….and helllllllloooooo to the new one!!!
What. You actually think I would say goodbye to the Blackberry for good? Pffftt. No way, not ever in the world I will not. Affirmative!
I live and breathe Blackberry, one would say that my BB is already part of my anatomy – albeit a digital one.
It can be my other lung, although I already have 2. Or my other kidney?
No wait, I already have a pair of that too. Ohwell, my other heart!
Ahhyes. My BB is like a constant heartbeat to me. Even as I walk the malls, jog in the park or even take a dump, it would be fixated into the grip of my palm.Yup, a permanent fixture… one that is there to stay for good (and evil)! 😛
So much so that theboyfie and mom reprimanded me with
"KEEP YOUR BERRY IN YOUR POCKET FIRST LAH HAIYOH!!"
I think the only time I ever let go of it is when I'm swimming, taking a shower or involuntarily loosen my grip on it when I change sleeping positions.
Clearly it's with me when I do my revisions too.
(I know my BB usually matches my outfit. That's the whole point!) 😀
So naturally, I did feel a little pinch when I had to say goodbye to my trusty Blackberry Curve 8520 that has been serving me for a good 1 year. If you were wondering, no, there was nothing wrong with it at all.
The only reason why I really wanted to change it was that it did not have built in flash for the camera nor an autofocus mode. Being a photojunkie (sometimes lazy to lug around my DSLR and gear) and very active on my Twitter timeline, I could really use a waayyy better mobile camera.
And finally! Saved up enough to upgrade to a newer one, the Blackberry Bold 9700 aka BB Bold 2 (on the left)
Shot taken just before I sold off my previous BB Curve to a new owner
On a random note, ya know what was really strange? The fact that when my buyer and I met up for the Cash on Delivery (COD) method, he was a young adult that came out from a swanky BMW 5 series walking towards me.
First thing that crossed my mind was… huh? If he could afford that fancy-schmancy pricey ride, why couldn't he afford to buy a brand new Blackberry? Like the BB Torch 9800? What gives? What do you think?
Realizing that it doesn't matter as it was none of my business, I brushed my curiosity aside.
It was already a done deal anyway.
Came back home and had my new Blackberry Bold 2 customized back to red again, here's a piccie of it all done up.
PLEASE IGNORE THE UGLY SHINY FLOWER ON MY BB WALLPAPER
Of all themes, I selected a theme that disallowed me to change the wallpaper on the homescreen -___-"
I picked that theme because it made all my font red in color as well as all the icons, highlights and everything else red. Loves!
But yes, on the downside, this theme had me stick with the girly ANIMATED shiny rose for 4 days before I couldn't stand the living daylight of it.
Doesn't it look so much better with the backlight switched off? 😀
So… needless to say, I switched to another somewhat reddish theme that didn't force me to put a stupid flower on the main screen.
It has been 1 month with my new BB now and I'm proud to say it has kept me very happy throughout. *skips with glee*
oh and a pluspoint, I can *finally* capture memorable pictures in clubs now!
Whoops don't exactly remember this photo being taken. Probably too intoxicated on my last trip to Zouk LOL
Anyway, during my cruise trip with thefockers last week – coming soon, I promise! – I couldn't help to notice that my cousins and I all had funky Blackberries, customized to our liking! 🙂 🙂
So glad I introduced them to my friend Eric of HausofBiB
Yes grrr.. I know he kept changing the name so many times from BlackberryHousing to BerryAddictions to this but yeah, it's the same guy okay peeps? His name is Eric Soong and be sure to look for him if you need to jazz up, bling up or pimp your ugly plain BLACK Blackberry.
Okay that's a wrap for today! Imma head down to Sunway in a bit to attend Peter Pan The Musical which is gonna be happening in Sunway Lagoon Amphitheater! Thank you Nuffnang for the invites 😀 😀 Can't wait to see Peter, Wendy, Tinkerbell, Captain Hook and the rest!
What can I say? Ima Disney girl at heart

Maybe he’s in a type of “berry trafficing chain”, he supplies the underground with berries from hot girls and rich fat old men pay a lot of money to possess such berry. So he can afford a Bimmer, that is.
Hope that explains it to you 😛

How on earth did you manage to change your Bold keypad from black to red??
I got myself a BB Curve 8520 last week — just to see what BlackBerry service is all about. Four days later, I’m sold! Traded in the curve for Bold 9780. So syok ma… Anyway, I hope to read more of your escapades with your new BlackBerry. At least, I can learn a thing or two on how to fully utilize a BlackBerry from reading your stories. Btw, what are you going to call your new Bold? BlinkBerry? CherryBerry? What? 😉
hahahahahaha. Well, had a friend to change it for me. I’ve linked him in this blogpost 🙂
Ohhh u bought the new BB Bold 3?? Sweeet! 😀 I like the new features of it, especially the camera and homescreen interface. It’s rlly pretty.
oh, u wanna read more abt my stories with my Blackberry? Cool, I have written a few more other than this actually. Want me to share it with u? 🙂
P.s- it’s called redberry now! no BLACKberry anymore, but redberry! 😀
Yes — it’s nice. But, I do feel that the speaker on Curve 8520 is so much louder compared to the one on Bold 9780. When using Curve 8520 to make calls, you can get sakit telinga if you put the volume to the max. With, Bold 9780, the volume is man-man. You can hear the other person talking clearly but you definitely would not hear it at sakit-telinga level. But it’s okay actually and I’m generally please with it. This is my first proper smartphone after 5 years of using my old trusty workhorse the Nokia 6230i. Still in top form.
Concerning your article on BB, if I’m not mistaken, you’ve written 3-4 about your experience with BB right?
– DG BB vs Maxis BB (part 1, 2 and 3)
– Rescuing the drowning Berry
– and Goodbye my trusty Berry
If possible, can you do a comparison between Maxis vs Celcom? Perhaps by having a competition involving your Maxis Berry and a friend’s Celcom Berry (if any of your friends are using Celcom). I’m using Maxis but have been wondering whether Celcom is so much better. I can’t use DG although I have a DG number because DG’s coverage up North is not so great. So, I’m left with either Maxis or Celcom.
Anyway, keep up the writing and the drawing! The drawings are hilarious! Very creative of you to use them as your props. 🙂
