The Sunday Times XLI: Sights, sounds, thoughts, adventures & eats! My week in a flash ♥

November 3, 2013 by thejessicat

Hey peeps! It’s been forever since I’ve last blogged in my personal log of The Sunday Times.

Well not forever, just over two weeks. But somehow, I know you guys prefer my personal updates and ramblings rather than the glitzy glam ones or the adverts & reviews I write.

Or… not? Hehe.

Just one of the styleshots I snapped for The Wild Things

I’ve received some emails over the weekend from you peeps telling me you love the “fun to read” and “interesting” way I write the ads.

Thanks so much! I must be doing something right then 🙂

Maklumlah, sekiranya seorang penulis tidak mampu mencoret artikel yang menarik mahupun menawan, lebih baik kalau mengucapkan selamat tinggal kepada kerjayanya, bukan?

Gorgeous Lamborghini Gallardo, don’t you think?

I was back in Ipoh recently to visit the family. Heck, I haven’t gone home in ages due to all the commitments as well as events here in KL which I had to be present for. Crying

It dawned upon me that granny is getting old, and she’s the only grandparent I have left. Not surprisingly, I just decided, screw it, I’ll just postpone all my appointments that weekend and make a trip just to see them.

Didn’t regret doing that at all.Kiss

Took a sneaky picture of the three very important, wise ladies in my life.

My godmom, my granny and my mother. What would I do without them?

We made the weekend count! Goddy treated us to a buffet brunch at Impiana Hotel, Ipoh.

Totally a cheat day for me. Somehow, I always end up cheating when I’m back home with the family – every meal is just too goooood to resist.

Here are some of the food included in the buffet spread:

Impiana Hotel had quite a good selection of food on display but that wasn’t all. The outdoor patio boasted a live cooking station where your Roti Jala, Dim Sums, hot noodle soups were made right in front of you.

Managed to have a short conversation with the F&B managers just before I left; they are actually in the midst of increasing the variety and diversifying the menu! Looks like there will be more to come soon.

As much as I love being back home, it also meant that I wouldn’t have access to the gym.

But hey, *tip* who needs kettlebells when you could just fill up a giant 5-litre container?

Before I knew it, my weekend was over and I hurled my arse back to the city.

If you’re following me on Twitter, you would know that I’ve just got a new boss! He’s the head of Digital Creative Strategies and I now report directly to him. Like clockwork, my passion towards my job sky-rocketed.

Desmond isn’t only funny, jovial and affable, but he’s also very ambitious, very meticulous and has a very, very impressive vision. He’s the type that insist on getting things done pronto and with him onboard, I now feel I have someone way more experienced than I am to look up to and to hold in high regard.

Long story short, my new boss has, very quickly, made me learn so much, groomed us all to be better at our jobs, imparted a positive working attitude in us and made the working environment much more fun! With his guidance, new directions has been so much clearer for me in my pursuit.

I know some day, I will be in his position… and I long to lead a team just the way he leads us – or even better! 😉

Some of the internal changes. I now have a new desk and wasted no time in decorating my new workspace.

I’m sitting very near the Art Director! Helps a lot as I work very closely with our team of designers.

Haha. We no longer have to shout across the room whenever we wanted to say something.

And then there are birthdays in the office.Cool

I know I can’t say this enough but, it’s someone’s birthday in the office everyday. Well, almost.

I can’t remember the last time I ate a birthday cake or sang a birthday song every week or so.

Happy Birthday to one of our Web Developers, Akil!

We’re alike in many ways. Let’s start with.. the glasses. LOL

Three’s never a crowd. Meet Ben. Our Art Director.

Wait – why does it look like someone just photoshopped the exact same pair of glasses onto our faces?

Lunch outings with the colleagues. We eat our regular neighbourhood food every other day, but some days, we take a trip to the mall instead.

This week was Coffee Bean. I don’t think I’ve featured any Coffee Bean food before, so I suppose I will today.

 Banana Muffin

Tuna Pie

There’s plenty of room for improvement in the looks department but the taste sure made up for it!

