Fancy some Italian love?

April 27, 2009 by thejessicat

It was not often that cousins reunite after moving off to a distant place. In this case, Madelene and I never saw each other for almost half a decade. Except bumping into each other at a nearby coffeeshop back in Penang. And now, a cosy Italian Restaurant.

Facebooking can somehow rediscover that thin line of biological connection, of which was long forsaken. Uh-huh. And through this interesting phase of cyberspace socializing, Maddy and I made a date and hung out – just two gurls having fun.

Two gurls, a camera and a pizza place

This is one place I must recommend. Cipolla Ristorante Pizzeria is the name, and fabulous Italian food is their game. It’s located in Bangsar, KL.
You won’t miss it!

I find no point having this picture uploaded.
But I like how it’s taken

The ambience is one to marvel at. Dim lighting and rustic atmosphere really sets the mood going. Don’t plant notti images in your own head just yet but honestly, it is a really romantic get-up.

The food here is absolutely mouth-watering. Its portions are enough to feed the whole of Africa! Okay well, I’m exaggerating here but yeah, you catch my drift. 🙂 It sure as hell made me full even before I finished!

Nevermind the dashing elderly Italian man who served us!
🙂

We started off with the appetizers and soup.

Salmon has a way towards my heart
loves!

My fave being the Pumpkin Soup.
(which reminds me of bestie Joyce too)

I was pretty fascinated with the way they sprinkle those condiments on my soup. It’s a glow in the dark shaker!

All the more reason to go “ooooooooooh”

The snacks served with olive oil – on the house!
I feel so oriental in this picture LOL

And proceeded to the main courses.

Let’s begin!

Where there’s ham and cheese, you’ll find me!

Maddy has a fetish for clams

Delicious no, dear couzzie? *Cough* later that night, she sorta had a bad tummy ache. Hmm… perhaps it was a bad clam? I wonder.

Anyways, you guys should check out this place! We gurls dig it. Lovely place for some dining and soothing music. For more, visit their site [here].

FYI, prices range from RM30 and above per main course.
HAVE FUN!

ALL ABOARD FOR HAPPY TUMMIES!

Ever had exclusive and upper-class meals aboard a train? With stationmasters dressed immaculately in their suits serving you gigantically huge portions of sizzling rib-eye steak?

Photobucket

Tell me, it’s a dream.

I just got back home from dinner 15 minutes ago – just me, mum and gramms. The thing is, I’m hardly ever back for dinner. So it’s just so very lucky of me to happen
to join them!

Photobucket

We headed to one of my fave places – Victoria Station, aptly named as ‘The House of Fine Steaks’.

It’s not my first time here, I’ve actually watched this humble “train station” grow. Some staff had never left since my first dining experience here when I was only 8years old.
Take this dude for example:

Photobucket
He started off as a trainee long time ago and he worked his way up – being the station master!

Truth be told, I’m actually impressed by the concept of the restaurant.
Fancy having your meals aboard a train.. and the interior is so accurately decorated to liken to the insides of a real train. There’s an upper deck and a lower deck too.

I’ve always loved that place, its so near where I reside yet serves excellent meals.

Other fond memories of this place was during one of Benjie&I’s anniversaries,
OMFG this was back in 2006
okay stop laughing. ha-ha.
family reunion dinners or simply just to stomach a good meal.
*thumbs up*

Check out the “lesson” given on the last page of the menu. Bet you didn’t know your own cow. ^_^

Photobucket
Now children, memorize this and shock your parents!
Bet some of them wouldn’t even know what a chuck nor a shank is.

Photobucket
Gramms absolutely loved her Black Pepper VS Steak!

Apart from from fine steaks, they also boast great Seafood platters. Being a very fish (not fishy) person, I had my Grilled Salmon of course.

