Wanna go to Heineken’s Kick-off to Ibiza Finale Challenge Party? | Mines Wellness Hotel KL

April 25, 2013 by thejessicat

It's that time of the year again where all the parties seem to collide back-to-back with each other every weekend (and even weekday nights).

So, before you guys ask me what parties there are lined up for this week, I'll let you in on some details!

One of the many events that will be happening this weekend is Heineken's Kick-off to Ibiza party!

I received a very creative and crafty invitation from Heineken early this week

It was in the form of a message in a bottle! Sweet yes

Thanks to Heineken, I have had the pleasure to party at almost all their music and rave parties alike.

And honestly? I really have to give it to the folks at Heineken for all the incredible parties they throw!  They really, really know how to win every avid partygoer's heart. heart

Heil, Heineken! wink

Take these pictures from last year's Heineken Progressive Party, for example.

GREAT MUSIC

A long night of bass-jacking tracks and progressive beats! devil

GREAT TIMES AND FREE-FLOW OF HEINEKEN

Good times with buddies and party-mates and not remembering how many bottles we all chugged! cool

GREAT LOCATION

Where else but my homeland, Penang Island?

At the classy Mansion 32 along Upper Penang Road

They transformed the entire dining area into party central!

See? Told you I've always had good times at Heineken parties.

This time round, Heineken's going to bring their party-scene a notch higher.

Recognize this place?

Ring any bells yet?

How about now?

Are you sure?

IT'S IBIZA, BABY! PARTY CENTRAL OF THE UNIVERSE, HOT DAMN! cool

The clock is ticking as the Heineken Ibiza Final contest officially ends this Saturday. Heineken is giving Malaysians the chance to watch the screening of UEFA Champions League (UCL) Final VIP-style in the party capital of the world – Ibiza, Spain.

The only catch is that the Heineken Ibiza Final tickets are hidden in a secret location somewhere in Klang Valley and fans are encouraged to collaborate via social media activities in order to be one step closer to finding out where the tickets are! devil

Once the location is revealed, 80 lucky football fans will be invited to participate in the Heineken Ibiza Finale Challenge where they will have to display their skills through a combination of charm, imagination and inventiveness to be rewarded with this ultimate football and music experience.

Hmm.. I wonder what they have to do… angelangel Heh. Heh. Heh.

You know an epic, hardcore party is in store for you if it's a Heineken party cool

The top three winners will join 250 Heineken fans from around the world in an ultra luxurious all expense-paid VIP experience at the UEFA Champions League Final viewing event Heineken-style in no where else but the party capital of the world – Ibiza, Spain.

To stand a chance to win:

1) Log on to Heineken’s official Facebook page OR

2) Head to any participating Heineken outlets nationwide (most clubs and bars)

enlightenedContest ends on 20th April 2013. enlightened

Trust these chaps, they sure know how to party deliriously hard devil

And you heard that from me wink

Click here to view the entry

I've just been told that they are running a very interesting contest on their Facebook page!

The mechanics are pretty simple. Listen up

All you gotta do is pick the template that you like best, insert your pretty face into it, decorate it with cute stuff and… ta-daaa! You'll get your custom-made Facebook cover photo.

Here's my design!

So far so good? I'm almost done making my little meadow pretty!

I had good fun personalizing it :D

Hand-picked the little ingredients such as Argan Oil (coconut-looking thing), Aloe Vera leaves, white Chamomile flowers (that look like tiny daisies!), yellow Jojoba flowers and water droplets to decorate my Facebook cover photo! ;)

After you're done with that, just follow the instructions & next step is to create a matching Facebook profile pic badge to complement the new Facebook cover photo which you just made!

Now, get your friends and family to vote for you! :D

The Facebook cover photos with the most votes will be shortlisted as winners, but the final winners will be selected by the judges.

This is how the voting gallery looks like!

The prizes include a grand prize of up to RM6000 cash prize & loads of Nivea Pure & Natural products!

The number of bi-weekly and grand prizes being given out as well as the value of those prizes increase according to the number of fans on their Facebook page!

