The Sunday Times XXXII: Sights, sounds, adventures & eats! My week in a flash ♥

July 21, 2013 by thejessicat

Hi loves!

This week was filled with friends, love and celebrations. Oh and, a lot of food as usual haha!

So let's see… what made my week this time round?

My seven days began at work (where else?) on a Monday. And as we were chilling outside our office porch, my colleague took this candid shot of me.

Deep in conversation with another colleague LOL.

So I suppose this is my serious face when I pay attention to someone talking.

(Actually I don't even remember what we were talking about anymore)

He took another photo, which I had some fun editing.

Tuesday night went great as bestieJoyce asked me out to celebrate my belated birthday!

She was away on my actual birthday, so I guess this makes up for it. I was thrilled smiley

Dressed up really casually tonight; I didn't feel dressy for some reason.

The birthday dinner at Picknik,Publika was great! Wonderful conversations my loves over great foodheart

Full blog post soon!

The rest of the week was all about my daily grind at gym and post-workout meals as usual:

Lower back and leg day. Hi!

Blueberry proats with banana and almonds

Organic wholewheat fusili tossed in extra virgin olive oil with

chicken mince, baby asparagus, kidney beans and chia seeds!

Experimented with something new on Thursday.
Raw honey baked stuffed capsicums with lean, ground beef, minced chicken breast and vegetable fillings!

I don’t usually praise my own cookbook creations but this was delicious and tastes just like pie! laugh

Will refine my recipe and hopefully post it up ok! kiss

Lunch with the colleagues at IKEA Restaurant & Cafe

No prizes in guessing which is mine! cheeky

When we arrived today, I was almost overcome with shock when there were hardly anyone eating at a restaurant which was, more often than not, always 100% full and even people lining up in long queues!

Then I realized it was Ramadan month where the Muslims fast all day. Right, no wonder. cool

The next night, Kon and I decided to storm Jalan Alor for some local streetfood.

Actually, he was craving for hot and spicy clams since our last visit. So we caved in.

Yun Lai Restaurant along the buzzing food haunt in Jalan Alor.

We didn't remember which was the store we patronized on our last visit, so we gave this one a try.

Amongst the hoardes of stores lining the main street, one could easily be spoilt for choice.

Here's what we ordered:

Chicken Satay

Black Pepper Baked Prawns

Barbequed Stingray

Sauteed Asparagus

Hot & Spicy Lala (clams)

Grilled Mushrooms

The food was great! We had an enjoyable evening there, despite the presence of aggressive waitresses trying to solicit customers to dine in their stores. She literally yanked my sleeved in a relatively rough manner towards her store LOL.

Didn't quite appreciate that. indecision But the food certainly made up for her lack of mannerism!

Come Saturday, I threw a small birthday party with my closest buddies.

Many thanks to The Pool KL for sponsoring my night and Smirnoff Vodka! heart Thank youuuuu so much.

Sorry for the bad quality! It happens when the image is sent directly from Instagram frown

We also spent the afterparty in Zouk Club KL. That was one hectic night, alright. heart

Will be blogging about the night a.s.a.p yes promise! x

Just a few things I've pondered about and held for a long time, but only decided to execute now.

When you ask yourself whether or not you are truly happy with the way things are working for you now, what would your answer be? blush

Are you happy with where you are, what you are doing, how you look, who you are with, and your life in general at this present time? If you're not, or have mixed feelings about your answer, then you probably lack the happiness you have in mind.

Do something different, for once. Only you can dictate where your life is headed to.angel

Do something to break free from your current shackles and give yourself the time to re-evaluate.

A re-route. A different path in life. A new direction. wink

Sure, you may not be sure if this is really what you want and risk emotional withdrawals but hey, it's only normal. Don't be afraid to embark on something new or shuffle your priorities. It's just the beginning.

Go where you are celebrated; not tolerated!

So if you think you are strong enough to shut your eyes, put your barricades behind you, and dive into the deep for a new adventure, by all means, go for it. I did, with absolutely no regrets.

Much love,

kissJessicat

For every day of the week, I am thankful for what every new day brings me.

So here's a new once-a-week series; published every Sunday night to recap the highlights of my week, capture what piques my interest and to share recommendations for to-go places and to-eats throughout the week.

These are the bucketful of things that made this week more awesome than the last!

Had fun watching my little boy Chivas playing with his new fluffy toy mouse that theboyf bought him!

Had some pub grub with my gurlfriend Pammy at Tom, Dick & Harry's @ TTDI

We had a pint of Blackthorn Cider, Breaded Button Mushrooms, Pork Ribs Curry, Chicken & Mushroom Pie

Needless to say, you know what it is despite the fish eye distortion! :P

Succumbed to my Swedish meatball cravings at Ikea @ Mutiara Damansara

Hey, did you know there is an app called REAL LIFE?  That's right.

