Spanish love anyone? | Desigual, Parkson Pavillion KL

November 23, 2009 by thejessicat

Each and everytime I peer into a Desigual glass window, I would harbour much interest towards the psychedelic designs of their apparel, bags and other accessories. Seriously now, who would dare to be different and boldly step outside wearing something that resembles a swatch of patchwork nowadays?

I found out that this Spanish brand called Desigual, it has been around since the 1984! Coolios. Known for its geometric shapes, eccentric colors and squiggly lines, Desigual has certainly brought fashion forward.

4127021528_fb185f7948_o
I was given the opportunity to try on too!
It costs about RM400++ for this lovely sundress

True to its name, Desigual, which means Dis’equal in Spanish, carries the meaning “it’s not the same”. The brand began began with the objective to create a Fun, Fresh, and differentiated clothing range.

Me with brand manager Mun Fai & staff Ann Ying

This grand opening of Desigual outlet in Parkson, located in Pavillion KL was certainly a fun filled one. Many people were invited, including fashionistas, celebs and media alike.

more
Pretty booklets for all of us!

Apart from that, the refreshments served were fab too! Think chocolate brownies and cocktails being constantly served by men in suits πŸ™‚

erinme
Erin ma beyotch & I <3
We’re clad in Desigual tops if you noticed! *high5*

Amongst the crowd, I managed to check out th estuff within the entire shop. Here’s what I fell in love with. Absolutely want them sitting proudly in my wardrobe instead of these shelves!

sleek
Goodness me. Such love!
When you see black, white & red – it’s me all over.

There were other bags being sold too, and it’s so perfect for a casual outing or event to a real hip & happening event like this. Desigual totally made patchworks a true work of art! I found it really daring and a novel idea.

patchwork
Love the brown one too!

Buddy Erin particularly liked this one. I think it’s really classy yet chic at the same time. Especially if you know how to carry it with style, or match it with a really good pair of strappy studded heels.

canvas
That’s her carrying the aforementioned handbag!

Apart from handbags, totes and slingbags, there are other smaller merchandise as well. Take a look at their wallets, scarves and belts for example

kisses
I shot the one I favored most of course!
πŸ™‚ Santa Claus, I want this!

chilly
A nice psychedelic scarf to keep you warm

belts
Those trendy & colorful splashes of print
is a signature design of its own

There were many to choose from, all within the latest cuttings and trends. They’ve got empire waisted dresses, summer dresses, dresses with butterfly sleeves and the list goes on!

sundress
Oh and see the brown coat on the left?
It costs almost one grand, ladies.
That’s high street fashion for you! πŸ™‚

colors
So loud and cheeky, no?
If you noticed, the dress on the left is what I wore
in the 1st picture of this entry

I couldn’t resist the temptation of trying on more summer dresses. It’s so different from the average dresses that we see on runways and on all the boutiques. Their dresses made me feel like I stand out from a crowd of plain colored apparel.

redblack
This one made me in touch with my oriental roots
It’s red with a golden threaded dragon motive behind
The upper part reminded me of a Japanese koi fish πŸ™‚
But after a few varieties tried and tested, the one below was the one I chose – courtesy of Desigual Malaysia. Thanks guys! I liked this one particularly because I wanted to partake another color option, other than my usual black & red combo. And I think it reminds me of a Japanese Kimono. Geisha anyone?

mine
Totally love the graffitized white bag too!
But hey, I should stop sharing all the cream to the girls already. It’s time to move on to these boys (or should we say, manslaves) who wait for hours on end for us girls to go shopping and carry our shopping purchases for us πŸ™‚

shirts
Yup, Desigual has really nice graphic shirts too!
If shirts aren’t really your thing (stares at someone *cough*) , then you gentlemen can opt for tshirts instead. They’ve got really funky and bright ones! Totally makes you feel young again eyy

psy
And oh, an Ed Hardy caps complements well too πŸ™‚

After Desigual’s launch was over, it was open to the public for business. Again, many customers flocked the outlet one by one to check out the new designs and latest trends of this Spanish couture.

busy
Busy choooooosing
Spoilt for choice huh? I was πŸ™‚

Despite the extremely busy day for everyone, Desigual Pavillion managed to maintain their customer service with much hospitality and they were always there for me whenever I wanted another size and similar dress to try on!

camho
And even camwhored with me πŸ™‚
When the night came to an end, I was a happier girl with a brand spanking new dress to wear for more events to come! Oh and I loved the top that Erin bought for herself, a black one of course. Ooops I can’t help it! >_<

team
Here’s to the amazing team of Desigual staff line up!
Cheers πŸ™‚ You guys made my day
What do you guys think of these designs at Desigual? Very uniquely different ey? πŸ™‚

PRETTY! The Little Trinket Company

October 7, 2009 by thejessicat

How often do you have a treasure chest of goodies knocking at your door?

Not often – actually, not at all.

me2

Courtesy of The Little Trinket Company, I was given some pretty little delights to gloat over for the rest of the night with my girlies! Knock knock came the mini black and gold treasure chest one evening.

treasure
Even my lil plushie wondered what it was

Let’s take a peek inside shall we?
*rubs hands with glee*

peek
Pretty lil imported charms combined with Swarovski Crystals!