Take a look:

Help them reach a higher number of fans to unlock better & higher chances of winning!

So go have fun and join this simple contest now at their Facebook page – here!

Contest runs from 3rd January 2013 to 28th Febuary 2013.

Don’t have the all new SAMSUNG Galaxy Note II but want to play with it anyway? Be Creative here… NOW GO!

December 18, 2012 by thejessicat

You know they say if you really wish hard enough, you'd get what you wish for?

Well… ever since I heard about on the SAMSUNG Galaxy Note II, I've always wanted to give it a thorough use to fully understand the functions and interactivity.

My first time holding the all-new SAMSUNG Galaxy Note II!

A while back, I was invited to the launch of the SAMSUNG Galaxy Note II the moment it arrived in Malaysia.

It had a huge clear screen yet such a slim body & so high-tech but user-friendly at the same time!

I was enchanted by it!

And yes, I finally had the pleasure of taking the time to play with one myself :D

Guess what I enjoyed the most about the SAMSUNG Galaxy Note II? It's the… S PEN!

The S Pen is undoubtedly, one of its most unique selling points

This Note II is arguably the first amongst the pool of smartphones in the market to have a stylus

Featuring the S Pen, SAMSUNG is running a contest to unleash everyone's creativity!

Wanna hear more? :D

If you're the kind of person who thinks the pen is mightier than the sword, pick up your S Pen and start drawing/colouring/designing on the official SAMSUNG Be Creative page :D

This is what you have to do :

If you don't have the SAMSUNG Galaxy Note II, fret not. You'll still get to play with it anyway!

Head to www.becreative.my and use your mouse to draw with the virtual S Pen instead :D

I decided to help Adam C complete his drawing of a football jersey. Adam C, I CHOOSE YOUUUUUUU!

httpv://youtu.be/US2IC5clSus

Watching this funny video by Adam C made me want to draw for him even more LOL

It wasn't easy! Required a certain amount of skill & precision as I was using a mouse instead of the S Pen

But after almost an hour, here's what I came up with for his jersey design.

BEFORE (empty jersey)

AFTER!! (My design)

What do you think!?!?! :D:D:D Not bad, right? Haha. Oi it's not easy, okay! :P

There were different colours, gradients, ink thickness & pen types in the S Pen to work with.

I had fun exploring! My design was so random, I know  Would you wear it?

Adam C said he would  Haha he'd better! I spent almost an hour of my time doing this

Here's what you'll get if you win!

Don't worry if your drawing ain't as good as Ernest Zacharevic's. Art is, after all, a very subjective thing ;)

Try it for yourself, it's fun! Well, I had lots of fun at least :P

I haven't actually drawn something in ages, so this proved to be quite a challenge!

In both my hands are the SAMSUNG Galaxy Note II & the real S Pen

I've done it. Now, it's your turn! Put your creative flair to good use with the virtual S Pen

Who knows? You might just win :D www.becreative.my *click*

Unfair & Dissapointing "BEST DRESSED" results of DiGi Pimp My Music party

November 14, 2010 by thejessicat

So yes. Most of you lovely people out there knew that I attended a party last night dressed as Lady Gaga.

It was a music bash party, featuring music on-the-go downloads on the new iPhone application called DIGI Music Play by DiGi πŸ™‚

Thumbs up to them!

Looks like Gaga found her music on the iPhone app too! πŸ˜€

Anyway, since lotsa people asked me how I did the look (don't know why you ask me actually, as I'm not a pro make up artist at all. Much much more talented people on YouTube you can learn from), I will show you briefly how I did it. πŸ™‚

1. After your liquid foundation and lose powder, put on the closest you can to Lady Gaga's extravagant eye make up and blend the colours of your eyeshadow. I used Electric Blue and white shimmery powder on my upper lids and Purple/Dark Pink shades to feather them out and on the lower lids as well.

It takes lotsa time to blend it to a perfect finish. Darken as close to your lashlines as possible with black eyeliner.