Tuna Mayo Sandwich

Grilled Chicken.

Living in Malaysia, we sure do have our fair share of holidays. Actually, more of a lion’s share of holidays.

And Tuesday was a national holiday – AGAIN. But hey, I’m not complaining! Tongue Out

Jessicat wears: Striped top by Forever 21 | High-waisted skirt in pink by Cotton On |

Snapback cap by OBEY | Accessories from a fashion bazaar in SG| High-top sneakers in purple by PUMA

Loving my new kicks from PUMA. Aren’t they mighty fine?

Oooh and I just bought bright yellow shoelaces to give it a little bit of contrast.

Pointless selfie.

Dined in a Thai restaurant for some authentic Thai food for a change. Sealed

Fa-Ying by Rama V in Paradigm. Mall was our pick. Here are some photos!

See what I told you about it being cosy? 🙂

I love the background! The interior decor is really, really fine.

Fried Spring Rolls

Spicy Squid

Grilled Salmon with Thai coriander sauce

Chicken Satay

The food was just beckoning me to dig in!

After my visit, I found Fa-Ying to be a very state-of-the-art yet cosy restaurant with excellent choice of traditional and modern Thai delicacies. The ambience and setting were equally as delightful as I found their food to be.

The waiters and managers were extremely pleasant, courteous and friendly too. I was very pleased with their impeccable service!

The public holiday also gave me the necessary break I needed for retail therapy.

Check out the new apparel I bought from H&M! Yes, if you haven’t already noticed, I’m into cats.

Even my online moniker is a giveaway.

Didn’t end up buying this silly beanie. I never understand beanies.

They make me look like I’ve undergone brain surgery.

Some people look cute in beanies but I absolutely don’t.

Got to spend time with my furkid Chivas at home. Kiss

Lunch hour with my girl Sarah

Also lots of shopping at a sample sale preview!

Some time later in the week, I checked out a new burger joint in Damansara Perdana called BurgerByte.

This outlet was previously called Tam’s Place, which is your average Malay restaurant. But after a month or so of renovations, a different concept was born. Wink

The whole lot of us! Below are some of their meals.

Chili Dog

Chicken & cheese burger with egg

 Beef and cheese burger.

Though I’m not exactly a fan of burgers and hotdogs (sorry, dear Americans! 🙁 ) I could tell that my colleagues were somehow satisfied with it. They preferred the beef burger over its chicken counterpart though.

You can also order a ‘Naked Burger) – yes that’s what it’s called – that comes without the burger bun but only the patty and vegetable sides. Yeah I know, how interesting!

Hi! Another pointless selfie break.

Received very pretty gifts from La Senza. Loving their new lacy undies!

Gotta check them out! They’re so pretty.

When night falls, I clock into work again. This time for my night job.

Don’t worry, I’m not a prostitute LOLOLOL. Welcome to my other home – the gym.

The road to Olympia might sound a tad far-fetched, but nothing should ever be too unachievable if you put your heart and soul into it. All good things come to those not who wait, but those who work for it.Laughing

Before IBFF’s Figure Olympia though, there are always other figure championships to step my foot into first. I know I’ll get there after strenuous dedication, discipline, commitment and hard work. I may not be there yet but I am closer to where I was yesterday.

On a less serious note, guess who’s on TV giving the new SONY Sports MP3 player a test? 😛 😛

It’s waterproof, wire-free and has a built in MP3 player too.

Finally! No more messy wires to get in the way of my routines.

 Seronoknya menggunakan gadjet terbaru mereka!

Staying steadfast into this journey also requires me to eat clean. I draw my inspiration from other female figure competitors around the world.

That being said, mealprepping is the easiest way to achieve this. Like every edition of The Sunday Times, I’m gonna be showing you some of this week’s mealpreps and cooking.

Also gave this Organic Raw Chocolate Bar by Beond Raw Bio Organic a try.

Walaupun aku tidak menggemarinya terlalu sangat, tetapi ianya cukup memuaskan.

