The trilogy continues… super-clubbing phenomenon Hennessy Artistry KL 2012 is back with a bang in KWC, Kuala Lumpur

August 30, 2012 by thejessicat

If you haven't viewed my previous blogpost about the exceptionally epic Hennessy Artistry Penang 2012, I suggest you do *grins*

Jam-packed with photos and a narration of what happened, it's something you shouldn't EVER miss if you wanna know what went down at the party.

Enough fluff. Read it – here *clickety click*

For the seasoned Hennessy Artistry partygoers, you’ll know what to expect!

And for first timers, you’re in for a real treat, as Hennessy never disappoints.

Yup. Believe it. Hennessy Artistry is back!

Fresh off the island waves of Penang, Hennessy Artistry is roaring ready to tear up the capital!

The second instalment of 2012’s Global Art of Mixing Trilogy will be happening on the 8th September2012 on the 15th floor of KWC Kuala Lumpur.

Just a little peek at the interior of KWC KL @ Level 15 before Henessy's total revamp!

(Where is it & how to go there? It is located on Jalan Gelugor & Google maps link is http://goo.gl/wwLw)

This time round, Hennessy is more than prepared to host 3000 guests to a mix of world-class music and the trademark H-Artistry atmosphere!

Also, fellow EDM (electronic dance music) fans will revel in delight at the stellar line up Hennessy has to offer us next weekend.

From the interactive Hennessy 360 Panoramic Cam, to the plethora of drinks served on the night, you better be ready to turn up your party dial to the maximum level! I know I sure will

What do you think of the line-up this time round?

Personally, I was over the moon when Hennessy revealed their headlining acts for the evening.

Don’t know them? Imma introduce them to you now :

International vocal powerhouse Eva Simons is no stranger to the fans of electronic dance music.

This Dutch songstress is best known for her recent collabo with EDM giant Afrojack in ‘Take Over Control’ that we all hear permeating every dance floor around the world.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Fe4dk0Jtcw

Come on, you've GOT to know this! :D

Eva has also rubbed shoulders with LMFAO, Will.I.Am, Kanye West & many others.

Okay, who's next? :D

Jakarta’s cult-status Angger Dimas.

The young electro-house DJ has impacted party people beyond the borders of the Indonesian club scene. Due to his deft talents on the turntable, he went international very quickly

This isn’t his first time in Malaysia, as I’ve personally saw him LIVE & raved to his intense set that,

I swear, has the ability to shoot every raver to the skies

Okay, next up!!

*drumroll*

Shifting more to the next generation and local hipster scene, are KL’s rising electronic dance nu-breeds B.A.T.E (Brain and the Eye) duo who will be setting the pace of Hennessy Artistry KL 2012 with a mix of big room, disco, techno & electro :D

Personally, I haven't heard much of their sets to shower infinite praises on them just yet, but one thing's for sure, if Hennessy picked them to perform at H-Artistry 2012, you know they're made of solid spunk!

Last but not least is…….

The hard-hitting, edgy and wicked DJ duo aptly named the Bass Agents.

Familiar to many in the hard style, hard trance & hard dance sets, the duo comprising Mr. Nasty & GuruGuru are well-known for firing the energy levels through the roof and pushing way past the overload button

Vicious, vigorous and very brutal, Mr.Nasty & GuruGuru’s tight basslines will compel you to relentless headbangs.

Are you excited yet?

Entry is strictly by invitation only.

To score your invites, log on to Hennessy Malaysia's Facebook page to see how.

All I can say is, expect a supersonic bassline and a cosmic night as these artists take us on an energy-driven musical evening with one-night-only collaborations, complete with powerful vocals & lashings on the DJ deck as well as free-flow of the delightful Hennessy VSOP and its signature long drinks.

I’m ready. Let’s do this, party people.

To Hennessy!

My Hennessy Artistry Penang Experience + Press Conference with the artistes of the night

June 21, 2012 by thejessicat

My weekend went swell… it was a blast in every sense of the word!

Thanks to Hennessy Malaysia, I flew down to Penang on Saturday to attend Hennessy Artistry Penang.

At one of the many Hennessy bars during the press conference in the afternoon

As I've announced before in this blogpost, Hennessy Artistry is back with a bang this 2012!

The aforementioned party which I had the pleasure of attending, marks the very first of its trilogy of parties this year!

