WELCOME HOME CHAMPIONS OF THE SUZUKI CUP
You've done us proud. Good game too, Indonesians!
——————————–
So alright, I was never a fan of fighting publicly on Twitter.
Reason being, fights should remain private and not put up on the World Wide Web to see.
Hence, I never ever chose to do it.
Closest I've ever been was some very subtle yet snide remarks or sarcasm but nothing too substantial to warrant a fight.
UNTIL. Last night. This was no personal affair.
Malaysia played against Indonesia in the AFF Suzuki Cup during the 1st leg final in our National Stadium, Bukit Jalil and beat them to a beautiful score of 3 – 0. Just like my fellow Malaysian citizens, I was rooting for my country all the way for our victory and cheering for them on Twitter despite the bitter accusations that our neighbouring country threw at us.
They made #malaysiacheatlaser a worldwide trending topic even.
What started it was when someone replied me on Twitter so childishly and not only insulted me, but my nation as well
and many other tweets which I can't seem to find now.
They've probably deleted it -___-
Thanks very much to some of my tweeples on Twitter for the support and those who backed up my responses.
Here are tweets from other people –
Allow me to reiterate that our Malaysian footballers scored 3 goals while playing fair and square ON THE FIELD.
They had nothing to do with some childish, dimwitted and juvenile Malaysian fans at the stadium playing with laser lights. In fact, our goals gradually scored one after another AFTER half time.
CLEARLY, after the lasers have already stopped by then.
However, I am ashamed of those handful of Malaysian fans who played with laser pointers. It was a distracting and ignorant thing to do.
BUT
Also for your kind information, an Indonesian news source, Tribunnews, has reported that the Indonesian fans also did use and point their laser lights at our Malaysian goalkeeper. Looks like we're equal now.
Ramli Mohammad Sharbinee being pointed at by the laser beam
Check it out here, if you can read Bahasa Indonesia.
Oh and here are some of my tweets from last night as well –
Just for the record and to all my Indonesian readers out there, I have nothing against Indonesia nor Indonesians at all. 🙂 In fact, I've many Indonesian friends in university and have an Indonesian maid at home whom I love dearly
Football is a competitive sport, but not meant to cause such a ruckus 🙁
See you in Jakarta, at the 2nd leg held in Gelora Bung Karno Stadium. All the best to Harimau Malaya and Garuda Indonesia
Here's to hoping that fans of both nations drop their lightsabers! 😛
May the best team win.
haiya.. no need to be heartache with this kinda ppl wan.. ^^
haha last night I was so fired up, like everybody 🙂
Now okay edi! Wheeee
You make war, I make peace 😛
I reconnected Malaysians and Indonesians and became top tweet, haha. See here http://bit.ly/hH10lT if you haven’t. RTed 625 times by now 🙂 I’m glad that tensions have decreased, I’ve seen #lovemalaysia and #loveindonesia on TT today.
so no brain wan. i also kena insult when i didnt say anything. was just supporting local football.
yeah i know what u mean. I didnt say anything about Indonesia also. Then tiba-tiba kena insult LOL
It’s alright lah, no worries. maybe they were just angry and fired up. Everyone was also hyped up over this
woah, nice weih babe. Keep it up!
thanks! Cheers. Let’s hope malaysia wins!
I saw the news. WOW
where!! 🙂 I wanna see too
In the fairness of sports, the pointing of lasers does somehow distraught or effect them in a small scale due to the fact they are playing on our Malaysian grounds. Any sort of distraction and pressure is definitely magnified but to claim that the pointing of laser lost them the game, it cheapens the game by a lot. I think the public is making a big hoo hah on such a trivial matter. As a matter of fact, at the end of the match, I had a glimpse of the Indonesian team shaking our teams hand and with one of them giving them the thumbs up. It must have meant our boys did play really well.
Well everyone has his/her say but don’t come insulting our country! That’s a def. no NO. Anyway we shall see what’s the outcome when our team heads to their homeland and prove to them that our guys are INDEED the real deal.
Yup, my point exactly. The laser pointing DID happen, and whether or not which side did it (malaysia or indonesia), that behaviour is memang wrong to begin with. We are not on the pitch so we dunno exactly how much it affects the players but its still shudnt be done.
my main issue here is how can malaysia win solely BECAUSE of cheating by laser pointing. -_- Even IF we did, 3 to Nil is such a big gap of a score.
