So yes. Most of you lovely people out there knew that I attended a party last night dressed as Lady Gaga.

It was a music bash party, featuring music on-the-go downloads on the new iPhone application called DIGI Music Play by DiGi 🙂

Thumbs up to them!

Looks like Gaga found her music on the iPhone app too! 😀

Anyway, since lotsa people asked me how I did the look (don't know why you ask me actually, as I'm not a pro make up artist at all. Much much more talented people on YouTube you can learn from), I will show you briefly how I did it. 🙂

1. After your liquid foundation and lose powder, put on the closest you can to Lady Gaga's extravagant eye make up and blend the colours of your eyeshadow. I used Electric Blue and white shimmery powder on my upper lids and Purple/Dark Pink shades to feather them out and on the lower lids as well.

It takes lotsa time to blend it to a perfect finish. Darken as close to your lashlines as possible with black eyeliner.

Webcam pictures doesn't do justice for proper visual details, sorry 🙂

2. Draw her signature lighting bolt lightly, with the fine felt tip of your eyeliner brush first. You want to get the correct shape of the huge lighting bolt. Can't afford mistakes because that's gonna make you wipe off everything and start from scratch!

Yes messy house – usually like this after examinations 🙂

3. Take a step back and look at yourself further, in a bigger picture. You might notice some crooked edges of your lighting bolt, so refine and sharpen the edges to make it as straight and perfect as possible.

4. Darken your lighting bolt with a black liquid eyeliner.

5. Load up on your lashes. Curl them and apply plenty of mascara and falsies 🙂

6. Put on a dark pink/red lipstick + gloss (Not obvious on this webcam photo)

7. After putting on your wig cap, put on your blonde wig. Find the long straight ones with bangs in front.

Two options to zhng up your new long, blonde hair

a) Tie a hair bow

OR

b) Wear her signature huge headphones

8. Wrap the wires and cables of the headphones around your neck

9. Wear a pair of satin black gloves

10. Bring out your silver lighting bolt that you have prepared earlier. I made mine out of styrofoam and glittery silver fabric. You can use any material to make this bolt, cardboard, aluminium foil, silver paper or anything .

If you're too lazy, turn a store upside down and buy it. 😛

FINALLY, take another step back and camwhore!

What better way to look at your own photo to judge how you look? 🙂 You can always fix it if you spot any mistakes

Obviously, before you put on any make up, make sure you have on your long top (I used the one my best friend bought for me as a gift from UK) and your liquid black shiny leggings. Pair if all off with a pair of boots.

And I'm ready to adjourn! 🙂 On my way to Zouk now.

The Fame Monster, Lady Gaga has arrived 😀

OK SO HERE COMES THE SERIOUS PART.

Before I begin, lemme assure everyone that there is no offense meant to anyone and should anyone take offense, then please, don't get your panties tied up in knots or get sand in your boxers because of me. This is just a sincere account of how I felt last night.

The reason why I'm typing this is because I'm just so tired and fed up of answering everyone asking me BBM-ing, DM-ing, Whatsapp-ing and MSN-ing me regarding "how come I didn't win" the title of Best Dressed at the party last night.

That, and I also don't feel like talking about it anymore nor repeat myself.

Didn't win, didn't win la! Winning ain't everything.

I know you guys care and was in disbelief that's why you asked in the first place, but believe me… I was also just as shocked upon knowing.

No point telling me anymore that (Not my words. Quoting from everyone) I "should have won" or my "outfit was better" or how "all the efforts put into crazy dressing up gone to waste" or "how can a flamboyant look lose to something so minimal".. etc. I've heard all of that from everyone and well, what can I say?

The judges decision was final – whether or

not it was "always the smarter choice".

Allow me to clarify. My issue here is affirmatively not about my loss.

I am certainly not a sore loser and I acknowledge that in a contest, there is always a winner and losers

But here's where my dissatisfaction comes in –

HOW CAN 3 OTHER WELL DRESSED PEOPLE LOSE TO SOMEONE WHO DRESSED UP THE LEAST??

I'm sorry, but can you see the difference in the effort put in for each costume dress-ups?

It's ridiculous! The judges must've been shot in the eyeballs or have grime stuck on their cornea adversely affecting their vision.

Not intending to boast, but I'm giving you an honest account of what happened. The moment I walked into the Zouk, I was greeted with positive comments, non-stop requests for photo taking, cheers of support from people I don't even know and very nice encouraging compliments from everyone.

Nevermind the fact that I walked from my condo down to my car looking like that, attracting baffled stares.