Can’t say I like it but this energy bar tastes pretty decent to me. Not sweet at all (obviously) and a tad sticky.

Gave the McDonald’s G Wrap a try. Doesn’t cut it at all, to me.

Tastes awful with so little chicken in it.

Even my neighbourhood kebab and chicken/beef wrap store gives me a bigger bang for my buck.

Maybe I’ll give it one more try.

Unwinding with a quick shisha fix after a long day of work with the mates.

Before I go, let me leave you with an interesting discovery.

If you’re wondering, I was helping a friend check why her poodle doesn’t seem to be able to learn any new tricks yet. I typed in ‘Why does my poo-” and smarty pants Google started to suggest all these poop related questions based on common algorithms and search results.

I can only imagine that there are people around the world who actually asks these questions haha! Crying

Sad Sorry for such a late post! I’m aware it’s not Sunday yet – this is for last week!

The Sunday Times XXX: Sights, sounds, adventures & eats! My week in a flash ♥

July 7, 2013 by thejessicat

This week marks my first week as a 24 year old! Boy, oh boy, do I feel old.

Exactly a decade ago, to sum it up, I was an acne-ridden, hip-hop lovin' streetkid, a high school nerd and an angsty teenager still trying to find herself.

Not that I'm any much closer to finding myself just yet anyway. *shrugs* The journey of self-discovery, to me, is always a perpetual one.

Guess I'll never ever discover who I really am yet. Well that keeps things interesting, doesn't it?

The month of July will be a month full of birthday celebrations for me.

Full blog post on my birthday celebrations will be up at the end of this month!

Oh and, to publicly answer the one question I've been getting over and over again this year –

Why are you not throwing a big birthday party like all your previous years, Jess? blush

I have my personal reasons for this. I guess I can only reveal the answer two years later – no, I'm not joking. It's a legit reason. So far, only a small circle of family and close friends know why, and I plan to keep it that way.wink

Ianya akan disimpan sebagai rahsia buat masa ini!

Posted my last video as a 23 year old, just before I turned 24:

Jun 30, 2013 | Goodbye dear 23 year old girl! Looking forward to a brand new year for me! 😀 by imthejessicat on Keek.com

Anyway, let's get on with the weekly wrap-up, shall we? smiley

I went hiking up my usual BJ Hill @ Bukit Jambul

Next stop – Penang Hill!

Couldn't resist taking this photo of buddyAdrian and a dog in the woods.

He's such a dog whisperer – I don't even! surprise Dogs are really a man's best friend.

'

Being back in Penang drove me to Milkshake Factory @ Gurney Plaza again.

No thanks to bestieVince as I was trying to resist it! angry *dagger stares* I gave in, eventually.

Mungkin ko nih nak berat badanku bertambah? Entahlah.

Okay, fine. You know I love it, don't you? Thanks for the awesome milkshake devil xo

Back in KL, I was booked for a food review session at The Steakhouse KL @ Changkat Bukit Bintang.

Jul 2, 2013 | At The Steakhouse KL about to taste their amazing dinner menu. Can't wait to share the best of what they have! by imthejessicat on Keek.com

Thank you, Mr. Werner Kuhn and team for having me at your luxurious restaurant tonight.

Full blog feature up next!

Silly convex mirror times with the buddies heart Photobomb level: honking car LOLOL

We had a small cosy dinner gathering at In-House @ Publika

More of what happened and a short feature in another post!

Okay time for some kittyphotos of the week. wink Mew!

Plotting his diabolical plan to take over the world.

"I hate mommy's cuddles."

"On second thought, maybe it's not that bad after all."

"But what did I do wrong this time, mommy? I swear it wasn't me!"

"I haz no legs. I'm just a black furry blob with a tail."

Okay that's all for now LOL.

Mid-week, I checked out Tony Roma's Steakhouse Restaurant to taste their "Tony's World Famous Ribs."

Combo of their Bountiful Beef Ribs and Grilled Salmon with a serving of fresh vegetables.

Rating: ★★★★★

The taste of rich beef complemented with Tony Roma's own original barbeque sauce did the trick.

