Surfing the menu!

June 8, 2008 by thejessicat

Wellwell.. remember I told you that I was psyched to eat those meals on Sweetheart’s turn to operate Le’Cafe
here ?

and we did!

WE CAME
WE SAW
and… WE ATE!

I was stoked that Daniel & Sko even came along! Thanks for your support guys!

Credit goes to bestie Rachel for bringing them as well

We came downstairs after Mr. Mark’ class quite early and they were still preparing the meals for lunchtime. Hohoho… Imagine what caught my eye?

I saw Albert making fire instead!
And.. certain people were actually sitting on GAS TANKS???!!??
What if it blows up if you release your natural Methane Gases?

Sweetheart was preparing something while Izzat was wiping the plate

How much does it cost me, Mr. Cashier-WaiHoong?

I can’t read your sign language.. umm, two bucks?
FAT hope. LOL

It rocks being the Chef de Cuisine’s babygurl as I get an extra portion and a lil bit of everything to taste! Yummy!
Thankfully no one saw but.. oh dang, I just mentioned it. Hopefully, Chef Darren doesn’t read my blog hun. =P

So here they are!

And our favorite, the grand finale…

*psst* When do you think my birthday is hun?
I forgot.
*winks*

my babes and my obsession
(if you can’t see it, you’re prolly visually impaired
as I’ve already emphasized it)

Verdict? Well.. It was all yummy except that the first batch of it were not really warm. Prolly cos you guys made it and by the time all of our meals arrived at the same time, it gotten a lil cold.

Joyce prolly had alot to say on her evaluation form! =D

Anyway, it’s not fair that lil sis & mom got the hot & warm crispy ones!
=( And we already left *snorts*

But overall, from a general point of view,
Kudos sweetheart~!
♥ ♥ you know I’m always rooting for ya
=*

a

BIG THANK YOU
to the V.I.Ps of the day

who applied leave
&
came all the way!

A red carpet walkway for you buddies!

Cooking up a storm!

June 3, 2008 by thejessicat

Tomorrow is finally THE day!

hohoho.. nope it’s not my birthday (psst.. it’s on the 1st of July f.y.i)

It’s the day that Sweetheart is in-charge of the operation of Le’ Cafe! Which means, all the meals on the menu were planned by him and prepared by him! With the help of his team, they are going to be operating Le’Cafe tomorrow at lunch time.

So if you guys are free tomorrow AND thinking what to eat for lunch AND happen to be nearby KDU College AND coincidentally around lunch time, you know what to do! =D Drop in and grab a bite at Le’Cafe, KDU.

If you guys walk into KDU and have no friggin’ clue of what Le’Cafe looks like, this is the one:

Planned, professionally prepared, operated & handled by the aspiring chefs from the department of Culinary Arts. The crowd is at the cashier point, not because the cashier is cute/hot/whatever-i-couldn’t-care-less-focus-on-the-food, but everyone is lining up to buy the lunches there!

As mentioned before, they prepare good food.

Food decor & presentation are also done professionally & improvised from what they had been taught in their syllabus.

p.s- I’ve seen his proposed menu which he was intricately planning last month and even contributed my opinions to it. So yeah, most of it are my faves. So rest asure that it’s be good, cos me likey GOOD FOOD! =D Bwahaha.
Can I have a bit of everything hun?
*puppy eyes*

Behind the scenes… lies a demented Chef student

Now, who could that possibly be?
*thinks hard*
Oh yes, the creature from my previous post
Chef Jamie-Oliver-Short-tongue GAY-vin
(who looks like he’s trying to cut off his already short tongue)

And many thanks to bestie Rachel who took her leave off from work tomorrow just for this sole purpose and this purpose only.

*
Try it. Bite it.
You WON’T refuse it!
*

All the best for the thingy tomorrow hun,
you can do it!

I can’t wait to eat all the food.
(oops. Did I mention ALL?)

Snap Snap!

May 21, 2008 by thejessicat

And if I didn’t already enjoy Mass Communication in campus? It has just gotten better and jam-packed with fun! Being a person who already loved photography sosososossoso much, I was overjoyed when we were arranged to take Photo Communication classes this semester. *jumps ecstatically and cartwheels*

Remember when I mentioned about my photography field trip to Campbell Street – here?

We had fun from the beginning way till the end. Look at the rest of my classmates climbing the wall of childhood:

Mike then thought that after being blessed by the wall of childhood, he was able to fit into the slide. It looks like his plans turned out otherwise… he got stuck while trying to slide down! Nyeh-heh-heh
HELP!