Yeah i super cannot wait fo malaysia to play in jakarta. Hv confidence in them!!! 😀
I think one of the reasons that people should play/complete in sports is to learn that you don’t always win and that you should lose with grace. Obviously this lesson bypasses so many people on so many levels.
exactly. I dont think they’ll make much of a fuss about lasers should the other side win instead LOL
What’s her problem? Oh man, she should look at herself FIRST. 😛 Support you, Jessicat 😀
her problem is that we’re pro-malaysia. LOL
thanks! 😉
this bunch of people = sour grapes 😀 This Siti Nur Amalia (not sure if it’s even a real name) can keep all these to herself, why she wants to raise all the hatreds among the twitter users? Brainless and meaningless. She probably thinks by doing this she can change the final result. Childish. 😀 The fact is, using bad English or not is none of her business and obviously she does not have the privilege to point her fingers to anyone.
Hi! Thanks for featuring my Tweet on your blog (@suzieuda). I’m 32 years old and frankly too old to be engaging in a pointless Twitter war 🙂
But when I was suddenly attacked on Twitter by a stranger who wrote (in poor grammar) that Malaysia “is very very BAD”, “looser” (sic) so “I thanks God I’m not Malaysian”, I sure wasn’t going to take it lying down!
So I duly blocked the person but NOT before giving him/her a piece of my mind :P.
I replied: “Loser? The last time I checked Malaysia won. R u sure you watched the game?”. Later I sent him/her this: “Btw, it’s loser not looser (longgar) and “Thank God” not “Thanks God”. Don’t have to thank me for the grammar lesson. It’s free.”
I know I was being super petty for hitting below the belt — with my snide grammar comments — but aiyoo who can tahan such stupidity wei? 😛
People who know me know that I don’t lose my cool easily. But the accusation that Harimau Malaya won BECAUSE they cheated was just too much for me to handle. It was just wrong! And if Malaysians don’t set the record straight — that Malaysia is as appalled with the idiots with lasers as the Indonesians AND that the Malaysian team scored 3 goals because they were brilliant on the field and not because of the stupid lasers — then the rest of the world is going to think that Malaysia is guilty of what it’s being accused of.
Ironically, I ended up having a new Indonesian follower yesterday 😛 whom thankfully had some sense in him. I even wished Garuda luck on Wednesday!
It still hurts to know that there are new hate trending topics on Malaysia but I just don’t care anymore. Regardless of what is being said about Malaysia, nothing can change the fact that we won 3-0!
The silver lining to me is that when push comes to shove, I know that Malaysians of all ethnicities will come together to defend their “tanah tumpah darah ku”. The twitter war yesterday is a testament to that 🙂
That’s the whole point about these weird wars.
When a FEW ppl disagree and act stupidly, suddenly ppl becomes against the whole nation.
Like wtf? a handful of idiots does not represent the whole country.
I have indonesian followers, readers and friends too.. but none of this has affected our relations.
and also wots funny is that we’re told off in rather embarrassing language that is apparently english 😛
anyway, here’s to wishing Garuda and Harimau Malaya all the best too!
they are simply a bunch of emotional sore losers… hehe…
sigh. i know! 🙁
i just cant accept that they sed we won BECOS of the lasers. that’s totally ridiculous
good point, dear…
let’s hope the best team win 🙂
woooohooo!
well, in a game of balls lasers shouldn’t be part of the game…but name calling were good…IMHO..
yeah, it’s the childish fans watching the match that played with the lasers.. not the football players 🙂
some moron insulting me and my mum on twitter last nite… start from now on every tweet we make must end with #lovemalaysia or #iheartmalaysia .. i just say back 2 Millions Indonesian will say #lovemalaysia and they change the topics to batek, foods whatever.. i also change the topic, hey isn’t it Malaysian help u during disaster, and all of u just sitting like retarded moron (is there any genius retard?)..and they start insulting me… but nvm i just said they bunch of cowards c*cksukka.. LOL
the funniest part is that they sed we stole their culture. wtf?
asian culture is so assimilated already for centuries and centuries… who “stole” whose culture now is all a grey area
thats true.. well i got one more proof and i’m going to report it to Police on twitter.. they plan to attack Malaysia team supporters tommorow and i submit it to kickitout.org about it and they will submit to FIFA
whoaaaaa so teruk!?? OMG 🙁 dangeroussss
yeah… just follow the trending hashtag #lovemalaysia some Indonesian keep provoking… now about batik no more football..LOL
omg so stupid.
