I don't recall how excited everyone can get over a smartphone. 

The very moment I posted about being at the Samsung Galaxy S4's teaser event at The Curve, my phone was ringing off the hook! 

Geez, guys! I know you're excited, but hold your horses, will you? Haha! 

I've got neverending questions like, "When will it be launched?", "Is this phone good?", "How much will it be?", "Will there be a plan/telco package for it?", "Where will it be launched?", "Exact location and map of the launch please?", "Do you recommend this phone?", "What are the new features of this phone?" and the list goes on. 

But don't worry, you guys were not the only ones anticipating the Samsung Galaxy S4

The crowd began to build up just to watch the sporadic mini orchestral peformance last Friday

Bumped into buddySam! 

Four amazing vocalists (I could hear the alto, soprano and vocal sound effects being sung in harmony!) were belting out latest chart-topping hits; with a twist. 

What twist? Well, I'll let you judge for yourself… whether or not you recognize this tune. 

Galaxy S4 is coming! So get ready for your mind to be blown!

Not to forget the amazing string quartet as well.

The violinists and cello player  were so melodiously in sync!

Everyone was buzzing about to take photos of them and to

catch a glimpse of what was going on in the crowd

It was a hive of activity at the open space of The Curve that evening

Everyone was so amused when they heard the choir-orchestra band sing and play songs that they recognize but incorporating Galaxy S4 into the lyrics.

Rather clever, I reckon! Quite a jingle, they've achieved.  That song has been stuck in my head all weekend LOL

I also went home with a whole bunch of colourful balloons!

Looking at my clammy iPhone 4S, I can't help but to think… perhaps its time to switch sides? Heh. Heh. Heh.

This got me all excited as I am a ardous fan of sneakers/kicks and love all things urban & street cultured!

It was brightly-lit, cheery and jostling about with media and guests. The loud, booming music certainly helped too.

I recognized them instantaneously and knew all the lyrics by heart YO.  Ya'll know what this is, this yo' girl Jessicat.

PUMA's Evolution of Suede has reached its peak and now concludes the series of parties with the Evolution of Suede Finale Party!

This For the Street party celebrates PUMA Suede’s 45th year in the game change and marks the release of the Future Suede.

Street culture was my thing as a boisterous teen, back in the day.

All those hip-hop, grafitti art, metal street fences, breakdancing, sidewalks, brick walls, spray paint cans – I knew that all too well!

I particularly felt the inner street rebel of my past clamouring for attention. 

Come to think of it, I should have came dressed in my baggy pants, tank top, NYC snapback cap, bling metal chains and walk like a thug.

Haha! That would be a sight to see. Imma be so gangsta, there wont be no recognizing this homie, ya'll. 

Moving on…

Mr. Dan and Shikara, two prominent personalities in the Malaysian hip-hop scene were the hosts for the evening.

A live graffiti performance by graffiti artist, Newba and live shoe designing booth were manned by graffiti artists, Bee of PHBKLK, Iqbal of Fresh Kids, Carpet, Katun, and Nenok. I watched them attentively as they worked their magic fingers with their tools of trade, marker pens, sprays and colours.

I almost wanted those artists to graffitize my sneakers! Should have brought my plain white ones for them to go crazy with. 

Had a few bites and drinks in the VIP zone with some friends Koujee, Dennis and Yu Jin

Koujee will be performing in a short while, just you wait!

The night kicked off with a performance by the winners of Showdown 2011, Elecoldxhot.

I've watched them plenty of times before and I'll never get tired of them. 

Their street dance tonight, and as always, was brimming with energy and their routine was well in-line

with the progression of the hip-hop dance scene from the late 90s to its present form. 

Very apt for the theme of this For the Street event, I must say!

After their performance, the boyfie and I went exploring around the zone to check out a few other epic, life-sized shoe designs.

Proud to say this one was done by my friends Miranda and Kevin (my former colleagues in the print media industry). 

Nice one. I recognized it instantly! See the CMYK motif and other print symbols? 