And what else? Ooh, a letter sealed in a scarlet red envelope. Amazing how they really catch my eye with liberal splashes of red and white hues. Those colours always gets me going.

Let’s see what it has in store for me :

lovenote
a Dear Blogger letter..awww!

I didn’t hesitate to grab em and put it on my lil makeshift studio at home for a lil shoot before I proudly wear it on my wrist. Don’t want the charm of my brand new charmbracelet to run out! (like it ever will?)

charmbracelet
Let’s see why this charmbracelet represents me

  • handbag for the shopaholic in me
  • trumpet for the music freak i am
  • eiffel tower for my soul to go a-travelling
  • silver wings for an iconic fraction of my tattoo
  • converse for the street & ghetto chick I am
  • camera for the photohunter in me
  • red Swarovski crystals fave colour, need I say more?

But all in all, my favorite pick would be the bronze Converse. My trusty ol pair of black converse has been with me since the high school days.

fave
I never get tired of wearing them
(a good remedy after nights & nights in killa high heels)

Oh my, now I know the purrr-fect thing to wear tomorrow for ma girls’ night out at Euphoria. Bet they will love them too πŸ™‚ Who wouldn’t?

me
Charmbracelets are a major craze to girls lately
That’s where The Little Trinket Company comes in.
You’re gonna be spoilt for choice!

One thing I love about charmbracelets is that it is a representation of who you are, what you like/have always dreamed of, or even to carry a memory with you. Be it anything, I bet you will find the right charm!

delicate

I don’t mind choosing the charms with you online too!
Let’s do some shopping together shall we?

casual
I like to wear mine with the black bands I have on all the time

I’m pretty sure The Little Trinket Company will be every girl’s cuppa tea. No worries if you’re the rough-and-tough gal who beats the lads at arm wrestling though, there are also charms of a hand grenade and other boyish stuff.

iconic

So heads up gurls! Go crazy and choose them silly

*cough*
Attention to the boys :
this will make a really lovely gift for your girlfriends, wives, mommas, grandmommas (yes! the gramophone wtf), aunts, nieces, daughters, next door neighbour or whoever you deem will be just as delighted as I am.

Check it out !

To the ass who stole my hat

September 25, 2009 by thejessicat

I hardly ever have the time to write self-indulgent entries unfortunately. Most of my blog entries lately are all about events and food. But tonight, it’s gonna be different. I don’t give a flying rat’s ass.

hat5

BECAUSE SOMEONE
STOLE MY HAT!

Worse, a hat which I just bought a few minutes ago.

I didn’t even have the chance to wear it to any of the upcoming events! It’s this lil adorable black vintage hat with a black rose.

Kinda regretted that I didn’t wear it immediately after purchasing, all because it didn’t match my outfit. So I thought I’d save it for another day. All I had was some 5 minutes to try on the hat and to have Victoria take some pictures for me just to see how I’d look with it on.

hat2hat

I know I look weird/pale/whatever without make up but I don’t care either. Was just a test shot to see how my hat & I would turn up in pictures. And that, unfortunately, was the last time I wore it.

IT’S MY HAT, NOT YOURS B!TCH.

I hope it would catch fire and turn your hair into nothing but disintegrated debris if you ever wear it out. Either that, or it will simply fall off your head each time you try to take a picture with it. Why? Because I’m nasty like that.

On a lighter note, I can’t wait for Arthur’s Day by Guinness tonight! The Black Eyed Peas are so gonna boom boom pow the stage away. I guess, that should cheer me up.

PS : I want my hat back T___T

Take old skool home!

May 24, 2009 by thejessicat

Just got back from Singapore and I had such a terrific time during the weekend! Try conjuring images of rockers, large crowds, burfday songs and public “embarrassment”. Nah, just kidding. It wasn’t all about that.

I didn’t torture him that terribly… or did I?

So yeah. Before I share the boyfie’s big bang birthday weekend, Imma kick back some swagger and take to the streets. It’s old skool babeh. What could be better than some preppy gear and vintage wear?

This season, it’s all about the streets.
There ain’t no rules ‘cept the ones on the wall

Graffiti at its best. Hit the streets with urban artsy fartsy doodles splashed on walls, some trash cans, rubbish strewn around for the edgy hit and a bottle of whatever.

Laidback, with her fave pair of Converse…
She’s jackin’ the streets.
credits to: theboyfie who shot me in the back alleys

Yep, that’s right. I’m lovin this now. And if you guys didn’t catch the Adidas Spring & Summer collection ‘o9, ya better head down to get a sneak peak. I’m totally diggin’ the classic yet contemporary look they have this season. Try a Vespa with those familar 3 stripes? Loves.

On a completely different note, I even bought myself some blasts from the past. They say certain fads die off but this is eternal to stay.

Jess is sporting her retro rock&roll miniskirt, latex black skinny slacks,
an Audrey Hepburn purse and tartan blouses aka “boyfriend shirts”

“Shopping is cheaper than Psychiatrists”

I’m always ready for some retail therapy!

But when I’m totally junked out, these caffeine kickers imported to my desk all the way from Pakistan will definitely do the trick.

So, laugh out when you strike a pose and put on all your preppy clothes!

Oh and…

I LOST MY SONY CYBERSHOT. FML
