Suzuki goes interactive | Aiman Motor

September 17, 2009 by thejessicat
Woots! I’m beginning to feel the hype of the Ramadhan festive season!

Was previously invited to a buka puasa charity dinner with Prince Hotel and now, a Suzuki automobile dealer, Aiman Motor. Lotsa people of all races were there to share the warmth. Looks like Malaysians really exude the muhibbah spirit among races.

point

Lotsa cars were on display in their very bright & spacious showroom in this Petaling Jaya (PJ) branch. They have another branch in Bangsar, and it’s even a place where you could chill!

Anyway, I couldn’t take my eyes off the Suzuki Swift! It’s a adorable and small in size too. Anyhoos, above is a piccie of myself and YingZi camwhoring by the customized mentioned car.

trio

As it wasn’t time for the Muslims to break their fasting period yet, we took some time to walk around the entire showroom. It was huge no doubt, and even had a mini playground, a flat screen TV with lotsa National Geographic & Readers’ Digest periodicals all stashed for our convenience. Heck, there was even a bar for their clients to chill while being serviced.

Talk about being state-of-the-art for an automobile showroom!
rug

As it was quite a big event with VVIPs and directors of huge companies, they made some effort to bring in the theme of Hari Raya. The entire walkway from the entrance to the main showroom was decorated with traditional Malay-inspired rugs – just like the ones where you see in Malay folk villages in the past.

See my head popping out when Jackie was taking a picha

Before we knew it, it was time to grab our morsels. Food was served ala buffet style with lots of scrumptious dishes spoiling us for choice! From appetizers to main courses and even desserts!

app

All types of meat were in abundance such as poultry, fish, beef and even a huge lamb was brought to the table for a live demonstration of slicing & serving on the spot.

lamb

Oh and, no buka puasa session is complete without the roti jala in my opinion. Just like no girl is complete without at least a 100 pairs of heels.

Whoops, I did not just say that!

jala

In conjunction with the auspicious 9th of September 2009 – 09/09/09, this established Suzuki dealer, Aiman Motor decided to launch their newly designed interactive website of aimanmotor.com.

pc

It is a web portal for existing, future and even non-Suzuki car drivers to join. Go checkit out! I find the design pretty damn bright and cheery.

diging

Perfect timing for everything! A website launch, a huge Ramadhan dinner and of course to celebrate the 999 date which happens once in a lifetime. A job well done!

grp

Aight, Imma speed off now lest I get traffic summoned for taking pictures while driving – which is unfortunately, an essential part of my driving habits. God knows why I tend to catch interesting sights and sounds of everything whenever I drive around the city.

driving

DON’T TELL ME YOU DON’T CAMWHORE WHILE DRIVING TOO, EY?
I know people who do, and so do I!

Riot on Merdeka Eve | Ipoh

September 8, 2009 by thejessicat

Our Malaysian Independence Day has always been underrated, so much so that it is even disregarded by many families and youths alike. For me, I feel somewhat fortunate to be brought up with slightly more patriotism running through the family tree

It was kinda disappointing this year though, as Merdeka 2009 clashes with the holy month of Ramadhan and also the fatal epidemic of the Influenza AH1Ni. My face fell when I found out there wasn’t gonna be any grand slam celebration on a huge scale.

crazy

Which means… we’re all in for a quiet Merdeka?
My instincts sealed a ‘NO WAY’ on my forehead.

Our national day aka Merdeka falls on the 31st August and has come a long way since 1957. I’ve always looked forward to Merdeka… not gonna lie here – but mostly due to the public holidays and fireworks display. Yay!

onemsia

This is my 1st time celebrating a different Merdeka; unlike the previous ones which I spent partying away at Merdeka rave and countdown parties in clubs with the fabulous displays of fireworks at the esplanade.

yeeme

Oh by the way, Grandpappy was hospitalized so Aunt Queenie and I made a journey to Ipoh. He’s much better now, if you care to know : )

decor

On the eve of our Independence Day at 11pm, my fingers itched to go shooting again and I didn’t wanna stay home on Merdeka anyway. I begged Goddy, Uncle Mike and mom to take me to Ipoh’s Dataran Bandaraya for a fresh take on the Merdeka perspective.

Goddy and mom obviously stayed in the car as they didn’t fancy gangster hoods by the streets.

journey

When I got there, there was already quite a rowdy assembly of bikers and other brutes yelling away in. I almost chickened out but hey, I chose to be here – and here I shall stay. Armed with my camera (and Uncle Mike) I dived right into the pool of people.

assembly

Thankfully, I wasn’t alone braving the rough and tough crowd. Uncle Mike agreed to tag along (as my bodyguard haha) when I was shooting away through waves of big and intimidating fellas. I apologize in advance as even I myself, was very dissatisfied with the shots I took that night.

Damn, it ain’t easy trying to stay unnoticed to take pictures yet being pushed and shoved like nobody’s business by all those big-sized thugs : (

massive

Anyway, I’ve managed to snap some of the teenagers and other youths in action. Little did I know that they were on fire! Their patriotic spirit was impressively ablaze; even more than the… okay nevermind.

celebratelocalyouth

The countdown was a riot!
Almost every one was raging around and jumping on top of vehicles to wave the Jalur Gemilang – our national flag. The blaring of horns from other parked cars and bikes was just deafening and ghetto youths were seen running all over the place creating a huge racket on the streets.

jalurgemilang

I think I became hearing-impaired in 5 seconds. Gah.
No tampons to stuff into my ears that’s why. (If you’ve watched Final Destination 4, you’ll know what I’m talking about)

crowd

I didn’t dare take pictures of those elderly gangsters manning their heavily modded cars, lest they whack the guts outta me. But it was astonishing to know how ingenious they were.