Well, you guys out there.. if you see any threatening message on any form by the haters, just print-screen or take a photo of it. submit it to info@kickitout.org and we gonna make sure there’s no more FIFA or AFC soccer match in Indonesia..
Seems like the fight is still on. Seriously, those people have NO life. Polluting our country, insulting our country. What do they want? Those people are H.A.T.E.R.S. = Having Anger Towards Everyone Reaching Success!
haha nice acronym! 🙂
the anger should only be focused on their dissatisfaction of the GAME. and not about culture, n insulting our country which has nthing to do with what happened on that nite! 🙁
Hey, love the acronym! 😛
woots! me too 😀 😀
Lol! And I thought what kinda #malaysiacheatlaser, #iheartmalaysia, #iheartindonesia hashtags that I saw on my twitter and Flyguy(nigel) went all twitter rampage over indonesians and rant about indonesians that hates Malaysians 😀 I’m so behind time wtf must be Christmas 🙂 So let’s all be jolly and live happily in this lil round earth that God made for us all. Still, Malaysia or Indonesia, we’re all still breathing under the same ozone layer wtf. 🙂
hahaahah yeah! its in the news all oso.
Nvrmind! mebbe ur in a holiday mood still hehe 😀 😀
Yeah, countries n boundaries are imaginary…the people are real! 😀 in ONE earth.
sore losers, the lot of them
😀 yeaaaaaaaaaa
police claimed that the laser is not only from MAS fans, but also from indonesian fans…huh!
yeah, ive posted the photo above also.
i mean, during the FINAL 1ST LEG…the laser also from indonesian fans…
yes correct. i know wot u mean.
the photo I posted is our malaysian goalkeeper kena laser by indonesian fans. 🙂
Yeah I heard of the lasers… I think tis very unsportsman like anyway WOW the things you get yourselves into Jessica. Don’t worry we got your back 😉
hehee 🙂
Yeah the lasers were all over the news. So nonsensical to say that they lost bbcos of the lasers. come on, 3-0 is too wide a gap to give that excuse.
LOL ya i tend to get myself into this kind of nonsense dunno why >_< been dodging non-stop bullets frm our neighbouring country since last nite bleh.
sore losers bleh. but it’s really nice of you to stand up though 🙂
hehe thanks 🙂
I stood up with a few others who stood up n shot back as well!
well if the fact that indonesian people also lasered malaysian GK..then i have nothing to complain abt the match at all..i was so angry until i knw about this..well just play fairly..
yeaaaa!! i dun get the WHOLE point of doing this childish behavior -___-
no matter who does it, malaysian or indonesian or BOTH. it’s just stupid and distracting to the players on the field!!! then now theres a hate feeling between our two countries. FOR WHAT?? due to childish supporters who play w lasers -__- tadak otak langsung. haih
this kind of stupid laser things never ever happen in europe (high class league) so embarrasing…
yup, ur right. maybe the vuvuzela was abit annoying, but not as annoying n disturbing as the lasers
don let a fraction of these brainless citizen distract our focus on the game.
lets not even put ourselves at their level to begin with.
wheeeeeeeeeeee! we won we won we won!!!!!!!!
we won!!!
IKNOWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!! OOMGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!
I WAS SO HAPPY LAST NIGHT!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHA!
yerpp.. i was crying watching it.. and the most priceless moment, was the 1st goal by Saffee Salleh. the whole stadium making “no-sound” for a few seconds. i lost many Indonesian FB and twitter friends but making new Indonesian friends too which not agree with those haters, they said most of the haters only a loser in their community.. they only know how to talk but without action. 🙂
Goal!!!!!!!
Raja Gopal is the man! Fahmi is the octopus! and the rest is the hungry tigers!
Awesome! AFF was introduce in 1996 and Malaysia did not win anything until… LAST NIGHT!
