Our short weekend getaway @ Langkawi Island! Of booze, chocolates & fireworks. HOLIDAY!

Sunday, August 29th, 2010

Heyyy!

How was your weekend everyone? :D

I headed back to give my family a visit and while I was browsing through some piccies, I realized that I long for another well deserved holiday so much! Well, MATTA Fair will be up and running next week and I just can't wait to choose the awesome packages there.

So lemme recap my weekend in Langkawi with the boyfie Josh some time back :) Realized that I haven't blogged 'em yet!

Departed from Swettenham Pier in Penang Island with the ferry.

Camwhored like crayyyyzeee!

When we reached, the first place we hit was the beach! :D

And decided to photobomb each other in the midst of narcissism

it wasn't planned! Bwhahaha

What a coincidence

Fast forward!

After playing in the sand like lil kids, it's time for some extreme sports :D

Motorboating yo!

That thing can go almost 300km/h yo

Took a ride! The seas were vicious but we still managed to squeeze a piccie

Thankfully, the speedboat didn't topple over!

We were speeding ala too fast too furious! Right in the middle of the rough waves

Take a look!

Josh superfreaked out lest I drop the camera into the deep depths of the sea

Nyehehe

But I didn't lor!
 All safe and sound

Here I am acting all macho like I own the waves!

Bwaaaahaaha :P

All done with riding the seven seas :P

What an adrenalin rush!

This overdue holiday was done at the start of 2010!

That time, my red highlights of 2009 had faded off already

Let the rain fall and wash away our writings in the sand!

Chilled out more at the beach and walked along the stretch of bazaars! I went absolutely bonkers shopping for sun dresses, bikinis, hair clips and whatnot!

And then nightfell. Had a good night's sleep back at the hotel

And before we knew it, it was the next day! A whole new day of activities lies ahead of us

Went for a traditional Chinese massage!

I did the reflexology! Ima fan of foot massages, in fact in every island I visit, the reflexology is a MUST do! :D

Here I am getting tortured LOL

When you're laden with stress, I'm certain it'll hurt pretty bad!

And here's Josh getting himself tortured as well

I mustered whatever Mandarin I can to get the masseur to massage him harder! :P

Did some shopping and dinner thereafter

Awwwwwww adorable max!!

And how can we forget, chocolates!

Here are some of my faves… Guylian's seashells

Dinner at a seafood restaurant! Langkawi's pretty fehmes for its seafood

Loved the Pineapple rice there too! We had calamari, fish, soft shell crabs and much more

Our last night at the beach.

Thought it would be nice to sit warmly by the bonfire

And it was huge!!! :D

Not to mention extremely glaring too

A beautiful arsenal of fireworks made their way through the nightsky

The display lasted for almost 5 minutes!

Headed off to the Bird Paradise park the next day

So much birds! I had fun feeding 'em too

Cockatooooooooooooo

And it was time to go off already!

Time seems to stop whenever you're on a holiday ey. :( :(

Goooooooodbye Langkawi!

We'll be back again for the fun, the booze, the beach and the seafoooood!

Short weekends trippin' are the best way to renergize yourself for a brand new week ahead.

This year, I'll be heading to Pangkor Island, Tioman Island and Bali if everything goes smoothly as planned!

*crosses fingers*

My obsession on Norway. What’s with it? So.. am I migrating there? Or.. what?

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

I get lotsa questions on my current obsession about Norway lately

So yes, I know some of you have also been curious about what's spawning my verbal diarrhoea about Norway in my tweets and Facebook updates. I shall share why.

If you're wondering, no, I did not fall in love with a Norweigian trout nor a codfish, neither did I get my feet whisked away by a Viking seafarer.

Hell no.

The thing is, I've never really paid any attention to Norway nor the Scandinavian peninsular within its vicinity.

I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW A NORWEIGIAN FLAG LOOKS LIKE.

Did you?

It looks like this -

Funny how Geography never taught me nuts about Norway.

The only thing I remotely know is that Norweigian salmon there tastes really good.

And Jens Stoltenberg is the current ruling president of Norway.

And the capital of Norway is Oslo.

Does that sound sufficient to warrant myself a fairly intellectual conversation about Norway?

I'm afraid not.

I reckon Norway looks like a goat head on in map

But don't worry. If it's any consolation, Malaysia doesn't look any better, I think we look like a lopsided mango :D

Told you so :D :D

I don't actually feel so bad about my inadequate knowledge of Norway because in this Norweigian phase of mine, many of my friends ask me:

WHERE IS NORWAY ACTUALLY?

or

NORWAY IS SWITZERLAND RIGHT?