We arrived the airport as early as 9 o' clock in the morning, boarded the plane by Malaysia Airlines and had a pleasant flight towards Penang. Touched down safely just before noon.

Lunchtime at Blue Reef Fish & Chips @ Straits Quay

The grilled Chilean Sea Bass aka Cod with Prawns was delicious!

We were then ushered to Straits Quay Convention Centre for the Press Conference session along with a Meet & Greet with the artistes of the event.

They were Taiwan Mandopop boyband Lollipop F, UK Grammy-Award Trance DJ Andy Moor and our very talented local acts DJ Ramsey Westwood, DJ Ernest C and singer/vocalist Suki Low.

This way to the venue

At the Hennessy Artistry photowall!

Black Studded shoulderbag by Guess

Leopard Tank sponsored by Online Store : Friendly Fashion

Dark Grey jeggings by Forever 21

Neon Pink-Rainbow kicks by Nike

Had a sneak peak into the venue before anyone else.

The moment I stepped in, I was in awe!

Loved how they transformed the convention hall into such a posh bar-lounge to mingle about

Heaps of tables, chairs & lounge sofas for guests to chill with their fave Hennessy drinks

Guests will have their photo taken at the Hennessy 360 Camera platform!

Love it! So much fun 😀

That, my dears, is only the beginning!

For behind the curtains is the stage, many bars, lounge sofas, podiums and more located within the enormous party zone capable of hosting more than 2000 party-goers.

Patience, pet! :D Patience!

The bar boasting Hennessy's signature long drinks :

Hennessy Apple, Hennessy Berry, Hennessy Ginger & Hennessy Soda!

I had my fave Hennessy Apple made by the Hennessy girls manning the bar

Dear Hennessy, congrats on your lovely new bottle again!

Before we knew it, the MC of the event, MTV VJ Rich, ushered us to gather around before he welcomed the artistes of Hennessy Artistry Penang 2012 to the venue!

Richard Herrera aka MTV VJ Rich. He's a bit of a looker, is he not? 😉  😉

We had the opportunity to speak to them and find out what they think about this party.

Questions were posed and from there we got to know the stars a tad better 🙂

Owodog from Lollipop F answering a question from the floor

Did you know that the 'F' in 'Lollipop F' represents their FOUR members? 😀

Now we do.

Local DJs Ernest C and Ramsey Westwood sharing their sentiments

Suki Low and Andy Moor listening attentively

Candid shot! Suki Low in smiles

After the press conference, I told her how I watched her grow since her victory as a 16 year old girl in 8TV's One in a Million reality TV show. She seemed rather surprised and bashful about my knowing of her since way back then! :)

I was excited to watch her perform ever since her debut in 2006.

DJ Ramsey smile for the camera!

Rams and I :)

Ramsey, a fellow Penangite, is a friend of mine since teenagehood

Looking forward to watch him play tonight as (let's be honest) I've never watched him play LIVE before! 😛

Andy Moor. My eyecandy of the night!

I couldn't believe I was sitting about 2 feet directly in front of Andy Moor.

I've been listening to his works and remixes for a couple of years now and this British trance & progressive music DJ/Producer is nothing short of talented!  Take a listen to his tracks, it's really good 😀

I asked Andy a question : What will we partygoers be expecting from you and your set tonight?

To which he answered : I'm very excited about tonight. Expect a whole lot of groove.. and energy!

Andy Moor and I  My day (life) is complete 😛

Here's a group photo of all the artistes of Hennessy Artistry Penang 2012!

Cheers! Tonight's gonna be a good night 😀

Managed to steal a photo with MTV VJ Rich before everything was over 😛

When the Press Conference was over, we were left all pumped up and excited to partyrock on tonight with free-flow of superb drinks by Hennessy, a stellar line up, good music and many familiar faces!

You know there's always a good party with the world's leading cognac, Hennessy VSOP, around!

We were then chauffeured back to our crib for the night, G-Hotel along Gurney Drive!

I took a short rest, had a piping hot shower and began dolling up for tonight's event.

My room

Dubbed Penang's Most Stylish Address, it was a pleasure to have stayed in this seafront hotel that comes with a breathtaking coastal view. Except though, rather unfortunately, it wasn't the most breathtaking view as I had imagined due to the low tide of the sea.

Bummer! 🙁

My workspace for the weekend.

Had only very little time to bask in the comfort and spaciousness of my room during the day, a little bit during the night and the morning after, but I made sure I did! :D

But my love for my King Sized bed knows no boundaries!