The  meat was just right too. It was tender and fell off the bone with the merest, gentle slice of my knife.

I would say I prefer these ribs to the ones served at TGI Friday's. Then again, it is a close fight though.

The salmon was nothing short of perfection too.

With a hint of dill and lemon enhanced by the open fire grill, this one's a winner.

Their only fallback is probably the house bread that came as a starter.

It tasted fine, but the texture was slightly on the chewy side.

On Saturday my fave partycrew and I were on our way to somewhere… secret.

Yup, it's the annual Carlsberg's 'Where's the Party?'

The location isn't so secret anymore by now; it was held in MAEPS @ Serdang.

Full blog feature up soon. A very honest account. Wait for it.indecision

We had our own little afterparty/late dinner at The Castle Restaurant, KL

Rating: ★★★☆☆

It served a standard fare of Middle Eastern food; though I must recommend the Spicy Shish Tawook and the Lamb Mandy. The latter was served with long-grain kabssa rice. Shisha there was fine with an equally good variety of flavours. yes

The Chicken Kebab though, left a little to be desired. It was too bland and the texture was somehow a little soluble and for some reason, disintergrated too quickly. It was oddly, really wet with hardly any meat that I could chew on. The service was a little slow, but the waiters were amazingly friendly.

After a late night, I don't know how I managed to drag myself out of bed the next morning

for my session with the Bosu. It was akin to dragging a full-grown water buffalo out of a mudhole. indecision

Thursday night's TRX + back and bicep day was fine. Until the next morning, that is.

Good lord. I could hardly raise my arm to switch on the lights in the bathroom as I woke up.

Chilling with my favorite barbell after an intense leg day workout.

And of course, the usual eats. My post workout-meals:

Wheat bran, cornflakes and blueberries in milk!

Chicken breast slices, carrots, spinach,

aubergine and onions stir-fried with olive oil and chia seeds.

Snacking on a fruit platter of oranges, green apples, red grapes and organic pumpkin kernels.

Eggs – in three different variants.

Which do you prefer? Hardboiled, scrambled or as a omelette? wink

Clean eating is the way to go! Have you had your greens today? wink

Before I knew it, Sunday came knocking on my door! cool

Pardon me, as I groove to some 70's disco music.

I know, how very unbecoming. But sometimes, the weekend does this to me.

Jul 7, 2013 | Nothing like a #weekend fix of #70s #music. Anyone remembers KC and the Sunshine Band? That's the way, baby 😉 by imthejessicat on Keek.com

Parked myself at Milk and Butter @ Bangsar and hung out with my boy Chivas before the girls arrived.

When they did, we all had an amazing afternoon over equally amazing food heart

Can't wait to review this restaurant – blog feature up soon!

Sunday evenings were spent in the sun curling up with my favorite book by the poolside.

You can see how worn out the novel looks already! Sorry for the candid shot, I wasn't ready for the photo.

At night, was Bob and Gouya's pool party!

It was fun skewering the kebabs, chicken thighs, onions, tomatoes, capsicums and more.

Helped the boys out in preparing their Middle Eastern food and firing the grill!

I had a great weekend but I was a tad upset about not being able to watch Tydi back in Penang tonight.

He's performing as we speak! frown Right now, at QEII On the Sea, Church Street Pier, Penang in celebration with the Georgetown World Heritage Site Celebration.

What's the significance of the day, you ask?

Tomorrow marks the 5th anniversary of Georgetown being enlisted as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Penang, my love, you truly deserve it. heart

Tomorrow will also be a Public Holiday in Penang too. Enjoy your day off, fellow Penangites!

What a fantastic start of a new week no? By sleeping in and spending an extra day of leisure.

Remind me why I moved away to the city, Kuala Lumpur, again? frown Hahaha.

Much love,

kissJessicat

The Sunday Times XXIX: Sights, sounds, adventures & eats! My week in a flash ♥

June 30, 2013 by thejessicat

I'm back from Penang! Yes, again. LOL

And no, I don't travel back and forth every week. It just so happens that I did again this weekend.

