My experience at the Singapore F1 Grand Prix finals! Congrats to Alonso of Ferrari n the Red Bull Racing drivers Sebastian Vettel & Mark Webber as Top 3!

Monday, September 27th, 2010

Gooooooood morning!!!!

Today's my last day in Singapore. I totally KO-ed last night after such long hours at the circuit zones!

My heart skipped 21487246839471 beats each time the drivers turn the corner. They were so close!! (except for a few who were lagging behind)

When Mark Webber overtook Lewis Hamilton, I was like WHOAAAA! Two drivers from Red Bull Racing in Top 3? :D

Alonso at the trophy presentation ceremony

He burst the GH Mumm champagne all over everyone!

I was cheering along with other Ferrari fans and screaming like a mad woman when Alonso zoomed past me for the 61st consecutive time. It was clear that he was leading all the way! GOGOGO Ferrari!

On another note, yes ima Ferrari fangirl for obvious reasons. I've loved Ferrari's since I was a kid and well, it's in my favorite color too – RED! The drivers are pretty hot too :P

So anyway, congrats on making the Top 3 fellas!

Champion!! :D Fernando Alonso of Scuderia Ferrari

Second place – Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing

Third place – Mark Webber of Red Bull Racing

Also coming in 4th place was Jensen Button of McLaren and 5th place, Nico Rosberg of Mercedes GP! :D Grats on making into Top 5 :D

Oh and I recall squeezing through sweaty smelly fellow photographers trying to get perfect angles and perfect shots of the speed demons racing their heads off on the circuits! Was so difficult to capture cars speeding with the speed of light especially when you're being pushed and shoved. But it was all worth it! :D

IT'S A GOOD CHALLENGE!

All was well and nerve-wrecking throughout the entire 61 laps. But 3 VERY interesting highlights during that fateful final race night were these :

When a Kingfisher totally broke down in the first few minutes and had to be towed – coincidentally right in front of where I was standing! Gosh. Sucks to be him =/

-sorry no photo was too engrossed in the whole commotion with my jaws hung open LOL-

Lewis Hamilton kicked out of the race when he tried to overtake Mark Webber for 3rd place, crashing his McLaren race car… and his way out of the Singapore F1 Grand Prix finals :( Ohnoes!

When a Lotus caught fire and ended up in flames by the last few minutes of the race! Lotsa officials ran there to extinguish the flames. Poor Heikki Kovalainen!

Wait for the upcoming posts, of Adam Lambert's GLAMNATION concert tour, Mariah Carey's concert, and me exploring the pit stop paddocks! :D Was a super fun learning experience! And *psst* those car engineers and mechanics from UK were smokin' hotttt too ;)

In the meantime, check out my 1st day at the Singapore F1 Grand Prix, okie?

Took lotsa piccies around and even caught Chris Daughtry LIVE in concert too – here!

Again, I'd like to thank my main sponsors Maxis and Lotus Racing for this amazing experience, making this all happen for me :) Gracias

More to come right after this!! :D

Hellooo from Singapore’s Formula 1 Grand Prix 2010!

Saturday, September 25th, 2010

So here I am, living outta suitcase yet again for the 4th consecutive week. Have been traveling back and forth from everywhere that I don’t even remember what the color of my condo’s walls are anymore.

Kidding, it’s whitewashed with pale beige.

I think.

I was extended the privilege of a fully sponsored trip down to Singapore to watch the F1 Grand Prix courtesy of Maxis, Lotus Racing and of course, Nuffnang. Also very pleased with my passes to the Grandstand worth $1288 SGD! :D

Red Zipper headband by Soak Republic of course!!

:D Check ‘em out for more

As I’m typing this with my frozen fingers, I would also like to accredit the place accommodating me for these comfy 3 nights.

Grand Park Cityhall Hotel. :D

Thanks guys for making my weekend a blast :)

After dinner, I headed to the circuit tracks to catch some rounds of practice sessions before their big day for tomorrow’s qualifiying race and Sunday’s final night race! I also made my way into the concert of a certain band; an A-Lister of my top 10 favorite bands of the century.

