for the following days after today!

Mine certainly was ๐Ÿ™

Went on the train ride which toured the entire Cosmo's World

It was pretty fun as we got to see the whole place in one ride!

Like eggcited little children after a choo-choo train ride

There is a child in everyone! I don't see anything wrong with embracing that inner child in us

Actually, we didn't ONLY go on kiddy rides. All of us sat on much, much more aggressive rides than these chilling ones, but no cameras were allowed up there. See the rail tracks of the rollercoaster below? *gulps*

I don't think anyone wants their gears to be flung out skyhigh and land on someone's head (or someone's ice cream) below :P :P

Although that would be quite a sight to see! Hee.

Camwhoring with Vivien as we take the escalator down to the next zone ๐Ÿ™‚

I love this zone, for they had Bumper Cars!!!

The one and only reason why I love Bumper Cars so much is because…

This is the only time I FINALLY get to be the speed demon I am, make illegal turnings, drive on the wrong direction, be a road bully, park everywhere I please and hit other drivers without getting into the long arm of the law! ๐Ÿ˜›

Thank you Robo Crash for making us all feel like road criminals for 10 minutes!

Had fun crashing into XinXian, Kak Mira and her kid, Michelle, Karen and the other Jess (in pink)

So my Saturday morning ended pretty swell, thanks to a fun-filled outing!

I reckon this is was the reason why I'm actually awake so early on a Saturday morning. Also, had good day shopping at Chic Pop fashion bazaar in the afternoon

That kept me a happy little girl throughout the day

Guess who? Lady Gaga is going to DiGi Pimp My Music party @ Zouk tonight!

November 11, 2010 by thejessicat

Courtesy of Nuffnang, I was invited for tonight's DiGi Pimp My Music party at Velvet Underground @ Zouk.

Best part is, the last day of my exams are TODAY!!

Woots! So why wouldn't I go? I absolutely love love love costume parties and if you've been reading my blog for long, I've been to a number of themeparties for the past few years! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

As exams just finished today, I thought I would just go dressed up as a normal person. Doubt I have time to go pick and plan my costume! But hey, I changed my mind. Made props, dressed up and rented stuff would go perfectly for my Lady Gaga character tonight.

Introducing you… *drumroll*

TheJessiGaga!

For those who will be going, I'll see ya there aight?

Let's have some fun this beat is sick, I got my head and my heart on the dance floor! ๐Ÿ˜€

A day out in the sun flying kites by the lakeside at Taylors University! Thanks to Churp Churp

October 19, 2010 by thejessicat

Okay okay!

I reckon I have blogged enough about my maniacal never-ending nightlife for the time being already LOL ๐Ÿ˜›

So here's something a little different for the day. Something fresh, "healthy" and sunny – completely not dripping with booze of any sort!

I went kite-flying in the humid – yet windy – afternoon sun!

By the lake with ze huuuge kite! Pretty & colorful. Loves!

Having returned from another night of mayhem at Zouk the night before, I was surprised I didn't wake up with an after-party hangover.

Thankfully I managed to get outta bed, freshen up & got out the door in record time! Didn't wanna be late for Nuffnang's Glitterati+ meeting in the morning and subsequently, this Churp Churp 'Fly Kite' outing.

I see my Twitter profile pic on the Churp Churp bunting! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ Do you?

If you don't have me on Twitter yet, it's @imthejessicat hehe

So yes, the Glitterati+ meeting was good. The word is finally out and open to the rest of the Nuffnangers. I've been one of the pioneer members of Glitterati+ for quite some time now and it has been a fun ride indeed. Hence, I do urge all active Nuffnang bloggers to join as well! ๐Ÿ™‚

Right after the open meeting, we had a short campus tour around Taylors University Lakeside Campus. No wonder they're so proud of their Uni! It's omfg-outrageously-fabulously-impressive.

Makes you go, whaaaadd have I been missing in my tertiary education years?

Why was I born so early? This campus is magnificent! *jawdrops*

Here we are by the lakeside at Taylors Uni. See those buildings on the left? One of it is their library.

And on the opposite side, there's the "commercial" area of the campus. Here I am standing by the walkway. Can you believe that beside me lies a Starbucks, Subway, Old Town, Wong Kok Kitchen & Face2Face Noodle house, among the many others?

(pic credits to Simon)

Looks like im standing on a pier right? ๐Ÿ˜€ With the whites, the balcony & the water in the background

Waiting for my ship to arrive LOL!!

Lady luck was on our side today as the weather was just perfect for a kite flying activity!

I was a little paranoid though, fearing that it would rain or end up being all dark and stormy ;(

BUT I WAS WRONG! Look at how merciful the weather man was to us?

Pretty kites Green Octopus, Smiley Bat and Rainbow soaring up, up and above! ๐Ÿ˜€

And what's that dangerous creature below I see still alive in Year 2010???

Dood, you're like supposed to be waaaaaaayy extinct with the other bros and hoes of your kind ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜›

Wrong era, dragon! This is 2010!