Webcam pictures doesn't do justice for proper visual details, sorry πŸ™‚

2. Draw her signature lighting bolt lightly, with the fine felt tip of your eyeliner brush first. You want to get the correct shape of the huge lighting bolt. Can't afford mistakes because that's gonna make you wipe off everything and start from scratch!

Yes messy house – usually like this after examinations πŸ™‚

3. Take a step back and look at yourself further, in a bigger picture. You might notice some crooked edges of your lighting bolt, so refine and sharpen the edges to make it as straight and perfect as possible.

4. Darken your lighting bolt with a black liquid eyeliner.

5. Load up on your lashes. Curl them and apply plenty of mascara and falsies πŸ™‚

6. Put on a dark pink/red lipstick + gloss (Not obvious on this webcam photo)

7. After putting on your wig cap, put on your blonde wig. Find the long straight ones with bangs in front.

Two options to zhng up your new long, blonde hair

a) Tie a hair bow

OR

b) Wear her signature huge headphones

8. Wrap the wires and cables of the headphones around your neck

9. Wear a pair of satin black gloves

10. Bring out your silver lighting bolt that you have prepared earlier. I made mine out of styrofoam and glittery silver fabric. You can use any material to make this bolt, cardboard, aluminium foil, silver paper or anything .

If you're too lazy, turn a store upside down and buy it. πŸ˜›

FINALLY, take another step back and camwhore!

What better way to look at your own photo to judge how you look? πŸ™‚ You can always fix it if you spot any mistakes

Obviously, before you put on any make up, make sure you have on your long top (I used the one my best friend bought for me as a gift from UK) and your liquid black shiny leggings. Pair if all off with a pair of boots.

And I'm ready to adjourn! πŸ™‚ On my way to Zouk now.

The Fame Monster, Lady Gaga has arrived πŸ˜€

OK SO HERE COMES THE SERIOUS PART.

Before I begin, lemme assure everyone that there is no offense meant to anyone and should anyone take offense, then please, don't get your panties tied up in knots or get sand in your boxers because of me. This is just a sincere account of how I felt last night.

The reason why I'm typing this is because I'm just so tired and fed up of answering everyone asking me BBM-ing, DM-ing, Whatsapp-ing and MSN-ing me regarding "how come I didn't win" the title of Best Dressed at the party last night.

That, and I also don't feel like talking about it anymore nor repeat myself.

Didn't win, didn't win la! Winning ain't everything.

I know you guys care and was in disbelief that's why you asked in the first place, but believe me… I was also just as shocked upon knowing.

No point telling me anymore that (Not my words. Quoting from everyone) I "should have won" or my "outfit was better" or how "all the efforts put into crazy dressing up gone to waste" or "how can a flamboyant look lose to something so minimal".. etc. I've heard all of that from everyone and well, what can I say?

The judges decision was final – whether or

not it was "always the smarter choice".

Allow me to clarify. My issue here is affirmatively not about my loss.

I am certainly not a sore loser and I acknowledge that in a contest, there is always a winner and losers

But here's where my dissatisfaction comes in –

HOW CAN 3 OTHER WELL DRESSED PEOPLE LOSE TO SOMEONE WHO DRESSED UP THE LEAST??

I'm sorry, but can you see the difference in the effort put in for each costume dress-ups?

It's ridiculous! The judges must've been shot in the eyeballs or have grime stuck on their cornea adversely affecting their vision.

Not intending to boast, but I'm giving you an honest account of what happened. The moment I walked into the Zouk, I was greeted with positive comments, non-stop requests for photo taking, cheers of support from people I don't even know and very nice encouraging compliments from everyone.

Nevermind the fact that I walked from my condo down to my car looking like that, attracting baffled stares.

Nevermind the fact that I somewhat shocked other drivers in the cars to my left and right while driving to the venue.

Nevermind the fact that I wasn't "allowed" into the premises until carpark attendants and security guards had their pictures taken of me.

NEVERMIND all that.

Because, as long as there is someone better dressed up than me, then all the above doesn't matter anymore as I would admit defeat and wave the white flag with pride. Clearly if someone had put more effort than I did, the better dressed up contestant deserves to win the Best Dressed prize πŸ™‚

Fair and square.