YUMMMMM NEVER FAILS TO PLEASE MY TUMMY *biggrin*
Photobucket

Check out this Lobster Combo : (I heard it was good)

Photobucket

LOL at the following picture.
Photobucket
While some of you will see no sense to laugh at this picture, mom and I have some “history” with it. See the glass of water with the yellow flower in it?
“AND YOU KNOW WHAT I DID?”
(stares at Fimey & Josh)

Can’t believe I’m sharing this with all of you but when I was a child of 8, I actually put whipped cream into that glass and poured black pepper sauce onto the petals of the flower. Sooooo uncivilized, iKnowRight?

-__-” Pesky child I was.

So remember all of you ‘s coming down to Penang, this is a place you’d never wanna miss! Happy tummies, yo.

Easter weekend!

March 25, 2008 by thejessicat

Look at the Easter egg I was supposed to decorate.

pretty?

haha. Obviously not. Cos’ it’s still empty!!!!

I was supposed to decorate it….. but I didn’t say I decorated it, did I? =P

My loved ones & I headed down to Equatorial Hotel to indulge in their brunch buffet and Easter Celebration . Hmm…. aren’t I supposed to be in church? =/

The food was yummy – I finally get to eat my bread&butter pudding! Oh, for those not in the know, I have this insane craving for bread&butter pudding. I took like, almost a plate-full of it. Oh well, that’s enough to satiate my bread&butter pudding tank!

Another delicious thing served was the Russian Salad – absolutely tasty!
It’s just adorable how they served it on a spoon , and although it sufficed only one mouthful, I took many spoons. It was my fav of the day!

Have a bite?

Easter being easter, the event was decorated with lotsa marzipan bunnies. None for real though. Dubby and I decided to get a lil kinky with the ones Uncle Mike collected back

This is so wrong.

Plates & plates of varied entrees, main courses, desserts, pastry and the like was enough to put out anyone’s malnutrition =) Although I have to admit not everything was good, but hell yeah, it sure was enough to make my tummy happy!

Mr. Bean, one of the main attractions

Mr. Bean golfing without the ball

On this blessed Easter, I actually couldn’t believe my luck! My name was announced to receive the 1st prize in the lucky draw contest!
Ya’ know, honestly, I’ve always acknowledged the fact that I’m shitface when it comes to this kinda stuff – lucky draws or any minor contests that requires luck. But I guessed the tables have turned now, lady luck has chosen me!

The prize? A buffet lunch for two in the coffee garden of Equatorial Hotel.

Be nice. *giggles*

Dine in hell

September 17, 2007 by thejessicat

My night sucked. I spent hours worrying about Benj and his issues. Which, of course, included mine as well.
Anyhow, to cut the story short, we resolved it pretty soon and yeah, it was one of those moments again when I realised how much Benj and I love one another.

Is this some ‘devil of all love’ phase? hey, most of my friends are going through relationship problems at present. And why is that? Could love be facing its dooms day? Would love ever perish in the hands of hatred? Whatever it is, ours is invincible… and I know it dear.

Benjica numero uno!

Had a rather dissatisfied lunch in Manila’s Place.
Please note: this picture was taken BEFORE our meals

My reasons for dissatisfaction are hell justified:

1. Slow service
2. Senseless staff – what are we supposed to eat our meals with, our hands?
3. Unobservant staff – we had to wait for eons to have our dessert served even after we finished our meals a long time ago; eventually having us to ASK for our dessert.
4. Untrained staff – did not ask what side dish us customers wanted, instead, simply assuming so.
5. Blur headed staff – we had to continuously beckon them to the table.

6. And… what’s the point of elaborately decorated meals when it purely sucks??

However, it just sucks as I had to bottle my frustration in; only because a friend of mine and Joyce’s other friend were working there as well. *sigh* Oh, and to add to my frust, they better thank their lucky stars that there wasn’t a customer feedback form on our table. Otherwise, they are to

DINE IN HELL!!!!!!

THIS. IS. SPARTAAAAA! JESSICAAAAAA!!!
