SINGAPORE ROCKS MY SOCKS episode 2

Hurrah! I’m back and successfully unpacked my luggage. Believe me, I took a considerable amount of time to get everything back into place, albeit having mom chewing my ears off prior to that.

Anyway, I’ll be playing santa after today. Bought lotsa lil gifts for my babes!! Trust me, don’t freak out when you see my purchases [here] To some, it may be nothin’ to them.. but for others it might make them go @_@

Boom! We were all just about to head out for shoppinggggggg~!

Yes, we all had to take the bus. It’s more cost efficient than the cabs anyway. Well, perfect for sight-seeing all around town, no?

One place that’s hard to miss in Singapore is obviously the busy city area – Orchard Road. They have agazillion malls and outlets to eat and shop to one’s heart content.

It took me more than a day to achieve satisfaction of checking out the entire place – even so, I couldn’t finish the entire stretch!

There were throngs of people at every zebra crossing. It’s seriously so different in Malaysia whereby everyone crosses the road at their whims and fancy; no regards for safety or whatnot. But here, pedestrians ONLY cross at designated areas.

Their buildings come in all shapes and sizes and NAMES! ahahaha there was one which was called – Wheelock Place. I reckon it’s supposed to be a happy place; as apt as its name depicts.

Remember the pyramid which I took of the Heneiken bottles during my KL trip?
Well, this is a pyramid of the coke bottles.

Don’t you just wanna poke ONE (just ONE i promise) bottle and see what happens?

But before that, I’d prepare running shoes and a sack to hide in.

What attracted us was this elderly painter by the street. His hands and i-have-no-idea-what-its-called-but-it-looks-like-charcoal thingy were deftly scouring the canvas and producing fine quality works of art.

I suddenly feel so inferior after watching his masterpiece in motion

Caught sight of a rather icky (but somehow I sense that it tastes awesome) looking gellato ice-cream. Assuming that this is my fave flavour – Cookies&Creme, I snapped a picture of it.

Does it somehow look like faeces?

ANYWAY.

Without any specific mode of transport of our own, we obviously had to walk and walk and walk AND walk! Well, I’ll bet my bottom dollar that by the end of my Singapore trip, I’d probably lose 10KGs. *hints at God*

Yes, I was a weeee bit exhausted.

With no geographical talents whatsoever, we relied on each other as our GPS and walking maps.

And somehow made a flippin’ big round and ended up here again.

Our next outing was at Bugis! It was fun taking the skytrain there. Though a long journey, it was exciting nonetheless. So much to see and to people-watch ^_^

And belive me, the following picture may look a tad disgusting to one’s eye but it’s Shangri-La to the tastebuds! Sometimes, meals never look as palatable asd it looks but it sure as hell tastes marvelous!

Toldya, doesn’t look anywhere near tantalizing, right?

On another night, we went out to catch the fireworks to usher the new year of 2009. Strange as it may sound but I’ve never ever been to the Esplanade before. Yeah sure, we have one in Penang but my foot nor so much as a strand of my hair has ever made its mark there before.

And off we went to Clarke Quay, the acclaimed popular place for partying – by the huge river of Singapore! It wowed me as to how many clubs there were and the crowd was crazy.

But, I didn’t go into any of them.. clubs to me now are likened to work. The clubs are, to me a workplace back in Penang. T_T

So I’d rather sight-see thank you very much

No gurl can ever be tired of shopping hauls or shopping marathons or shopping sprees or GODLIKE SHOPPING! woots! However, the power of purchase can only be achieved with the power of dollar bills. I guess I’l just settle for window shopping for tonight

What i absolutely despise is waking up in the early morning for class and whilst in the midst of driving there, an sms comes in to announce that class is cancelled for the day.

now, whattheflip is that??? -__-
So here I am, early in the morning NOT STILL ASLEEP (like I’m supposed to) but rather, wide awake preparing some assignments.

As the teaser depicts, episode 4 is about a muscial that I’ve created,
aptly named the Ah-Bern Poppins!

Jessica and Sharlyn met up in MidValley for a game of bowling, to determine who is entitled for the VIP tickets for the AhBern Poppins Musical. The one which has the most number of strikes will emerge as the winner.

So, let the games begin!

But alas, the both of us had the same amount of strikes.

So, we decided to share the love and go together, that’s us on our longest journey for the much anticipated modern-classic musical.

And through fate and destiny, Ah-Bern Poppins met the love of his life – the famous Mary Poppins atop a rooftop in London overlooking the Big Ben!

Unfortunately, Mary Poppins was a husband dominator. She dragged him around and across the globe to everywhere she flew to, and even when her tiny umbrella can’t carry the both of them.

So Ah-Bern Poppins couldn’t stand Mary anymore. So he mary-ied another woman and another woman and another woman behind Mary’s back. (pun intended)

Kay Elle Episode 3!

Singapore Episode 2 flooding the next post! PROMISE!

But today, it’s time to continue the Kay Elle episode I owe yall. Yes, with my couzzies pestering me to publish this first.. I can’t help but to stop them from nagging XP

Today was something like a family day. Not family, FAMILY day of course.. but a day spent with itsy bitsys of the focker family.

Before I begin, this is Lyss (right) and I. ^_^

missing ya babe! Glad we met since…. Err.. Chinese New Year?! ROFL We had plenty to talk and gossip about ey? *winks* LOL

And over a cuppa coffee, nothin’ beats it. *hugs*

Our dinner was in Pancake House International, Josh happened to join us as well. The food there was pretty good! Hmm.. but somehow I prefer my fave Paddington House of Pancakes!

As our movie ‘Quarantine’ was scheduled really late, we headed down to Bukit Bintang street for some shisha. For those not in the know, it’s a kind of aromatic and flavoured way of puffing in the Middle East.

And gawd, shisha-ing before ‘Quarantine’ was really a horrid, horrid decision. I felt like puking. Have u watched it? That movie is already capable of making anyone nauseate, let alone after our shisha. *grumbles*

Oh and yay! My Christmas present from the ambulance ^_^

Barcelona was next for the night.

And it was jam-packed with fun and party people. Couzzie Meng and Shaun’s friends were there too!

The more the merrier! But while waiting for our turn to go in, I camwhored with the Heineken Christmas tree =)

Strangely, we had THE GODFORSAKEN MOST EXPENSIVE MAMAK IN THE FRIGGIN HUGE-ASS WORLD! -_-“

Did you know how much a nasi lemak in Stevens cost?

Yeah. 8 bucks! I could get ANY nasi lemak for the price of 1.50 bucks! Hahaha. Seriously!

The worst part was the very next day when we got home. We were locked outside for a couple of hours! *stares directly Couzzie Meng*

How does it feel like to burn in the 1pm sun and at the same time have your bladder almost giving way? Hellish.

Goodbye Penang!!!

woooootss!!!

Finally touched down in the Singapore yesterday! I’ve never been this excited in a long time – well yeah as you can prolly guess, it’s my maiden trip down to the Merlion City.

And mom, goddy & uncle Mike, I know you’re reading (as usual) I’m doin great here! Having so much awesome fun already eventhough it’s only day ONE! ^_^