My Superman says hello.

Also, I'm so thankful that the haze epidemic has finally subsided!

It was beginning to take a toll on everyone (especially Singaporeans) and I even experienced a little shortage of breathing.

Woke up one Sunday morning to this.

Konzy bought a mask for us just in case. Made a Keek video about the haze too!

Jun 24, 2013 | The #haze in KL #Malaysia is getting from bad to worse! I'm smelling #smoke, dust and ashes even indoors! by imthejessicat on Keek.com

I don't know what got into us, but we decided to go to Port Klang to celebrate my cousin's birthday.

For those not in the know, Port Klang was officially the suburb with the worst haze condition, according to the Air Pollutant Index (API). Couzzie Colin returned from New Zealand and was adamant on having Klang seafood no mater what LOL. surprise

Oh well. *shrugs*

No matter, at least I got to reunite with couzzie Colin whom I've not seen since I was a kid of nine.

Briefly meeting each other when we were both drop dead drunk two years ago does not count as a reunion!

And ultimately, we got to eat delicious, fresh seafood too.

Klang is touted as THE MUST-GO PLACE for seafood here. It was my first time that night!

Don't even get me started on what we ordered at Restoran Ah Lee!

Ok, fine, I'll try.

I think, to my best memory, we had two different types of giant crabs (marmite and spicy), hot Grouper fish soup, prawns, two different types of clams (garlic and marmite), yam and dried chili frogs (also known as "spring chicken' to the Chinese).

Came home to see my furkid perched on the kitchen counter.

That ass, son. That ass.

Saturday saw me attending the finale of the UBER DJ competition by UBER.MEN at Zouk Club KL.

The final four contestants!

I was so blown away by DJ Marshall (left).  He had the talent, the attitude and versatility to boot!

After the event was over (DJ Marshall and DJ Wicked proceeded to the grand finals!), I realized that I was so glad to be invited that night. smiley

Half expecting to watch a bunch of newbies work the turntables with mediocre skills, I was proven so, so wrong. Attending tonight's event made me see that there was really so much more to DJing than just standing there "posing with headphones", "pressing some buttons" and "looking cool".

So many technicalities, sequencing, effects, mixing, vibe and actual skills were required to emerge as tonight's winner. I learnt about techniques like beat balancing and scratching.

The term "anybody can be a DJ" coined by people who don't know the field of expertise any better must be exiled! LOL

Allow me to digress.

Likewise, the similar verbal diarrhoea by the uninformed saying "anybody can be a photographer", "anybody can be a blogger" and "anybody can be a model". Why don't you try think of it in a strictly professional sense, put it into practice and see how you fare?blush

Anybody can be a janitor? No, I absolutely cannot. Can you?

With your logic, it's just like saying aybody can be an astronaut. What? All they have to do is to put on a funny suit with a fishbowl on their heads and walk on foreign planets, float around the milkyway and probably say hello to aliens. What? Sounds easy, doesn't it?

Call me a spaceman then.

So, no. Not simply "anybody" can be "anything". There's always more to a profession that is unbeknownst to people outside of a given industry and there are always people who are bad at the job and others who are thriving in the career ladder; superceding others.

My thoughts and seriousness aside, here are some photos of my friends and I at the event! laugh

Us again. Girls' night out!

Bought new sunglasses. Loved them to bits! heartheart

'

Isn't it pretty? But guess what? I lost them over the weekend in Penang. BUMMER.

Potong stim, tau? Dahlah beli spek baru mahal sangat, manatau, belum sempat nak gunakan puas2 hilang pulak.

Time for another party! Samsung Malaysia and Manoah threw a splendid dinner party at The Pool KL.

I was glad to be invited, and did not hesitate to join in the fun! smiley

Arrived!

Greeted to such a lovely table setting!

There was this really cool instant photobooth by InstaMedia

Check out all the awesome photos it printed out for me! heart

I loved them so much.

A closer look laugh

Everyone was busy mingling around and catching up over the delicious buffet spread!