Giant mirrors too. I approve! 😀

Now excuse me, while I put my best foot forward for tonight

Just before the event began, we had dinner at Hisago Modern Japanese Restaurant @ Straits Quay

I had cod again, but with Soft Shell Crab Maki and Sashimi this time!

After a satisfiying meal at Hisago, it was time to turn up the party dial!

Hennessy Artistry Penang 2012 was just about to begin…

Stay tuned!

M.C. Asia 2012 Official After-Party featuring Alex M.O.R.P.H LIVE in Malaysia! Prime Mover Album Tour @ Mist Club, Bangsar

May 28, 2012 by thejessicat

Heyya all! How was your weekend?

Mine went pretty damn fine, I'm back in Penang for the week! It's great to be cruising along your own familiar streets and routes you grew up being driven around in.

There's certainly no place like home.

On to today's blogpost!

Funny how I'm blogging about M.C Asia's AFTER-party before blogging about M.C Asia rave party itself

Shorter blogposts are always faster to write teehee!

Hence this came first, instead of some 200 photos of M.C Asia I shot & have to batch-edit

It's coming! It's coming!

Shot taken while raving at the dancefloor

My partypeeps and I came at the perfect time to watch the opening acts play!

When we came, we raved to two-thirds of local pulsating music force, TRIMIX :D

Droolette Tasha and Samuel Dan on the DJ decks!

MisterAriffin taking over!

Raving along to their progressive trance beats set the night well & left us wanting for more

I soon made my way to the VIP lounge and spotted Alex Morph and Sied Van Riel chatting over some drinks

Yup, that's Sied Van Riel with Alex Morph in Mist Club

Sied will be performing in Zouk Club the very next night, and we got to see him a day earlier!

Chick Magnet cap? 😀

Alex M.O.R.P.H and I by the VIP lounge

Alex Morph setting up his Macbook & other equipment

ARE WE READY???????? 😀

The crowd was up and ready to go doof doof doof

Buddy Pam and I

Another one of my rave kakis Reze and I on the dancefloor!

Le Housies on the party scene with me!

Just realized buddies Ven & Cheez and I didn't take a photo together that night.

Look at his Macbook! Ubercute, no? 😀

Reminds me of Looney Tune's Woody Woodpecker …..

See? Told you 😀

Alex M.O.R.P.H two hour set was the shiznit

I recognized some popular Electronic Dance tracks he remixed too.

Alex kept the crowd going and I spotted a big group shuffling non-stop at the back.

Pam and I flanking big boss Luqman!

And to end a fun Thursday night……..

Dutch Trance DJ & music producer Sied Van Riel of 'In Riel Time' fame and I

That's all for today, goodnight all! 😀

Have a great working/schooling week ahead of you, lovelies

Scream! FREEDOM freaky-spooky-horror rave party feat. Dutch DJs Ummet Ozcan + Leon Bolier

December 4, 2011 by thejessicat

I live and breathe parties, especially rave ones of booming electronic dance music with wicked basslines

And FREEDOM, proved to be one of the most stellar series of rave parties yet again.

The previous FREEDOM event I attended was the one 4 months ago in the lovely island of Penang

The party had a blue theme, but this time round, the theme was one of my faves ever!

FREEDOM rave – with a spooky twist!

As you might've already known if you're a loyal reader, I simply adore costume parties – or fancy dress parties – or whatever you call it, cos it's so much for fun. Just as long as there's a theme to adhere to, count me in!

The more extreme or outrageous, the better

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

When I arrived the venue, I had a tremendous – albeit pleasant – shock of my life!

Not only haven't I stepped foot in KL Live for as long as I can remember (as I was abroad most of the year), but FREEDOM has certainly transformed the place into a dungeon of horor!

Greeted by the Count Dracula + stone gargoyles + tombstones + cobwebs at the entrance

Stepped inside to see an extensive graveyard barricaded by spiked fencing + ghouls dangling from the ceiling

I could even hear (pre-recorded) eerie screams & laughter from the corners!

There was a smoke machine in motion too.

Aye, foggy foggy, misty graveyard!

So what am I? A devilish, flesh-eating zombie with Freddy Krueger claws haha!

When I brought my clan to party with me, I implored that they ALL dress up for the occasion.

I know it's the Malaysian party-culture to get lazy/uninvolved in such active participation of themeparties whatsoever but no, I shall not condone going to a themeparty in a pair of jeans & tshirt.