DAUGHTRY!

For those not in the loop of who and what Daughtry is, where have you been!!?? LOL

Daughtry is an American rock band from North Carolina and frontlined by none other than Chris Daughtry himself – finalist of American Idol Season 5. I adored him waaayyy back in 2006 when he was still in the running to become the next American Idol!

Those rock driven tracks  ‘It’s not Over’, ‘Home’, ‘Breakdown’, ‘Over You’, ‘No Surprise’ and all the others got everyone feeding off their infectious energy, singing along at the top of their voices! Yours truly included :D

Yup. It’s affirmative. Chris Daughtry and his band are love <3

They sounded more fabulous LIVE than they ever did before on telly!

Absolutely love them.

I‘m going hommmeee~

To a place where I belong~

Where your love has always been enough for me~

But I especially adored his acoustic version of ‘Home’. It was so beautifully performed. Sweet!

Chris, the man himself!

Initially wanted to watch Missy Elliot perform as well, but it was waaaayyyy tooo faarr r  at the other end of the circuit. A good 40 minutes walk from Daughtry’s stage.

Despite her being my HipHop idol when I was growing up, lazybones got the better of me and I opted to stay longer for Daughtry and explore the nearby grounds instead.

Lay by the grass to relax and take pretty pictures of my surroundings!

wheeeee

Love the scenic view

Dear Singaporeans, what bridge is this? :D

So that was what happened much  earlier. On the later part of the evening, I headed out to Phuture Zouk w a buncha friends to party the skies down.

Is Zouk SG better than its counterpart Zouk KL, in my homeland Malaysia?

Perhaps! Not really but kinda at the same time.

Of Tequila Pops and Dry Whiskies

Yes, twins. Say hi to Matt & James. If you took a 2nd look at this photo :D

Yes, my ambiguity isn’t meant to vouch for any club!

I still love them both all the same.

Who wouldn’t? :D

Right, that’s about all for Day #1 in Singapore this weekend!

More deafening (think F1 speed demons) and mind blowing stories next :D

Sex by the Beach : Redefined! Doggy style intimacy caught on video

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

Don't you just wish love was just as simple as frolicking by the beach, being completely oblivious of the curious spectators around you?

Humans – as complicated as they are – weigh this funny little thing called love as a serious, committed and a responsibility.

Many a time I've pondered, how many times we've fell out of love, hurt the one we love most and ultimately leave the one we love so dearly for the pursuit of our own future? How often do people smitten by love argue their lungs out with each other and suddenly the most beautiful person in the world has morphed into the most despicable and wicked witch from hell?

And in the end, you only have yourself

Why do love have to end in tears streaming from a shattered heart when it was supposed to be the happiest thing that has touched your lives? Randomly, no, I do not have a tainted view of love… I'm just no idealist, thank you very much :)

Here's a video I made with the footage of a very interesting and natural call of all living things

Watch till the end! :D

The bitter fact we all ought to be aware of is that love is anything but simple   and certainly unlike the video above  .

It ain't picture perfect ala the ones represented in Disney movies nor does it necessarily always end in the timeless 'Happy Endings' and a true love's kiss.

Have you ever wondered why they never follow up with what happens AFTER that kiss?

Why do most love stories/movies/fairytales end just right there?

… When in reality, you know it's just the beginning of a whole new ballgame.

Exploring Kuantan with The Star BRATs & my 1st time making batik! Of meaty satays, snacks & nasi impit

Tuesday, September 21st, 2010

Here I am on a 6 hour long coach ride back from Tioman.
Bah… at this rate, I’ll be alighting the bus approximately midnight

Anyhoozers, Part 2 of The Star BRATs like I promised!
A sequel to this blogpost of BRATS Part 1, Kuantan was where it all happened.