My buddies & I surrendered our cellphones & piled them up in the middle of our table for

a more personal social outing!

Lunchdate with theboyf at Sakae Sushi @ Sunway Pyramid

We had Beef Sukiyaki, Japanese Potato Salad, Sesame Squid, Soft Shell Crab and lots more!

Chanced upon this and I couldn't agree more.

I think everyone should heed this about everyone!

Made some healthy lunchies at home!

Buttered Toast with Tuna, Hardboiled Eggs, Fresh Lettuce & Avocado mash

Checked out the latest outlet in my suburb – My Burger Lab @ Seapark Petaling Jaya

Had their best-selling A+ Beef Burger and the Hangover Burger!

Breakin' a sweat on Wednesday evening!

5KM run clocked in at 35:00mins at Celebrity Fitness @ One Utama

Cooking up a storm in my kitchen!

Citrus butter-baked Salmon with Roasted Carrots, Fresh Lettuce & Orange Wedges

At Godiva Chocolatier @ Pavilion KL. Our little Sunday evening out in the city!

Chocolate makes us happy; what about you? :D

Tried out the new Absolute Chocolate from Secret Recipe @ Uptown Damansara

I loved how my teeth sink into different levels with each bite. Definitely a must-try!

My current earworm : Leventina – Champagne Nights  Especially 1:15 onwards!

A hot latte on a cold, rainy afternoon helped me stay warm throughout the gloomy day!

Just some camlovin'

Made early dinner!

Honey & Oatmeal Baked Spanish Mackerel with sides of Poached Eggs & Boiled Carrots;)

When hunger pangs got the better of us – Iranian food & shisha on a Thursday night!

My Greek other half made us dinner – a popular delicacy in Greece!

Got woken up by babyChivas this morning! :D

Just got back from some shopaholic time at Pavilion KL

Cheers to my new cream coloured wedges  So comfy too!

KayElle #2

December 18, 2007 by thejessicat
All set and ready to go! She’s ever movin.. here and there! One minute back in Penang the other minute away outstation. This trip, it’s to KayElle with Benj –

[info]benjieos

. The journey was tiresome and boring but we recreated a whole new jolly atmosphere by laughing & playing around

LOL. You’ll probably see the rest with Benj. And of course, there are some of the niceys

We arrived safely *gulps* and were greeted by a familiar face – Jose!
What a babyragdoll hmm?

After ONLY less than an hour of rest, we headed straight to One Utama for some shopping. Here, there and everywhere! But looks like I have to put a -stop- sign on my wallet (due to my hazardous shopping activities last month) lest I become the next broke-to-the-core person.

Check out 1-U’s christmas decors: can it beat KLCC’s and Time Square’s?

Soon after, our tummies signaled dinner. Benj and I walked around scouting for a perfect place for our meal. p.s- My Benj being the dudu he is, walked into Chili’s and embarrassed himself by asking a silly question.

However, we did enjoy a fantabulous meal at Friday’s. That is THE understatement of the year.

Fattening? I. DON’T.GIVE.A.FUCK.ANYMORE
For those who know me well, you’ll be surprised I said that.

We got home and ka-plunkked on the bed. Goodnight all.

The next morning at an unearthly hour, we had to wake up early to rush (via feet, cab and LRT) to the U.S Embassy to pick-up Benj’s visa. This fatfatfattenned-obese cow of a security guard was so darn stern that he yelled at a poor little kid for innocently taking a photo. She was so frightened and ran away! I hope you won’t get nightmares gurl.

We then hit Mid Valley for more shopping, good food and to meet up our friend Jean and her boyf Daniel. Waiting a good whole ONE HOUR in Sushi King for them got us pretty pissed in the beginning, but it was worth the wait. Glad we finally met up, guys!

All in the mood for Christmas!
Oh, and we were at the Pet’s world soon after. Check out these felines.
They look like they’re probably fed-up with what life has to offer. poor cats!

IKEA, Ikano Power Center and The Curve was the next stop and we ordered a dozen of their famous curry-puffs for supper and breakfast tomorrow. Saw more pretty fascinating sights too!

wow. home. mine. future. must!

*screeches to a halt* WAIT! this reminds me of my dudu silly boo –
Exhibit A : A wooden model
of Hubby

Had some yummy home-cooked dinner by Benj’s aunt and now he’s beside me waiting for his turn to ElleJay. Aight, gonna go bounce now! Need to shower

It’s a one-way ticket to Penang tomorrow!
Had a great time with ya boo~