Modelling was then in action as we were assigned to take close-up shots and half-body shot. Take a look at the models of the day. *applause*

Steph the model, already familiar with the photo sessions

I was just waiting for him to do something spontaneous when *snap* went my camera
I love this picture!

I had a chance to have my picture taken by the bridge.
See the fountains behind? Pretty,no? =)

The ape did have the golden opportunity to have his picture taken as well

It was oh-so-sweet when the Bollywood romance & Cupid’s arrow hit Sree & Vicky right on the head! Latest additions to the Bollywood movie stars.

There were many beautiful sights seen at the swimming pool. When I saw the red & blue arches in front of the fountains, my camera just knew what to do without being asked. =)

And adjacent to the huge fountain, I captured something (or rather someone) which I deemed very picture worthy. The innocence is a bliss. Take a look:

Then we headed down to the Skate Park and watched the wheelies go!

Buddy Mike & I trying in vain to balance!

It was even better when one of the stunt-cyclists happened to be Leo’s old friend.

Yay! So all of us kept bugging him and his clan to showcase their tricks and stunts for us to catch on camera.

There was some stunt called ‘The Grind’ done on one of the pro-bicycles. Check out everyone preparing & posing to capture the best angle & shot

It was awesome and they were great! Thankfully, they were such sports & agreed to perform again and again until we were satisfied with our photographs. I for one, am definitely satisfied.

Here’s my shot:

Oh well, we learnt lots on photo techniques after the entire field trip until I devised a plan on how to remember a thing or two from the lesson.

Introducing Micheal Augustin….

He’s gonna demonstrate the important tips on photo angles

Haha.. anyway, we managed to capture a few group piccies for memories sake. I had a fright when Lila yelled my name from far just to ask me to enter the picture. =) Sure, I will gurl!
Sree, Lila, Diana, Jess

Coincidentally, we were colour-coordinated.

… in two of my fav colours!

Exam madness

May 15, 2008 by thejessicat

Exams are over and the mid-term fever has subsided.

^_^

Even the results have been returned… well, some of them. So far, our batch only received our Organizational Communication and Copywriting results.

I’m pleased to say that I did well… happy, mom? =)

Anyway, that’s not the point of my entry for today. The point is the following question: Ya know how amazing it is observing the ways people study and revise prior to the exams?

It is.

And trust me, KDU Mass Commnunication students really possess eccentric attributes in their methods of studying.

Check ’em out for yerself:

Notes and last minute (literally!) preparations sprawled over the floor outside the Exam Hall

Crossing of eyes and grinning widely to ensure maximum receptivity of information from notes

Relaxing in a Zen position (with notes) to achieve Nirvana before the exam
*Ohhmmmm…. ohhmmmmm*

Walking around with notes in hand and of course, a fag as well to help during stressed moments

Apart from fagging, singing along with the iPod helps too

And lastly, what can one do but to whine and release tensions before sitting for the paper?

Even the non-mass commers have their high (exam) fever blues~

At last, with our awkward but worthwhile efforts, we made it through the examination week.

*picture removed due to personal request*

Cheers~!

the BEAR necessities

May 13, 2008 by thejessicat

Bears come in all shapes and sizes, and err… expressions too. LoL
Remember when I talked about the Tulan Bear at the library – here? haha

Recently, sweetheart made a bear outta styrofoam for one of his projects and guess what his previous project was? A bear made of butter.

Before anyone thinks that it was a designated assignment, you’re wrong. It was a choice!! A choice to do anything you want made of styrofoam and butter.

And he decided on a bear.
(again)
Umm.. I presume he has a thing for bears? LoL. The 1st Christmas prezzie he gave me back in 2004 when we were still in HighSchool was an off-white teddy bear with a patchwork sewn on its heart. And it has been with me ever since! We still love him just as much =)

Lil Benjie
Yup that’s him. My precious. We even wrapped sweetheart’s PenangFreeSchool tie around his neck =)

But I’m still lovin’ the styro bear!

It was interesting to see the work in progress. I was busy doing my Photo assignment while he was extremely occupied with his styrofoam bear.

And had our share of foolin’ around

Focus..

We had some snacks in between.. behold the Secret calories hidden in the Recipe!

Little by little, the bear came to life!!

Hunny, your bear looks so upset.
What did you do to hurt his feelings?

Lil bear was still upset even the next day when being presented to the lecturer,

No wonder you were upset lil bear!

I sensed that there was something bothering you all this while. Now that you’ve shared with us all, perhaps someone could make him a styrofoam armpit? Please?

Oh well, despite the silly distractions, sweetheart and I managed to complete our assignments:

Photo Communication assignment

Behold, the finished products of sweetheart & I

♥♥♥♥
*love and bear hugs to all*