It was lovely to meet up with most of my blogger and social media buddies again.

Gym face Wednesday.

With Ash at the gym on Thursday! Nail that T-Bar row.

Extra hours of TRX suspension training this week!

Ready for some post-workout meals? laugh

Tuna chunks and scrambled egg with onions, garden peas, thyme and coarse black pepper on wholemeal toast.

Garden pasta: Organice centellini, flax, brocolli, scrambled eggs, beans and cauliflower

My adapted version of Ronnie Coleman's breakfast

Scrambled eggs (whites to yolk ratio 3:1) with chia seeds, flax,

organic tofu and tuna fish with a dash of balsamic vinegar!

Lunch to-go! Brought tuna mashed with kidney beans, cabbage, grapefruit and wholemeal bread.

Simple quick fix one afternoon – Garden peas, scrambled eggs, flax, quinoa, onions, black pepper and tuna

This doesn't qualify but I thought it looked funny cheeky

Attended Club Asahi Miami in Soju Room, Penang Times Square too.

Full blog coverage – here!

I took some time to soak up the sun by the pool in my hotel at Northam All-Suites Penang.

And had delicious, Penang food!

I've always been so proud of my little island and its gastronomic pleasures!

We're in the second half of the year now, are you halfway achieving your new year resolutions that you made with such raging spirit at the beginning of the year? If not, this is your wake up call! cheeky

Oh and, it's my birthday tomorrow wheee!

Much love,

kissJessicat

The Sunday Times XVIII: Sights, sounds, adventures & eats! My week in a flash ♥

January 20, 2013 by thejessicat

Remember how I said I wanted to take up yoga, or at least give it a try?

I did. One Monday morning, I set off to my gym at Celebrity Fitness for a session of Vinyasa Yoga.

I was all pumped up.

But instead of feeling like I've unleashed a load of stress off my shoulders or looking like a calm-spirited soul who has just achieved inner peace and arriving nirvana, I ended up feeling like this :

All my limbs & joints felt somehow twisted and entangled to the point of no return.

And while all the elderly ladies and my yoga guru effortlessly got into odd, mind-blowing positions without so much as a giggle or even toppling over, I reckon I looked something remotely like this:

I'm not even joking.

I was sweating buckets, had so much difficulty and felt five times older than that 50 year old woman beside me.

But I did enjoy myself. My Body Combat session right after yoga was a breeze as I was already all warmed up and stretched to the maximum.

Ergo, I forsee myself returning to Yoga more often. Let's just hope my flexibility increases by tenfold!

I was supposed to head straight back home but being a girl, I couldn't resist some shopping beforehand.

Guilty as charged. Heh. Heh.

Bought these amazing pair of gladiator wedges from Nose!

And another because I realized that in my collection of 70 pairs of shoes,

I don't own a plain pair of black strappy heels. Yeah, I can't believe it either.

Spent some time in one of my all-time favourite restaurants, Delicious.

I absolutely love the food they serve there. It can be a little pricey, but nothing too expensive for top quality food!

I had : Pumpkin Soup, Caesar Salad, Smoked Salmon Angelhair in cream sauce & Iced Chocolate

Yeah, I know I'm a fatty and a sucker for good food. Sue me.

Took a random photo of babyChivas being silly

Dinnerdate with Konzy at Sakae Sushi. It's our usual haunt now!

I'm such a regular that I don't even need the menu anymore.

If you're looking for a healthy bite like I am, I highly recommend the Soft Shell Crab Crepe, Ebi Crepe and the Aburi Salmon Carpaccio. The Dragon Roll is pretty good too!

For this fortnight's manicure, I decided to do something neon and funky for my weekend of rave-partying

I used lemon yellow, turquoise and OPI's Black Shatter

Guess what? A new Mediterranean restaurant is coming our way this end January.

(exact location : between Mid Valley & The Gardens. Beside the fountain!)