Not 800 b.c or some ancient milestone where you giant lizards belong

It was plain to see that almost everyone was having fun playing outdoors – instead of  ramming their fingers on the keyboard – for once!

Kite flying. Such a classic! Prior to this, the last time I ever held a kite was with my late grandpa when I was 6?

I would scan my 6 year old self flying a kite for you if I could but I don't have it with me as we speak ๐Ÿ™ bummer.

 (pic credits to Mohd. Zaid)

But here's the me flying a kite 15 years later! All grown up ๐Ÿ˜€

Hey! Kite flying is not easy okay!! You think DOTA only need strategy ah!? ๐Ÿ˜›

Skills are needed to recognize the direction of the wind, how much force used to pull the nylon string and so much other kite-technicalities I don't wanna even go there LOL.

I took forever to beam with pride upon seeing my rainbow kite soaring higher than the buildings! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

hahahah yes Tim, I know it was hard to get it up & to make it stay up ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜› ahem.

For girls hard also! *giggles* XD

I do admit though, I had problems with my kite! ;( I can haz emo kite. It kept tangling up all over my hair, my wrist, my body & even my shoes! Maybe my kite was the black sheep of the kite family, who prefers to be dragged on the ground instead of flying high in the sky.

WEIRD KITE.

sucks to be you kthxbai.

But nothing stopped my attempts! In fact, I ran like sorhai (madp*ssy) all over the place while yanking the nylon string of the kite trying my utmost best to let it stay up in the air!

LOL Simon was also running like sorhai trying to get his Smiley Bat kite flying in the air

While I was struggling after numerous attempts (my kite never stayed up above for more than 30 seconds!) I decided to pop into Starbucks for an ice-cold Java Chip. Perfect for a sunny day! Was drenched in sweat you would never believe me! ๐Ÿ™

"Ima happy kite!  Smiley kite! Nothing can ruin my d…a..yy.. uh oh. wait.

I'M CRASHINGGG INTO TAYLOR'S LIBRARY! I shall put Osama bin Laden & his Al-Qaeda clan to shame!"

Haha. What can I say? I had an amazing Saturday afternoon despite only having 3 hours of sleep.

As expected, I headed home to zonk out for a couple of hours before heading out and about again ๐Ÿ˜€

(pic credits to Simon)

THANK YOU CHURP CHURP FOR SPONSORING US SUCH A FUN-FILLED DAY!

Much love

Hellooo from Singapore's Formula 1 Grand Prix 2010!

September 25, 2010 by thejessicat

ย

So here I am, living outta suitcase yet again for the 4th consecutive week. Have been traveling back and forth from everywhere that I don’t even remember what the color of my condo’s walls are anymore.

Kidding, it’s whitewashed with pale beige.
ย

I think.

ย

ย

I was extended the privilege of a fully sponsored trip down to Singapore to watch the F1 Grand Prix courtesy of Maxis, Lotus Racing and of course, Nuffnang. Also very pleased with my passes to the Grandstand worth $1288 SGD! ๐Ÿ˜€
ย

Red Zipper headbandย by Soak Republicย of course!!

๐Ÿ˜€ Check ’em out for more

ย

As I’m typing this with my frozen fingers, I would also like to accredit the place accommodating meย for these comfy 3 nights.

Grand Park Cityhall Hotel. ๐Ÿ˜€

Thanks guys for making my weekend a blast ๐Ÿ™‚
ย

After dinner, I headed to the circuit tracks to catch some rounds of practice sessions before their big day forย tomorrow’s qualifiying raceย and Sunday’s final night race! I also made my way into the concert of a certain band; an A-Lister of my top 10 favorite bands of the century.

ย

DAUGHTRY!

ย

For those not in the loop of who and what Daughtry is, where have you been!!?? LOL

Daughtry is an American rock band from North Carolina and frontlined by none other than Chris Daughtry himself – finalist of American Idol Season 5. I adored him waaayyy back in 2006 when he was still in the running to become the next American Idol!

ย

Those rock driven tracksย  ‘It’s not Over’, ‘Home’, ‘Breakdown’, ‘Over You’, ‘No Surprise’ and all the others got everyone feeding off their infectious energy, singing along at the top of their voices! Yours truly included ๐Ÿ˜€

Yup. It’s affirmative. Chris Daughtry and his band are love <3

ย

They sounded more fabulous LIVE than they ever did before on telly!

ย

Absolutely love them.

ย

I‘m going hommmeee~

To a place where I belong~

Where your love has always been enough for me~

ย

ย

But I especially adored his acoustic version of ‘Home’. It was so beautifully performed. Sweet!

Chris, the man himself!

ย

Initially wanted to watch Missy Elliot perform as well, but it was waaaayyyy tooo faarrย rย  at the other end of the circuit. A good 40 minutes walk from Daughtry’s stage.
ย

Despite her being my HipHop idol when I was growing up, lazybones got the better of me and I opted to stay longer for Daughtry and explore the nearby grounds instead.