There was also an exhibition of the top 30 designs selected from the 160 entries received for the 2058 Future Suede design contest.

Soon after, we were entertained by a beatbox performance by Koujee. 

He interacted with the dance floor superbly and dropped epic sounds from his voicebox!

Think hip-hop, rap, RnB and EVEN DUBSTEP.

Koujee's beatboxing was smashing! It got me booty-shakin' to the beat and vocal bass.

It's been a long time since I've partied to RnB tunes.

Next up, was a DJ battle performance between DJ Fuzz and H3

The Future Suede is light-weight (weighing only 180 grams) and boasts

I think my Classic Suede could use a lil bro to keep him company amongst my collection of other sneakers.

With faith, trust, and a little bit of pixie dust, I flew off to Neverland with Peter Pan!

Actually, no I didn't. How I wish, really.

In reality, I did zoom off to Neverland after work though. But it was Club Neverland, to be exact.

WeChat Malaysia threw a massive party in the city for social media influencers and I had the pleasure to be invited along with many others!

Here's a little background information for those of you who have not got the slightest clue about what WeChat is all about yet. (But really, who hasn't heard of it by now?) 

WeChat is a new mobile phone text and voice messaging communication service. It was initially launched as Weixin in China in 2011 but was subsequently rebranded as WeChat in 2012 for the consumption of the worldwide market.

To date, WeChat boasts more than 300 million user accounts. (Wow! Yup, I'm one of them too)

Personally, I was introduced to WeChat since late last year, and have been using it particularly to talk to my friends residing in France and China as well as my family who don't seem to be using any other instant messaging platforms.

Witnessing the advent of the hoardes of other instant messaging platforms like Whatsapp, BBM, Viber, Google Talk, LINE, Skype, Facebook Chat, I personally think WeChat stands out from the rest because of its additional features, apart from the usual text messaging, video chatting, photo & video sharing, broadcast messaging and contact information exchange.

As a WeChat user myself, here are the features that makes it different.

It has a hold-to-talk voice messaging (just like a walkie-talkie!), super cute & animated emoticons, doesn't have a limit to how many people can be included in a chatroom, a social networking feed (much like a mini-version of Facebook), available on Blackberry, and if you're feeling bored or a bit more sociable than usual, there's also location based plug-ins like 'Shake', 'Look Around' and 'Drift Bottle' to start conversations with other WeChat users nearby or around you.

The moment we got inside, we saw many people queueing up to take photos at the instant photo booth. 

It almost reminded me of the Japanese purikura sticker photos machines!

We wasted no time in taking one home for ourselves.

Well, actually, *I* wasted no time. After I chose this cute green frame with a funny-looking singing cat, I had to drag him to take a cute photo with me.  Boys will be boys! Haha.

As we were all hungry by the time we arrived, we made a beeline to the buffet area to grab dinner.

There were heaps of food to go around. Think: spaghetti bolognaise, anchovy-fried rice, spicy noodles, chicken satay, pies & pastries and more.

I particularly took a liking to the cut mangoes and seedless grapes that were going around.

MINE! AAALLLLL MINE! 

But Guess what was the highlight of at the buffet table? 

Something so cute and a really clever touch to this WeChat party! Wait for it…

Take two!

While enjoying our dinner, us guests were entertained with performances on stage.

Kicking off the evening was an opening dance of hip-hop nature by a street dance crew.

They were brimming with energy!

Mr. Poshu Yeung, the Vice President of Tencent International Business (the company who operates WeChat), gave us a warm welcome, a brief introduction of WeChat in Malaysia and expressed his delight seeing such a huge crowd turnout at the party!

We should be the ones welcoming you, Mr. Yeung, as it is your first time in Malaysia! 

It was quite a tight squeeze with the crowd jostling about everywhere, but we managed to park ourselves at one of the tables close to the stage. Here are some photos with some of my buddies! 

To keep us entertained apart from all the mingling and catching up we were already doing, there were more stage performances in store for us.

This time, it was a vocal performance by local singers Vivian Chua and Henley Hii.