I was invited to sample some of the dishes from their menu. They are:

Carpaccio of Hirame with Wild Rice & Aubergine,

Spaghetti Tomato Sauce with Sea Bass & Grilled Vegetables

Appetizer: Buffalo Mozzarella & Plum Tomato Caprese,

Luis Felipe Edward Sauvignon Blanc

Dessert: Expresso Panna Cotta

Full blog post containing the full review of Blu Med restaurant & its meals coming soon!

After the food tasting session, I set off to The Butter Factory to attend Future Music Festival Asia's pre-party.

Just a little selca fun in the car

The party was fabulous! If you missed, full blog post – here

As this week was Konzy's final week in Malaysia for the next two months, we decided to grab some authentic street food in the city. Jalan Alor was our pick!

Some of the stuff we had. Spicy Clams, Barbequed Ribs in Sesame Sauce, Barbequed Shrimps,

Wan Tan Mee (Wanton Noodles) and… the Barbequed Mushrooms & Broccoli were my favourites!

It's quite a good place to bring your tourists/foreign friends here for food, to be honest.

The choices are endless!

Friday afternoon was a sweltering one. So, Konzy surprised me with this

Usually, I would refuse ice-cream due to my diet requirements but I made this an exception!

My Friday night was mind-blowing.

'Nuff said. Full blog post – here

If Friday wasn't epic enough already, Sunday was the We Love Asia rave party featuring…

Joachim Garraud

 LMFAO

Steve Aoki

Full blog post coming up shortly! Yes, I'm still so stoked that I got to see one of my idols, Steve Aoki LIVE. IN. THE. FLESH!

To end today's edition of The Sunday Times, a friend introduced a beautiful video to me and here it is:

He has an amazing voice, ain't it?

Have a great week, folks!

The Sunday Times VII: Sights, sounds, adventures & eats! My week in a flash ♥

October 7, 2012 by thejessicat

Hello hello! It's Sunday again & I'm feeling so energized!

All pumped up from today's gym session but my legs feel like complete jelly at the moment.

I'm a work in progress.

Well I guess that's whatchu get from insane, merciless core trainings & floor workouts of crunches burpees, front planks, leg-lifts, push-ups, lunges, sit-ups, squats yesterday and straight on to today's high-intensity Body Combat session as well as more crunches & planking.

I think I over-exert myself sometimes

Which is why I only drink Horley's Sculpt protein shakes to restore the protein I need from all those mad workouts

Today's choice of gym shoes: Adidas Adipure 360 for Body Combat & floor workouts! Thanks Adidas Malaysia

I need a massage to relieve my tired muscles. Pronto! ;(

Oh and I think I've said this before, I eat like a pig but I train like a hunting dog.

I can never say no to mamak food. Oh the delicious curry, tandoori chicken, spices & thosai

We all gotta reward ourselves sometimes. Heh. heh. heh.

My treats include chocolate, milkshakes & cheese cakes.

So if you're feeling kind or want to fatten me up with anything like how the 'Hansel & Gretel' witch tried to do to Hansel, you can make me a happy girl

Which was exactly what the wonderful peeps at Pizza Hut Malaysia did last Tuesday.

I was invited to the Pizza Hut Cheesy 7 Red Carpet party!

They blindfolded me while I sampled the Cheesy 7 pizza – which was a much-speculated comeback.

(Full blogpost coming soon!)

What I wore for the night!

After sinfully good food, I always I burn off what I eat – if not at least half of the consumed calories.

Let's kick some arse.

And the gym has always my second home since 2007

Yes, I'm emphasizing the year I became a gym rat, because lately, I've had many people asking me "So what made you so into fitness & gym all of a sudden?"

You asked the question five years too late, baby.

My answer would be – NOTHING. Because I've always been into health & fitness.

Throughout all these years as a fitness junkie, I've never shared my routines nor workout photos before. (I think the most obvious is my constant tweeting and Foursquare check-ins into various gyms and parks).