Nevermind the fact that I somewhat shocked other drivers in the cars to my left and right while driving to the venue.

Nevermind the fact that I wasn't "allowed" into the premises until carpark attendants and security guards had their pictures taken of me.

NEVERMIND all that.

Because, as long as there is someone better dressed up than me, then all the above doesn't matter anymore as I would admit defeat and wave the white flag with pride. Clearly if someone had put more effort than I did, the better dressed up contestant deserves to win the Best Dressed prize 🙂

Fair and square.

Here's where my next issue comes in. What's the title category up for grabs here?

Best DRESSED.

Not Best Dance, not Most Simple Costume, not Best Performance, nor Best Impersonation

it's BEST DRESSED. In case you are visually disadvantaged like them, lemme reiterate.

BEST DRESSED. BEST DRESSED.  DRESSED.

DRESSED.

You tell me, which part of an "outfit" consisting of normal shoes, short black tights and a long sleeved black tee (probably taken from own wardrobe) apparently coming dressed as Lady Gaga can upstage that of fully dressed contestants comprising rented wigs, heavy character make up, fancy character accessories and complete costumes from head to toe?

What happened to BEST DRESSED??

Let me assert that this is nothing personal and that I have completely no resentment towards the girl at all. I don't even know her, have never heard of her and its entirely not her fault in this matter. She can wear anything she likes to any party – heck she can even come in stark naked or dress all covered up like Mother Theresa for all I care 🙂

Thing is, IF i had lost to the two other very well dressed contestants – Elvis Presley and Marilyn Manson, I would have no qualms whatsoever and will instead, whole-heartedly congratulate the rightful winner.

I must commend Elvis Presley for his very well thought of costume, hair and props..

And three cheers for Marilyn Manson for his very similar dressing and characteristics as well.

As you can see, these were the only 2 people I took pictures with (apart from emcee Adam Lambert below) because before the Best Dressed finalists were announced, I could see that they were my clear rivals in the contest right from the start.

And we were all good of a sport to take pictures with each other despite being friendly competitors. 🙂

I could see that they also went to great lengths to rent their costumes, wigs, dressed up from head to toe, prepared props, put on character make up as well, hence very much deserving of the Best Dressed prize too.

I left with a heavy, disappointed heart but a false smile on my face – to let everyone know that I'm okay.

But I'm actually not. Far from feeling okay.

At least I knew deep down I won fair and square in winning the hearts & attention of the crowd and certainly had a better chance of wining the Best Dressed prize. Thank you to those who told me so.

All your hugs telling me that you "thought I was going to win" or "I had a closer Lady Gaga look than she did" or "that I should have won" or that I "was obviously a better dressed Lady Gaga" tonight. (Again, not my words but other's).

It's these sincere and honest words (and fair judgement) from everyone that assured me that I was among the 3 stars that very night. Thank you, each and everyone of you. It certainly meant a lot to me 🙂 Hugs.

Oh and, upon exiting, I happened to bump into Elvis Presley and he told me of how unfair he felt the results were as well. My sentiments exactly. Honestly, even HE deserved a better chance at winning that prize with his whole fancy get-up.

Sigh. The results were unfair and you know it.

Whatever man, seriously. what can I say?

I hope you see where I'm coming from in this rather long rant. I just had to get it out. My mere intentions has never been t to cyber attack anyone but rather to voice my displeasure.

On another note, the prize possession did not influence me to write this as well. I'm not hard up for it at all. It was an iPhone for goodness sake. I don't want it and I don't need it. Nothing against iPhones as well, but longtime readers of my blog would know that I'm a hardcore RIM Blackberry fangirl.

My issue raised here is just the unprofessionalism of the judging criteria.

If a category clearly states BEST DRESSED, it speaks for itself what criteria should be taken to judge

I may not be the best dancer in the world nor remotely anything close to the best singer on earth

But then again, that shouldn't have anything to do with a dress-up contest.

Let's say the finalists were narrowed down to 2 from the 4, if the judges were still undecided

then it's a good chance to let the crowd decide among the 2, also solely on that criteria

What the contestants do on stage should go under Best Impersonation or Best Performance

Whatever happened last night was beyond me. Ultimately, the judges decision was final.

Oh and next time, remind me to clad myself in very minimal & simple dressing and perform a sexy dance like an good professional dancer to win the Best DRESSED prize. Because that seemed to work compared to…..

…. the exact replica and effort like this. Doesn't impress the judges! 🙂 🙂

Uh-huh. Makes TOTAL sense now, doesn't it?

Radical, if I do say so myself 🙂
