JUICE 7th Anniversary @ Euphoria MOS

Finally feeling a wee bit better to be up and to get my fingers bloggin’ again! Argh, staying in bed since Saturday ain’t my cuppa tea. Believe me, it sucks twice as bad when you have nothing to eat but oats and bread, followed by the much dreaded medicine.

No time to be sick. Let’s parrrtayyyyyyyyy!

ANYWAY
My heartfelt appreciation and gratitude goes out to all of you who left your well-wishes in my previous post. Also, to those who cared to text, IM and gave me a call to see how I’m doing. Aunt Queenie just appeared at my front door a couple of minutes ago and brought me sandwiches, papayas and chrysenthemum tea. Really, you peeps hiked up my spirits.. I’m en route to recovery already!

So here goes

It was JUICE 7th Anniversary bash on the 31st of July @ Euphoria by Ministry of Sound and one thing’s for shure, you’ll see us party people there. The theme was Future So Bright, with a neon and colourful themed dress code. I initially didn’t plan to shoot any event photos for the night but ohwell, when I was slightly less occupied, I figured out some shots won’t hurt, yea?

When I got in after closing the VIP registeration booth, lucky me was just in time to catch some dance routines by the contestants for the ‘Face Off’ challenge.

Another contestant caught me eye. Hell yeah. This white dude had the looks and features of a chiseled statue. If looks could kill, I’m certain all of us would have dropped dead already

He then proceeded to strip himself topless which garnered him lots and lots of roaring cheers and high-pitched squeals from the ladies

The next contestant was really boisterous! He was indeed a ball of fun and such a sport. I bet many gurls are envious of how he shook his thang and busted those smooth moves

For being such a vivacious spirit and cutesy-pie, you get thunderous support from the massive crowd of party peeps!

My buddies and I too partied hard when the boomboombass music began to tear up the dance floor. It was pretty interesting to see them all dressed in bright colors according to the dress code!

Soon after, more games struck the stage. It was the Best Dressed competition and there were a handful of bold colorful peeps who volunteered themselves for this challenge. However, us bloggers shoved a fellow blogger Chris up on stage to try his luck

The final game was rather simple. The contestant who had the most JUICE badges pinned on themselves in the shortest time will emerge victorious! One of us bloggers participated as well and managed to get into the top 3

We were taken into a new dimension of Crunchtime by Arabyrd aka Arafah, with infectious rap beats that could race a stallion anytime.

It’s Crunchtime babeh!

She reminded me alot of Missy Elliot. With her smooth rap verses and powerful bootyshakin’ dance routines. She also busted lots of freestyle rapping, you rock babe!

However, there was something slightly amiss. Lotsa people actually remarked that they could all see that she was accidentally overexposing. Hmm.. pulling off another Janet Jackson move? Yup, I too realized that I was among the other photographers who caught her nipple-slip on camera.

Soon after, we headed to a nearby coffeeshop for some Chinese.

After filtering goddamn many photos, I’ve chosen 50 to be placed here in my blog! The rest will be up on Facebook 🙂 Let’s get things started, shall we?

For starters, I’m surprised I actually arrived there pretty early in contrast to my usual Malaysian time. heh. We were one of the earliest to arrive and started snapping away!

My picture moment with the Artistry crew. I liked the way the emcee dressed. It’s friggin’ funky I tell ya. Imagine, a pink bandana matched with a neon tie with a shirt underneath and a vest and baggy jeans. Voila!

More and more of my buddies began to roll in one by one and of course, we had many picture moments by the Artistry board right outside. The emcee began hyping up the crowd outside already.

The moment we got inside, we were in awe. There were many display cabinets for the godly Henessy VSOP bottles and lots more. I reckon this is a good place for us to down all our shots or mingle about 1st before the party began.

The set-up of the foyer wowed us and the powerful disply of lightplay was impressive. Colourful laser beams flashing around with an LED controlled lightboard had those lights dancing, tumbling and free-wheeling almost everywhere across the room

DJ Milinka was already spinning the moment we entered the party area. My, it was huge! It was segregated into 4 sections, namely the V, S, O and P. The VIPs had an aerial view of the stage right above!

We were seated at the S section, where it was reserved for bloggers and the media. Awesome central view of the stage and everyone else at the mainroom below.

When I exited our sections and entered the main room, I took some lovin’ at the bar. ‘Em bartenders were flaring and attractive baristas were serving free-flow of Hennessy shots and cocktails.

Our local rock band One Buck Short made an appearance as well. Man, I love their songs! Soon, The Homies began their rap performance in Mandarin. Pity I don’t understand a word huh.

Soon after, the sexy vixen Dominique Tsai belted out a rockin performance with a combo of singing, dancing and also playing the electrone!

She really knew how to work both her Chinese educated and English educated fans in a frenzy.