ย

Lay by the grass to relax and take pretty pictures of my surroundings!
ย

ย

ย

wheeeee
ย

ย

ย

Love the scenic view
ย

ย

ย

Dear Singaporeans, what bridge is this? ๐Ÿ˜€
ย

ย

So that was what happened muchย  earlier. On the later part of the evening, I headed out to Phuture Zouk w a buncha friends to party the skies down.

ย

ย

Is Zouk SG better than its counterpart Zouk KL, in my homeland Malaysia?

ย

ย

ย

Perhaps! Not really but kinda at the same time.

ย

Of Tequila Pops andย Dryย Whiskies

ย

ย Yes, twins. Say hi to Matt & James.ย If you took a 2nd look at this photo ๐Ÿ˜€

ย

Yes, my ambiguity isn’t meant to vouch for any club!
ย

I still love them both all the same.

Who wouldn’t? ๐Ÿ˜€

Right, that’s about all for Day #1 in Singapore this weekend!

More deafening (think F1 speed demons) and mind blowing stories next ๐Ÿ˜€

Had smashin' fun during the XPAX XPLAY series of parties! Here's the one at MOIS Penang & GOSH KL

July 24, 2010 by thejessicat

So XPAX had their series of awesome partehs this time round again. It’s called the XPLAY Party and celebrated in various venues/clubs across Malaysia, namely Penang, KL, Johor, Malacca, Sabah and Sarawak. The line up included notable DJs with their expertise in various genres, dance crews, beatboxers and MCs.

Thanks to Celcom XPAX, I was invited to hit the party too and to bring my fabulous friends along with me ๐Ÿ˜€

Partyin’ in VIP style yo!

Only half of the gang came early tonight

I attended two of the XPLAY parties altogether because one was simply not enough!

So here’s the first one I went to, held MOIS Penang aka my 2nd home

MOIS’ entrance in its splendour of bright lights and decor

Bouncers busy at keeping the crowd intact

My homies and I were one of the early birds that night! But as early as we were, the interior was done with the set up. All ready to tear up the parteh!

Part of the backdrop on the stage and the DJ console

Before the event officiated, DJ Coollen had begun to hype up the crowd with his signature remixes of hip hop and R&B.

With the SINGAPOREANS ๐Ÿ˜›

With one of the besties Minny

Me and my gurls YingZi and Minny enjoyed ourselves chilling at the sofa while the boys watched some footie. If I ain’t wrong, I guess it was Brazil playing that night!

Mwah

With my man Josh

zomg he came despite having to wake up at 6AM for work the next day! woots!

Finally, the MC of the event kickstarted the party and told us all that there will be a DJ battle between Xu and Blink of the famed DJ duo LapSap. After that will be a HipHop dance routine followed by a Beatbox performance by one of the top 10 Beatboxers in the world, Shawn Lee.

So let’s get the partay started!

Bringing down the house with an iconic blend of House music

Shawn driving the crowd in awe after every performance

The dance crew was up next! They were godlike!

I think I even saw them a while back on telly. ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ perhaps?

Loved their popping locking dropping crumping & breakdancing!

The party lasted till wee hours of the morning. There was just so much energy and the crowd just kept raving on! No pics of the party scene because we were too busy enjoying ourselves hehe

But here are some pics of the after-party! I didn’t realize that the performers of the night were sitting at the table directly beside mine ๐Ÿ™‚

With Blink & Xuย from LapSap!

Hello Shawn, we meet again ๐Ÿ™‚

and I can tell you that the Penang crowd was certainly impressed!

My gurls and I went into a frenzy partying & dancing with these HipHop dancers!

They were just as good offstage as they were onstage ๐Ÿ™‚ Very spontaneous

Thank you for having me Kenneth. The party was a blast!

See you in KL for the next XPLAY

Okay! The next XPLAY which I attended was held in GOSH KL along the Asian Heritage Row aka clubbing square. Thanks to Nuffnang which invited me along with them.

What I really liked about this party is that they had polaroid shots going on at the photowall!

๐Ÿ˜€ in fact, I think ALL parties should defo have that.

Us with Kenneth ๐Ÿ˜€

Thanks for having us again dude!

Us three with VJ Utt

Babe! The polaroid of this you keep well kay!? ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Red zipper headband by Soak Republic

VJ Utt and I! ๐Ÿ˜€

So the party started and the whole lot of us got it bootyshakin’ to the music! Very very good club hitz indeed. Us gurls went crazy at the pole which was right smack in the middle of our table. Hmmm.. pole dancing anyone? ๐Ÿ˜›

Groovin’ along with Davide Succi’s music

Us gurls Audrey Jestina Michelle and I enjoyed ourselves you bet!

So did the boys Nic and Tim! Especially the ‘Nobody Nobody But You’ by the Wondergirls LOL

More party piccies!

Only took so little pics that night so I missed out on the other peeps who was there!

All in all, we had fun! ๐Ÿ˜€ Thankew XPAX woots! More partehs to come!