No fireworks this year?
So what?

They don’t give a flying rat’s ass… because they made it all happen!

burstin

Yup. These pyromaniacs modified some old cars, twiddled with the spark plug and made their double exhaust pipes a raging flamethrower.

exhaust

I reckon they created the combustion by using some flaming exhaust kits or exhaust flame systems. Look at the inferno go! However, our eardrums were popping with the loud bursting sounds of the sparks. Ouch, painful but the show must go on!

boom

So yeah… while most Malaysians were celebrating Independence Day sleeping at home, decorating trains or having houseparties, my Merdeka was spent with a bunch of hooligans, thugs and young school dropouts in the ghetto community.

boys

Despite being a little fearful in the beginning, I’m relieved as they aren’t exactly very malevolent. Sure, they may not fit the bill of the upper crust or cream of the society and most had already picked up smoking habits in elementary school but who am I to judge?

They are, in many ways just as wholesome as any of us are : )

twinkle
Were you sleeping on Merdeka eve?

Coming home??

April 22, 2009 by thejessicat

It’s only been three weeks since I set my foot in the city – KL. But the sights of Penang still runs around my little forlorn head. Don’t get me wrong, I love it here. The peeps I work with are fab and my friends here are awesome.

Shot this whilst having supper in Murni, SS2

Life here has been hustling and bustling. Likewise, the peeps. For everything else, the queues never seemed so long, the traffic is always in gridlocks and the all the highways are but a walk in the park. Despite so, I’m settling down relatively well here.

But some things never change.
And that is – home.

In my lil hidey crib.

Shot on the very night I was packing to leave
Cried buckets of tears.

I don’t mean to go all rhetoric or whatnot but… for those kiddos (youths lah) who are at home now yearning for absolute freedom, think again. Don’t yet immaturity overrule you. You’ll not only miss home but you’ll miss the company and the familiarity back there. And trust me, it sucks despite the fact that you’re livin’ life like an independent free spirit and soul like I am.

And here I am at 4.29am in the cold morning hearing the pitter-patter of raindrops against my neighbour’s awning. Still awake – without mom to nag me for bedtime as always. Someone please nag me to sleep? Ducclebears♥ nagged me to sleep already but ended up falling asleep before me 😛 As we speak, I am thinking of those 1000watt smiles my maid has and her shrill voice. I used to be exasperated by the sound of it, but I wish I could hear her squeal for no good reason again.

Adding to that, I’m blessed to have such good friends. Those chunka funky monkays are my life and what keeps me busy through the days and nights in Penang. Oh but wait.. guess what?

I AM coming home for the weekend!
Pretty corny but, home is where the heart is.

Gahhh. Can’t believe I said that.

what's next?

December 4, 2008 by thejessicat

Guess who’s back? and no, it’s not Eminem Slim Shady.

My finals are FINALLY over which accounts to – no more mugging!

Excellent!

The best part is, I’ve got my car back after waiting for so friggin’ long. Sadly, it ain’t the car that I aimed for but oh well, I’m not gonna be in Malaysia next year so.. why bother getting a new one?

Photobucket
ohyeaaaaaahh babeh~
Jess is back on the roads!!

My car was once beyond repair after the road accident [here], but I guess the car-people proved us all wrong. They managed to turn it back the right way up to make it fully workable again. So I should be happy, no?

Unfortunately now, my car disallows me of driving more than 70KM/H. -_________-“

Photobucket

Can you flippin’ believe that? The moment I knew, it was like mud thrown on my face. Which youth in this pacing world drives slower than 70KM/H? It seriously is a huge contrast for someone who drives at 120KM/H on a highway.

T_T

Photobucket
how i wish this sleek white baby was mine
(frame also nevermind)
*dreams*

It was my first time on the left lane and and I remember being sandwiched by a “kereta buruk” in fronta me and an “ah-pekk” behind me while other drivers whiz past me on the right-lane which was once MY LANE. =/
*sigh*

Regardless of driving at whatever speed, I could almost smell the breeze of freedom hitting against my face as I cruise through the roads back home

Photobucket
Don’t ask me how I took this picture. You won’t be pleased.
=P

As of now, I’ve got a whole lot to do on my checklist :

Photobucket

and so much more!

The gods of Irony has spoken again; I’m supposed to be free and easy after the final examination but my schedule is bursting at its pages.

Wheeeeee I’m so excited!

But I promise to keep yall posted!
(as always)
^_^

Photobucket

Photobucket
I don’t know which part of the car this is

My car was very badly damaged and gosh the shitload of expenses involved is enough to whack me harder than the pain in my head

apparently, the tyre burst, the rims came out from the tyre, my door can’t be opened, the headlights smashed, my entire drivers side was rammed inside

Just came back from the police station
Photobucket
still doesn’t stop me from blogging (although on paper)

Thanks mom for the pictures of the accident site
Thanks Benjie and Edvin for being there for me in times of crisis

My concussion feels really really bad now.