She also shared the stage with internationally reknown Fat Man Scoop & Joe Flizzow for a duet performance. The rapping and breakdance performances set the mood really well.

And FINALLY.
The maestro of it all took to the stage. He’s the one I’ve been waiting for all night long. Lemme introduce to you.. FAT MAN SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!

Hell yeah.
I’m proud to say I’ve met him in the flesh now!

He worked the crowd really well by rapping and catapulting us to the skies alongside the DJs playing friggin’ awesome remixes. Heck there was songs by Timberland, Missy Elliot, Jay-Z and lots more.

However, I’ve heard of some who disliked the fact that he often played and paused the songs – causing a rupture of their party momentum. Well actually guys, if you went right below the stage (or on the dance floor) like my friends and I did, you would totally get why he did that and enjoy it just like we did 🙂

One of my favorite parts was when the DJs remixed MJ’s Billy Jean and Scoop busted out his smooth moves according to the infectious beats of this number.

I had a pleasant surprise when he actually jumped off the stage to party with us on the dance floor. THANK HEAVENS HE DIDN’T DO A STAGE DIVE LEST THIS WILL BE THE LAST PARTY OF OUR LIVES. -RIP- I don’t fancy being squashed thankyouverymuch.

I honestly can’t think of how things will be like if he actually undergoes liposuction or perhaps a diet program. Then… What’s a Fat Man Scoop without the fat?

Speaking of which, here’s a very funny sight when he was relentlessly attempting to climb back up without help.

He had trouble getting up and many fans helped pushed his derriere forward with the help of some crew members yanking him back up. hee!

We continued partying the night away with some of Scoops mind-blowing performances

Saltshakin’ salt shakers The YingYang Twins then tremoured the stage with their raps and whatnot. Funny how they can pull of looking so darn Reggae yet so Hip Hop simultaneously.

After publishing some shots of topless beachboys during the [Roxy-Quiksilver Spring & Summer Collection launch] last April, I’ve been getting a few requests to use my prerogative as a female photographer to shoot and blog about hunky male models with rippling muscles and washboard abs.

I finally concluded that it was actually a really clever idea. *winks*

A fire-burning start

So gurls and gayboys,
this is just for ya!

Some time back, I attended a very special and one-of-a-kind Ladies’ Night in Upstairs, The Loft courtesy of Sharlyn, the PR manager. It’s really unique because apart from all the usual partying for ladies, there was a pampering session in motion.

Think manicures, makeovers and hairstyling… all complimentary! Hey, I guess this is also one of the reasons why it rocks to be a gurl instead of a male.

As this was a Ladies’ Night, it is by regulation that no men are to be allowed in the premises of the club. Hence, we got to see the feminine side of the bartenders. They were all dressed in bras with tissues stuffed in them!

Talk about being sporting, they scored brilliantly!

All the chicks in the house had their fair share of mingling, stuffing their faces with the buffet dinner, swigging down the free flow of drinks, having themselves made up, getting their hair done by Snips professionals as well as having their nails filed, buffed and painted... but that’s not all.

The session that got the gurls in a frenzy was a catwalk of swoon-worthy eye candies strutting themselves on stage in nothing but their boxers and string of boa feathers.

Hell we’re not. The ladies piercing screams were enough to deafen a dog when this hubba subject of every girl’s desire began to inch about every corner of the stage playing and swinging the boa feathers around himself.

What can I say? *swoons*

When the level of high-pitch screams became more intolerable, I reckon something irresistable is imminent… and I saw it. This one evoked every femme fatale outta the women in the house. A playboy-looking character stripped down to nothing but his boxers and a pair of shoes which I was coincidentally wearing that very day – black Converse!

Guilty pleasures? I just continued shooting until the end of the night, left with a wry and wicked grin plastered on my face and giggled all the way home with the gurls. Just being human. Hey, at least I’m honest. *wink*

My Burfday bash @ Zouk!

Right…this is it.
Sunday was the hangover day
Monday was black Monday + photo processing day
Tuesday is the day…

The be-early burfday gurl’s take on the bash!

One of the best parts of this joint burfday celebration was the drafting and organization of it. From handling the mechanics (reservations, budgeting, designing the invitation & working out the guestlist) till the day the burfday bash finally came, it was all worth it.

When we got there at 11pm, most of our guests were already there. Upon giving them the guestlist, we had to open all 4 bottles 1st. Standard procedure, methinks.

When I saw the figure on the cash register, my eyes widened.

After the headcount of our guests, we managed to secure all 30 of you past the bouncers and into Velvet Underground @ Zouk.

Being the hosts, we first made sure everyone of you had at least a drink in hand and are able to get yourselves comfortable among each other. After all, you peeps = boss.

We grabbed a few group shots 1st for the early birds, all before everyone took a sip of the alcoholic wonder : Hennessy VSOP, JW Black Labels & Belvedere Vodka.