Here's where my next issue comes in. What's the title category up for grabs here?

Best DRESSED.

Not Best Dance, not Most Simple Costume, not Best Performance, nor Best Impersonation

it's BEST DRESSED. In case you are visually disadvantaged like them, lemme reiterate.

BEST DRESSED. BEST DRESSED.  DRESSED.

DRESSED.

You tell me, which part of an "outfit" consisting of normal shoes, short black tights and a long sleeved black tee (probably taken from own wardrobe) apparently coming dressed as Lady Gaga can upstage that of fully dressed contestants comprising rented wigs, heavy character make up, fancy character accessories and complete costumes from head to toe?

What happened to BEST DRESSED??

Let me assert that this is nothing personal and that I have completely no resentment towards the girl at all. I don't even know her, have never heard of her and its entirely not her fault in this matter. She can wear anything she likes to any party – heck she can even come in stark naked or dress all covered up like Mother Theresa for all I care πŸ™‚

Thing is, IF i had lost to the two other very well dressed contestants – Elvis Presley and Marilyn Manson, I would have no qualms whatsoever and will instead, whole-heartedly congratulate the rightful winner.

I must commend Elvis Presley for his very well thought of costume, hair and props..

And three cheers for Marilyn Manson for his very similar dressing and characteristics as well.

As you can see, these were the only 2 people I took pictures with (apart from emcee Adam Lambert below) because before the Best Dressed finalists were announced, I could see that they were my clear rivals in the contest right from the start.

And we were all good of a sport to take pictures with each other despite being friendly competitors. πŸ™‚

I could see that they also went to great lengths to rent their costumes, wigs, dressed up from head to toe, prepared props, put on character make up as well, hence very much deserving of the Best Dressed prize too.

I left with a heavy, disappointed heart but a false smile on my face – to let everyone know that I'm okay.

But I'm actually not. Far from feeling okay.

At least I knew deep down I won fair and square in winning the hearts & attention of the crowd and certainly had a better chance of wining the Best Dressed prize. Thank you to those who told me so.

All your hugs telling me that you "thought I was going to win" or "I had a closer Lady Gaga look than she did" or "that I should have won" or that I "was obviously a better dressed Lady Gaga" tonight. (Again, not my words but other's).

It's these sincere and honest words (and fair judgement) from everyone that assured me that I was among the 3 stars that very night. Thank you, each and everyone of you. It certainly meant a lot to me πŸ™‚ Hugs.

Oh and, upon exiting, I happened to bump into Elvis Presley and he told me of how unfair he felt the results were as well. My sentiments exactly. Honestly, even HE deserved a better chance at winning that prize with his whole fancy get-up.

Sigh. The results were unfair and you know it.

Whatever man, seriously. what can I say?

I hope you see where I'm coming from in this rather long rant. I just had to get it out. My mere intentions has never been t to cyber attack anyone but rather to voice my displeasure.

On another note, the prize possession did not influence me to write this as well. I'm not hard up for it at all. It was an iPhone for goodness sake. I don't want it and I don't need it. Nothing against iPhones as well, but longtime readers of my blog would know that I'm a hardcore RIM Blackberry fangirl.

My issue raised here is just the unprofessionalism of the judging criteria.

If a category clearly states BEST DRESSED, it speaks for itself what criteria should be taken to judge

I may not be the best dancer in the world nor remotely anything close to the best singer on earth

But then again, that shouldn't have anything to do with a dress-up contest.

Let's say the finalists were narrowed down to 2 from the 4, if the judges were still undecided

then it's a good chance to let the crowd decide among the 2, also solely on that criteria

What the contestants do on stage should go under Best Impersonation or Best Performance

Whatever happened last night was beyond me. Ultimately, the judges decision was final.

Oh and next time, remind me to clad myself in very minimal & simple dressing and perform a sexy dance like an good professional dancer to win the Best DRESSED prize. Because that seemed to work compared to…..

…. the exact replica and effort like this. Doesn't impress the judges! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Uh-huh. Makes TOTAL sense now, doesn't it?

Radical, if I do say so myself πŸ™‚
