Leaving Australia a heavy heart; I’m now on the Malaysian soil once again.

October 7, 2011 by thejessicat

I know I haven't been updating for quite a number of days now. Haven't been really in the best of mood.

So the 8 hour flight back home wasn't pleasant – at all.

Spent my time sleeping, crying, listening to some Dub & wishing the time wouldn't fleet by so slowly.

It's Day #2 in Kuala Lumpur now; 4000 miles away and 3 hours behind Australian time.

Yes, I'm back in my homeland Malaysia and trying not to feel miserable.

Thing is, I love Malaysia. There's nothing wrong with coming back to KL at all. In fact, ever since I've returned, my schedule has been fully booked for the next few days till mid November. Truckloads of appointments, things to do and events to attend.

Back to my busy life once more, I reckon.

Shot during the few hours I had left with my buddies before I left Australia

I made a few love hearts for some of my buddies with a personalized message for them.

Most of them of which I doubt I'll ever see again in the future 🙁 🙁 They are amazing, if I have not put it out there.

Just miserable because I really miss the other life I lived back there in Australia, so much so till I call it home.

Just some of the buncha Aussiemates I'll miss dearly

The rest weren't around at the time of this picture!

Leaving Australia feels like I'm leaving a massive fraction of my life behind, although I had only spent a total of 6-7 months there as compared to the lifetime I spent in Malaysia. It made a huge impact on me, you bet.

It really, really did.

And leaving it all behind hurts.

It really, really does.

It gave me new experiences that I could only dream of having, brought so much laughter and sillyfun in my life, found me a new meaning of friendship, taught me heaps of things I had no clue about, opened my eyes to new perspectives and most importantly, spawned a love so pure and beautiful that made me believe in fairytales once more.

Why did you think I went back to Australia for the 2nd time?

It was worth it.

Being forced to eat Vegemite by my mates, on camera! Vegemite : It’s an Aussie thing.

July 29, 2011 by thejessicat

To be extremely honest, I’ve never seen/taste/smell/ate Vegemite in my entire life.

Until I came to Australia.

Bardha, Cleefy and I in the kitchen on the night of the challenge

This is how it all began.

One fine day, Konzy and Cleefy decided to ask me a million dollar question.

“Have you tried Vegemite before?”

My answer was an obvious “no”.

However, I’ve heard some pretty horrid stuff about it; that it tasted vile, disgusting and nasty on your tastebuds. Then again, Cleefy insisted I had some, regardless of what I’ve heard.

Allow me to quote him “you haven’t experienced Australia if you leave without Vegemite”.

Looks like a creepy Vegemite ad, no? 😛

He proposed I eat it in front of the camera so that I could always remember the “Australian goodness of Vegemite”. Fair enough. So I decided to take up the challenge of the infamous yucky Vegemite.

Let the camera roll!

One night before we headed out clubbing, Cleefy brought me a jar of Vegemite

& had it wrapped in a cute blue ribbon too!

I was extremely hesitant after unwrapping it but my mates were pretty persistent.

Fine fine fine. I’ll do it!

Here’s the short video I made. Enjoy it!

Hahaha. Hope you liked it! So there, my 1st moments with Vegemite, added with laughter, nasty facial contortions and friendship encapsulated in a 6 minute video 🙂

Now, everytime I think of Australia or crave for Vegemite, this video will do the trick!

Ahoy mateys! Arrrr. Vegemite has arrived.

How am I ever gonna forget that?

The next time ANY of you come to Malaysia, I’ll do the exact same thing for yall – not with Vegemite, but with Durians instead. *evil laughter*

Thank you Cleefy bear!

Now that I’ve finished blogging this entire post and editing the VLOG, I’m totally up for some. Only thing that’s stopping me is…. I can’t seem to find my Vegemite.

Who has stolen my jar from me!?  Identify yourself!!

THE worst, most horrible experience of a flight ever! But on a happier note, I can haz arrived Sydney :)

April 25, 2011 by thejessicat

I'm actually relieved I managed to catch the plane to Sydney

There was a series of epic moments that made me fully convinced that I was going to miss this flight!

I left home (a friend's crib) at 9.30am in the morning to adjourn to the airport.

I chartered Jetstar's domestic flight from Melbourne to Sydney

After getting dropped off at Oakleigh, I took a train ride to Southern Cross station then a skybus to my terminal at Melbourne Airport. I arrived at noon sharp – was proud of meself for being early!

Checked in and zip-a-dee-doo-dah was in a jolly mood. Sat in Hudson's Coffee sippin' a cuppa and lost track of time. Oh and the barista had to remake my coffee 4 times, being sucha douchebag for repetitively getting my order wrong LOL

Already late, I ran all the way to the departure hall entrance and was stopped by security, as the censor kept beeping each time I walked back and forth!

I had to remove almost everything one by one – it felt like I was practically undressing myself in front of everyone!

So off came my hairband, earrings, rings, bangles, buckles, zippers, necklace, watch, belt, anklet, shoes.. etc but the darned thingy STILL wouldn't stop beeping!

Hmm.. I wonder if they would make me take out my nipple piercing

or clit piercing if I ever had one LOLOL.

Anyway, long story short (this part took forever I swear), we found out what the culprit was.

It was the metallic steel-like clasp at the front of my bra.

HAH. But I was adamant not to strip any further so they let me off the hook

Note to self : don't ever wear fancy bras while traveling by air.

I then continued running all the way to the next counter and another douchebag made me fill in some departure card despite my flight being a domestic one! (By right, I didn't need to)

I was a tad confused but whatevs, I panicked just by looking at the time and did as I was told.

So when I finally finished filling in the card (some passengers took ages to fill theirs and I was hovering around them like vultures ROFL) and rushed back to the counter, the man said I didn't need to fill it in and could just walk straight in.

Argghh! No thank you for making me even later for my flight!

By the time I ran non-stop for approximately 150 meters to Gate 7, the gates was already shut – as expected.

But seeing that a frantic girl was running like a psychopath escapee, drenched in perspiration and screaming hysterically from 20km away, "WAAAAAIITT FORRRR MEEEEEEE DON'T GO!!!! I'M HERE, I'M HERE!!" they re-opened the gates for me!

Holy smokes, thank goodness!

And here I am safely in Sydney after that nightmare.

On board the train heading for my much anticipated Easter Dinner!

Coincidentally, the tee says exactly what I was feeling; highly irked and irritable throughout my 1.5 hour flight.

WHY?

1. Squabbling toddlers in front of me

2. A restless, crying infant to my right with his father singing some (rather disturbing, sounded more like a satan worship song LOL) lullabies in desperate attempt to cajole his baby

3. An inconsiderate woman elbowing me umpteen times while playing MahJong on her iPad.

For chrissakes, it's IPAD MAHJONG NOT REAL MAHJONG your frenzied arm movements is not appreciated!

kthxbai.