And neither will my friends!

It's time to up the freak factor!

Darryl and I bleeds it out!

Vic and I, bloodthirsty vamps for more of your blood

So…. who says Malaysians don't dress up according to the theme?

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED

I'll kickstart the revolution if I had to 😉

Say hello to one (amongst many others) that will!

So as I said before, about how FREEDOM's Scream Your Choice party set-up was really impressive, check out more of what they've got done up. The entire stage was adapted into a giant tombstone!

With loads of spooks roaming around everywhere!

Just as you thought Halloween was over, yeah? 😉

No. Not quite over, methinks.

I liked the 2 giant gargoyles mounted atop the stage which flanked the DJ spinning for the night

Dutch DJ Ummet Ozcan was one of the DJs spinning for the night

I checked out his tracks on Youtube. My faves are Arcadia and Timewave Zero!

He's pretty damn good. Could see the crowd tearing up the dance floor already

My buddies and I

What really got me going, apart from the deep, dark trance/electro/house beats of course, was the fact that this terror dungeon was full of party mascots mingling with the crowd! They were the side-acts of the night.

Here are a few which I managed to catch for a photo :

The Mummy!

A Pontianak (Malay vampire)

Guess who? It's my all-time favorite bad-ass villain!

None other than…….. Chucky the murderdoll!

And heaps more 🙂

Now that's such an awesome way to freak the shizz outta partygoers

We were treated to a freeflow of bloody cocktail, Cranberry Vodka for the night

T'was yummy… and the lychee reminded me of floating eyeballs haha!

Anyway, more random party photos of ze clan and I from the horror rave night!

Ze clan and I

Before we knew it, the next Dutch DJ of the night, Leon Bolier took to the stage!

He was just as electrifiying as the previous DJ if not better  Summernight Confessions was cosmic!

GOGOGOGOGOGO Leon Bolier!

Neon, colorful laser lights were bounding all around the walls in sync with his wicked beat drops

RAWWRRRRR!!!

Another one of my rave kakis Reze!

My entire party entourage of the night, altogether in one group photo!

Major loves and scares!

Thank you, once again, FREEDOM, for bringing down kick-ass electronica DJs and for an amzing party experience!

I got home just as bruised, battered and bleeding as I was when I first stepped into the party! 😉

Alls well, end's well.

It's never too late for a spooky thrill!

Can’t get enough of Halloween? Time for a freaky scream at the FREEDOM party @ KL Live!

November 3, 2011 by thejessicat

Woohooo! My final exams are finally over, time to turn my party dial up again!

And yes, that explains why I haven't been blogging for solid one week.

I promise heaps and heaps of updates are coming your way! Even I can't wait to share them with yall.

But for now, here's what fellow partygoers should be gearing up for this mid November.

Me at one of my previous Halloween parties

As I had no choice but to pull a raincheck on all my Halloween parties and events this year (damn the exams!), I instantly broke into cartwheels when I was invited to attend a gothic-horror themed party.

Yesirree, it will be yet another one of the Freedom series of parties – THIS TIME WITH A FREAKY TWIST!

I've checked out the DJs that will be spinning for us and you can trust me on this, they're great!

As a fan of trance, electro, house, dubstep and basically most variants of electronic dance music, I can vouch for both Dutch DJ Leon Bolier and Ummet Ozcan.

Here's some of my faves from them to get you pumped a wee bit more.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWQC3iVef4c

Leon Bolier – Summernight Confessions

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvepN2kxoPQ

Leon Bolier – Capetown

and

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ttUmVkQPTk

Ummet Ozcan – Arcadia

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9ebXtXO4lI

Ummet Ozcan – Timewave Zero

Those are just two of my faves from each of those trance DJs that will be spinning for us!

You could always check 'em out on Youtube and prepare yourself for the freakiest dance party ever

One of my Halloween pub-crawls

Will and I. BRAAAAAIINNNSSSSSS…………..

So get your fake blood and evil out, cos we're just about to unleash the dark side this mid-November

Here's the deets again, if you didn't already read it from the poster above:

WHERE KL LIVE @ KUALA LUMPUR CITY

WHEN 19TH NOVEMBER 2011 @ 8.30PM-3AM

WHAT FREEDOM : SCREAM YOUR CHOICE PARTY

Let's rave and get freaky free-flow!