NO. It is not. Just like how pissed to the bone I'd get when people say

MALAYSIA IS SINGAPORE RIGHT?

or

MALAYSIA IS IN THAILAND RIGHT?

No!! It is not!!

So ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, this is where Norway is on the world map.

Yes I know it's tiny country to live in, but likewise, I'm living in one right now. IF you've ever heard of Malaysia. *rolls eyes*

So, what else do I think of Norway?

"That is was a beautiful country to live in"

Those were his exact words!

It produces nice friends (and good dancers) like you.

Although this is not my first nor only foreign friend, it's indeed a very eye-opening one as there was so much I learnt in such a short time. Thank You! :D

Yes fine, I met a friend last weekend and I bet you can guess by now that he is Norweigian. Thus, it sparked my interest as why I don't know shit about Norway. Possibly because he doesn't know shit about Malaysia either.

Oh and randomly, I just handed in an assignment today on Cultural Globalization for my International Studies subject. Just saying.

Meet Person C, the very patriotic Norweigian. He likes beer and partying.

Then again, doesn't everybody? LOL

So what else? I think Norway looks like something out of a set from the Lord of the Rings trilogy

Hmmm… possibly?

Or not.

And you have a very good looking president!

For his age la, I meant :)

This is Jens Stoltenberg. I read up his biography and it was impressive!

Whatever it is, I haven't read up so much about Norway in one night. Pretty interesting, if I do say so myself. Bet you don't know half of Malaysia the way I know about Norway :D

Now it's your turn to read up about Malaysia and produce something equivalent thank you very much.

So there you go. I've blogged about your country as per request!! :D

-the end-

How I publicly embarrassed myself this morning for friendship! Rambo-style breakfast at Double Tree Hotel by Hilton

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

Okay so last night at Phuture @ Zouk was another night of mayhem!

My best friend and her other circle of friends were in the city yesterday, and we definitely hit Zouk again for some all-out partying

(photos up tomorrow!)

Calvin and I was supposed to drive back after partying but obviously we were too intoxicated to drive all the way back, and even IF we did make it safely back, we would fail the breathalizer test again :(

So all of us bunked over at Doubletree Hotel by Hilton nearby. Beautiful rooms and king sized beds too! But that's besides the point.

The POINT that I'm trying to make is this – what would you do for the sake of friendship? Till what extent?

So the very next morning, I woke up with severe gastric while everyone was hungry too. But unfortunately, we were only provided TWO complimentary buffet breakfast for two from the hotel.

Obviously, my gastric rendered me eligible… and the rest (although hungry), weren't as hungry as Calvin.

So off Calvin and I went down to the hotel restaurant for breakfast.

But we felt bad because we got the chance to go for a sumptuous buffet breakfast while the rest of our buddies didn't :(

So they asked if we could help sneak back a wee bit of food for them, just so they don't die of morning starvation and hangovers.

We agreed. Just for them!!! :D

Here comes my PUBLIC EMBARRASSMENT. Figured it was so funny after it all, I just HAD to share!

So I took lots of food back to our table on the pretext of having to eat it all, but instead, I dropped them stealthily into the Zara shopping bag. So Rambo style zomg!!

Puff pastries, croissants, muffins, pancakes went into the bag one by one – when no one was watching of course.

But that was what I thought :(

While I was taking the food to-go in a clandestine manner, I was vary of my surroundings.  My eyes darted from side to side ala criminal in the making to be sure I wasn't caught red handed by the waitresses.

Look, I had to! My friends have to eat too, right?

Besides, the hotel had prolly too much food to worry about a silly girl taking back a tiny bits and pieces for her friends. Well, as a matter of fact, I *could* and *might* have that big an appetite of 4 people too, right right? :D

Anyway, in the midst of doing that, I failed to realize that a Japanese lady was watching me in confusion the entire time!!!!!!

HOLYYYY SWEEET MOTHER OF GOD.

My face turned red of sheer abasement and I sunk into my chair with a deflated ego.

I guess I portrayed an image of "a greedy Malaysian who steals back food to her room for herself to eat even after a heavy buffet" Oh goodness gracious no!! :( Either that, or I might've been mistaken as a "typical Asian with a kiasu attitude in having everything all to herself"

So I couldn't take it anymore and made Calvin finish up the embarrassing task :P :P :P YOUR TURN!!!!