BRATs began and a few of us began manning the registration counter.
Typical! The BRATs were all on their best behavior on the first day. Hehe. But not for long! :P

For starters, they were required to introduce themselves.. sounds pretty easy right?
BUT ON CAMERA! Yup, a stand upper was what they were supposed to do.

They say a camera adds 10kg to a person. Heh!

They did pretty well considering it being their 1st time. However, there were some hilarious blunders and bloopers which became a significant inside joke for most of ‘em.

Something that went along the lines of : “HI. MY NAME IS SIXTEEN. EHH?”

More food for thought on newsworthiness, what makes news, different types of news and other fundamentals were being fed to their young minds before putting them on a simple practical test.

They were to gather as much info as possible about Jason and I and interview us on different angles of our blogging history, profile and journey. How to interview a person, how to approach a person and ask the right questions :)

Now, these were important to hone their skills – before they set off in the open to scour for news and handle real life interviews.

Lunchtime!
And I spotted a gingerbread mosque. I’ve seen gingerbread houses, cookies, men and lots more for Christmas…

…..but a GINGERBREAD MOSQUE? Cooooolios :D

The very next morning, it was time for them to put their newly acquired skills to test. Yeeehawww!
Feeling ambitious? :D

The BRATs was split into a few groups for convenience and the group that Ian and I accompanied were assigned to the Batik manufacturing factory. For the benefit of my non-Malaysian readers, Batik is a cloth that traditionally uses a manual wax-resist dyeing technique.

See the pretty finished products that we love and adorn?

Now, let’s get behind the scenes!

There are 4 key processes involved in making a Batik.
Waxing, Coloring,  Dyeing and Boiling

I watched and guided some of them as they interviewed the masters of the trade
He’s Myanmanese (and I don’t recall his name) but this fella below speaks fluent Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin!

Not too shabby for a non-local, at all :D

Kinda puts my Mandarin command to shame but that’s besides the point. Heh :D

They were given a chance in stamping the repetitive Batik motifs with hot boiling wax.

I had a go too! :D

I don’t know who’s bright idea it was to do our very own BRATs version of Batik but we imprinted our lack of artistic skills on the cloth to form an unimpressive, lopsided outline anyway.

Finished product. Doesn’t it look somewhat close to the original? :D

Hell yeah, if I do say so meself!

Here’s the final process. When everything is all stamped and painted on in place, the masterpieces are dunked into a boiling hot cauldron of water and soda to melt off the wax.

We skipped this process ‘cos we ain’t got all day! To boil and wait for it to dry would take furrrevaah!

Proud! :D Some of them were quite a natural with the paintbrush by the way.

Ian and I camwhoring with the Brats Batik!

While we were at it, the rest of the groups were busy at their respective assignments; the Keropok Lekor factory and the Ikan Masin processing site. Both are very notable foodstuff in Kuantan – quite like a heritage!

Kuantan is never complete without their huge-ass Chewy Fish Craclers and fresh Salted Fish
Oh and did I mention that the entire bus reeked of fishy stench the moment that group boarded? Pheeee-ewwww!! :P But it was all good!

When we all returned back to the hotel, it was crunchtime for them! They were supposed to produce newsworthy material in a few forms – an article, a photo essay and a video. So, chop chop!

Till the next blogpost! BRATs Kuantan Part 3 coming up soon. Think surfers and beach boys  :D

Oh and by the way, here are some of the local delights which we Seniors and Facilitators indulged in every night for supper.
Satay! Chicken, Beef
and.. er.. Rabbit meat -__-

But they were all so succulent and bursting with every stick we sank our teeth in!
Much, much better than Satay Kajang. Hmmph! I can vouch for that.

The famous Nasi Impit. Such adorable cubes of glutinous rice, no? :D

Oh and, one very prominent thing I will always remember at every single BRATs session: SNACKS & JUNKFOOD APLENTY!!

And if you thought we were gonna starve you in this “bootcamp”, that’s where you’re gravely mistaken – we stuff you till you’ll never look at Pringles, chocolates or cookies the same way again!