Performances aside, there were also many funny and engaging games being played.

Five males and five females from the crowd were welcomed to join MC Rudy on the stage. This game was almost like a battle of the sexes! It was hilarious watching the boys answering questions about make up and manicures while seeing the girls being questioned about cars and football were no less entertaining!

While the games were on, I took the chance to catch up with more friends!

I just realized that the only times we do actually meet up, chit-chat and hang out are only somehow limited to when we coincidentally get invited to the same events. LOL!

The next performance was by popular, Warner Music Malaysia record label singer Awi Rafael. 

I could already hear screaming fangirls even before he began singing.

It was my first time watching him sing, and I must say, his vocals were pretty impressive!

Get it down on the dance floor party goers! 

I left shortly after, as it was a working weekday the next morning. Bummer!

One humid afternoon, I was invited to attend one of Standard Chartered's ICT competition roadshows actively ongoing at various universities. Guess which university I was at?

It's impossible to miss their booth as it was the brightest and decorated with giant cubes everywhere!

The university I made my way to was none other than Taylor's University Lakeside Campus; the university that made me feel like a little lost lamb in a big city the moment I laid eyes on their state-of-the-art infrastructure and impressive campus environment. 

Boy, I'd definitely like to study there if I was a student again!

Oh by the way, the deadline for the this ICT Competition has been extended! 

That gives you more time to come up with a brilliant, innovative business proposal, ey?

It was hustling and bustling with students chattering and jostling about.

Going to university, listening to the workshop and siminars, I feel like a student all over again.

Sitting in the lecture theater with the students, paying full attention to what the "lecturer" has to say. Ahhh… it feels all too familiar!

The afternoon featured pendrives to be given away, delicious finger food, mystery prizes, a board of representatives ready to answer any queries by students regarding the ICT competition, creative Instagram challenges/contests and a short seminar by a man of profound leadership and experience – Chief Information Officer of Standard Chartered Malaysia, Dato' Arif Siddiqui.

The students sure had quite a lot to learn from him about the banking industry and his innovative input about the competition. I would no doubt want to hear a few words from the man himself too, if I was one of the student participants. 

Naturally commanding respect and held in high regard, it is no wonder his talk garnered a full-house attendance!

Okay, except the first row of seats of course. Being a student before, I know the drill.

You just don't sit at the front row lest you be called the teacher's pet haha! 

After the workshop was over, the students, or Taylorians, as they call themselves, and I hung out around the booth outside the lecture hall.

We ate, we mingled we chit-chatted and of course, played with the cubes for the Instagram photo contest.

Have you ever been challenged to do something ordinary, BUT in a very extreme, out-of-the-ordinary way?
Well, I might just have.

A few nights ago, I was asked to up my game and to take a challenge in sharing this competition with you, dearest readers, and to produce a video of myself playing badminton – as creatively as I can.

Truth be told, I am no skilled badminton player, but I’ve had my fair share of badminton almost every week during Physical Education lessons back in school and of course, the once in a blue moon, casual badminton session with my family.

So I suppose it is safe to say that I can play badminton quite decently, should my skills not betray me. I might be rusty!

The next morning, I had to borrow a badminton racquet and a few shuttlecocks

from Mr.BFF and we began shooting it over the weekend.

I gave it a long thought on what video I'm going to come up with, for my own version of upping my game.

Considering the fact that I often push myself to the limits and up my game with every gym session, I decided they were of similar nature which I could relate too. Combining these two together would be a brilliant idea! (At least to me, la :P)

After more than an hour of shooting and several hours editing + rendering the footages & video, here’s a VLOG and the video I managed to come up with:

Everyone in the gym were were giggling and giving me awkward stares. The nicer ones were asking what this was about, so I had to explain, as I was causing quite a racquet in the usually-quiet gym. (Haha. Geddit geddit?)

Now, I'm contemplating posting up a compilation of blooper footages that didn't make the final cut. It's so ridiculously stupid, I can be such a monkey sometimes.