Well at LEAST he had some credit in assisting me!

For the love of God and my own reputation I swear I'll never return to that hotel again.

Not forgetting the fact that I was clad in nothing but smeared mascara and a hotel bathrobe! I couldn't possibly wear last night's tight fitting cocktail dress to a MORNING BREAKFAST. It would be highly inappropriate.

BUT THAT WAS NOT ALL

(Sorry honey, just figured this photo of you with my hairbow befits the caption) :P

Shrouded in embarrassment, it didn't help that Calvin and I spotted a CCTV strategically pointed directly at us FML caught on camera in a 5 star hotel doing very comical things ohnoes hahahaha

LOOK GIRLFRIENDS, YALL BETTER APPRECIATE WHAT WE HAVE DONE FOR YOU OKAY!!!!

JOYCE, CHIAU YIN, RHENHUEY AND CHANSEY!

This is my first and LAST time doing this ridiculous thing! Ugh! hahahahahahaahah

And on another note, NORWAY IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY AIN'T IT

Oooh my new shoes! Looks like I’ve succumbed to the ‘flats’ trend – thanks to Crocs!

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

Just the other day when I was supposed to meet a friend up at Ikano Power Center, I arrived unexpectedly earlier than the agreed time :D

That's rarely the case for me but oh well, it gave me the extra time to go shopping!

So I walked around and ended up in Crocs. Saw some pretty cute flats; ya know those Ballerina-looking flat shoes which every girl seem to be wearing now?

I NEVER liked it initially cos I've always thought it made people look short and squat. UNTIL I saw my bestie Joyce wearing them and it looked pretty fine on her. So I thought "Ohhh, alrighttt. I'll prolly give it a try"

Mirror mirror on the wall,

Which is the prettiest Crocs of all?

A very nice salesperson approached me and showed me around when I asked for recommendations :) Hmmm looks like there were some new stocks of easy slip-on flats that just came freshly in! These are called the 'Lady' women series

It costs RM129 per pair! There were plenty of colours to choose from, but I took these off the shelves first

Hmmm.. black? or pink?

I don't know, really :D

Both seem pretty okay to me!

I've always wanted to try wearing 2 different coloured shoes and head out for the day.

But everyone would think I'm a complete psychopath! :P :P

Oh and randomly, check out this bright green coloured one! So radioactive omg

I had a huge surprise when I saw this!

Hmm.. will people ACTUALLY go out walking in this?

But when I saw it in real life, it's not that kua zhang!! At least people won't be blinded the moment they look at your feet hehe :D

Was actually much calmer and easy on the eye :D

Lemme show you the other colours :

There were Black, Oyster (white), Expresso (grey), Gold, Bubblegum (Pink) and Parrot Green

Was told that these 'Lady' series were made from fully molded Croslite material material. If ya don't know what Croslite is, these are the mighty stuff that provides ergonomic fit and makes it so comfy!

So many colours! But I'm actually still intent to choose between these 2 below :D

Still in dilemma – the black or the pink? :D

Whatever, I'll just walk out with 2 different colours!

Apart from those, I spotted something much much prettier that caught my eye! :D :D :D Whoopeedoo. This is why I love shopping! There's just so much nicer things everywhere around the shop and you'll be spoilt for choice

I absolutely LOVE the Lily LJ Plaid Women!

A great (and pretty) deviation from the typical Crocs :D

Guess which one I chose in the end?

HINT : LOOK AT THIS BLOG'S PRIMARY COLOUR!! :D :D

I chose the RED one of course!

Along with a pair of Crocband as a birthday gift for Godmummy!

I know she reads my blog but I hope she doesn't read this before it lands in her hands :)

Dear Goddy, if you already saw this, SURPRISE! :D

Pass to you on my next visit home okie?

Glad I walked into Crocs that very evening. Oh and guess what? My friend came 45 minutes late! Haha but it's alright, I had my own good fun while waiting for him anyways :D Just don't make me wait next time kay! Muahahaha (you know who you are)

Oh, and here's something I spotted in the shop that might be of use for the Citibank card holders out there!

Okay now gotta think of what to buy for mom and dad's birthday!! :D :D

Darn. Do their birthdays REALLY have to fall in the same month? RAWR! :D

Anyways, I gotta run. Having lectures in the auditorium as we speak!

*points to my very first pair of flats*

Thank you Crocs!
