So it was one rainy morning that I made my way to Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) in Mid Valley. Who would've thought I'd go shopping so early in the morning? Haha no I didn't. Courtesy of United International Pictures (UIP) and The Star, I got to catch the media screening of Shrek 4 : Forever After.

So here's my take on the movie

It started off with an ungrateful Shrek, discontented with his life's splendours. His wife, his babies and his position as a 'tame' domestic and family Shrek. He was never thankful for everything he had! Now, everyone knows they should count their blessings and be satisfied with their lives….

But not Shrek.

He just wanted to be the ferocious Shrek feared by all again

He wanted everything to never happen at all

and signed a Promise with wrinkly annoying ol' Rumpelstiltskin longing to feel like a 'real ogre' again

pffft. This fella wa on an ego trip. Men. tsk tsk tsk

Shrek suddenly finds himself in a twisted, alternate version of Far Far Away, where ogres are hunted, Rumpelstiltskin is king and Shrek and Fiona have never met.  Now, it’s up to Shrek to undo all he’s done in the hopes of saving his friends, restoring his world and reclaiming his one True Love.

Watch out for the bold heroine-like Fiona

One of my favorite parts of the movie was watching Puss in Boots' antics! The fast-paced and brave kitty was now a… fat slobby piece of lard. I've always had a thing for fat cats hahaha. They're so cuddly and well.. fat. LOL

I personally felt this movie was very touching, hilarious and bursting with moral values! This coming from a non-Shrek fan FYI. If you're a follower of the other Shrek prequels, you definitely must never give this a miss You'll love it just like I do… or maybe even more!

Perfect movie to watch with your family, kids or with your significant other.

Come on Fiona, let's bust our way outta here!

Go be one of the first few to catch this movie, loves! Shrek : Forever After hits the big screen today. Are you a fan of Shrek's? hehe. Better watch it before you get whisked to the alternate and grotesque Far Far Away by Rumpelstiltskin! In his world, EVERY fine print matters!

A few days back, a group of friends and I were invited to catch the premier screening of 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' courtesy of Warner Bros. pictures and also thanks Bryan for inviting me! In all honesty, when I 1st heard that this movie was gonna be released this month, a strange thought crossed my mind.

"Waaaaaiiittt a minute.

Wasn't this movie a really old movie, which existed during my parents' generation?"

All because I recognized the namesake itself… and of course, our dear ol' Freddy Krueger the nightmare of everyone's dreams. Only then I realized that it was a remake of that 1984 film. (which casted Johnny Depp too omg! but nevermind that for now )

Now that's Freddy Krueger. remember him in Freddy vs. Jason too?

The effects of this movie was good. Blood dripping and squirting everywhere, necks being slashed open, gashing wounds and such. I liked how Freddy had this old habit of rubbing his scythes together – causing his trademark shrill sound to be heard.

The plot of 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' remains similar and themes revolving around thoughts and repressed childhood memories, often coming back to haunt those during the unconscious of one's dreamwork. Quite predictable though, if you have already watched the earlier installment. Otherwise, you won't be disappointed!

You BETTER not be, for Freddy's coming for you too

Here's a short summary of the 2010's version of the movie :

On Elm Street, Nancy, Dean, Quentin, Kris, Jesse are experiencing terrifying nightmares involving a burned man wearing a glove with razor blades on the fingers. This clawed killer in their dreams is Freddy Krueger himself who inflicted pain and fear them during their childhood. This group of teens, whose parents were responsible for Krueger's death were being murdered one by one in their sleep.

They discovers that they were having similar dreams, about a guy named 'Freddy' and a pre-school. In order to stay alive, they must stay awake as their dreams would be fatal. Uncovering the secret identity of the dream killer and his connection with the children of Elm Street, Nancy and Quentin girl plots to draw him out into the real world so they can kill him once and for all.

Funny how it reminded me of The Sims computer game. I used to NEVER let them sleep and ohhh poor them just had to fall asleep standing while washing the dishes! LOL don't I sound a wee bit of a saddist to you? Well, at least I rescued my Sims from Freddy

Apparently, Nancy is Freddy's "number one" girl. That perverse burnt victim even kept pictures of here, which I personally assumed to be indecent – because it was never revealed in the movie of WHAT kind of pictures those were.

But her expression upon flipping through the pictures were traumatic enough to warrant me that assumption. 'Nuff said.

That's her bleeding and all wrapped up in plastic beckoning for Nancy in the latter's dreams

This is when you shouldn't believe your best friend exists

Kinda tragic isn't it? When you just need to rest those eyes and fall asleep but you know when you do, you will never wake up again. But I never understood why Krueger can never seem to be killed permanently. After all, their parents did burn him to death.. and Nancy successfully slaughtered him again.

But he's still alive!

My thoughts keep telling me that there might be a possible sequel

and that this time, Krueger will be after the parents instead hahahaha

Freddy could be anywhere *gasp*

After all, he works in your mind and is a paedo

In my opinion, this movie is made up a group of innocent peeps getting all petrified over a nightmare-pedophile-cum-Sandman-gone-wrong. Plus, the building of the plot totally reminded me of Final Destination series too, where all the teens gets killed one after another.

No, not us please. Them.

 I still found it worth a watch nonetheless Be less critical and you'll enjoy the movie

So go watch it fellas We had fun, I'm sure you will too

It has just released in cinemas!

Yippeee! I had the opportunity to catch the movie 2012 in theaters within the 1st week of release despite the fact that my friends told me that the all tickets were sold out in all major cinemas. Anyway thanks to you-know-who-you-are!

But just before the movie began, came various movie trailers and cineadvertisements. The moment Everyone Connects TM song sang by Bunkface which I blogged about [here] started playing, I had a shock of my life.

What on earth was everyone doing!!??

The song was really catchy and well, at one point played innumerable times on hitz.fm so obviously everyone knew the words to it. But still, why was everyone getting into a frenzy, stood up waving their arms while singing along to it?

Look, it was 2012 after all.

Get what I mean?

Not wanting to be left out, I sang along too all because I know the lyrics as well. But I wasn’t eccentric enough to stand on my chair, hysterically waving and yelling at the top of my voice and whatnot though. Didn’t dare to!

But I guess, everything’s possible with connections
They all perhaps knew each other, I reckon

Parts of me suspect that it was a flash mob yet why am I flabbergasted at this sudden behaviour? Hmmm.. whatever it is, it certainly raised my eyebrows and everyone else. So surprising, like ohmygoodness! Quite cool, right?