So, I hope you guys don't ask me the same question anymore pretty please T__T

Here's a Thai restaurant I'd like to recommend – Restoran Aroma Thai @ Damansara Perdana

Tom Yam Seafood soup, Pineapple Rice, Thai-style Curry Beef, Pandan Chicken & Cashewnut Prawns

They all tasted authentic and each were reasonably priced around the range of RM8 – RM20

Attended the Topshop Members Day party on a Thursday night

Major love for polaroids! Always wanted a polaroid camera

My Thursday was quite eventful. It was spent undergoing a very special procedure for my hair.

It is the Brazilian Keratin Treatment  This is only available at A Cut Above hair salons!

I daresay it was the best & most professionally done treatment for my recently-damaged hair

(Full blogpost coming soon!)

The gorgeous & talented Winnie Loo also gave my hair a magical touch with her expertise at haircuts

She gave me a very bold & edgy new asymmetrical hairstyle – just the way I like it

Can't wait to blog about the entire experience at A Cut Above!

I had so much fun with dearest Winnie experimenting new & unconventional looks for me.

Dinner Thursdate with boyfieKon at Chilis Bar & Grill @ Mid Valley Megamall right after

He had the Jalapeno Steak Quesadillas while I had the Chicken Club Tacos

More healthy homemade goodness when I stormed my kitchen as usual.

Take a look!

Fresh garden salad & Thousand Island dressing

Fluffy omelette with Old El Paso salsa & lots of ground pepper!

Friday's breakfast!

Cornflakes with fat-free yoghurt & apple slices

It's Friday night! Off to shimmey down & usher in the weekend with some electronic music at Zouk Club KL!

Feeling a lil punkass tonight ;)

KLCC hey hey!

I don't know about my fellow Malaysians but even after living in this country all my life, I never fail to be amazed at our very own iconic KLCC Petronas Twin-Towers, which was once the world's tallest building!

Partied my Friday night away at Sidney Samson LIVE in Malaysia at Mainroom, Zouk Club KL

RIVER! RIVER! RIVERSIDE… *bleeeeeep*!

Had so much fun with the buddies

Sidney Samson dropped beats from Swedish House Mafia, Skrillex, David Guetta, Zedd, Steve Aoki apart from his very own original tracks. Heck, he even surprised us with several old skool, hip-hop/rap music!

On second thought, it's pretty obvious that he's a fan. He even had a Snoop Dogg T-Shirt on :D

Oh did you know (or even bother to know) that every Saturday is NO PLASTIC BAG DAY at Tesco?

Well, now you do… and you better be prepared!

The last thing you'd wanna do is to lug all your groceries by hand, all the way to your car LOL. For the first time, I actually remembered and brought along two large non-woven environmental friendly bags with me :D

Spent my Saturday night being Bob the Builder with bestiePam

Was busy fixing a new shoe rack for our my collection of shoes!

Hey, they need a nice pedestal to sit prettily too

Let me introduce to you my (now) neatly displayed, happy family of 55 pairs of my favorite footwear!

High-heels, wedges, stilettos, flats, peep-toes, slingbacks, boots,

sneakers, high-tops, runners, gym shoes & flip-flops!

Will be sharing a panorama photo of both mine and bestiePam's shoe collection soon!

I know, don't freak out.

Some girls collect handbags, make up, perfume, stuffed animals, soap bars… and the list goes on.

I told you I'm a caterpillar. I have too many feet & all of them want a pair of shoes to wear :P

Song of the week that came just in time! That's some epic dubstep right there

BoyfieKon is blasting it in our living room right this very moment & totally got me hooked

Another thing I did this week that I just have to share is…

HAHA! I TRAILED A SPEEDING AMBULANCE FOR THE FIRST TIME!!

You know how people follow/tailgate ambulances because every vehicle will make way for them?

Well, I've seen lotsa motorists do it, and since I've always wanted to take advantage of the ambulance's emergency lane, I did. It was cool how everyone gave way to me too :P (It works. I arrived my destination in half the usual time)

That's all for this week. G'night, dearies. Dream of unicorns and rainbows tonight, aight? ;)

Make sure you're well-rested to tackle your next seven days with gusto!

Much love,

Jessicat
