I was suspected as a terrorist last week! My car was checked for bombs in JW Marriott Hotel, KL

Yes, you read right. BOMBS.

Here’s a very strange occurrence that happened one evening.

I drove myself to Starhill Gallery for dinner and decided that it would be easier to park in JW Marriott Hotel because both buildings were practically beside each other.

But as I entered JW Marriott Hotel, the guards pulled down the security bar and halted me to a stop.

They began blowing whistles at each other and brandished huge convex mirrors to peer underneath my car for bombs.

I was gestured to open my trunk as they rummaged it, along with my backseat.

Upon seeing my confused and somewhat horrified expression, another security guard told me to get down my car and they performed a body check on me using a few handheld scanners.

I was told that they had to conduct further checking for my possession of hand grenades and bombs.

What in the world?????

For a second there, I knew exactly how a terrorist feels.

At this point, nothing was running through my head except – what on earth was going on? No one was checked except me.

Could there be some bigshot coming to visit whom they had to guard with their lives?

Or an ancient relic of world heritage that had to be shielded from exposure and destruction?

Thank you for assuming that I am capable of posing a threat to national security but  it has never crossed my mind to obliterate Starhill nor the vicinity of Bukit Bintang in KL, Malaysia. Would you sponsor my arsenal of weaponry then?

If you do, perhaps we could hatch a diabolical plan to annihilate Starhill and dominate the world together. *evil laughter*

Sorry, but looks like I don’t fit the criteria at all. I don’t own machine guns of any sort nor a rocket launcher. But I have 25 pairs of shoes at home! *beams* And when I tweeted this whole scenario, some followers asked me in shock: “What were you wearing? How did you look like now?”

Nah, here you go. Some camwhore shots that I happened to take in the car moments before I was suspected of possessing firearms.

This was how I looked that evening.

Dangerous meh? -___-

On my next trip to Le Meridien hotel (also in the city) last Friday for a dinner event, I was checked for bombs AGAIN. But the most peculiar thing is, none of the other cars – before and after mine – weren’t checked at all.

This is getting pretty strange, I could get used to this! :D

BOMBS. There you go. Malaysia’s female terrorist 2010. Are you scared yet?

I’d like to think I’m *literally* a bombshell after this incident. LOL

One who owns a very dangerous military pet sheep too.

Run for your life! For this blog might explode in 3 seconds.

I encountered this when I was in Le Meridien hotel last Jan 2010. They also check my car as if I’m the suspected terrorist.

I guess those guards have “red eyes”, if it’s a luxury car, I think they won’t be so strict. :P

  4. Josh says:

The think that looks can kill perhaps? Or they thought you are someone like Angelina Jolie in ‘Salt’. =P

  5. Simon Seow says:

This is the norm for hotels, Hilton KL have been doing it for quite a while already.

  7. Hahaha… now we know that Bin Laden is a hot Chinese Malaysian girl, woohoo. :P

I have to correct you, when you say “For a second there, I knew exactly how a terrorist feels.” A terrorist is a cold blooded mofo, he won’t be so shocked like you. And usually they never catch terrorists this way, I have never heard from the news like: “A terrorist was checked for a bomb beneath his car, when he drove to a party at Berjaya Jaya Hotel in Padang Buntung. Police found a ticking bomb, disarmed it and captured the man.” Where got this? Not even in Bolehland and we all know in Malaysia many things boleh :P

Maybe they searched for a tease terrorist. Your hottness is teasing the male population of Malaysia and I’m still a bit surprised that they missed your two ticking bombs x_x hahaha

and yeah, terrorists aren’t captured liddat at all. police usually surround the place and force the poor dude to surrender from his hide out hahaha! XD

Actually if u park at starhill, they sometimes stop your car and check under it and your boot. happened to me a few times.

Not to ask me to get out and scan me tho. lol

    • thejessicat says:

haha! i guess that is still acceptable. Mine was overdone and it was frustrating cos i was asked to get out. they kept talking to each other in a language i dont understand and refused to let me go. >____<

      sheeesh. =/

  12. luvergalviv says:

ooh. i’ve encountered this at jw marriot also. they’ll checked your boot, under car and look into your seats. but i do agree yours was overdone when u were asked to get out =( nevertheless, it’s just safety precautions. u should be careful =)

    • thejessicat says:

hahha i’ve no idea what they’re so worried about. i guess it’s just the tight security, but sometimes it can be overdone! grrr. Unless i look like a scary piece of shit la. hahaha

    suggestion lah, no offense! hahaha…

  17. Elwyn~! says:

Maybe its like when you describe it you were showing your confused and horrified expression, they thought you may be hiding something. So that could be the reason why you were asked to come down for body search. Just a thought.

  18. Pris says:

haha x) funneh :D maybe you should change your appearances otherwise you can’t even go out travelling :p

  19. eunice says:

oh. too bad not every car was checked. probably, it was just done randomly and you were their lucky pick! :D

well, here in the philippines, all cars are usually checked prior to an entry in any hotels or wherever. so one does not really feel awkward or anything.

anyway, i think it was still such an experience! ;)

  20. philip says:

that was weird. they had better be more careful with checking guests or else they’ll just scare people away
